I've Read the Koran: Have You?


Muslim organizations repeatedly admonish us, "you don't understand our religion" or "you just misunderstood what you read in the Koran." Then they always say "we" need to explain to you what is in the Koran.

NO. No, thank you. I've read it myself. Several times. I also researched it, studied it and compared several translations. I read many related books and Googled articles on the internet. My Arabic speaking friends helped a great deal as well.

I should have read it sooner, because now I do understand Islamic distrust of all religions and Western civilization. I also understand their drive to dominate the world (8:39: "And fight with them until there is no more persecution [opposition] and religion should be only for Allah" or 9:29: "Fight those who believe not in Allah. until they pay the Jizya. and feel themselves subdued. " or 24:55: "Allah has promised to those of you who believe. that He will most certainly make them rulers in the earth." and others).

Islam claims that Jews and Christians "corrupted" their scriptures, so Allah sent down the last prophet with the last revelations and claimed that theirs is the only true religion, theirs is the only true God and only they know the truth. However, there is no explanation anywhere as to who corrupted them and when or what was corrupted. Yet Islam is so intolerant in its relationship to "infidels" that Muslims are urged not to be friends with anyone who is not Muslim (4:144, 5:57 and 5:51: "Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends").

Reading the Koran is possible for me in the U.S., but people in many Islamic countries can't do it because illiteracy is high and education, especially for women, is quite limited. In addition, many Muslims don't even read Arabic. The Imams tell them only those parts or verses which they want them to know.

The Koran is a difficult read for several reasons. The contents of many verses are frequently and thus annoyingly, repeated. Very little is in chronological order. The verses are not in consecutive thoughts and the history, as well as many biblical stories they quote, are radically different from the way we know them. All this leads to confusion and questions.

Muhammed (570-632 AD) received his first revelation when he was 40 years old which, along with later revelations, were first saved in the memory of those people who were present. Scribes then copied them on whatever was available at that time and place such as thin, flat bones, leaves, leather or parchments. It worked for a while, because all the verses in the Koran were revealed over a 23-year-period, so there was plenty of time for memorization.

Many Muslims, however, who memorized those revelations died in the war of Yamamah after Mohammed's death. To preserve the Koran, the 1st Caliph Abu Bakr (reigned 632-634 AD) ordered Zayd bin Tabid to find all the fragments and collect the verses from the memory of those who were still living. Then the 3rd Caliph Uthman (reigned 644-656 AD) combined and collated them, ordered seven copies by four previous scribes and burned the rest. This project took over 25 years. There is, however, controversy and arguments amongst scholars about whether it took much longer than that and if verses were omitted or changed during the process. Since there are no outside sources other than Islam itself (Koran, Sira and the Hadiths), it is difficult to compare or evaluate the current Koran properly.

The Jewish Torah and the Christian Bible are based on love. God loves everything, people, animals, birds, plants, insects and He leads you to love Him. The overall effect is that God loves you and teaches you to love your neighbors as yourself.

Other than many verses from the early, peaceful Meccan period where Mohammed lived, I have found very little spiritual inspiration, pathos, piety, spiritual enlightenment, compassion, beauty or devotion in the Koran. In the later revelations from Medina, when Muhammed became a politician and a warlord, most verses seem like orders from Allah and are cold, rigid, intolerant and combative.

There is no ‘love' in the Koran the way we understand and interpret love today. Allah, of course, does not love the sinners or the unbelievers (2:190, 3:31). But Allah does not love the believers either, unless they love him (3:31-32), so "love" in the Koran is very conditional. In addition, he admits that he will lead people astray (14:27, 30:29) and will populate Hell with men (32:13). References of true adoration of Allah from one's heart are few and believers are urged in many verses to "fear Allah" (5:1-2, 2:194). This clearly shows that their perception of God is not the same as the perception of God of the Torah or the Bible.

Allah and Muhammed do not appreciate the life people have found and enjoy on this earth. According to them, it is the Hereafter that is the real life (29:64-69). The reason is that "God has purchased the Believer's person and their goods; for theirs in return is Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, and slay and are slain."(9:111).

Allah does not urge his believers to "do good work" in order to achieve peace or cooperate with their fellow man. There are no calls from Allah to serve and help people (other than those who are Muslims), to reduce suffering or spread harmony amongst people in different communities with dissimilar creed, color or religion. The verses clearly state that Islam's aim is to rule the world with only one religion for everybody: Islam (as shown above, 8:39, 9:29 and 24:55).

For this reason, those Jews, Christians or other naive, uneducated or misinformed people who truly believe that we must work with Islamists, and there are many of them, towards the noble idea of "Tikkun Olam" (repair the world) had better read the Koran first, because there is absolutely no reciprocity or cooperation in it.

On the contrary, there are numerous calls, commands, curses, excitements, admonishments, warnings and serious threats, repeated incessantly on many pages of the Koran, to wage war, fight, conquer, subjugate nonbelievers and spread Islam everywhere in the world. These commands are accompanied with no-nonsense, serious warnings for the "believers" to follow only Islamic laws, follow the "right way", the "only way", to believe in the "truth", which they believe exists nowhere else except in Islam, and especially, again, to "fear Allah".

Those who believe differently are reminded time and time again that they will experience "severe punishments". The numerous and various punishments both on Earth and in Hell are described in great and horrid detail many times for those who are in doubt.

Those punishments are carefully juxtaposed with the wonderful pleasures of Paradise for those who "do good" in the way of Islam. Water, which was hard to come by in the desert, various fruits and plenty of food will always be available there.

Interestingly, even though it was declared a "sin" and "Satan's work" by Mohammed (5:90, 5:91-92, 2:219), lots of wine will also be served (6:13-27, 6:1-12, 47:15, 83:25-26). In addition, there will be "numerous virgins" "whom no man has ever touched before" 52:1-28, 38:49-52, 23:23-25, 2:25, 78;31-40, 55:46) any time and all the time.

Of course all the above pleasures are only for those devout Muslim men who had either died in the name of Allah - martyrs - or did a lot of "good in their lifetime". The Koran, however, does not mention how much pleasure women will have in Paradise, or if they ever will get there. As a matter of fact, "The Prophet said: ‘I was shown the Hell-fire and that the majority of its dwellers were women.'"(Sahih al-Bukhari Vol.1, Chap. 2, No.28). After reading all the descriptions, Paradise seems to be nothing else but an all day-all night variation of human pleasures without sin, of course, but without the need for honor, wisdom, restraint, devotion, commitment, gratitude, service to Allah or any spiritual fulfillment either.

What is "good" and how much "good is enough" will be decided only by Allah himself, but only after a person's death, on Judgment Day. So basically until that day, Muslims do not know whether they will be allowed to enter Paradise at all. This is why Muslims say "Inshallah", God willing, frequently. Even a short, innocent sentence, like, "I am going to see you tomorrow" will usually be followed by "Inshallah" (18:240). They don't know whether they will be able to do it, because it is really up to Allah.

Those who disagree in any way with Islam are emphatically labeled an enemy by various names like "unbelievers", "hypocrites", "transgressors", "mushriken" or, especially, "kufars", which carries a more degrading and demeaning connotation than the ubiquitous "infidel".

While Muslim apologists want us to believe that "jihad" is only a spiritual struggle, in reality, Jihad actually means a holy war against all non-Muslims. Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406) in 'Muqaddimah' noted that "holy war is religious duty.it is the obligation to convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force". Sahih Muslim(817-874) said "Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war."(19:4294)

In closing, the Koran basically reflects life only in the 600s AD in the Arabian Peninsula. Not in the majority of the West, not in 2012, not in Europe (although Europe is becoming Islamicized) and especially not in the United States.

Islam's aim is to force us to forget our individuality and to submit our lives to an ancient political doctrine camouflaged and promoted as a religion. The United States has fought long and hard to achieve our individual and collective freedoms. We have been a haven for centuries for those who wanted to escape tyranny, oppression and poverty. In this country we will "submit" to no one because our free will was guaranteed by our Constitution. And with the help of our God we shall prevail.

Just What the World Needs....An 8 Foot Qur'an

In a country known for actually producing only two things....jihadi attacks and poppies for heroin, Afghanistan has now revealed a production of the world's largest Qur'an...this baby is 7.5 feet high and 5 feet wide.

Imagine...now you will be able to literally put your hands ON the words "kill the disbelievers" - pretty cool, huh?

Afghan Creates World's Largest Qur’an


KABUL – An Afghan calligrapher has created the world’s biggest Qur’an in an effort to show the rich cultural heritage of his war-torn country.

"The cultural center is proud that it provided this opportunity for an Afghan artist to actually show his talent to the world,” calligrapher Mohammad Sabir Khedri told Reuters Tuesday, January 27.

“We have Afghan people who show the positive aspect of Islam."

Khedri worked for five years with nine students to create the world’s biggest copy of the Noble Qur’an.

The lavish book has pages 2.28 meters (90 inches) by 1.55 meters (61 inches) in size.

The previous claim to the title was for a 2 meter by 1.5 meter copy unveiled last year in Russia's Tatarstan region.

It also weighs 500 kg (1,100 lb) and its 218 pages of cloth and paper, bound inside an embossed leather cover made from the skins of 21 goats, cost half a million dollars to create.

Though the design was finished in 2009, it was not unveiled by the calligrapher until the room that would house it was completed.

The design of the new copy, which will be housed in the Kabul cultural center, combines gold script with millions of tiny colorful dots, forming highly symbolic decorations around the giant pages.

"I wanted to use as many tasteful colors as possible to make this holy book look beautiful," he said, standing beside his enormous creation in a room built specially to house it.

Fulfilled Dream

Designing the world’s largest Qur’an was always a dream for calligrapher Khedri.

"Writing the Qur’an is one privilege,” he said.

“And...of course if you can make the biggest Qur’an everyone wants to do it, because they want to show the feeling they have, the biggest feeling inside their heart.”

The giant Qur’an will be housed in the Kabul cultural center, which was originally founded in the 1980s, and once home to 50,000 books, a medical center, and schools for Afghan crafts such as carpet weaving.

All of that was destroyed in during the civil war that followed the 1989 withdrawal of Soviet troops, and the Taliban rule from 1996.

But its founder revived the center after the 2001 Taliban ouster by the US invasion and his daughter -- member of parliament Farkhunda Zahra Naderi -- now also helps support its work and manages a much smaller library.

Though he now has the world’s biggest Qur’an, Khedri does not mind ceding his moment in the spotlight to an even larger Muslim holy book made by someone else.
"I will be happier if someone else makes a bigger Qur’an, it is serving Islam," he said with a smile.

Afghans Continue Qur'an Burning Protests, 9 Killed and 81 Wounded In Kandahar Protests

The Afghan people have decided to continue their outrage at the burning of the Qur'an in Florida by killing more and more of their own people - today in Kandahar, over 80 people were wounded and 9 were killed when violence erupted during a protest of the Qur'an burning.

Maybe I'm missing something but if you are standing in a crowd protesting the defiling of your holy book, at what point do you decide to kill the guy next to you?

Oh wait, I forgot, this is Islam - if you don't kill someone or something in a certain amount of time you start to melt so ....

It is reassuring that these Afghan people are joining their Taliban brothers at these protests, standing side by side, shoulder to shoulder with the men that blew up their brother and sister and babies over the last six months. But hey, it's all about priorities, isn't it?

Anger over Qur'an burning erupts into bloody riots in Kandahar, killing 9



Tara Brautigam, The Canadian Press KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - Outrage over the burning of the Muslim holy book in Florida erupted into a second day of bloody riots in Afghanistan, this time in the spiritual homeland of the Taliban, leaving nine dead and dozens more injured Saturday.

About 100 people gathered Saturday morning in Kandahar city to vent their anger over the burning of the Qur'an by a pastor at a small Christian fundamentalist church in Florida last month.

The demonstration later grew and boiled over into violence when men wielding sticks marched through the streets, setting cars ablaze and burning down shops as the crackle of gunfire rang out in the city, the second largest in the country.

"We are standing with the Taliban shoulder-to-shoulder because the infidels are against Islam," said Havi Atta Muhammad, an Afghan who took part in the protest.

"They're not here for help or any sort of development."

Haji Lali said Afghans were united in their opposition to those who desecrate the Qur'an.

"We are all Afghans and stand against infidels," Lali said.

"I have seen the bravery of Afghans today."

Tooryalai Wesa, the Afghan-Canadian governor of Kandahar, lashed out at those who took part in the deadly riots.

"Some wicked and destructive people placed themselves amongst the protesters," Wesa's office said in a statement.

Wesa also condemned the burning of the Qur'an as an "abhorrent move" by "a stupid pastor."

His office said at least 81 people were wounded in the Kandahar melee and that Afghan National Security Forces arrested 17 people.

A federal official at Camp Nathan Smith, the provincial reconstruction centre in Kandahar city, said all Canadians have been accounted for.

Task Force Kandahar said it restricted transit through the city by its military and civilian personnel but its routine operations were not affected.

The Qur'an burning and the riots it incited are the latest blow to NATO's counterinsurgency efforts in Afghanistan, where relations have become strained in recent weeks.

A spate of civilian deaths in recent weeks have earned Karzai's scorn. And last month, the publication of photos depicting U.S. soldiers posing next to the bodies of dead Afghans in Kandahar's Maiwand district further stoked tensions.

The photos ran last month in Rolling Stone magazine and Der Spiegel, a German news magazine.

The burning of the Qur'an occurred March 20, but many Afghans only heard of it when President Hamid Karzai condemned the act this week.

It took place at the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Fla., the same church where Rev. Terry Jones had threatened to destroy a copy of the Qur'an last year but backed down.

But the church proceeded to burn the book last month, and Jones defended the act, saying it was within his rights under the U.S. Constitution to do so.

The burning triggered mass protests Friday in the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif, where four Afghans and seven foreigners were killed after protesters stormed a United Nations compound.

Up until then, Mazar-e-Sharif was considered a relatively safe city — so much so that Karzai announced last month that it would be among the first areas in the country where Afghan forces would take over the responsibility of security in July.

Defence Minister Peter MacKay also visited that city two weeks ago while on a reconnaissance mission of sorts for Operation Attention, Canada's upcoming training mission, the details of which have yet to be announced.

MacKay said Mazar-e-Sharif was one of several places where Canadians could be based as part of that mission, which is set to begin once combat operations wind down in July.

Up to 950 troops and support staff will remain in Afghanistan on the training mission until 2014.

Pakistan, While Burying Thousands Killed By Radical Followers of the Qur'an, Denounce U.S. Burning of the Qur'an In Florida

Have you ever noticed that the most pissed off Muslims in the world seem to live in Pakistan? Have you also ever noticed that the most definitive atrocities against humankind also originate in that same country of Pakistan? “It is a serious set back to the efforts at promoting harmony among civilised communities throughout the world,” Zardari said asking the parliament to pass a resolution and urge the United Nations to address the issue.

Pakistani foreign ministry also condemned the desecration of the Quran as “despicable act.” “There could be no justification for such acts,” the ministry said.

I see the Pakistani foreign ministry condemned the Qur'an burning as "despicable"....well, I'll tell you what despicable is. Sentencing a Pakistani Christian woman to hanging for being a Christian...THAT'S despicable. How about looking the other way when a girls school is blown to bits by a Taliban car bomber killing upwards of 20 girls under the age of 15 - THAT'S despicable. Lemme see...oh yeah...how about sending assassins into a parade to blow the head off of a female politician while she stands in her motorcade - THAT's despicable.

Who the fuck are these Muslims to point fingers at anyone in this world and talk about despicable acts? We have Muslim nurses with blood dripping from their hands after they have butchered the clitoris off of young teen girls, we have Muslim men dropping small sized boulders onto the exposed head of a woman buried to her neck in sand, and we have Islamic clerics sentencing female rape victims to 200 lashes for being raped.

Give me a fucking break.

Do You Remember Keith Olbermann or Katie Couric Reporting That the Iranians Burned Hundreds of Holy Bibles and Torahs Back In May?

Remember back to this past summer this year and rack your brain...do you remember Keith Olbermann, Katie Couric or the New York Times reporting anything about the burning of hundreds of Holy Bibles and Torahs by the Iranians? Hmmmm....I just don't seem to remember that.

But one pastor in Florida threatens...doesn't do it but THREATENS to burn a few Qur'ans in September, four months later, and the MSM couldn't run that story enough. Why is that?

The Farsi Christian News Network (www.fcnn.com) is reporting that Iranian Government Security Forces have burned hundreds of Bibles.

The report said that on Saturday, May 29, 2010, Ati News, a site belonging to Morteza Talaee, the previous head of the security forces and the current member of the Tehran's city council, "in its usual anti-Christian propaganda" reported that their social-life reporter had disclosed that shipments of so called, "Perverted Torah and Gospels" had entered Iran through its Western borders.

Two days later, on Monday, May 31, 2010, the same report was reiterated by the official anti-crime website of the Pasdaran Army called "Gerdaub" which said that a large shipment of Jewish and Christian Scriptures had entered Iran through the Western Azerbaijan province and, according to security officials of that province, the "occupier forces" that operate in the Western regions of Iraq were responsible for such activities.

But hey, I almost forgot. Christians and Jews are supposed to be tolerant of the burning of their Holy Books but muslims, well if their book is burned, they have the RIGHT to mass murder people. I guess I'm just slow to this special treatment for the followers of the pedophile prophet and his moongod big daddy.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not advocating violence or outrage over the burning of the Bible or the Torah - what I am advocating is the fact that the Qur'an can be burned in the same manner without anyone in the West saying a damn thing about it. You have to admit the most of the Western media and certain American leaders seem to hold the Qur'an to a different standard than the Holy Bible or Torah - if they didn't, they wouldn't have ignored this story and they also wouldn't have covered the Qur'an burning like white on rice.

Iranian Government Security Forces Burn Hundreds of Bibles


The Farsi Christian News Network (www.fcnn.com) is reporting that Iranian Government Security Forces have burned hundreds of Bibles.

A spokesperson for FCNN told the ASSIST News Service (ANS), "This action [of burning the Bibles], which has been confirmed by informed sources, was aired on a site belonging to the Pasdaran paramilitary organization, is nothing less than shameful and the persons responsible must be identified and exposed to the whole world."

The report said that on Saturday, May 29, 2010, Ati News, a site belonging to Morteza Talaee, the previous head of the security forces and the current member of the Tehran's city council, "in its usual anti-Christian propaganda" reported that their social-life reporter had disclosed that shipments of so called, "Perverted Torah and Gospels" had entered Iran through its Western borders.

"While the depiction of the Prophet of Islam and other historical religious leaders, whether in good or bad taste, has caused uproar and violent protests, threats of retaliation and assassinations, closure of embassies, long and mournful marches in various parts of countries of the world such as Pakistan, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, its quite interesting that the official website of the most powerful military wing of the Islamic Republic of Iran engages in the shameful act of reporting the burning of Bibles," said the FCNN spokesperson.

"Of course, the security officials have not clarified the difference between these so called 'perverted Bibles' and those that are commonly used by people around the world - including Iran.

"These officials shamefully label the Holy Scriptures of the Christians 'contraband' without realizing the over two billion people around the world and at least five hundred thousand people in Iran revere and consider holy. This action is no different than what the government has wrongfully accused many Christians of insulting the sacred beliefs of Islam.

"On the hand the defenders of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the international organizations and human rights forums claim that religious minorities such as Jews and Christians enjoy constitutional protection and the adherents of these religions not only can elect their own representatives to the parliament, but exercise their religious rights freely and openly.

The Qur'an Burning...Was It Burning the First Amendment?

This really is an excellent article over at Family Security Matters that cuts through the bullshit of all of the reasons why the likes of Barack Hussein Obama and General Petraeus and Robert Gates implored the Florida pastor not to burn his Qur'ans on September 11th, and lays out just what this all meant - another example of American submission to islam and islamic terror.

I haven't waded into this issue that much but this article really reinforced much of my thoughts - and one thing that I would like to add is this: at what point WILL America draw the line in standing up to threats by the islamists? I mean, if the world body of muslims threatens worldwide violence if America doesn't make homosexuality illegal, will we bow to their requests again? How about if I draw a huge poster of Mohammed and burn it...will that get me a phone call from President Obama?

Here's some of the article that really hits home:

President Barack Obama, technically, as commander-in-chief and representative of the American value of freedom of speech, should have filled Will Kane’s shoes and defended Jones’s right to burn the Korans. He should have taken a stand against the hue-and-cry of the press and Muslims and defended Jones’ proposed action. But, in conformance with his “Muslim outreach” policy, he defended Muslim anger and not Jones.

I have news for Gates: The hatred was always there, and the haters have never lacked an excuse to run amok. Imam Feisal Rauf also warned on the “Larry King Show” of a Muslim retaliation.

But, capping a day-long rhetorical offensive that began Wednesday morning with an opinion piece in The New York Times, Rauf said he intends to go ahead with the "multifaith" center near the site where Islamic terrorists killed nearly 2,800 people because not doing so would unleash fury abroad.

Some “anger” is more equal than others. American anger over the Ground Zero mosque should be restrained and stifled, if not outright prohibited. Muslim “anger,” however, is wholly justified and could “explode.” How? Like car bombs? Shoe bombs? IED’s? Fire-bombings? Homicidal rioting? Well, this is all out of the hands of the self-styled “bridge builder” and yearner for “peace and harmony.”

America, I'm afraid unless some serious resistance doesn't start up soon, we will see a litany of this from now on. We saw all of this bullshit in Europe already - this process of dhimmification...the whole idea that we must avoid being called "islamophobes" at any cost, that we must respect the "religion" of islam above all others. Go ahead and light up the night skies by burning 500 Holy Bibles people but damn you, don't you DARE burn one Qur'an because a Taliban jihadi might get mad and plant an IED against our troops in Afghanistan.

This is completely insane. We are IN AFGHANISTAN, because of the threats and actions of islam! What's next? How about we all just agree to convert to islam...wouldn't that cut down on the home grown terrorist cells in America? You cool with that idea? I've said it before - one of the best weapons against islam is to ridicule it, to expose it for the farce that it is. The burning of a Qur'an can be no different than burning Mein Kampf - both are books laying out the ideology of madmen. We wouldn't have any problem with burning Mein Kampf, would we?

Burning the First Amendment


In the classic western, High Noon, Will Kane, the retiring U.S. Marshall of Hadleyville, must face a gang of criminals who have come back to town, intent on vengeance on Kane for his having helped send the leader to prison. Most of the townspeople, in a demonstration of mass cowardice (a “terror-stricken town,” as the trailer narrative goes), repair to a church after they have abandoned Kane, citing a host of rationalistic excuses. There they pray and squeeze their eyes shut in desperate hope that it is only Kane the gang will kill, and won’t run amok in the town itself. But they would much, much prefer him to leave to save themselves the bother of having any moral backbone.

A deputy refuses to help out of personal jealousy, and resigns. A former mistress packs up and leaves. Even Kane’s new wife, a pacifist Quaker, boards the train out of town, the same train that brings Frank Miller, the gang leader, into it. A young boy is the only person who volunteers to help Kane fight the gang.

The townspeople beg Kane to leave, more to protect their own hides than out of concern for his life. But for Kane, flight is not an option. He chooses to stay and face the gang because he knows they will eventually find him, wherever he goes.

Pastor Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida, is not of the same mettle as Will Kane. Nor is Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. Nor is President Barack Obama, Nor is General David Petraeus. After promising to burn copies of the Koran in protest against the erection of the Ground Zero mosque (aka “community center”) and against terrorism, Jones decided to not burn the Korans because he was warned that doing so might lead to Muslim rioting abroad and cause death and destruction.

Pastor Jones had a fundamental right to burn his Korans. They were his private property, or his church‘s. It was his or the church’s money. His gesture was loony, not “counter-productive” as some pundits have claimed, but rather a futile protest against the Ground Zero mosque and Islamic terrorism. It may have even been a bid for publicity, which he certainly garnered.

What about burning Bibles, or copies of Mein Kampf, or Das Kapital, or even Atlas Shrugged, or the Harry Patter novels? The same principle applies. Freedom of speech is inherently linked to private property. If property is regulated, controlled, or abolished, then, by extension, so is speech. This is what Obama, Cass Sunstein, and the FCC are creeping up to in wanting to regulate the Internet through “net neutrality.”

However, the author of a Pajamas Media article on the Koran-burning and Justice Breyer‘s comments about it on “Good Morning, America,”, does point to but does not raise a very relevant issue, which is the fear factor. Brow-beating or threatening Terry Jones (as is likely what happened) into canceling his over-publicized plan to burn some Korans -- because burning them might provoke Muslims to riot and kill and run amok is (as they promised to do, and asthey did), and possibly endanger our troops in Afghanistan and Americans in general -- is, on the face of it, an act of submission to Islam.

President Barack Obama, technically, as commander-in-chief and representative of the American value of freedom of speech, should have filled Will Kane’s shoes and defended Jones’s right to burn the Korans. He should have taken a stand against the hue-and-cry of the press and Muslims and defended Jones’ proposed action. But, in conformance with his “Muslim outreach” policy, he defended Muslim anger and not Jones.

"This is a recruitment bonanza for al-Qaeda," Obama said in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" program. "You could have serious violence in places like Pakistan or Afghanistan. This could increase the recruitment of individuals who would be willing to blow themselves up in American cities or European cities."

"I just hope he understands that what he is proposing to do is completely contrary to our values as Americans, that this country has been built on the notions of religious freedom and religious tolerance," Obama said. "He says he's someone who is motivated by his faith ... I hope he listens to those better angels and understands that this is a destructive act that he's engaging in," Obama said.

Well, those “better angels” came down on Jones like a ton of bricks. General lDavid Petraeus also wielded his cosh on Jones.

General David Petraeus said the planned torching of Islam's holy book by a Florida church would be a propaganda coupe for the Taliban in Afghanistan and stoke anti-US sentiment across the Muslim world.

"It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort in Afghanistan," said Petraeus of the plan. "It is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems. Not just here but everywhere in the world we are engaged with the Islamic community," the general said in an emailed statement.

Why should anyone care that the burning would have been a “propaganda coup” for the Taliban or any other Islamic gang? And note that Petraeus said that we are “engaged with the Islamic community” -- not at war with it. What is it that American lives and treasure have been spent on for the last nine years in Iraq and Afghanistan? Building “community centers”? And if so, aren’t the troops in harm’s way, with the Taliban and al-Qaeda and other Islamic gangs -- all those “community leaders” -- shooting at them already?

Defense Secretary Robert Gates called Jones to talk him out of the Koran-burning.
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Sept. 9 phoned a Florida pastor planning to burn Korans and warned him that he was putting the lives of U.S. soldiers at risk, the Pentagon said. Speaking to the pastor, Gates "expressed his grave concern that going forward with this Koran burning would put the lives of our forces at risk, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan, and urged him not to proceed with it," press secretary Geoff Morrell told reporters.

It is almost as though Obama, Petraeus, and Gates had watched High Noon and decided to adopt the cowardly pragmatism of not fighting the Miller-Muslim gang. “You’ll only upset them and make them angrier than they already are. You’ll just stoke the fires of hatred.”

I have news for Gates: The hatred was always there, and the haters have never lacked an excuse to run amok. Imam Feisal Rauf also warned on the “Larry King Show” of a Muslim retaliation.

But, capping a day-long rhetorical offensive that began Wednesday morning with an opinion piece in The New York Times, Rauf said he intends to go ahead with the "multifaith" center near the site where Islamic terrorists killed nearly 2,800 people because not doing so would unleash fury abroad.

"There is a certain anger here [in America], no doubt," he said later in the interview. "But if we don't do this right, anger will explode in the Muslim world. If we don't do things correctly, this crisis could become much bigger than the Danish cartoon crisis [over images depicting the Prophet Mohammed], which resulted in attacks on Danish embassies in various parts of the Muslim world. And we have a much bigger footprint in the Muslim world."

"I am glad that Pastor Jones has decided not to burn any Korans," Rauf said in a statement read to ABC News' Christiane Amanpour.

Some “anger” is more equal than others. American anger over the Ground Zero mosque should be restrained and stifled, if not outright prohibited. Muslim “anger,” however, is wholly justified and could “explode.” How? Like car bombs? Shoe bombs? IED’s? Fire-bombings? Homicidal rioting? Well, this is all out of the hands of the self-styled “bridge builder” and yearner for “peace and harmony.”

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer was interviewed by George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “Good Morning, America.” Breyer, a liberal, hedged on the question of whether or not Terry Jones had a right to burn the Korans.

Democrats and Republicans alike assume that Pastor Jones had a Constitutional right to burn those Korans. But Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer told me…that he's not prepared to conclude that -- in the internet age -- the First Amendment condones Koran burning. “Holmes said it doesn’t mean you can shout 'fire' in a crowded theater,” Breyer told me. “Well, what is it? Why? Because people will be trampled to death. And what is the crowded theater today? What is the being trampled to death?”

For Breyer, that right is not a foregone conclusion. “It will be answered over time in a series of cases which force people to think carefully. That’s the virtue of cases,” Breyer told me. “And not just cases. Cases produce briefs, briefs produce thought. Arguments are made. The judges sit back and think. And most importantly, when they decide, they have to write an opinion, and that opinion has to be based on reason. It isn’t a fake.”

Maybe, said the judge and mayor and townsfolk in the Hadleyville church to Will Kane, just maybe you’re wrong. Maybe Frank Miller has a right to be angry with you. Maybe you hurt his feelings. You know that better than any of us. He’s a bad man, but must have his good points, we don’t know. Maybe he has a right to shoot you. We’re not saying he should. We don’t know. But, Will, you’ve got to look at this on a case by case issue. And it would be best if you just skedaddled, and saved us a lot of worry and grief. Who knows? Maybe we have a right to just hogtie you now and hand you over to Frank Miller ourselves (hah, hah) and save everyone a lot of trouble!

If one refrains from taking an action because the action may incur the wrath of Allah’s followers or of Wontonka or Attila the Hun or the thug down the street, who is the winner? Imam Feisal Rauf, for example, has claimed that not allowing him to build his alleged “community center” near Ground Zero will be taken as an assault on Islam and provoke riots and vengeance and so on. But then none of these parties has a clue about the link between private property and freedom of speech, except, perhaps Obama, spiritual grandson of Saul Alinsky, enemy of private property and freedom of speech. Obama, Petraeus, Jones, and Breyer have all submitted to Islam.

This is how Sharia law is insinuating itself into political thought. We do not demand that Islam and Muslims defer to secular law and individual rights; we should concede that we should defer to Muslims and Islam, because it's a "religious freedom" issue, because if we don't, Muslims will be angry and begin flying planes into buildings again, and stabbing people to death, or shooting Americans at random, and causing all kinds of unpleasantness, when we really all we want is to get along with them and not be so judgmental, because that’s such a bother.

None of these “moral leaders” had the courage and sense of consequence that Will Kane had. Collectively, they have told the Frank Miller gang (or Feisal Rauf) they can have the town.

Most other Americans, however, have demonstrated through the Tea Parties and their opposition to the Ground Zero mosque, that they still have the moral certitude of Will Kane. It is they who are telling looting politicians and dissimulating Islamic leaders to get out of town.
