80 Rockets, Shells Fired From Gaza And The World Is Silent On The Barrage!

Why not?  After all the victims are Jews not Arabs.  After all to the UN, the Lame Stream Media, the State Department, only Arabs can be victims.  Jews are never to be considered victims no matter how many rockets are fired, how many babies are murdered.

New salvos hit the south Wednesday afternoon; school canceled for the day; residents ordered to stay close to ‘secure rooms’; three foreign workers hurt in morning hit on chicken coop.

Palestinian terrorists in Gaza continued their rocket assault on Israel Wednesday afternoon after a three-hour pause in the attacks, which have seen dozens of missiles target the south in the past two days. More than 80 rockets and shells had been fired into Israel Wednesday by late afternoon.

Israeli leaders warned of a much intensified military response if the attacks continued. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke of “a more extensive” response. Education Minister Gideon Sa’ar said the army was ready for “a far, far greater and wider response.” Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman said Israel would not maintain its restraint for many more days, and that Israel was “facing a serious escalation.”

A salvo of eight rockets fell on Hof Ashkelon just after midday, shattering the quiet that had descended for a few hours after a series of rocket attacks in the morning. Another two projectiles were fired at the Hevel Eshkol area. In late afternoon, another missile strike was recorded. There were no reports of injury or damage in the latest attacks.

Three foreign workers were injured, two of them seriously, in Wednesday morning attacks when a rocket hit the chicken coop they were working in, and several houses were damaged by other missiles. At least two other people were reported lightly injured in the strikes. Some of those hurt in the attacks were flown by helicopter to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba.

School was cancelled in areas close to Gaza on Wednesday, and residents were told to remain within 15 seconds of “secure rooms” in case of further attacks.

Netanyahu, on a tour of the Iron Dome missile defense facility near the coastal town of Ashkelon, said, “It was not Israel that initiated this escalation, but if it goes on we are prepared to take far more extensive action.” Those who fire on Israel, he said, should know that “they have sealed their own fate.”

He also promised to fortify every building in communities 4.5 to 7 kilometers from the Strip, where until now only educational facilities had been protected.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak, speaking to Army Radio, said, “There are about 1,700 households that need fortification, but that said, the situation was a lot more difficult in the past because there was no Iron Dome.”

On Wednesday morning, Iron Dome intercepted seven Grads fired at Ashkelon. In the afternoon the system stopped another missile fired at the city.

France sharply condemned the rocket fire on Israel, urging restraint from both sides.

Since Tuesday afternoon Palestinian terror groups in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip have fired dozens of rockets and mortar shells at southern Israel. The incoming missiles were a mix of Gaza-produced Kassam missiles and military-grade Grad rockets that have a longer range and larger warhead.

The IDF has responded to the barrages by targeting terror cells and Hamas installations in the Gaza Strip. Three Palestinians were killed in overnight airstrikes.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz called a meeting Tuesday to assess the situation and toured some of the sites that were hit in attacks.

Barak said he could not rule out a ground invasion if fire continued. “If we need a ground operation there will be a ground operation. We will do whatever necessary to stop this wave” of violence, he told Army Radio on Wednesday.

“It’s important for the government to think before it decides. This move will bring escalation and not peace — there is no way to reconcile with the terror from Gaza. We are considering everything we need and examining everything. If there will be no choice and the fire continues, they will be struck hard, nothing is impossible,” he said.

Liberman said Israel was facing “a serious escalation” in the south. Speaking before a meeting with visiting EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, he said the situation was “unacceptable” and that Israel would “not suffer” the ongoing rocket fire for much longer.

I wonder if France would be as accommodating if it were their cities being bombed, their people being killed.  Oops, I forgot, they were when Germans were doing it.

I also wonder how long will Israel go until they send in ground troops to finish the job they started in Operation Cast Lead.  An operation they stopped to be nice to Barack Hussein Obama and not have riots at his inauguration.  Bad move.

Pussy American Media Try To Snipe Geert Wilders....FAIL

Wilders is again put through a show trial, but this time it is in print, and the prosecution is incompetent…


You know, in the lower level offices of the likes of Newsweek and Time you have these pale-faced acne-pocked rejects of society who have grasped onto Leninism and multiculturalism and they sit there til the wee hours of each night trying to take on the champions of this world who have stood against Islam. These champions represent the greatest evil in the world to these mamby pamby pussified liberal "journalists." So every once in awhile one of these peons with a pocket protector and masking tape on his glasses will take a deep breath and try to take down someone like a Geert Wilders with some sort of scathing article....and in this example from Family Security Matters, it fails once again.

Beastweek vs. Wilders: No Contest


Beastweek decided to take a swipe at Geert Wilders this month -- no particular reason, just because he's still there. It's a singularly empty piece, a selection of complaints by Christopher Dickey rattling around, anchored by an almost comically validating chorus.

Example:

There’s no such thing as moderate Islam, Wilders insists, and he’s tired of hearing that radical Islam is something different from the mainstream faith.

BTW, Beastweek, Turkey's Erdogan goes ballistic at the very notion of "moderate Islam." The Turkish PM doesn't like assimilation, either -- calling it "a crime against humanity." But never mind. You're perfect the way you are. Don't ever change.

Beastweek:

It means nothing to him that among Muslim believers there are many different sects and currents.

Chorus:

“He makes no distinctions whatsoever,” says Robert Leiken, author of the just-published study Europe’s Angry Muslims. “He wants to throw out the whole Quran because of some things that are objectionable—but you could say the same thing about the Book of Joshua.”

Robert Leiken, an old friend of mine, is the man who brought us all "The Moderate Muslim Brotherhood," which is kind of like the Edsel, or even the Titanic, for intellectuals. "Abrogation" doesn't seem to have entered the syllabus yet.

Back to Newsbeast:

Wilders refuses to concede the point. ...

Frankly, it's not Geert's point to concede. No sacred text of Islam supports "moderate Islam."
Newsbeast:

You start to wonder if Wilders really believes what he says or if he’s just staked out a position that suits him politically. The fight against Islam, he once told a protégé, is “our core business”—and Wilders has developed it for all it’s worth. His extremist stance often smells of cynicism and self-indulgence.

Here we go, ad hominem invective substituting for brain activity.

Cue up chorus:

“His weakness is that he plays the renegade, he still wants to position himself as being outside the establishment,” says Ayaan Hirsi Ali, an author and former Dutch parliamentarian whose critiques of Islam have been ferocious in their own right.

Hirsi Ali?

“Once upon a time it was necessary for him to distinguish himself by saying, ‘I take a stand, and I am a man of clarity.’”

I guess taking stands and clarity are out of fashion. Funny, I just wrote this week's column dissecting a very, very similar book-length attack on Hirsi Ali's seemingly former self.

That was then. These days the country’s ruling coalition stands or falls at Wilders’s discretion. And his antipathy toward Islam goes so far that when Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands wore a headscarf during a royal visit to the Gulf monarchies last week, Wilders complained that the Dutch government should have stopped her.

It's opposition to dhimmitude -- about which Newsbeast has zero clue.

“He has to move to the middle,” urges Hirsi Ali. “He has to distinguish between violent Islamists and nonviolent Muslims. You know, there are so many shades of Muslims right now, and he could use some of them as his allies.”

Newsbeast:

But it’s as if the rhetoric has taken control of the speaker.

Chorus:

“He has always loved attention and power,” says his largely estranged brother, Paul Wilders. “He has ruled out any sense of doubt.”

Blah, blah, and so it goes. To what end? I think the answer lies in the subtitle: "Can't Someone Tell Geert Wilders to Stop His Anti-Muslim Diatribes Before Someone Gets Hurt?" Speaking out about Islam, its laws, its history, its culture, is the cardinal sin of our age. It must be demonized as "diatribes." Wilders must be slandered as cynical and self-indulgent -- just as Hirsi Ali is, by the way, in the book I mentioned above (Wanted Women). The truth must be rendered as toxic as the truth-tellers.

To that end, the acolytes of Islamic appeasement blame discourse, debate, analysis, cartoons for causing people to get hurt, putting the acolytes (dhimmi) in compliance with Islamic law. Whether it's Pope Benedict at Regensberg or Pastor Jones in the Florida scrub, the acolytes live to make them all, pope, pastor, politician, shut up -- again, in compliance with Islamic law. Most of the time they succeed. Even Hirsi Ali seems to have "evolved," certainly since she made the statements and stands cited in Wanted Women, which I discuss in this week's upcoming column as a treatise in post 9/11 moral equivalence.

But I don't think any of them can touch Wilders. Beastweek swipes in vain.

Welcome to the new installment of Digital Diplomats.

With the media spotlight again focusing on the Arab-Israeli conflict as the top news story from the Middle East and around the world, the time is right to launch a new series of Digital Diplomats media-training initiatives.
Our first series of videos focused on teaching people how to be effective advocates for Israel. Feedback from the thousands who enrolled in the program convinced us to follow up by looking at several core issues with greater depth.
The new series will consist of slide shows that illustrate the problems and how we can all contribute to solving them. Slide shows allow us to present powerful information in an entertaining and visually stimulating way while giving the viewers complete control over the pace of the information. You can move backwards or forwards as you wish without losing the thread of the message.
Our first slide show examines Israel’s media image as an aggressor using excessive force against the Palestinians.
Too often, the media fails to distinguish between Palestinian aggression and Israeli self-defense. Media coverage often gives the impression that Israel initiated violence when in fact Israel was responding to a Palestinian provocation.
In the slide show, we identify three ways that the media makes Israel appear to be the aggressor in the conflict with the Palestinians:

1. Reporting on events out of order: News headlines often give the impression that Israel initiated violence when in reality, Israel was responding to violence against civilians initiated by Palestinian terrorists.
2. Leaving out context: The media often fails to report essential information that leaves people unable to understand the rationale behind Israel’s policy or actions.
3. Framing the news in terms of Israeli aggression: Reporters often speculate about how Israel will respond to violence, placing an aura of aggression around Israel even before Israel acts.

We hope that the information in our slide show will help Israel’s Digital Diplomats recognize how the media distorts the news and how to speak out against these distortions whenever they appear.
