Tit for Tat?

A Grammys skit poking fun at US President Donald Trump sparked a backlash on Twitter from Trump's eldest son and the ambassador to the United Nations.

In light-hearted political commentary during the music industry's biggest award night Sunday, host James Corden introduced a video of famous names reciting from the controversial book, "Fire and Fury: Inside The Trump White House."

Link.

That might have been a good skit but it certainly wouldn't live up to that skit at The Grammys back in 2010 when Lil Wayne dressed up in an Indonesian Muslim costume....went running after a dog on stage screaming "Allahu Ackbar" and then ended with with Lil Wayne eating the dog by a campfire, sitting on a prayer mat playing Hawaiian music on a ukelele wearing a Columbia University sweatshirt.

Afghan officials say death toll at 103 after Taliban 'ambulance' suicide bombing

Afghan officials say death toll at 103 after Taliban 'ambulance' suicide bombing

KABUL — Afghan authorities have raised the death toll from Saturday’s suicide bombing in Kabul to 103, as hundreds of people gathered for funerals or awaited word of loved ones outside hospitals and morgues.

The attacker, driving an ambulance filled with explosives, was able to race through a security checkpoint by saying he was transferring a patient to a hospital. The explosion damaged or destroyed dozens of shops and vehicles in the heart of the city, near government buildings.

Interior Minister Wais Ahmad Barmak provided the updated death toll on Sunday, saying another 235 people were wounded in the attack. He said police were among those killed and wounded.

He said the attackers drove two ambulances, both of which made it past the checkpoint before one of them turned around and left the area, indicating some of the attackers escaped.

The Taliban claimed the attack, which dealt a major blow to the U.S.-backed Afghan government. Afghan security forces have struggled to combat the Taliban since the U.S. and NATO formally concluded their combat mission at the end of 2014.

Saturday’s bombing took place in the heavily-guarded city centre, near a number of foreign embassies and the office of the High Peace Council, which is charged with promoting peace efforts with the Taliban and other groups. The Interior Ministry, which is in charge of the police, also has offices in the area.

Ahmad Fahim, a shopkeeper who survived Saturday’s attack, said several fellow merchants were wounded or killed. He said he had seen many victims who lost arms or legs in the blast.

The government declared a day of mourning, with shops closed and flags at half-staff.

The Memo

Members of the House on Thursday said they viewed a “shocking” classified memo allegedly detailing abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) by senior Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigations officials in relation to the investigation of the Trump campaign and called for it to be declassified and available to the public immediately.

“It’s troubling. It is shocking,” Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) told Fox News. “Part of me wishes that I didn’t read it because I don’t want to believe that those kinds of things could be happening in this country that I call home and love so much.”

The Reach of King David Is Long

Another one (almost) bites the dust.

From Reuters.

Bomb wounds Hamas member in Lebanon

BEIRUT (Reuters) - A bomb blast wounded a member of the Palestinian group Hamas in the Lebanese city of Sidon on Sunday, destroying his car as he was about to get in.

The target, Mohamed Hamdan, was not a publicly known Hamas figure in Lebanon. A statement from Hamas, the Islamist group that controls Gaza, confirmed he was a member of the group, without detailing his role, and said “initial indications” suggested Israel was behind the bombing.

There was no immediate comment from Israel.

Al-Manar television, run by the Lebanese political and military group Hezbollah, described Hamdan as an important figure in Hamas, adding that he appeared to have a security role and was being tracked by Israel.

The blast took place around noon (1000 GMT), the Lebanese army said in a statement. Security forces sealed off the site of the explosion, in a northern residential district of Sidon, 40 km (25 miles) south of Beirut.

The blast destroyed Hamdan’s silver BMW and sent a column of smoke into the sky, footage from the scene broadcast by Lebanese television stations showed. Fire fighters doused the vehicle.

A leader of the Palestinian Fatah movement in Lebanon said Hamdan was involved in operations in Israel. “The incident has Israeli fingerprints,” Mounir al-Maqdah, the Fatah official, told Reuters.

Hamdan was “slightly wounded” in the attack, a Hamas official in Sidon, Ayman Shanaa, told the Palestinian television station Paltoday.

Witnesses said the man targeted in the attack appeared to have been wounded in the leg. He was taken to hospital, where he was being treated. Sidon is home to two of the 12 Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.

Alive and Well In Germany - Political InCorrectness

Ban the Full Brazilian!

Okay, not exactly the typical posting here at Holger Awakens but consider this a new adventure into some sort of Public Service Announcement.   LOL

First disclaimer:  I do NOT speak for all men in America and have no idea what percentage I might speak for, as, believe it or not, this isn't the biggest topic of conversation for men as we sit at bars or around the open hood of a car.

Second disclaimer:  This is meant to share information with women, not piss them off, not tell them what to do.

Third disclaimer:  This is being written by a male of the Baby Boomer generation. Age IS a factor with this topic.

Ladies, it's a plea - BAN THE FULL BRAZILIAN!  In other words, PLEASE do not continue to go completely bare "down there."

Okay, now that we're over that completely uncomfortable opening salvo, let me get to the splaining part of this.  I think the easiest way to approach this is through bullet points.  And we must always keep one thing in mind, that the female form is truly one of the most exquisite aspects of G_d's creations.  But somewhere along the line, and it is my personal theory, that this was all started by some militant feminist faction, the word spread across all of the female ranks of the world that MEN LIKE WOMEN COMPLETELY BARE DOWN THERE.  And I'm here to say, from this one man's standpoint, that it simply is NOT TRUE.

Here's the list of reasons to Ban the Full Brazilian:

  • Men from my generation grew up with Playboy and Penthouse and Oui magazines.  As boys and then teenagers, we snuck these magazines into tree houses and fantasized.  Those photo spreads defined beauty and erotica, they became the gold standard and yes, in the vast majority of the photo spreads, the women were NOT bare down there.
  • From a purely physiological perspective of the MALE anatomy, there is a huge downside to the total removal of hair from the woman's pubic region.  Ladies, with the male counterpart to love making, this represents an area of skin that is THEE most sensitive probably known to the entire human race.  When we have an area of skin removed of all hair that then sees even the SLIGHTEST growth of ....let's just call it dainty stubble...we encounter a problem.  Houston, we have a problem.  We now have the most sensitive area of skin known to Man meeting an area more resembling sand paper.  We now encounter pain and discomfort.
  • Then there is the phobia aspect.  As a man, we are, thankfully, censored by the thought of the purely disgusting act of pedophilia.  Most men in this country have found themselves (uncomfortably) in the situation where they are at a beach, at some family pool party, or another venue where a very young girl is running around without her clothes on and we, as men, see this girl's form certainly long before the onset of puberty.  The instantaneous shock to our system is pronounced.  Not only do we nearly break our necks trying to look away from this but our second thought is to run away.  There is an image of BARENESS that, I believe, is intended to REVOLT us.  Thus, from an early time as a man...."bareness" is associated with "illegal", "sick" and "obscene."
Again, my theory is that the Brazilian Way was conjured up by the same people that decided it was time for men to go around in suits that were 3 sizes too small and had skinny legs.  The same people that decided that if a male wore pants so tight that eventually they would be rendered sterile.

Now I'm sure I will meet with huge backlash on this - there will be men that think Brazilian is an answer to a prayer, by women who profess this has revolutionized hygiene and women who insist this was demanded by fashion trends over the past 20 years.

But, I think there are others out there, just like me.  Men who have been too chicken, too politically correct, too spineless to actually say those four important words....."BAN THE FULL BRAZILIAN"

Israeli man killed in West Bank drive-by shooting attack

Victim identified as Raziel Shevach, 35, a father of six from a nearby outpost; IDF launches manhunt for terrorists

An Israeli man was fatally shot on Tuesday night near Nablus in the northern West Bank in a terror attack.

Rabbi Raziel Shevach, 35, died of his injuries at a Kfar Saba hospital after receiving initial treatment by medics at the scene of the attack, the Havat Gilad Junction.

The father of six came under fire in his car while driving past the junction, the army said.

Medics said he suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body and his condition deteriorated as he was taken to the hospital.

Shevach was a resident of the nearby Havat Gilad outpost, neighbors said. He was a rabbi in a yeshiva and a mohel by profession, according to reports.

Reports said Shevach — who was also a volunteer medic — had alerted security forces, telling them he had been shot from a passing Palestinian car.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters, and two sons. His oldest child is 11 years old and the youngest is eight months, according to a local official.

His wife earlier on Tuesday evening told the Ynet news site that he “called me, and said, ‘I’ve been shot, call an ambulance.’ I’m still shocked and horrified at how easily they gun us down. We’re on our way to the hospital, we don’t know his condition. I want to ask everyone to pray for him.”

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the attack and said soldiers were searching the area for the shooters.
