Jail For Four Men Who Sexually Attacked Girl 20 Times

Four Buckinghamshire men have been found guilty of twenty sex offences against one girl.

The 14-year-old was forced to take part in sexual acts and have sex a number of times between December 2011 and July 2012.

During their three week trial, Nazakat Mahmood, Ghulfaraz Nawaz, Omar Sharif and Haroon Rauf told Reading Crown Court that they thought she was 17.

But after Mahmood, Nawaz and Rauf were arrested, Sharif contacted the girl and said he’d undermine her statement.

He then blackmailed her into having sex with him.

Investigating officer Det Con Natalie Golding from Aylesbury Major Crime said:

“This was abuse of a young vulnerable girl in the most horrific way.

“All four men used this girl and then, when she had the courage to come to police, they denied the offences and continued to deny them.

“I want to thank the victim here for her bravery in coming forward and helping us to put these men behind bars.

“Hopefully this will go some way to showing other victims of sexual offences that we will listen to you and we will take you seriously.”

The full convictions are:

Nazakat Mahmood, aged 28, of Batchelors Way, Chesham was convicted of seven counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Ghulfaraz Nawaz, aged 27, of Benham Close, Chesham, was convicted of two counts of sexual activity with a child.
Haroon Rauf, aged 30, of Drakes Close, Amersham, was convicted of two counts of sexual activity with a child, one count of assault by beating,
Omar Sharif, aged 25, of Brockhurst Road, Chesham, was convicted of six counts of sexual activity with a child.

They’ll all be sentenced on May 16.

British MPs Condemn Alleged Islamist School Takeover Plot


An alleged plot by Muslim extremists to subvert state schools in Birmingham, England and run them according to a rigid interpretation of Islam has angered members of the British Parliament.

A purported letter which surfaced in March detailed a plot to take over the schools, using dirty tricks to drive out headmasters and replace their staffs with people who supported the plot. Britain's Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) is investigating the rumored plot and plans to release a report in May.

Tahir Alam, one of the alleged plotters, denounced the letter as "a fabrication" and the called the allegations about the plot a "witch hunt" motivated by "Islamophobia."

Khalid Mahmoud, a Muslim Labour MP who represents Birmingham charged that "a small group of individuals" was trying to change the ethos of the schools under the cloak of secrecy. Mahmoud also claimed that that radical Salafists were attempting to impose their views on the majority of the city's Muslims.

A mother of one student who attends an affected school told the Daily Express newspaper that her daughter had been harassed by older boys who were denouncing girls who refused to wear veils and stay separate from the boys.

"My daughter tried to bring in an Easter egg for a friend and one boy grabbed it and smashed it against a wall," the mother said. "Another girl of about 11 brought in a little Easter bunny toy that she wanted to show her friends. They grabbed that off her too."

Such reports disturbed former British Foreign Minister Jack Straw, who said Muslim school leaders "must respect British values." He denounced what he called an effort to proselytize Islam in "an exclusive way and claim that those who are not of the Muslim faith are infidel and have fewer rights."

The Park View Educational Trust that runs the schools that have come under scrutiny said the reports have generated hate mail and were "causing unwarranted and unnecessary alarm" among affected families.

A senior source with the U.K.'s Department of Education told the Sunday Telegraph that an "overlapping web of connections" has been discovered and that the driving force appeared to be "explicitly Islamist."

The Ofsted reports are likely to result in Alam's ouster as chairman of the Park View Educational Trust and as chairman of Park View Academy - one of the affected schools, according to the Telegraph.

A separate Department of Education report found that girls at Park View and Golden Hillock, a sister school, were forced to sit in the back of the class, while Christian students at Golden Hillock were left to "teach themselves." An al-Qaida supporter was invited to speak at Park View.

Members of Birmingham's city council were informed of these problems in six months ago but took no action until the letter became public.

Op-Ed: Islam is as British as the Gray Sky of London


These words were uttered by a London Alderman. Sheer numbers of Muslims weak British backbones and the desire for Arab investments are turning Britain into something unknown.

“Islam is British like grey sky”

In 1215, Britain enacted the “Magna Charta Libertatum”. It is the basis of the UK legal system which protects individual rights.

800 years later, for the first time, that glorious legal system is changing face. It is now an experiment unique in the world, the hybridation of the Magna Charta and Islam. This is not Londonstan or Islamisation, the multicultural ghettos or threats, but Islam injected into the most important sectors of the country’s government: law, education and finance.

Given the high rate of Islamic presence in England, sharia, or Islamic law, will now be used by notaries and lawyers. The initiative comes from the Law Society. Baroness Cox, a member of the House of Lords who has always been engaged in campaigns for the protection of women against discrimination, asserts emphatically that these latest developments “would turn suffragettes in their graves”.

Sharia in the UK has become so powerful that 85 Islamic courts in the country operate daily in familial disputes. The advent of this parallel system has been made possible thanks to the British Arbitration Act and the Alternative Dispute Resolution. These courts, it must be stressed, are based on the rejection of the principle of the inviolability of human rights.

The main Islamic courts are located in London, Birmingham, Bradford, Manchester and Nuneaton, the very hearts of the great British Muslim community. The first of these courts was established in 1982 in east London under the leadership of Suhaib Hasan, a prominent member of the European Council for Fatwa, the organization headed by Youssef Qaradawi, spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood.

These courts formalize the “talaq”, the Islamic repudiation of a wife by her husband. Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, the Conservative leader of the Islamic faith, calls it “apartheid”.

Meanwhile, four departments of the government (Labor and Pensions, Treasury , Revenue and Customs, Ministry of the Interior) have recognized polygamy. Although the practice is illegal in England and Wales since 1604, the polygamous Muslims in the UK benefit from social privileges and are recognized by the public authorities.

One of the highest UK Justices, Sir James Munby as well as Rowan Williams, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, and the former Chief Justice, Lord Phillips, all are open to the use of Sharia in the UK legal system.

Islamic law is also advancing in public universities. The new guidelines of the university, under the item “External speakers in higher education institutions” prepared by the Committee on Universities, declared legitimate the Islamic fundamentalist campaign to separate women and men during university events. Many religious Jews also separate men and women at their events, but they have no plans to impose their way of life on others the way Muslims do.

A new system of “Sharia-compliant” student loans has also just be launched to allow Muslim students to go to university. The initiative comes from David Willetts, the Universities Minister.

A new report, entitled, “Easy Meat: Multiculturalism, Islam and Child Sex Slavery”, also shows how officials in England and Wales were aware of Islamic child grooming, the process by which predators befriend and build trust with children in order to prepare them for sexual abuse by Muslim gangs. This has been going on since at least 1988. Why was it not stopped? Call it “cultural sensitivity”.

Last December, Prime Minister David Cameron, speaking at the World Islamic Economic Forum, launched the candidacy of London to vie for the title “capital of Islamic finance in the West”,with the announcement of the first Islamic bond, or “sukuk”, issued by a non-Muslim country.

The British government began to provide workers with Islamically correct pension funds. The Islamic Bank of Britain, which operates in accordance with Sharia, doesn’t invest in the tobacco and alcohol industries, or worse, pornography (Never mind child grooming and similar Islamist activities).

Even the London Stock Exchange is preparing an Islamic index “to facilitate the identification of Sharia based investments”.

Because as the former mayor of the City Alderman Roger Gifford said, “Islamic finance should be as British as fish and chips and the gray sky of London”.

One day, when landing at Heathrow airport, we will wonder whether the UK is still Winston Churchill’s country or whether it has become a surreal and ridiculous mix of Sharia and Spice Girls.

Failed Strategy: UK Funding Extremists to Stop Terror


The gov't has failed to see that these extremists have been proven to be the impetus for terrorism perpetrated by their followers.


The progression from being a radical to being a terrorist has been referred to as the extremism "conveyor belt." Although the government has acknowledged the fundamental role of so-called "non-violent" or "soft Islamist" extremists in this progression, taxpayers continue to fund extremist groups.

Michael Adebowale, one of the two British jihadists found guilty of murdering soldier Lee Rigby near London's Woolwich barracks in May 2013, has recently attributed his radicalization to Islamic preacher Sheikh Khalid Yasin.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Adebowale, who refused to give evidence during his trial, stated that he converted to Islam after listening to cleric Sheikh Khalid Yasin's lectures, which he said taught him "the purpose of life."

Yasin, an American-born Islamic preacher, claims Christians and Jews are "kuffar" [infidels] and their beliefs are "filth." Yasin has called for the killing of homosexuals and claims that "Christian groups" have deliberately infected Africans with the AIDS virus. He further adds that the Koran gives men permission to beat women.

Adebowale is not the first violent extremist to name Yasin as his muse. In 2011, Khalid Yasin was invited by three men, later convicted of inciting terrorism, to address a meeting of young Muslims in Manchester.

While Yasin's views are rejected by many, he is by no means a pariah figure. In February 2011, the BBC interviewed Yasin for a documentary on Dutch politician Geert Wilders. The program introduced the Sheikh as a "moderate" preacher "engaged in de-radicalising youth."

It seems to be self-proclaimed "moderate" organizations and mosques that are involved in the radicalization of young Muslim men. In May 2013, The Daily Telegraph reported:

[Adebowale's] mother was advised by a neighbour to take him to the head of the Woolwich mosque for spiritual guidance. He was converted to Islam by the head Imam, and taken for weeks of "further training" at a centre near Cambridge. When he returned, however, he was even more "radicalised" and his mother could no longer "get through to him".

In 2010, a Freedom of Information request revealed that, since 2007, the local Government had provided the very same Woolwich Mosque, also known as the Greenwich Islamic Centre, with a public grant of £62,500, supposedly to counteract violent extremism.

The media's curious habit of separating extremist preachers from the very terrorists they appear to have inspired has previously been examined; journalists and politicians, however, seem unable to accept that some Islamist groups might say one thing in public but promote a very different thing behind closed doors.

The Muslim Association of Britain, for instance, responded to the Woolwich killing by stating that they "deplored the horrific attack, murder and mutilation upon an off-duty soldier ... They deserve punishment with the full force of the law."

The president of the Muslim Association of Britain, however, has endorsed the killing of troops in Israel and Iraq; and Dr. Azzam Tamimi, another senior member of the Association, has expressed his desire to become a suicide bomber.

Angel Rabasa, a political scientist at the RAND Corporation, has observed:

"In our own studies of radical recruitment in the Middle East, we found that individuals recruited into Salafi or Muslim Brotherhood groups decide at some point that their mentors are not Islamic enough and move on to even more extreme and violent groups. This progression from religious radicalism to violent extremism is made possible by the absence of firewalls between mainstream Islam and radicals and violent extremists. Violent extremists can derive scriptural justifications for their actions."

Woolwich terrorist Adebowale also attended sessions at the Glyndon Community Centre, where another extremist, Usman Ali, presented sessions. Ali had previously used the Woolwich Mosque to show children videos of the 9/11 attacks while chanting: "God is great." The local government authority owns the Glyndon Community Centre, and the charity that manages the centre is largely taxpayer-funded.

Ali was a member of the centre's managing committee the same year that the council provided a grant of £137,000. Ali was later employed by a local public hospital as the official Muslim chaplain.

The individuals attached to the radicalization of the Woolwich killers were not unabashed advocates of terrorism, but so-called "soft Islamists" -- afforded money and responsibility by the government in the vain hope that "non-violent" Islamism would temper violent Islamism.

This process seems also to have occurred, for instance, to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the failed "underwear bomber," who attempted to detonate an explosive device he was wearing on Northwest Airlines 253 on December 25, 2009.

Years earlier, Abdulmutallab had been a student at University College London, where he was president of the Islamic Society. After the bomb failed to detonate, he told his arresting FBI officers in Detroit that he was seeking martyrdom for the glory of al-Qaeda. At the time of his arrest, he was the fourth president of a London student Islamic society to attempt an act of terrorism in three years.

While Abdulmutallab was in charge of his university's Islamic society, he did not invite barefaced extremists involved with violent acts to address students; instead, he invited dozens of popular, well-known British Islamist preachers, who still frequently speak on university campuses, share platforms with British politicians and are frequently invited by the media to give comment on "moderate" Islam.

These preachers included: Murtaza Khan, who claims women who use perfume should be flogged; Abdurraheem Green, who has spoken of a "Jewish stench" and says it is permissible to beat women to "bring them to goodness;" Haitham Al-Haddad, who describes Jews as "pigs and apes;" and Yasir Qadhi, who claims the Holocaust is a hoax and has said: "Why are Jews studying Islam? There is a reason, not that they want to help us, they want to destroy us."

By Abdulmutallab's own admission, it was these "non-violent" Islamist preachers who radicalized him. In 2008, in a short autobiography, he cited the influence of Haitham al-Haddad. The same year, Abdulmutallab had attended seminars organized by the Al Maghrib Institute in both London and Houston. The Institute's founder, Muhammad Al Shareef, has written a paper entitled, "Why the Jews Were Cursed" -- in which he claims that Jews control the media and were responsible for the murder of prophets. A number of the Institute's staff, described as extremist preachers, frequently speak on platforms provided by British Muslim groups.

In 2011, Prime Minister David Cameron acknowledged the problem of "the conveyor belt," during a much-discussed speech in Munich, and signalled that the government's approach would change:

"As evidence emerges about the backgrounds of those convicted of terrorist offences, it is clear that many of them were initially influenced by what some have called 'non-violent extremists', and they then took those radical beliefs to the next level by embracing violence. ... Some organisations that seek to present themselves as a gateway to the Muslim community are showered with public money despite doing little to combat extremism. As others have observed, this is like turning to a right-wing fascist party to fight a violent white supremacist movement."

Following this testimony, however, taxpayer-subsidised extremism did not meet a sudden end. Since Cameron's Munich speech, for example, the East London Mosque, has received at least £150,000 of taxpayers' money. In December 2013, the East London Mosque invited Shakeel Begg, who describes jihad as "the greatest of deeds," to speak at the institution.

Moreover, in 2012 – after the Prime Minister's Munich speech and the year in which £150,000 of public grants were provided – one invited speaker at the Mosque was Saad al-Beraik, a "prominent [Saudi] government official cleric," who refers to Jews as "monkeys" and has said: "Muslim brothers in Palestine, do not have any mercy neither compassion on the Jews, their blood, their money, their flesh. Their women are yours to take, legitimately. God made them yours. Why don't you enslave their women? Why don't you wage jihad? Why don't you pillage them?"

The greatest obstacle remains the failure of government, media and academia to accept that some "moderate" Islamists are frequently the cause and Adebowale merely the symptom. Policy makers and academics, however, continue to insist that "non-violent" Islamists should be part of the fight against radicalization.

Several months after the Prime Minister's Munich speech in 2011, Lord Carlile published his review of the government's counter-terror program, a report that further affirmed the importance of countering "non-violent" extremists. Nonetheless, since the review was published, even though official funding from the government's counter-terror program has dried up, taxpayer money continues to find its way into the pockets of extremist Islamist groups through other means, such as taxpayer-funded interfaith programmes and publicly-funded faith schools.

The author and political commentator Douglas Murray has noted that the failure properly to confront the danger presented by "non-violent" extremism is primarily a political one:

Shortly after Mr. Cameron's [Munich] speech, the Liberal Democrat leader (and Deputy Prime Minister) Nick Clegg gave an almost exactly opposite speech in Luton. He argued, among other things, the importance of engagement with nonviolent extremists.

Academia, too, seems blind to the problem: the inquiry set up by the University College London to examine Abdulmutallab's presence at UCL, for instance, included Muhammad Abdul Bari on its panel of experts. In 2006, while Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, Bari offered the East London Mosque as a platform to Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, the Jamaat-e-Islami vice-president who has since also been sentenced to death in Bangladesh for his involvement in acts of genocide during the 1971 War of Independence. Muhammad Abdul Bari has also defended the East London Mosque's decision to host an event with Anwar Al-Awlaki, the late Al Qaeda leader.

The process of radicalization seems institutionalized within Britain's leading "moderate" Islamist groups. Until the government chooses seriously to challenge the extremism promoted by these organizations, withdraws all public funding and puts a stop to the inclusion of "non-violent" extremists in the discussion of public policy, the "conveyor belt" will continue to release more and more radicalized youth onto the streets of British cities.

Alleged Plot to Impose Islamism on UK Schools Revealed


A letter purporting to be from a Birmingham based Islamist reveals a detailed plot to impose Islamist practices on state-run British schools.


A letter, which details a plot to takeover British state schools and use them to teach extremist interpretations of Islam, came into the possession of members of the Birmingham City Council. It was later leaked to British media. It was allegedly a correspondence between two Islamists, one in Birmingham and one in Bradford, both in the UK.

"Operation Trojan Horse," as it is named in the letter, sets out a strategy on how to remove uncooperative teachers and replace them with Islamists and eliminate mixed sports and other activities have been deemed 'un-Islamic.' It names four schools as having already been successfully taken over in Birmingham: Adderley Primary, Saltley School, Park View School and Regents Park Community School.

The plan detailed in the letter is simple. It requires first recruiting support from parents of children at the school, preferably "hardline," Salafi parents. These parents are then to form a united front to pressure the head teacher and individuals to conform to the Islamist doctrine and practice i.e. compulsory hijabs, only halal meat, compulsory Islamic prayer etc.

Campaigns of harassment and intimidation are to be used to eventually force uncooperative teachers to quit, so they can be replaced with more compliant teachers. Writing to MPs, governors and teachers and complaining about the standard of education are tactics recommended in the letter. Parents are asked to say "that the school is corrupting their children with sex education, teaching about homosexuals, making their children pray Christian prayers and mixed swimming and sports."

Religious coercion in Britain's state schools is illegal. For those who prefer a particular religious environment for their children a provision for religious schools exists, and there are many Muslim schools in the UK, along with other faith schools, that receive state funding.

Some have argued that the letter is a fraud. Tahir Alam, the former chair of the education committee of the Muslim Council of Britain, called the letter "a malicious fabrication and completely untrue." He is, however, named personally in the letter and is closely involved in Muslim education in schools.

One teacher, Michael White, claims that after Alam became chairman of the board of governors at Park View school, he was forced from his position as head of Mathematics. He had tried to block attempts to appoint unqualified Islamists to teaching positions and opposed the banning of sex education. He told The Daily Mail, "It was a highly-organised, clever operation that I was powerless to fight." According to the Telegraph, a senior teacher at Park View "repeatedly endorsed the terrorist ideologue Anwar al-Awlaki at school assemblies." Awlaki was a high ranking al-Qaeda leader and propogandist who was a major influence on the jihadist movement. He was killed in 2011.

Aside from Alam's role in the Muslim Council of Britain, he is vice-chair of the Association of Muslim Schools. Last year at its conference one of the speakers attacked "attempts to integrate Muslim children" as an effort "to produce new generations that will reject Islam."

Although the letter is unsigned and undated, there is plenty of corroborating evidence to support the claims it makes. Teachers who have been forced to resign have lined up to tell their stories. One teacher reported how Islamists turned against her after she reported children in her class returning from after school Qu'ran class covered in bruises. She said people arrived at the school asking her class for any incriminating evidence against her.

The Telegraph's London editor Andrew Gilligan said "whether or not the letter is genuine, much of what it describes is certainly real." According to Telegraph investigations, "there is indeed an organised group of Muslim teachers, education consultants, school governors and activists dedicated to furthering what one of them describes as an “Islamising agenda” in Birmingham’s schools."

The Telegraphs goes on to say that Islamist activists, who are members of the local Muslim communities in Birmingham, convene in person and online to discuss ways of furthering their Islamist agenda. Conversations from a private WhatsApp Group called "Educational Activists" were leaked to the Telegraph. One entry, which was apparently "typical" crowed: "A battle was fought and won tonight at a large inner city primary school where the governors voted by 8-7 in favor of collective worship that is wholly or mainly of an Islamic character, thereby overturning five years of 'children pray in their own way and language’! The governing body is now polarized on faith grounds."

This is not the first time that attempts to Islamize education have caused controversy. Last month an Islamic boy's school was warned by the Department of Education under gender equality law for advertising a position as a temporary science teacher only for male applicants.

The Telegraph names several prominent Muslim community figures as involved in the effort. Other papers including the Guardian and The Daily Mail name a variety of individuals and schools as involved. So far, there no specific organization has been linked to the campaign. Individuals involved within the campaign are affiliated with a myriad of groups, councils and committees.

Whether the letter itself is a forgery, investigations have revealed a clearly orchestrated and organized campaign. The goal is straightforward: to impose a strict Islamic education upon British children in order to pass on a radical interpretation of the Muslim faith.

A BRITISH Muslim couple have been jailed after posting videos on YouTube saying it was "a brilliant day" when Fusilier Lee Rigby was murdered.


The two recorded and uploaded three videos in which they celebrated the death and laughed at those grieving for the fallen soldier.

Royal Barnes, 23, and his wife, Rebekah Dawson, 22, pleaded guilty to three counts of disseminating a terrorist publication last month.

Barnes has been sentenced to five years and four months in prison while his wife Rebekah Dawson was handed a 20-month sentence.

In one of the offensive videos, Dawson filmed Barnes gloating just hours after the killing in Woolwich, south-east London, on May 22 2013.

He is seen saying: “This is a brilliant day. It is the Muslim fight-back. Sharia law of Allah is coming.”

And referring to Rigby, he said: “That man is in the grip of hellfire and I am glad he is in hellfire.”

In a second video the following day, Dawson recorded Barnes saying: "We are fighting back and Sharia, Islamic law will come in.”

Dawson filmed her and Barnes a week later laughing hysterically as they drove past hundreds of flowers left at the murder scene.

“This is where a British soldier died.” Barnes is heard saying.

"They fail to realise that their foreign policy is the reason why this Lee Rigby is no more".

Barnes, who knew one of the murderers Michael Adebowale, also used Facebook to taunt Rigby's grievers.

He wrote: “Any1 who kills an invading soldier in Muslim land I will give them a Vauxhall Astra 3door and money (French British American any kaffir soldier take ur pick) [sic].”

Judge Brian Barker QC said the pair showed "a total and continuing disregard" for the effect the shocking video would have on both Lee Rigby's family and the general public.

Lee Rigby's killers Adebowale, 22, and Michael Adebolajo, 29, were given life sentences last month for the murder of Drummer Rigby.

Adebolajo received a whole life term with no chance of release while accomplice Adebowale was sentenced to a minimum of 45 years behind bars.

They ran the defenceless soldier down with their car then dragged him into the street and hacked him to death with a meat cleaver and knives before leaving his bloodied body in the road.

Adebolajo was then recorded talking to cameras in the road with blood on his hands.

When police arrived a shootout took place and the two Muslim converts were taken into custody.

British Islamists Intimidate Media Into Limiting Free Speech


British mainstream media have censored reporting of the Jesus & Mo cartoon controversy initiated by a British anti-islamist Muslim.

Muslim fundamentalists in London have threatened to behead a fellow British Muslim after he posted an innocuous image of Mohammed and Jesus on his Twitter account.

The death threats against Maajid Nawaz, a Liberal Democrat Party candidate for British Parliament, add to a growing number of cases in which Islamists are using intimidation tactics to restrict the free speech rights of fellow Muslims in Europe. (Efforts to silence non-Muslims are well documented.)

Nawaz—a former member of the Islamist revolutionary group Hizb ut-Tahrir and co-founder of the Quilliam Foundation, a London-based counter-extremism think-tank—on January 12 posted on Twitter a cartoon of Mohammed and Jesus greeting one another ("Hey" and "How ya doin'?") with the caption: "This Jesus & Mo @JandMo cartoon is not offensive & I'm sure God is greater than to feel threatened by it الله أكبر منه".

Nawaz's tweet followed a BBC Big Questions program in which the "Jesus and Mo" cartoons, which have been around since 2005, were discussed and Nawaz was included as a studio guest.

Nawaz, who is also author of the book "Radical: My Journey out of Islamist Extremism," said he posted the image to trigger a debate among Muslims about what should and should not be acceptable within Islam.

Not in the mood for debate, furious Muslims responded by bullying and issuing threats of violence—including beheading—and also launched a petition (it quickly garnered more than 20,000 signatures) to have Nawaz deselected as a candidate for parliament.

Labour Party Councilor Yaqub Hanif of Luton, a town situated 50 km (30 miles) north of London and known as the Islamic extremist capital of Britain, said the depictions of Mohammed were "totally unacceptable" to Muslims and called on Nawaz to step down.

"It's appalling that this guy is a parliamentary candidate because this behavior is not conducive to being an MP," Hanif said in an interview with the International Business Times. "If you want to be an MP then you must respect all faiths. He's not doing that."

A counter-petition has now been set up (it has only 8,000 signatures) calling on the Liberal Democrats to give Nawaz their full support. The petition states:

"Islamists and political opponents have mounted a campaign against Maajid Nawaz, resulting in numerous threats to his life. We note that this campaign, rather than being based on legitimate concerns of Muslims, is a political campaign which is being spear-headed by a group of Muslim reactionaries with a track record of promoting extremism. They are seeking to use Muslim communities in order to whip up hatred against a liberal and secular Muslims. We are concerned that this campaign will also be used by anti-Muslim extremists as evidence of Muslim intolerance and incompatibility with liberal values which could, in turn, fuel anti-Muslim bigotry."

The leader of the Liberal Democrats, Nick Clegg, has expressed his support for Nawaz. "We simply cannot tolerate anyone in a free country—where we have to protect free speech, even if that free speech might cause offense to others—being subject to death threats and them and their family being put under extraordinary pressure to recant what they said," Clegg said.

Muslims eventually retaliated by rescinding the Quilliam Foundation's nomination for the annual British Muslim Awards, held in Manchester on January 30. Quilliam had been listed in the "Spirit of Britain" award category, but a statement on the awards' Facebook page reads: "In light of recent activity, the British Muslim Awards, after careful consideration, have come to the decision that it can no longer promote the Quilliam Foundation as a finalist, and thus its nomination has been removed with immediate effect."

More worrisome for the principle of free speech is that British mainstream media have censored reporting of the Jesus & Mo cartoon controversy.

For example, Channel 4 News blacked out a cartoon image of the Prophet Mohammed during a news broadcast on January 28 in order not to cause offense to Muslim viewers. In an open letter to the editor of Channel 4, the National Secular Society wrote that by "making this decision you have effectively taken a side in a debate where a Muslim man has suffered violent death threats after he explicitly said he did not find the cartoons offensive. You have taken the side of the reactionaries—the side of people who bully and violently threaten Muslims, such as Mr. Nawaz, online."

"By redacting the picture of 'Mo,' you have contributed to a climate of censorship brought on by the unreasonable and reactionary views of some religious extremists. Rather than defending free expression, one of the most precious pillars of our liberal democratic society, you have chosen instead to listen to extremists and patronize British Muslims by assuming they will take offense at an irreverent and satirical cartoon. By taking the decision you did, not only did you betray the fundamental journalistic principle of free speech, but you have become complicit in a trend that seeks to insidiously stereotype all Muslim people as reacting in one uniform way (generally presented as overly sensitive and potentially violent)."

In an article entitled, "Why I'm speaking up for Islam against the loudmouths who have hijacked it" (published byThe Guardian newspaper on January 28), Nawaz defended his decision to tweet the image of Jesus and Mo.

"My intention was to carve out a space to be heard without constantly fearing the blasphemy charge, on pain of death," Nawaz wrote. "Modern Islamist attempts to impose theocratic orthodoxy on us will be resisted."

Others are not so sure. In an essay entitled, "Publish and be Damned," Abhishek Phadnis, a free speech activist at the London School of Economics, writes:

"The media's vaunted concern for minority welfare is at odds with its indifference to the minority within Islam that is trying to reform its orthodoxy's disgraceful attitude to blasphemy—a minority that is gravely endangered and in need of friends. Theirs is a spirited rear-guard against a gigantic global power of untold wealth and influence (namely Islamism, or the "loudmouths who have hijacked" Islam, as Maajid Nawaz puts it) which has a wretched record on freedom of expression, and every intention of exporting it."

"Since 1988, it has suborned the murder of foreign cartoonists, translators, artists, publishers and filmmakers who have offended its sensibilities, and has blighted the life and career of our most gifted contemporary novelist [Salman Rushdie]. Its blasphemy code has been visited upon Western universities, publishers, magazines, museums, art galleries, television productions, operas, independent cartoonists, artists and filmmakers and even Wikipedia, and it has sought to sabotage the economies and wreck the diplomatic missions of democracies that refuse to implement that code."

"It is a damning indictment of the press's confusion that every publication has ended up on the wrong side of its own politics in this matter," Phadnis concludes.

A MAN pinned his girlfriend down and raped her in front of their baby son, and told her she must obey him because he was a Muslim, a court was told.

The Mail has decided not to identify the rapist, who is in his early 20s, so his relationship with his victim can be revealed.

She was 16 when they met, but he began beating her three months into the relationship and raped her at her home in Hull in May last year.

The victim, who gave evidence at Hull Crown Court via video link, said she had not reported the rape at the time because she did not understand such a thing could happen in a relationship.

“I didn’t understand it was rape at the time,” she said. “I didn’t understand until I told a friend.”

She later said: “I thought rape was to go outside and somebody grabs you.”

Defence barrister Mumin Hashim said she must have been traumatised by the attack.

“I was,” she said. “I was really scared and I was hurt inside. Not physically, it broke my heart because I didn’t think he would do that.”

After the rape, which lasted between 20 and 30 minutes, the man kissed her, told her he loved her, and fell asleep, while she got up to see to the baby, who was crying.

The rapist, who now lives in Buckinghamshire, was also convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm after repeatedly banging his partner’s head against the dashboard of a car.

He was also convicted of two other assaults on her.

The court was told that while the teenager was pregnant with their son, he was thousands of miles away marrying his cousin in an arranged marriage in South Asia.

When he returned, he settled in Buckinghamshire and began fortnightly visits to his son and partner in Hull, during which time he also got another woman in Buckinghamshire pregnant.

Mr Hashim asked why, after having time to reflect on the relationship, the victim did not seek help.

She replied with four words: “Young and scared. Immature.”

In tearful evidence, she said despite knowing about his marriage to another woman, she still hoped he would come back to have a normal family life with her and their child.

She said: “I just wanted him to come back because I wanted my little boy to have what I never had, which was a mum and a dad.”

The victim’s mother told the court why she thought her daughter had not ended the relationship sooner.

“She wanted this fairytale story where mummy and daddy were together,” said the victim’s mother. “I told her it wasn’t always like that.”

Outlining the victim’s evidence at the start of the case, Michele Stuart-Lofthouse, prosecuting, described how the man “became violent, hitting her and telling her he was a Muslim and she should do as she was told.”

Mr Hashim said the only reason the allegations had been made was because the woman feared the man would seek custody of the child.

The man denied ever being violent or abusive towards his victim, and told the court he still loved her.

He was convicted on all counts by a jury and was jailed for a total of five and a half years.

The man was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life and is also subject to a ten-year restraining order, preventing him from contacting the victim.

Judge Simon Jack told him: “She depended on you and relied on you for affection and support and you took advantage of that to get what you wanted from her and returned little but contempt.”

UK Court Issues Gag Order Citing Muslim “Cultural Sensitivities”


A judge in England banned reporting of a case against two Muslim lawyers accused of perverting justice to accommodate the “cultural sensitivities” of the lawyers’ family who are originally from Pakistan.

The ban was lifted after the Daily Mail, a UK newspaper, appealed the restriction. The Mail reports that granting anonymity is “a privilege rarely bestowed on defendants in the justice system, which has operated on the principle of transparency for centuries.”

Lawyers for Asha Khan, a lawyer in training, and her brother Kashif, a criminal defense lawyer, argued that the Khans should be granted anonymity as their family would pass judgment on them if the case was publicized.

The Khans were accused of lying after their father, Mohammed Khan, who does not have a drivering license was caught on camera speeding. The lawyers were accused of concoting a scheme where a family worker would take the blame for Mohammed's crime. Kashif was eventually acquitted of the charges, while Asha was convicted.

At the trial, Asha Kahan’s lawyer Glenn Gatland also said, "Miss Khan is quite upset that if matters are reported she doesn't feel she would be able to give her evidence as freely as she would have done otherwise. That's her concern. Culturally, it's very difficult for them to say things in public. The evidence would be impacted on by the cultural background of Miss Khan."

Gatland argued that his client did not want to criticize her father in public, although, according to the Daily Mail, “she was quite happy to have her mother sit in the public gallery.”

The judge reversed his decision two days later after a legal challenge by the Daily Mail, saying, "People of all faiths or no faiths should be treated in precisely the same way."

The case is reminiscent of a previous case in the English justice system where special consideration was given to a gang of Muslim girls due to “cultural sensitivities.” In that case, a group of four, drunk Somali girls viciously attacked an English woman as she waited for a taxi with her boyfriend in the city center of Leicester.

llegedly screaming, “Kill the white slag,” three sisters and a cousin, aged 24 to 28, attacked 22-year old Rhea Page, a care worker, beating and kicking her all over her body and head and pulling out her hair. The victim, left motionless on the pavement, eventually left her job working with autistic people, because of flashbacks, panic attacks and other symptoms of post-traumatic stress.

Even though the attackers admitted to the crime, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, the presiding judge in the case gave each of the girls a suspended sentence reasoning that because they were Muslim, they were not used to being drunk. Islam forbids consuming alcoholic beverages.

Being taken abroad for a forced marriage is now so common in the UK that girls are being told to alert airport security to save themselves.

Forced marriages are becoming so common in Britain that the government has put the country’s airport workers on watch for signs of the problem among young women and men. A charity for victims of abuse and forced marriages has found a creative way for victims to escape such a fate, one that takes advantage of the fact that the forced marriages rarely happen within the country.

The U.K.-based charity Karma Nirvana is urging victims of forced marriage to put a spoon in their underwear before they go to the airport to be flown off to their family’s homelands to meet their new spouses. The spoon will cause metal detectors at the airport to beep; victims will be taken away from their parents to be searched, giving them one last chance to alert airport authorities that they are being forced into marriage.

Natasha Rattu, Karma Nirvana’s operations manager, said that tricks like the spoon in the underwear are essential to help victims avoid arranged marriages because it is often impossible for them to safely stand up to their families.

Karma Nirvana gets about 6,500 calls per year from people worried that they are being forced into marriage, though that number is growing as the charity raises awareness about the issue. Last year, Britain’s Foreign Office’s Forced Marriage Unit dealt with about 1,500 cases of forced marriage.

Most forced marriages in Britain occur among residents of South Asian countries, with nearly half the forced marriages documented in Britain among Pakistani families, with Bangladesh, India and Afghanistan among the other most common countries of origin.

The marriages are most common during the summer holidays, when the victims -- more than four out of five of whom are girls or young women -- will be taken back to their homelands for "vacation," only to meet a man they may never have seen before who they will be forced to marry.

“The holidays are a really good time for young people to go missing because there is nobody accounting for where they are at school," Rattu said.

Since Ramadan ended last week, calls have risen again, including one from an 18-year-old who has is pregnant and her family is trying to force her into marriage to conceal it.

The charity is also working with airport officials in Britain to educate them about potential signs of forced marriage, including one-way tickets, travelling during the summer, whether the travellers look uncomfortable and, of course, whether they have spoons in their underwear.

When petrified youngsters call, "If they don't know exactly when it may happen or if it's going to happen, we advise them to put a spoon in their underwear," Rattu said.

"When they go through security, it will highlight this object in a private area and, if 16 or over, they will be taken to a safe space where they have that one last opportunity to disclose they're being forced to marry," she said.

Refusal to marry can lead to abuse from family members and honor killings, as one woman told reporters that her father warned her that if she tried running away to avoid her marriage, he would find her and kill her.

Rape Epidemic in UK Perpetrated by "Asian" Taxi Drivers

Great Britain is in the throes of a rape and pedophilia epidemic unlike anything the country has experienced in living memory.

Many of the sex crimes are being perpetrated by Muslim child grooming gangs responsible for drugging, raping and torturing hundreds and possibly thousands of British girls.

But another wave of sex crimes involves predatory Muslim taxi drivers who are raping female passengers. The number of so-called taxi rapes is snowballing to such an extent that a British judge has issued a warning that no woman can expect to be safe while traveling in a cab.

Reliable statistics on taxi rapes nationwide are difficult to obtain, and Freedom of Information requests seeking accurate data on cab-related sexual assaults are routinely denied (here and here).

However, a much acclaimed report produced by the London Metropolitan Police Service estimates that on average there are a total of 1,125 sexual assaults, including rapes, each year involving taxi drivers in just London; this works out to approximately 22 sexual assaults against women by taxi drivers each week in England's capital city alone.

Moreover, according to a report entitled, "Ending Violence against Women and Girls in the UK," published by the Home Office in March 2013, only around one in ten women who experience serious sexual assault report it to the police. As a result, one can infer that the actual number of taxi rapes across Britain as a whole is far greater than many are willing to admit.

Apart from a few high-profile cases, taxi rapes are rarely reported by national newspapers in Britain, apparently because the politically incorrect crimes are not deemed to be newsworthy.

But a survey of stories buried deep inside local newspapers shows that taxi rapes are occurring in all parts of England, Wales and Scotland on an almost daily basis.

In a recent case in London that was reported by national newspapers, Mohamed Hacene-Chaouch, 46, was sentenced to seven years in prison for raping a 24-year-old female passenger in his unlicensed taxi. Hacene-Chaouch -- an Algerian married father of five -- assaulted the woman after she got lost in Soho, central London.

The woman, who had been celebrating a friend's birthday and had become inebriated, told the jury that the last thing she remembered was being in the back of a car and being taken to an ATM machine. She said she drifted in and out of consciousness but woke up inside the car in front of her east London home to find Hacene-Chaouch raping her. Although Hacene-Chaouch denied the allegations, the crime was filmed by CCTV cameras.

Judge Wendy Joseph at the Old Bailey accused Hacene-Chaouch of being a sexual predator and said: "It must have been clear to you that she was helplessly and hopelessly drunk. She trusted you to take her safely home. She was clearly vulnerable, she was obviously helpless and in your power, and I regard this as a significant feature." Joseph added: "I haven't heard a single word of remorse in any way, shape or form."

Hacene-Chaouch -- who was acquitted of an almost identical attack in London in 2004 -- showed no emotion and stared straight ahead as the judge read the sentence. But as he was told he would be banned from working or seeking work as a taxi driver for 10 years, he gestured to his wife, who was watching the proceedings in the public gallery, and shouted: "Allah is great! I am innocent!"

In nearby Windsor, Anshul Sharma, 23, was charged with raping a 19-year-old woman who mistook his car for a legitimate taxi. She had been searching for a cab in the early hours of the morning when she was approached by Sharma, who claimed he was driving a licensed taxi. After she was in the car, he drove her to a remote location where he raped her.

In Blackburn on July 9, Talib Hussain, 62, was charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl, a passenger in his taxi. In Blackpool on July 8, Turkish-born Fatih Top, 38, was charged with raping an 18-year-old woman who was a passenger in his cab.

In Shrewsbury on July 6, Ahmet Baser, 34, was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison for raping an underage girl in his taxi. The victim and her friend were picked up by Baser's taxi outside a downtown night spot. After dropping off her friend, Baser went on to drive his victim into the remote countryside, where he raped her before taking her home.

In Nottingham on June 12, police said they were looking for an "Asian" taxi driver who sexually assaulted a 19-year-old passenger in his cab.

In Berkshire on May 21, Arshad Arif, 28, appeared at the Reading Crown Court on charges of driving a 17-year-old passenger in his cab to a remote park some 25 miles from her home and raping her twice. Arif was identified after it emerged he had earlier allowed the schoolgirl to use his phone, with her father noting down the number.

In Oldham on May 16, Tamur Yaqub, 32, was sentenced to eight years in prison after being convicted of attempting to rape a 15-year-old girl in the back of his car. The jury heard that Yaqub -- a married father of six -- had dragged the girl into his private-hire taxi after spotting her walking home. Judge Jeffrey Lewis of the Manchester Crown Court said: "You used considerable force against a girl who was no match for you. You subjected her to degradation and you have shown not the slightest remorse."

In Hemel Hempstead on May 7, Mashain Pitchei, 45, was sentenced to four years in prison for raping a 20-year-old female passenger. Pitchei, who pretended to be a taxi driver, was parked in the downtown Marlowes district when he offered a lift to the victim, who had been on a night out with friends. Believing it was a licensed taxi, she got into the vehicle and he drove off. Pitchei then pulled over in a suburb where he raped her.

In Heaton on April 11, Mohammed Akram, 35, pled guilty to sexually assaulting a woman in his taxi. After the woman entered the vehicle, Akram -- a married father of four -- drove to a remote location, where he attacked her.

In Peterborough on February 20, Mohammed Umar Anwar, 31, lost an appeal against the City Council's decision to revoke his taxi license after he admitted to police that he got a 15-year-old female passenger to perform a sex act on him when she had no money to pay the fare.

In Manchester on February 18, Elhadi Sakhri, 42, was sentenced to seven years and ten months for two counts of raping men who were passengers in his taxi. Sakhri -- who was granted asylum in Britain after complaining he faced persecution in Algeria because he was bisexual -- forced once of his victims up against a wall and raped him. He dragged the other victim by his arms down an alleyway where he raped him.

In London on February 6, police said they were looking for an "Asian" man accused of sexually assaulting three women in the Canning Town district.

In Leeds on January 9, Mohammed Shahin, 28, was sentenced to seven years in prison for raping a 20-year-old passenger who fell asleep in his taxi as he drove her home. A jury at the Nottingham Crown Court heard that from the moment the woman got in, Shahin switched off the GPS tracking system that monitored his vehicle's movements, suggesting he had a sinister motive from the outset. When she woke up, she found that Shahin had parked in a remote street in an unknown location. He then climbed into the back of the car and raped her before dropping her off near her home. The judge ordered that Shahin, after serving his sentence, be deported to his home country of Bangladesh.

In Accrington, Mohammed Ishaq, 38, was accused of raping a 35-year-old female passenger after taking her home. Also in Accrington, Mohammed Baig, 45, was accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old passenger. After dropping her off at her home, Baig left the victim with the words, "I'll look for you. I'll come and find you."

In Billingham, Khalile Maqsood, 31, was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison for abducting and raping a 20-year-old female passenger at knifepoint. Maqsood -- a married father of four -- offered the victim a lift. But when she got into the taxi he took a series of wrong turns, then stopped in a deserted parking garage and turned off the engine.

Maqsood told jurors that the victim had led him on and had been "really up for it." He added: "I'm only human at the end of the day. She'd come on to me. I made a mistake. I just gave in to temptation. She led me on. She consented to it. That's what she wanted."

The cab driver -- whose wife was pregnant with their fourth child when he committed the offense -- was expressionless as he was led from the dock. Judge Rodney Jameson of the Newcastle Crown Court said Maqsood had shown little understanding of, and no remorse for, what he had done.

In East Sussex, Abul Malik, 29, was jailed for seven years after being found guilty of raping a 19-year-old female passenger when she could not pay for her £6.80 ($10) fare home.

In Edinburgh, Ibrahim Selman fled Scotland after raping a woman and assaulting several others while working as a taxi driver. Selman, who was in the UK as an illegal immigrant, went on the run to the Sudan days after holding a female passenger hostage, repeatedly raping her and leaving her for dead in the street.

In Hull, Masoud Rahimi, 37, was convicted of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old female passenger. The Iranian-born Rahimi denied it was him until the CCTV footage was shown to him, with the girl fleeing from his car as he was filling up the tank with gasoline.

In London, Salam Rahman, 27, and Mohammed Elahi, 26, were jailed for nine years for gang-raping two female passengers, one of whom was a 26-year-old newlywed. In Clapham, south London, Atiq Rehman, 20, tricked a 22-year-old woman into thinking he was a legitimate taxi driver. Rehman, an illegal immigrant from Pakistan who was twice refused asylum in Britain, raped the woman for 45 minutes while asking her how many children she wanted to have.

Also in London, Assadullah Razaq, 31, was sentenced to eight years in jail for raping a 28-year-old female passenger. The defense attorney said that Razaq, an Afghan refugee and a married father of three, admitted to having sex with the woman, but maintained it was not rape. His attorney said Razaq came to Britain after being tortured by the Taliban, and that something had affected his mental state.

At King's Cross in central London, police said they were looking for a Turkish cab driver who raped an 18-year-old passenger after driving her to a remote location. After the attack, he took her to Gloucester Place in Westminster where he pushed her from his vehicle and left her lying in a gutter.

In Manchester, Shahjahan Islam was sentenced to nine years in prison for sexually assaulting a 27-year-old female passenger. The victim had been out with friends when she decided to go home and got into a taxi driven by Islam. She gave Islam her address, he programmed it into his GPS and departed. After several minutes the woman realized they were going the wrong way. Eventually he stopped the car, climbed into the passenger seat and tried to rape her. DNA recovered from the woman led officers to identify Islam as the suspect.

In Newport, South Wales, Asif Iqbal, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for raping two female passengers on late-night rides home. Iqbal's wife was also jailed for six months after admitting to perverting the course of justice by offering money to one of the victims to withdraw her complaint. Police fear many more women may have been attacked by Iqbal, who targeted women outside pubs and nightclubs in the hope they would be drunk.

In Portsmouth, Muhammed Hasan, 35, was accused of locking a 19-year-old woman with learning disabilities into his cab and sexually assaulting her. In St. Helens, Mazish Muzaffar, 43, was charged with assaulting a female passenger in his taxi.

In Sheffield, Zahoor Mahmood, 40, was jailed for eight years for sexually assaulting two female passengers. Instead of taking his first victim to her home, he locked her in his cab for more than two hours, got into the back with her and tried to get her to snort cocaine to get her "in the mood." Three weeks later, Mahmood -- a married father of four -- spotted a 17-year-old girl walking home after a night out. He offered to take her home for free when she said she had no money for the fare, but then locked her in his cab for an hour, tried to get her to snort cocaine and then molested her. Before the attacks, Mahmood, who has been driving taxis in Sheffield for more than 15 years, had twice been stripped of his license after being convicted of drug offenses, but twice won appeals that allowed him to continue working.

In Teesside, Pakistani-born Liaqat Ali, 42, was sentenced to seven years in prison for raping a 16-year-old passenger as she dozed off drunk in his taxi. Ali -- a married father of four -- stopped for the girl in Middlesbrough and drove her to a secluded spot, where he attacked her. Ali admitted to picking the victim up but denied anything had happened. Once results of DNA evidence were obtained, he admitted to having lied.

The list goes on and on. Not surprisingly, more and more women-only taxi cab firms are springing up around the UK to cater to women who prefer to see another female at the wheel. Women-only taxi firms now include London Lady Chauffeurs, Pink Ladies in Warrington and Ladies Only Travel in Bradford.

A women-only taxi service has yet to arrive in Bristol, where BBC Radio host Sam Mason was fired after she called a taxi company and requested a "non-Asian" driver to take her 14-year-old daughter to her grandparents' home. Mason, a single mother, told the operator that "a guy with a turban on would freak her daughter out," and insisted they send an English driver -- preferably a female English driver -- instead.

The operator refused to book a car and said: "We would class that as being racist. We can't just penalize the Asian drivers and just send an English one." Mason responded: "It's not your 14-year-old girl, is it?" To which the operator answered: "Yes, but that's racist to say you don't want an Asian driver."

The BBC was alerted to the conversation after it was recorded and sent to newspaper.

Mason was subsequently suspended and fired 24 hours later. A BBC spokesman said: "Although Sam Mason's remarks were not made on-air, her comments were completely unacceptable and, for that reason, she has been informed that she will no longer be working for the BBC with immediate effect."

14 Year Old British Girl Arrested and Thrown In Jail Cell For Refusing To Study With Muslim Students, Charged With Racism

Once again, we see the British over the top when it comes to politically correctness and their coddling of the Muslim population in their midst as a 14 year old school girl in Greater Manchester was arrested and actually thrown into a jail cell after her teachers reported to police that she would not study with Muslim students (did I mention she was fed up with the fact that these other kids wouldn't speak English?).

Does anyone remember the speech by German leader Merckel where she said that multiculturalism had been a failure in Germany?  Perhaps someone should tell the Brits.

A teenage schoolgirl was arrested by police for racism after refusing to sit with a group of Asian students because some of them did not speak English.

Codie Stott's family claim she was forced to spend three-and-a-half hours in a police cell after she was reported by her teachers.

The 14-year-old - who was released without charge - said it had been a simple matter of commonsense and accused the school and police of an over-the-top reaction.

The incident happened in the same local education authority where a ten-year-old boy was prosecuted earlier this year for calling a schoolfriend racist names in the playground, a move branded by a judge "political correctness gone mad."

Codie was attending a GCSE science class at Harrop Fold High School in Worsley, Greater Manchester, when the incident happened.

The teenager had not been in school the day before due to a hospital appointment and had missed the start of a project, so the teacher allocated her a group to sit with.

"She said I had to sit there with five Asian pupils," said Codie yesterday.

"Only one could speak English, so she had to tell that one what to do so she could explain in their language. Then she sat me with them and said 'Discuss'."

According to Codie, the five - four boys and a girl - then began talking in a language she didn't understand, thought to be Urdu, so she went to speak to the teacher.

"I said 'I'm not being funny, but can I change groups because I can't understand them?' But she started shouting and screaming, saying 'It's racist, you're going to get done by the police'."

Codie said she went outside to calm down where another teacher found her and, after speaking to her class teacher, put her in isolation for the rest of the day.

A complaint was made to a police officer based full-time at the school, and more than a week after the incident on September 26 she was taken to Swinton police station and placed under arrest.

"They told me to take my laces out of my shoes and remove my jewellery, and I had my fingerprints and photograph taken," said Codie. "It was awful."

After questioning on suspicion of committing a section five racial public order offence, her mother Nicola says she was placed in a bare cell for three-and-a-half hours then released without charge.

She only returned to lessons this week and has been put in a different science class.

Yesterday Miss Stott, 37, a cleaner, said: "Codie was not being racist." "The reaction from the school and police is totally over the top and I am furious my daughter had to go through this trauma when all she was saying was common sense. "

"She'd have been better off not saying anything and getting into trouble for not being able to do the work."

Miss Stott, who is separated from Codie and her 18-year-old brother Ashley's father, lives with her partner Keith Seanor, a 36-year-old cable layer, in Walkden.

School insiders acknowledge that at least three of the students Codie refused to sit with had recently arrived in this country and spoke little English.

But they say her comments afterwards raised further concerns, for example allegedly referring to the students as "blacks" - something she denied yesterday.

The school is now investigating exactly what happened before deciding what action - if any - to take against Codie.

Headteacher Dr Antony Edkins said: "An allegation of a serious nature was made concerning a racially motivated remark by one student towards a group of Asian students new to the school and new to the country."

"We aim to ensure a caring and tolerant attitude towards people and pupils of all ethnic backgrounds and will not stand for racism in any form."

Fewer than two per cent of pupils at Harrop Fold come from an ethnic minority.

It had the worst GCSE results in the entire Salford LEA last year with just 15 per cent of pupils achieving five good passes including English and maths, a third of the national average.

Since being placed in special measures, Ofsted inspectors say it has improved, not least as a result of Dr Edkins's "outstanding" leadership.

Salford was at the centre of a storm last April after a ten-year-old boy was hauled before a court for allegedly calling an 11-year-old mixed race pupil a 'Paki' and 'Bin Laden' in a playground argument at a primary school in Irlam.

When the case came before District Judge Jonathan Finestein he said the decision to prosecute showed "how stupid the whole system is getting".

But was himself fiercely attacked by teaching union leaders for "feeding a pernicious agenda" that aided the BNP.

The prosecution was eventually dropped.

Last night Robert Whelan, deputy director of the Civitas think-tank, said: "It's obviously common sense that pupils who don't speak English cause problems for other pupils and for teachers."

"I'm sure this sort of thing happens all the time, but it's a sad reflection on the school if they can't deal with it without involving the police."

"A lot of these arrests don't result in prosecutions - they aim is to frighten us into self-censorship until we watch everything we say."

Greater Manchester Police denied Codie had been kept in a cell but would not comment further.
