Fremont, Nebraska Makes A Stand Against Illegal Immigration

The people of Fremont, Nebraska have voted to approve a ban on the renting of housing to illegal immigrants and the countdown to a nationwide outcry (and busloads of ACLU lawyers) is underway.

An eastern Nebraska city that approved a ban on hiring or renting property to illegal immigrants is likely to join Arizona at the center of the national debate about immigration regulations.
But an expected court challenge could keep the measure approved by 57 percent of Fremont voters on Monday from ever taking effect.

The American Civil Liberties Union already has vowed to file a lawsuit to block its enforcement.

So, let me get this straight - the ACLU is going to argue in court that an enemy invader of this country, someone who has crossed an American border illegally, has the right to live anywhere they want in America? Is that their position? Or are they going to argue that a landlord doesn't have a right to establish that a prospective tenant has broken one of the most basic laws in America?

The American Civil Liberties Union already has vowed to file a lawsuit to block its enforcement.

Fremont City Councilman Scott Getzschman says it will be difficult and costly for the community of 25,000 people to take on the issue.

The city's Hispanic population has surged in the past two decades, largely due to the jobs at two nearby meatpacking plants.

Obama Flip Flops On Jihadi Prisoner 'Abuse' Photo Release, Now He Will Fight Their Release

Barack Obama apparently has taken time out of his busy schedule to attend the John Kerry School of Flip Flopping and today announced that he would oppose the publication of photos of prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan that supposedly show abuse of those prisoners by U.S. military personnel. Obama now cites that it could endanger our troops to have theses photos published but of course, just a few weeks ago Obama had no concern for our troops anywhere in his little head. Of course, we can trace all of this bullshit back to the ACLU - you know, those clowns that have forgotten what the first initial in their organization's name is...."American"....as they are apparently only concerned about foreigners and terrorists. Anyway, here's some of the details of Obama's new stance on this subject from the article at the Los Angeles Times:

The Obama administration changed direction today, announcing that it would oppose the release of photographs showing the alleged abuse of prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan.The administration this month had agreed to release dozens of the photographs but reversed course after top military officials said they were concerned that the photos could put U.S. troops in jeopardy, particularly in Afghanistan.

The president said publication of the photos would serve no purpose and could endanger U.S. troops. The photos are not "sensational," Obama said.

The reversal was criticized by the American Civil Liberties Union."The decision to not release the photographs makes a mockery of President Obama's promise of transparency and accountability," ACLU attorney Amrit Singh said. "It is essential that these photographs be released so that the public can examine for itself the full scale and scope of prisoner abuse that was conducted in its name."

Okay, did you see that quote from Obama? He said the photos were NOT "sensational." Well, grab one of the cupie doll prizes off the top shelf for Herr Leader! He actually might get it? The reason the photos aren't sensational is because the damn prisoners WERE NOT ABUSED! The ACLU doesn't give a shit if those prisoners were abused or not...all they are about is their supposed "transparency"....the ACLU is all about control and outting "The Man." This is war. We are at war in Afghanistan and Iraq..and the ACLU thinks we are looking at a civil case in Lincoln, Nebraska. And we have a President whose first reaction, his true feelings, was to release the photos to do two things: 1. Focus some blame on George W. Bush 2. Embarass the military. Only when a bunch of Generals got in Obama's face did he decide to change his mind.

Let's be clear on one thing. The ACLU is an enemy of America, we all know that. But the part that is hard to swallow folks, is your President hates his military...he doesn't hate war...he hates that America has the edge in war. I ask the military people of this country a question - how can you stomach this Commander in Chief?

Former Vice President Dick Cheney has been pushing back in recent television interviews, accusing the Obama administration of having compromised U.S. security by releasing the "torture memos," relating to how prisoners were questioned.The pictures in dispute show the alleged abuse of detainees at various locations. Pictures of abuse at the U.S.-run Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq already have been made public.Citing the Freedom of Information Act, the ACLU successfully sued for the release of the photos. After the rulings, the Justice Department agreed that further appeal would probably fail.But today, Gibbs said the Obama administration would pursue a different argument in any appeal. Obama believes that the national security implications of a release have not been fully presented, Gibbs said.Military leaders, including Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates and commanders in Iraq and Afghanistan, opposed the release, fearing growing anger in the Muslim world.
