Executive Order 9066 was signed on this day in 1942

On this day in 1942, President Franklin Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 which authorized the U.S. Department of War to remove "any or all people from military areas as deemed necessary or desirable." They would hold Japanese-Americans in camps spread across the Western states.
