Four dead as Thailand hit by eight bomb blasts

BANGKOK: A string of bomb attacks targeting Thailand's crucial tourism industry have killed four people, officials said Friday, sending authorities scrambling to identify a motive and find the perpetrators.

Twin bombs exploded in the upscale resort of Hua Hin late Thursday, killing one woman and wounding more than 20 others, including nine foreign tourists, and were followed by two more on Friday morning that killed another person.

A further two blasts struck Friday in the popular tourist town of Phuket, while two more bombs were reported in the southern provinces of Trang and Surat Thani, in each of which one person was killed.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha called for calm and said he did not know who was behind the attacks.

"The bombs are an attempt to create chaos and confusion," he told reporters. "We should not make people panic more."

"Why the bombs occurred as our country is heading towards stability, a better economy and tourism — and who did it — you have to find out for me," he added.

The two bombs that went off in Hua Hin on Thursday evening were hidden in potted plants and went off within 30 minutes of each other in the bar district of the popular beach town.

While small bombings are common in the kingdom during periods of heightened political tension, there have been few such incidents in the past year and it is rare for tourists to be targeted.

Hua Hin is home to the summer palace of Thailand's revered royal family and the blast came on the eve of Queen Sirikit's 84th birthday and just ahead of the first anniversary of a Bangkok shrine bombing that killed 20.

Authorities were searching for leads on the attackers and a motive behind the latest blasts.

Hua Hin's district chief, Sutthipong Klai-udom, told AFP that the bombs on Thursday evening were detonated by mobile phone.

According to staff at local hospitals, German, Italian, Dutch and Austrian nationals were among the wounded.

"It was very shocking. There was a loud noise and police were running everywhere, it was terrible," said Michael Edwards, an Australian tourist staying in a guest house close to where the second bomb detonated.

"I was just surprised that it happened here... now I'm thinking if it's worth staying," he told AFP.
Record tourism

Hua Hin is an upscale resort town about 200 kilometres south of Bangkok, popular with both local and foreign tourists.

It is also home to a palace for years favoured by Thailand's revered King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the world's longest reigning monarch.

The 88-year-old is currently hospitalised in Bangkok for a myriad of health complications, a pressing source of anxiety for many Thais and a key factor in the kingdom's past decade of political turmoil.

Thailand's reputation as the "Land of Smiles" has suffered in recent years from crimes against foreigners and political unrest. But tourists continue to flock to its white, sandy beaches and Buddhist temples.

The kingdom is expecting a record 32 million visitors in 2016, with the tourism industry a bright spot in an otherwise lacklustre economy.

The latest blasts came just days before the first anniversary of the last major attack on tourists in Thailand — an August 17 bomb that killed 20 people, mostly ethnic Chinese tourists.

The blast ripped through a crowded Hindu shrine in the heart of Bangkok and stunned the kingdom as the deadliest assault in recent history.

Two Uighur men from western China have been accused of the attack and are due to go on trial later this month.

Both deny any involvement in the bombing and mystery continues to swirl around the case, with authorities failing to catch a number of other suspects or offer a thorough explanation for a motive.

Thailand's military junta, which seized power in 2014 after a decade of at times violent political unrest, has touted an increase in stability in the kingdom as a major accomplishment of its rule.

Yet the generals have failed to quell a long-running Islamist insurgency in Thailand's three southernmost provinces — a region far from Bangkok or Hua Hin.

The conflict is largely contained to the far south but violence has occasionally spilled into other areas.

Zachary Abuza, an expert on militants in Southeast Asia, said it would be "very unusual" for the insurgents to target Hua Hin.

If southern rebels were behind the recent blasts, "it is almost definitely a small cell operating on their own initiative", he told AFP.

Thai Muslims Hunting Down Buddhists

I've said it time and time again that Muslims don't care who or what you are, if you aren't Muslim, you are on their list to kill.  We have had numerous accounts over the years of Buddhist monks being slaughtered by Muslims - the question was always...what kind of a threat to Islam would a Buddhist monk be?

Well, now we are seeing Muslim gangs in Thailand not focusing just on monks anymore but going after anyone who is Buddhist in the country.

Militants hunt Buddhists in Narathiwat


NARATHIWAT - A gang of Islamic militants burned down the Bacho Tambon Administration Organisation office on Thursday, after failing to find any Buddhist employees to kill.

Seven armed men stormed into the offices of the Bacho TAO in Bacho district shortly after noon.

Abdulwaha Dulayapinij, the office’s chief administrator, told the police he and seven other employees were just leaving for lunch.

''One of them fired a gun into the air and ordered everyone to stay put in Yawi [a Malay dialect spoken by Muslims in the South] and then asked if there were any Buddhist Thais working here,” Mr Abdulwaha said.

“I told him there were none, and the outlaw was upset and said I had lied to him.”

Mr Abdulwaha then explained there was a female Buddhist Thai civil servant identified as Suchada sae Li working at the TAO as a community development officer, level 3, but she was on leave.

Upset with the answer, two of the gunmen emptied a five-litre container of gasoline into the archive and equipment storage rooms, set fire to it, and then fled the scene.

Staff, villagers and a local disaster relief team tried to put out the fire, but the blaze spread quickly and destroyed the whole building.

Mr Abdulwaha said it appeared the assailants wanted to kill Ms Suchada who was the only Buddhist official at the Bacho TAO, and had planned to use the gasoline to burn her body.

He said the attack left him and the other staff in fear for their own safety and it was likely they would not return to work until the office was rebuilt.

Thailand coup fears as Prime Minister orders security crackdown


Yingluck Shinawatra went on TV to say that Saturday's rally by the opposition Protect Siam group is a threat to Thailand's security and that she would be invoking the Internal Security Act (ISA) in three districts of central Bangkok in response to the perceived threat.

The special law gives the security forces wider powers of arrest and enables them to impose curfews, ban public gatherings and block off areas of the city.

Political analysts said that the use of the ISA was an attempt by Ms Yingluck to ensure the loyalty of the army, who ousted her elder brother and exiled former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra in a coup in 2006.

"By invoking the ISA, Yingluck is forcing the army to back her," said Professor of political science Pitch Pongsawat of Bangkok's Chulalongkorn University.

The timing of the rally is significant, coming just one day before the start of a three day censure debate in parliament called by the opposition Democrat Party, in response to what they allege is Ms Yingluck's incompetent handling of government affairs.

Organisers of the rally expect half a million people to gather in Bangkok's Royal Plaza. While police anticipate a turnout of no more than 100,000, the protest will re-expose the deep divisions within Thai society that led to deadly clashes between Thaksin supporters known as red shirts and the conservative, pro-Royalist yellow shirts in Bangkok in 2010.

Tida Tawornseth, the chairwoman of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), the red shirt political organisation, told the Daily Telegraph that the UDD were opposed to the demonstration going ahead.

"It's not right in principle because the current government was rightfully-elected by a majority of the people," she said. Mrs Tida said red shirts would stay away from the rally but would be on standby if there was any sign of an attempted coup.

Protect Siam is the latest umbrella grouping of the opponents of Ms Yingluck's government. While its leader retired General Boonlert Kaewprasit has denied calling for a coup, he does want to "freeze" what he says are corrupt politicians from serving in Ms Yingluck's government, which he claims is merely a proxy for the former Thaksin regime.

With a large majority in the Thai Parliament, Ms Yingluck has outmanoeuvred the Democrat Party recently, promoting several former Thaksin loyalists to the cabinet in the last month. Her own personal status has been bolstered by last week's meeting with both Queen Elizabeth and President Obama, who pointedly referred to her as the democratically-elected leader of Thailand.

Southern Thailand Rocked By Massive Car Bombings by Muslim Terrorists, 14 Dead and 340 Wounded

Once again, Thailand has joined the active list of countries of this world to feel the wrath of Islam as a wave of huge suicide car bombings conducted by Islamic terrorists killed a total of 14 people and close to 350 people were wounded. The attacks absolutely mirror the tactics of al Qaeda as in one incident, one car bombing went off and 20 minutes later, when the area was full of police, emergency personnel and onlookers, the second car bomb went off killing the majority of the victims.

A blast also occurred Saturday at a high-rise hotel in the city of Hat Yai, in the nearby province of Songkhla. Officials had initially attributed that blast to a gas leak, saying it was unrelated to the attacks blamed on insurgents. But after inspecting the hotel’s underground parking lot, authorities found a severely damaged sedan and a hole created by the explosion’s impact.

The mid-day explosion at the 405-room Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel, where throngs of Malaysian and Singaporean tourists spend their weekends, killed three people and caused about 230 injuries, mostly from smoke inhalation, said police Lt. Puwadon Wiriyawarangkun.

These attacks from today show the absolute indiscriminate nature of islamic terror - Thailand isn't exactly the center for Christianity or Judaism - Thailand doesn't have troops in Afghanistan or in Iraq - Thailand is about as benign as you can get yet they still have their innocent civilians taken from them by the Mohammedans.

I'm guessing that by the end of the day there will be a Muslim terror group more than happy to claim responsibility for this blood letting and unfortunately for the Thai people, it will only be a taste of things to come.

Regional police chief Lt. Gen. Jakthip Chaijinda said the Hat Yai incident “is likely related to what happened in Yala and might have been plotted by the same group of insurgents.”

Police said the blast that occurred at the underground level of the hotel ripped the building’s cooking gas pipeline, causing a fire that sent smoke spiralling into the upper floors and trapping many people in their rooms until rescuers came. One of the fatalities was identified as a Malaysian tourist.

A McDonald’s restaurant on the hotel’s ground floor appeared to have suffered heavy damage from the blast.

The hotel was also targeted in 2006, when four people, including a Canadian man, were killed by six bombs that had been planted on Hat Yai’s main street. Hat Yai and the rest of Songkhla province have generally been spared the violence that has wracked Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala.

In Saturday’s third incident, suspected Muslim militants detonated a motorcycle bomb 50 meters away from a local police station in Pattani province’s Mae Lan district, wounding one police officer, according to police Col. Tharet Kaewla-eiad.

The Yala bombings occurred on a road that was previously heavily guarded by checkpoints and closed to traffic to ensure safety. But the security was lifted in 2011 after local vendors said the measures harmed their businesses.

Initial accounts of the Yala attack cited three blasts with explosives planted in cars and motorcycles, but officials later corrected themselves.

In October last year, suspected militants staged coordinated attacks at more than 30 spots across Yala city, killing three people and injuring more than 50. A month earlier, a trio of bombs hidden in vehicles hit a busy section of Sungai Kolok in Narathiwat province, killing four people and leaving more than 60 wounded.

More than 5,000 people have been killed inThailand’s three southernmost provinces Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala, since an Islamist insurgency flared in January 2004.

“This is the worst attack in the past few years,” said Col. Pramote Promin, deputy spokesman of a regional security agency. “The suspected insurgents were targeting people’s lives. They (chose) a bustling commercial area, so they wanted to harm people.”

Most attacks are small-scale bombings or drive-by shootings that target soldiers, police and symbols of authority, but suspected insurgents have also staged large attacks in commercial areas.

Thai authorities have imposed a state of emergency since 2005 that gives security forces special powers to arrest and detain suspects in the three provinces. But the decree and a massive security presence have failed to curb the violence and little is known about the militants or their goals.

The insurgents have made no public pronouncements but are thought to be fighting for an independent Muslim state. The area used to be an Islamic sultanate until it was annexed by Thailand in the early 20th century.

Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani are the only Muslim-dominated provinces in the predominantly Buddhist country. Muslims in the area have long complained of discrimination by the central government.

Iranian Terrorists Charged With Attempt To Kill Israeli Ambassador and Diplomats In Thailand, Plan Was To Attach Bombs To Cars

As the Iranians continue their attacks worldwide on Israeli diplomats and personnel, two Iranian bomb suspects were charged in Bangkok, Thailand with the attempted bombing of Israeli embassy vehicles.

Thailand has charged two Iranian bomb suspects in connection with a failed plot in Bangkok, a Thai government minister said on Wednesday.

“They are charged with causing an illegal explosion in a public area and attempting to kill police officers and members of the public,” Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul told reporters.

Iranian suspects behind a failed attack in Bangkok aimed to assassinate Israeli diplomats, a Thai official said on Wednesday, in the third bomb plot to shake world capitals this week.

The explosions in Bangkok on Tuesday came a day after bombers targeted Israeli embassy staff in India and Georgia, with a female diplomat seriously wounded in New Delhi, in attacks for which Israel accuses Iran.

“These three Iranian men are an assassination team and their targets were Israeli diplomats including the ambassador,” a senior Thai intelligence official told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“Their plan was to attach bombs to diplomats’ cars.”

Now, it seems almost a little too obvious that this is retaliation by the Iranians for the bombs affixed to the vehicles of some of the Iranian nuclear scientists that have been killed in Iran in this method and at the same time, I guess one would have to surmise that the Iranians are trying to provoke some sort of Israeli response.

With all of the pressure mounting in the world - with more talk of Western attacks on Iran now than talk of more sanctions, it is reasonable to assume that the Iranians have decided that they need to take some sort of offensive strategy to try and control the situation. Let's face it, if you are amongst the mullahs in Iran, you have resigned yourself to the fact that you will be attacked at some point over the nukes. I do believe the Iranians are seeking some sort of provoked action out of Israel that will bring a chorus of Arab and Muslim support of Iran against Israel.

“These three Iranian men are an assassination team and their targets were Israeli diplomats including the ambassador,” a senior Thai intelligence official told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“Their plan was to attach bombs to diplomats’ cars.” Iran, which has already denied responsibility for the Delhi and Tbilisi incidents, said it had no link to the Bangkok blasts and blamed what it called “elements linked with the (Israeli) Zionist regime”.

Iranian Foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast,“rejected the accusations by the Zionist regime of implication (of Iran) and accused that regime of trying to harm the friendly and historic relations between Iran and Thailand,” according to the Iranian state television website.

Thai bomb squad experts were called out to the Sukhumvit Road area in the east of the city in response to an apparently unintended blast at a house rented by an Iranian, after which three men were seen fleeing, authorities said.

One of the men hurled an explosive device at a taxi, which refused to stop, and then tried to throw another at police, triggering a blast at the side of a busy road which tore off his legs, they said.

Authorities detained a second Iranian man trying to board a flight out of the country while the third suspect is believed to have fled to Malaysia.

Explosives and magnets were later found inside the partially destroyed house, police said.

Individuals appeared to be the target of the botched plot as the devices were not powerful enough to cause large-scale damage, said Thailand’s National Security Council chief Wichean Potephosree.

“Yesterday’s incident was caused by current international tensions in world politics,” he told a news conference.

“It’s happening not only in Thailand but also elsewhere. Thailand’s weak point is that we are an open country to help our economy so I urge all Thais to be vigilant and inform the authorities if they see anything suspicious.”

Bangkok has been on the watch for a terror attack since police last month charged a Lebanese man suspected of planning a strike, following a US warning that tourist areas might be targeted.

Thai authorities alleged the Lebanese man had links to Hezbollah, an Iranian- and Syrian-backed Muslim Shiite group that is blacklisted as a terrorist organisation by Washington.

Israel was quick to accuse Iran of involvement in Tuesday’s blasts in Bangkok.

“The attempted attack in Bangkok proves once again that Iran and its proxies are continuing to act in the ways of terror and the latest attacks are an example of that,” Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak said.

The blast in New Delhi blew up a car, critically wounding the Israeli diplomat and her Indian driver.

In Tbilisi, an Israeli embassy employee found a bomb on his car and contacted police who were able to defuse the device before it detonated, according to Georgia’s interior ministry.

Thai police said they had found no direct link between Tuesday’s bombings and the earlier threat but had received a separate warning from intelligence sources about a potential new attack and declined to speculate on any ties of the suspects with militant groups.

The United States condemned the Bangkok blasts and voiced concern about a worldwide “uptick” in such violence, including some with alleged links to Iran.

“We’re concerned about it. Some of these (attacks) have been linked to Iran,” State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said.

The Bangkok blasts are another blow to the kingdom’s tourist-friendly image, which was badly dented last year by devastating flooding across much of the country, as well as rounds of rival political protests in recent years.

Buddhist Mother In Thailand Shot To Death By Muslims In Front of Her 8 Yr Old Son, Grandfather Murdered As Well

Remember, Congressman Ron Paul tells us all that islamists strike out in violence because their lands have been invaded - well, perhaps Mr. Paul would like to explain why a gang of Muslims in Thailand decided to shoot to death an old grandfather at a gas station then go inside the store and shoot his daughter right in front of her 8 year old son. What have Buddhists done to islamists? Or, Congressman Paul, could it just be that Buddhists are infidels and are subject to submission or death to Muslims?

The fact of the matter is that Buddhists are slaughtered nearly every week in the nation of Thailand by islamic extremists. We have numerous accounts of Buddhist monks being killed in cold blood by the Muslims of Thailand.

One has to wonder just how proud Mohammed would be as he watched a young follower of his put a bullet through the brain of that Buddhist mother in that store...and that 8 year old son watched his mother's head separate and her brains ooze out. Would Mohammed have qualified this as Jihad?

Three Buddhists slain by Muslim insurgents in Narathiwat


Narathiwat - Three Buddhists were shot dead by Muslim insurgents inside a grocery store in Narathiwat Sunday.

Police said four insurgents arrived on two motorcycles and pretended to buy goods and petrol from the store, which also sells petrol, and shot the three at point blank.

Malee Masi, 49, was shot dead in front of her 8-year-old son, who was found by police as hugging the body of his mother crying when police arrived at the scene.

Srithong Masi, Malee's father-in-law, 75, was shot at his head while he was about to fill up the petrol for one of the motorcycles.

Thirapong Saelim, 42, a customer, was also shot at his head.

Malaysian Muslim Men Going To Brothels In Thailand Are Islamic Terror's Latest Target

I guess I wasn't exactly aware that the brothels of Bangkok, Thailand had been doing a booming business with Muslim men coming in from Malaysia but now the Malaysian government has warned all of the males from the country from traveling to Thailand...because islamic terrorists are bombing the hell out of them.

Five were killed in the bombings, four of them Malaysian. Roughly 110 were wounded, some severely. If Islamic insurgents aimed only for men on the prowl, they failed: A 3-year-old Malaysian boy was among the dead.

I guess this is the new form of "purity police" in Thailand ...Islamic terrorists planting bombs outside of bars and brothels in order to stop behavior that goes against allah. Unfortunately, as you saw above, the bombs don't exactly pinpoint just muslim "johns" but just about anyone that happens to be in the area at the time.

Televised mobile-phone footage shows pyres raging in front of a bar fitted with Christmas lights, Thai code signaling the availability of cheap beer and hands-on female hostesses. A half-naked man, his clothes singed and shredded, is seen sprawled nearby in the street.

Five were killed in the bombings, four of them Malaysian. Roughly 110 were wounded, some severely. If Islamic insurgents aimed only for men on the prowl, they failed: A 3-year-old Malaysian boy was among the dead.

The attack is surprising, even for insurgents known for beheading Buddhist monks and torching village headmen in the street. Though Malaysian tourists have been targeted before, such strikes are rare and have never caused so many foreign deaths in one night.

You know, I swear it was just a day or two ago I wrote here at the blog that it had been quiet as hell in Thailand recently in regards to islamists killing Buddhists and Buddhist monks, and then, just like retribution for making that statement, muslims in Thailand detonated an IED killing 9 Buddhist civilians in a pick up truck.

It was the region's deadliest attack since gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons at a mosque during evening prayers on June 9, 2009, killing 11 people.

More than 4,300 people have been killed since 2004 as ethnic Malay Muslims fight for autonomy from Thailand's Buddhist majority in the rubber-rich region.

It was the second major attack in six days and will be a blow to the government and security forces, who say the level of violence has fallen significantly in recent months, citing tighter security and a spate of public relation campaigns.

As you can see, I missed another attack the other day in Thailand - sorry, but when you try to keep up with all of the killing that muslims do around the world each and every day it's almost impossible. I figure, if my blog was focused on the worldwide terror attacks committed by Christians and Hindus and Jews, I'd have a lot more time for a real life. haha

Four soldiers were killed and five wounded last Wednesday when rebels armed with grenades and assault rifles stormed an army outpost in Narathiwat province. Media said at least 20 rifles were stolen.

Police said Tuesday's bomb was planted in the road and detonated remotely by a cellphone, destroying the truck. Roadside blasts are common in the region, but military and police patrols are usually the targets.

The violence is believed the work of ethnic Malay militants, although no group has made a credible claim of responsibility for the attacks.

The region was an independent Muslim sultanate until annexed by predominantly Buddhist Thailand a century ago.

About 80 percent of the people in the three southern provinces of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat are Muslim.

Attacks are typically drive-by shootings, ambushes and roadside blasts although car bombings and beheadings have taken place in recent years, despite the presence of 40,000 troops.

Cambodian Soldier Killed, 3 Wounded In Clash With Thai Forces

Okay, this is probably the shortest article I've ever put up at Holger Awakens and it certainly has little to do with the Global War on Terror but I have this gut feeling that this is one of those skirmishes that could blow up on us. The Cambodians and the Thais have been feuding for quite some time now and both sides have built up along their borders and today, blood was spilled. 1 Cambodian soldier dead, at least 3 wounded in Thai border clash

PHNOM PENH, Oct. 15 (AP) - (Kyodo)—One Cambodian soldier was killed and at least three others were wounded Wednesday in a brief clash with Thai troops on their disputed border, a Cambodian military official told Kyodo News.

Part of the reason for my focus on this is due to the fact that often, in our unstable world, it's a feud between two smaller, more insignificant countries like Thailand and Cambodia, that can draw larger powers into the fray and then, all shit can break loose.

I'll keep an eye on this as it is pretty logical to assume that Cambodian troops are going to retaliate for this.

Jihadist Bomb Attack in Thailand Kills 8 Soldiers - 1 Beheaded

Just your daily muslim jihadist attack from the land of Thailand. A group of Thai soldiers were hit by some sort of IED and after the initial explosion which killed many, the jihadists descended upon the scene and fired rounds into any survivors and then, one soldier was beheaded - apparently to send the message that the jihadists are just as sick as they appear to be.
The Thai government keeps appeasing and appeasing and soon, they will find it has no army left (which, of course, is the plan behind this kind of attack to begin with).

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - Suspected Muslim insurgents killed eight soldiers—leaving one beheaded—in a bomb and shooting attack Monday in restive southern Thailand, army and police officials said.
The soldiers were on a routine morning patrol in the Chanae district of Narathiwat province when a bomb hidden on the road exploded as their vehicle passed, said the spokesman, Col. Akara Thiprote.
After the blast, suspected insurgents attacked the vehicle with a barrage of gunfire, leaving no survivors, he said.
"One of the soldiers was beheaded. His head was found 50 meters away from the scene of the attack," said police Lt. Col. Chakkrote Nongmanee, who inspected the blast site.
It was not immediately clear at what point the soldier was beheaded.

An initial investigation indicated that about 20 suspected insurgents had been hiding behind brush along the roadside, Chakkrote said, adding that police found 10 weapons left in the area, including eight M-16 assault rifles, a submachine gun and a pistol.
More than 2,800 people have been killed in Thailand's Muslim-majority southernmost provinces of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat, and some parts of neighboring Songkhla, since a long-simmering Islamic separatist insurgency flared in January 2004.
The government has made little progress in curbing the violence, despite the presence of nearly 40,000 police and soldiers. Drive-by shootings and bombings occur almost daily, as rebels continue efforts to scare Buddhist residents away from the area.
More than 90 percent of Thailand's 65 million people are Buddhist, and many of the country's Muslims have long complained they are treated as second-class citizens.

Muslim crucified, two Buddhists beheaded in Thailand: police

NARATHIWAT, Thailand (AFP) — A Muslim military informant was shot and crucified, while two Buddhist men were beheaded Wednesday by suspected Islamic separatists in Thailand's restive south, police said.
The Muslim man, a 58-year-old who belonged to a government-backed militia, was shot and then stabbed so badly that he was nearly decapitated, police Lieutenant Khanchitthol Kreunor told AFP.
Suspected rebels then drove six-inch nails through his head, arms and legs to attach him to two pieces of wood, which were laid out like a cross in the middle of a road in Rueso district of Narathiwat province, near the southern border with Malaysia, he said.
Khanchitthol said police found a note written in Thai and left near the cross, reading: "This is what the infidels deserve. The soldier dogs must meet this end."
"The victim was attacked and killed in such a grisly way because they knew he was a military informant. This is to terrify the people," Khanchitthol said.

About two hours later, two Buddhist fishmongers aged 20 and 61 were shot and then beheaded in another district of Narathiwat, police said.
The killings came after a month of spiralling violence in the region, which has seen more than 2,700 killed since separatist unrest erupted four years ago.
