Obama’s National Security Fraud

From Family Security Matters.

Obama’s National Security Fraud

Unlike you, federal government officials are immune from charges of fraud. The executive branch, vested with all of the government's prosecutorial authority and discretion, is not going to investigate its own operatives for carrying out its own mendacious policies.

That is the story of last week's Boston Marathon bombing and the frantic efforts of the bombers, the brothers Tsarnaev, to evade capture, shoot it out with police (one of whom they killed, and another of whom they wounded), and - we're now told - detonate more bombs in Times Square.

The Times Square non-attack is quite interesting. The specter of it, projected in the immediate wake of the Marathon murders and maimings, is horrific . . . so horrific that the government, in leaking this tidbit from its botched interrogation of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, knew that news media were certain to lead their broadcasts with it. The press would never wonder why they, and thus we, were being told about it.

But why were they told? Remember, the Times Square bombing not only never happened, it never came close to happening. It was, at most, a passing jihadist fantasy, one that the jihadists in question peremptorily dismissed as implausible. The threat was no more real than those that regularly stream out of Islamic-supremacist mosques and, just as regularly, go studiously unreported.

Mind you, there is nothing inappropriate about government officials' speaking about matters on the public record - such as the allegations lodged in criminal complaints. But the Times Square non-attack is not mentioned in the complaint filed against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. In fact, the complaint includes no information from Tsarnaev's interrogation.

Yet somehow the airwaves are now full of startling revelations from his Miranda-aborted 16-hour post-arrest interview, including not least his confession, and, of course, his assurance, as Allah is his witness, that no one other than he and his Svengali older brother - and certainly no foreign Islamic terrorist organization - had anything to do with their terror spree.

Strange, isn't it? We are governed by leftists given to finger-wagging about their commitment to due process and the rule of law - they're not like those bad old warmongering Bushies. Still, here we are in the post-arrest phase of the civilian prosecution the administration was hell-bent on commencing - the phase when due process obliges government officials to remain mum about non-public investigative information that could taint the jury pool and undermine the defendant's right to a fair trial - and we're being inundated with stunning confession evidence.

Remember, this is the same crowd that labels the Fort Hood massacre "workplace violence" and won't honor its victims with Purple Heart medals. To do so, they sniff, might prejudice the objectivity of the trial of a jihadist mass murderer who has publicly announced he'd like to plead guilty. Now, though, in Tsarnaev's case, government agencies are leaking like sieves.

Why?

Because you are being softened up. Steered by its Gitmo Bar veterans and Lawyer Left compass, the Obama administration is executing a massive national-security fraud: the farce that the jihad against America can be judicialized, that civilian-court processes are a better answer to enemy warfare than are combat protocols.

That is why Eric Holder's Justice Department, together with the FBI, darted into federal court in Boston last Sunday evening to file the complaint against Tsarnaev. Obama was determined to end the public debate over whether the jihadist is a wartime enemy combatant or a mere criminal defendant. As in the case of Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, Osama bin Laden's son-in-law and al-Qaeda's alleged "consigliere," who was whisked into the country and into civilian court before anyone even realized he'd been captured, the administration calculated that a fait accompli is the best way to impose the president's deeply unpopular preferences.

So now, the next necessary deception in the campaign is to convince you that - all together now - "the system worked." In reality, the civilian justice system did not work, and that is because it cannot work - not if the objective is the swift acquisition of vital national-defense information.

It could not be more obvious to an objective, rational person that if the aim is intelligence collection, it is far better to interrogate a terrorist without limitations on time and subject matter, without the interference of a defense lawyer, and without empowering the detainee by giving him plea-bargaining leverage to trade for information. The Obama administration, however, is telling you, with a straight face, that the imposition of civilian due process will produce intelligence just as effectively, if not better.

Most people, of course, realize that this is impossible if Miranda warnings must be given. So the administration rolls out canard No. 1: the "public-safety exception." The public is led to believe that this exception means agents have at least 48 hours of freewheeling interrogation before Miranda kicks in and the terrorist clams up (upon lawyering up). This is brazenly false.

The public-safety exception is an exceedingly limited end-around. It applies only when arrest is accompanied by an immediate threat to public safety. It is not designed to provide the government with an information-gathering advantage against the arrestee. It is narrowly tailored to address the threat that triggers the exception.

There is no 48 hours. The exception ends when the threat ends - which, in the view of most courts, happens as soon as the detainee is rendered defenseless. This usually amounts to something closer to 48 seconds than to 48 hours. Moreover, the exception is not a license to do an extensive intelligence debriefing; the pre-Miranda questioning must be tailored to the threat - along the lines of, "Where is the gun?" or "Where are the unexploded bombs?" The public-safety exception does not cover "Where did your brother get terrorist training in Dagestan?"

For intelligence purposes, the public-safety exception to Miranda does not come close to putting arrest in the civilian-justice system on par with enemy-combatant detention. The administration rightly figures the public does not know this, but to anyone with a passing acquaintance with the relevant law, the suggestion that the two paths are comparable is insulting.

Thus canard No. 2: The judge did it. The administration and its accomplices on Capitol Hill have spread the story that the Tsarnaev interrogation was going just swimmingly when, to the shock of everyone, a magistrate judge barged into the hospital room and Mirandized the terrorist, abruptly ending the hugely successful intelligence effort. This, too, is utter nonsense.

As the Justice Department well knows, the filing of the criminal complaint is the action that vested the federal court with jurisdiction to act. The moment the complaint was filed, everyone involved in that decision knew that the rules of criminal procedure mandated a prompt "presentment" hearing before a magistrate judge, who would be required by statute to advise Tsarnaev of his rights to counsel and to stop speaking with government agents. Indeed, it is customary that the Justice Department prosecutors on the case orchestrate these proceedings as soon as they file the complaint. They make sure a defense lawyer is assigned by the court, schedule a hearing time with the magistrate judge, and arrange for a court reporter and, if necessary, an interpreter.

The whole point of the presentment is to get the arrested person out of the government's clutches and into the Bill of Rights' carapace. Moreover, when an arrestee is incapacitated, as Tsarnaev was, it is unexceptional to convene the presentment at a hospital - and the magistrate judge and defense lawyer cannot get into the location where the detainee is held under heavy security unless the Justice Department arranges for that to happen.

It was not the magistrate judge who decided Tsarnaev should be Mirandized. It was President Obama and Attorney General Holder.

That being the case, we are now witnessing canard No. 3: There may have been a few bumps in the road, but we learned everything we needed to know in the Tsarnaev interrogation.

Ridiculous. A competent intelligence debriefing involves weeks, if not months, of questioning. That's because its aim is to develop a complete threat mosaic and arrange our defenses accordingly. By contrast, a post-arrest interrogation by law enforcement is designed to obtain a confession for use at trial. It is not an intelligence-gathering exercise, which is why its purposes can be served by 16 hours of questioning - and often a lot less.

An intelligence debriefing means following the leads uncovered in the questioning of the detainee, then repeatedly coming back to the detainee for clarification and additional insight as new information is discovered. That is not something that can or should be permitted in the case of a criminal defendant presumed innocent; it is for the extraordinary case of a wartime enemy operative who is part of the forces waging jihad against our country.

Obama and the Lawyer Left know this. Anyone who took a few minutes to think about it would know it. But in their twisted conceit that the threat to our nation results not from the enemy's ideology but from American aggression, they have convinced themselves that American aggression (what the rest of us call national defense) must be hamstrung by civilian due process - that war can be reduced to crime, even if the enemy declines to play by the rules.

So in the effort to tame you into believing civilian due process has proved wildly successful in the Marathon bombing investigation, just as Obama and Holder promised it would, the government is now strategically leaking interrogation details.

Sure it may look like the investigation was a tragicomedy of errors in which our $100 billion national-security edifice, despite investigating Tamerlan Tsarnaev for a year and a half before the bombing, had to ask the public's help in identifying a picture of him. But look: We stopped a spectacular bombing at Times Square! And sure, there's a lot of innuendo about Islam and overseas "extremists," but after 16 hours of penetrating scrutiny we've figured out that this was just wanton "homegrown" violence committed by a couple of confused kids - the sort of thing that is bound to happen if we don't crack down on gun ownership and Islamophobia.

The fraud is on. Will we keep falling for it?

The Warning: Islamic Terrorist Cells Are In America...Waiting To Strike

This truly is a fascinating article from Family Security Matters that I missed the first time around that it ran in The American Thinker - fascinating not only in what the author portrays about the fact that islamic terror cells are well entrenched in America but provides some incredible inside looks into the Iraq War and activities in Saudi Arabia.

Some riveting points from the article:

My mission was to interact with Saudi military officials in order to determine the support we could expect from the Saudi government, to determine if Iraqis were monitoring the activities of the U.S. forces at Arar, and to infiltrate the encampments of the Bedouin community (Saudis and Iraqis living in the desert of Arar).

During January 2003 and Feb 2003, Saudi Intelligence officers would boast that the American military was overreacting about Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction. Their bravery changed as we approached the invasion of Iraq in Mar 2003. The high-ranking Saudi officers were scrambling to obtain gas masks and other protective equipment. They knew their equipment was substandard and they wanted U.S.-made protective equipment. We gave them some of ours. The Saudi Intelligence officers were visibly frightened about a potential chemical, biological, or nuclear attack and expressed their fears.

While in Iraq we determined the following:

1. Russian activity in Iraq had been rampant several months prior to the war and up until the day before the invasion.

2. Iranians were infiltrating southern Iraq by the thousands and were preparing to assist insurgents in removing U.S. forces from Iraq.

3. We found numerous pieces of evidence indicating WMD were in Iraq before the war began and some were still in Iraq.

4. I and other agents were informed by Iraqis that a civil war would erupt and violence against U.S. forces would increase due to the Iranian and Russian influence.

But probably the most disturbing issues brought up by the author involves the situation right here in America...regarding islamic terror cells in place in our very own neighborhoods:

3. Terrorist sleeper cells are located primarily in Virginia, New York, North Carolina, Michigan, Florida, California, and Canada. The "sleepers" are prepared to conduct terrorist attacks within the U.S., and nuclear material is available to them. "Prepared" in this instance indicates they have the necessary tools to carry out their attacks and are prepared to die.

As I have pointed out on many occasions, the head of the Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, has basically been running a game plan of reaction - there has been little presented by her to actively discover, root out and nail terror cells in America. We have seen some plots discovered but when you read the details of those, often times we got extremely lucky. My main complaint with Napolitano is she is in charge of keeping us safe from islamic terrorism in this country yet her every move is dictated by here sensitivity to political correctness and socio-political appearances.

Sleeper Cells in the USA

There is every reason to suspect that we will endure suicide missions by Islamist sleeper cells. They are already in place. They are waiting for the right time. I know this from experience.

I have worked over 15 years as a U.S. Federal Agent, a U.S. State Department Arabic linguist, and the first civilian Federal Agent deployed into Iraq at the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Since returning from Iraq I have been involved in terrorism analysis, specifically the mindset of terrorists. During my extensive research on sleeper cells I have talked with hundreds of people from the Middle East from all walks of life, and have talked with Iraqi Government officials, Iraqi military and Iraqi police officers. In addition I have interviewed numerous counter-terrorism specialists in the U.S. and abroad. In 2006 I trained over 4000 U.S. Law Enforcement officers in Basic Investigative Arabic and counter-terrorism. The conclusions of my research lead to the title of this article.

Before I departed for the Middle East in 2003 I had been assigned to Kirtland AFB, NM. Kirtland has some of the best scientists in the world working on U.S. Government projects. I had been working closely with these scientists who specialized in nuclear energy, directed energy, laser technology, bio-weapons and more. I fully understand the impact if suicide bombers begin progressing from conventional explosives to unconventional methods.

The Middle East

In Jan 2003, I was assigned to Arar Air Base Saudi Arabia. Arar is located near the border of Iraq. This involved leaving the relatively safe confines of Arar Air Base and driving to the Bedouin camps.

It was most important the Saudis did not know we were leaving the compound because they had forbidden us to do so. Four U.S. special Agents would use our ATV's and/or four wheel drive vehicles to conduct these missions. The Saudi Government had active spies collecting information pertaining to our troop strength, our weapons, and any other intelligence they could obtain. The Saudis were providing the intelligence to the Saudi Government, and we were very confident it was also being passed to Iraqi intelligence.

All of this information was provided through intelligence channels, but was ignored. Today we are seeing the results of our intelligence being ignored in 2003.

Vulnerability at home

Upon returning from Iraq I left Federal Service to pursue a career educating U.S. law enforcement in the U.S. I wrote a book titled "Arabic for law enforcement and military". During my lectures to local, county, and state law enforcement officers it was revealed the true first line defenders in the U.S. are not trained nor prepared to combat terrorism in the U.S. (through no fault of their own). The local law enforcement agencies were not receiving adequate funds or assistance from the Federal Government to fight terrorism. The majority advised they were supposed to be the first line defenders, but in actuality they did not even know what Al-Qaeda meant, and/or could not point out Iraq or Iran on a map. They had no Arabic language training.

I began conducting research and talking with experts from various fields and determined three significant facts that I corroborated by further research:

1. The terrorists groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and Al-Qaeda each had different leaders and to some degree operated in different ways, but they each had the same two goals (destroy Israel and destroy America and any country that supported either).

2. Our nuclear research centers were very vulnerable to an attack and the potential for a suicide bomber using a dirty radiological bomb from these facilities was and is a high probability. Note: Vic Walter and Brian Ross of ABC News did an excellent report on the lack of security at these facilities. I received an enormous amount of information from individuals associated with Russian nuclear programs that there is nuclear material being sold on the black market and nuclear material is in the hands of Islamic Extremists.

4. Non profit organizations such as CAIR, ISNA, MANA, MSA, and several other Islamic based groups are in actuality simply fronts for Al Qaeda and Hamas. The leadership within these groups receives funds and training from the Saudi government. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) allows these groups to operate freely throughout the U.S. and at American’s taxpayer’s expense. Essentially the IRS grants the groups immunity and the authority to train, organize, and prepare for attacks against our country. Why? Because CAIR and other such groups have a confidential informant network much better than even our FBI. CAIR uses contractors such as Corey Saylor (Simple Resolve Company) to place interns into our elected official’s offices, and into organizations such as the IRS.

Terrorist operations are active in the U.S. and are being operated/financed by Al Qaeda throughout the U.S.

U.S. citizens need to understand there are people trained and prepared to carry our suicide missions in the U.S. and nothing are off limits. Churches, malls, and even the schools our children attend are not off limits to suicide bombers. It is only a relatively short time before the U.S. will begin seeing suicide terrorist missions.

I will continue to research terrorism related issues in the U.S. and Canada and will bring forward the results. Nuclear reactors are located on a large number of major university campuses in the U.S. There locations are not classified and are described on the internet.

Children are the ones who suffer in wartime and I want to prevent any child from ever having to experience a terrorist attack.

Government Agency Proves That Radioactive Materials For "Dirty" Bombs Are Easily Brought In Through Both Canadian and Mexican Borders

Think about it, we've had a HUGE uproar over the past month regarding what the American public has to go through just in order to board a plane and travel to Grandma's house for Thanksgiving or for Christmas, and at the same time, a federal watchdog agency proved the ease with which they could cross our northern and southern borders with illegal radioactive materials which could be used to make a "dirty" bomb.

I'm sure that makes us all feel all safe and secure, right?

I have this vision of 400 people lined up inside of an airport in Pittsburgh going through the body scan machines and the pat downs as a guy pulls up curbside outside the terminal and detonates a dirty bomb in his van.

From the article at Family Security Matters:

Using counterfeit documents and posing as employees of a company with a Nuclear Regulatory Commission license, FSI investigators successfully crossed the U.S. northern and southern borders with the type of radioactive materials that could be used to make a dirty bomb.

The Government Accountability Office's Forensic Audits and Special Investigations team (FSI), which was created in 2005 as an interdisciplinary team consisting of investigators, auditors, and analysts, conducts covert tests at the request of the Congress to identify vulnerabilities and internal control weaknesses at executive branch agencies.

These vulnerabilities and internal control weaknesses include those that could compromise homeland security, affect public safety, or have a financial impact on taxpayer's dollars.

FSI conducts covert tests as "red team" operations, meaning that FSI does not notify agencies in advance about the testing. Recently, concerns have arisen as to whether top management at the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) were negatively impacting the results of red team operations by leaking information to security screeners at the nation's airports in advance of covert testing operations.

These operations provided the Congress with irrefutable evidence about the actual ability of federal agencies under "live" conditions to deal with security threats and to protect government assets from fraudsters.

* Using counterfeit documents and posing as employees of a company with a Nuclear Regulatory Commission license, FSI investigators successfully crossed the U.S. northern and southern borders with the type of radioactive materials that could be used to make a dirty bomb.

* Posing as private citizens, FSI investigators purchased sensitive military equipment -- including ceramic body armor inserts, guided missile radar test sets, and microcircuits used in F-14 fighter aircraft -- on the Internet from the Department of Defense's liquidation sales contractor.

Bottom line of all of this is that it points to the complete cluelessness of the Department of Homeland Security since Janet Napolitano took over - the sheer incompetence of this woman has been demonstrated time and time again yet I hear crickets when it comes to her firing or resignation.

I've become convinced that the only thing that will wake up Congress and the American people to the threats we are under is ANOTHER 9/11 - I'm not fear mongering, I'm being realistic. The gaps are there for the enemy to come in, the glitches in oversight are there for that enemy to plot an effective attack and the complacency of all involved is there to see that the attack is successful.

I ask you to go back to the Presidential election of 2008 - look back at the number of Americans who placed "National security" at the top of their list of priorities and you'll understand why we are ripe for attack. The American people fell for the marketing campaign of a rookie politician and in the same act of pulling that voting lever, they handed the keys to the kingdom to the jihadis.

Covert operations: Red Teams Test Security Vulnerabilities in U.S.

Recently, concerns have arisen as to whether top management at the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) were negatively impacting the results of red team operations by leaking information to security screeners at the nation's airports in advance of covert testing operations.

Consequently, GAO was asked by the U.S. Congress to briefly explain FSI's processes and procedures concerning covert testing and as well as provide examples of covert activities performed

FSI has strict internal procedures related to the planning, execution, and reporting of covert activities. First, FSI and senior GAO management decide on a case-by-case basis whether engagements requiring covert tests are within the scope of GAO's authority.

Next, FSI identifies the aspects of the security system or the government program that are particularly vulnerable to terrorist threats or fraudulent activities and relies on the experience of its investigators to develop a written investigative plan. This plan typically includes the creation of fictitious identities and counterfeit documentation.

All counterfeit documents that FSI uses are manufactured using hardware, software, and materials that are available to the general public -- this allows FSI to demonstrate that any security vulnerabilities it finds could be exploited by a criminal or terrorist with moderate means and resources and would not require sophisticated insider knowledge.

FSI's investigators are the only GAO staff allowed to participate in the execution phase of testing, although audit and analyst staff are often involved in planning and operational support. Importantly, if investigators discover vulnerabilities that pose a significant and immediate threat to public safety, FSI immediately will discontinue its investigation and alert the appropriate government law enforcement agency.

Once the operation is complete, FSI conducts a "corrective action briefing" with officials at the tested entity to report that they have been the subject of a covert operation, share the results of the testing and, if necessary, suggest potential remedies for any identified control weaknesses or security vulnerabilities.

These operations provided the Congress with irrefutable evidence about the actual ability of federal agencies under "live" conditions to deal with security threats and to protect government assets from fraudsters.

* Using bogus driver's licenses, FSI investigators successfully gained entry to all 24 Department of Transportation regulated urine collection sites that FSI tested, which are responsible for providing drug testing of commercial truck drivers in safety sensitive transportation positions.

* Using false documents and an erroneous IRS taxpayer identification number, FSI pretended to be a charity and successfully applied to three of the Combined Financial Campaign's local 2006 campaigns.

The Brilliance of Janet Napolitano...Let's Let Muslim Women Pat THEMSELVES Down!

Brilliant, isn't it? Our flawless and decisive leader of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, is rumored to be considering an altering of the new TSA regulations for searching passengers on airliners - specifically a change to how muslim women in muslim garb are patted down during a security check. The new procedure for these muslim women would only allow patting down of the woman around the face and neck and as for the rest of her body (where she would actually be carrying a bomb or weapon or liquid)...well, that patting down would be left up to the muslim woman herself!

From the article at The Greeley Gazette:

The head of Homeland Security has indicated the government is considering the request of an Islamic organization that has suggested Muslim women be allowed to pat themselves down during a full body search that is part of new enhanced procedures at airports.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, CAIR, has expressed concern with the TSA over the regulations and recommended special procedures for dealing with Muslim women. The organization issued a travel advisory for Muslims over the procedure.

In the advisory CAIR advises all Muslims to contact them and file a complaint with the TSA if they experience any “disturbing incidents” with the new procedures and they feel they have been unfairly singled out for screening.

It goes on to make special recommendations for Muslim women wearing a hijab covering their face. The advisory says women are to inform the officer they are only to pat down the head and neck and says “They should not subject you to a full-body or partial body pat-down.” They also recommend that women should be permitted to pat themselves down and “have the officers perform a chemical swipe of your hands.”

Barack Obama’s Homeland Security Czar, Janet Napolitano, is considering changes to the procedures to address the issues raised by CAIR.
As you can see from the article, leave it to CAIR to come up with this fantastic alternative plan for muslims. You know CAIR, that organization of radical islamic terrorists who oversee all of the special rights that muslims should be afforded in America. Yeah, that CAIR.

The fact that Napolitano would do anything other than laugh these islamic asshats out of the building is beyond the pale and to actually consider this is preposterous (and a reminder that Obama really knows how to pick a defender of our national security).

You know, I have a better idea. We create a new airline called AllahIsTheBomb Airways and only muslims can fly that airline and it is the only airline they can fly. There will be zero security on those planes - muslims simply get to the airport and walk right on board the plane. Flight attendants and pilots for the airline will be hand-picked as those muslims who have no chance of entering Paradise without the martyrdom card being played. See? This way I can get on a plane without taking my shoes off or having a 60 yr old pervert either looking at a photo of my nude body or groping my groin and muslims don't have to worry about anyone touching them at all.

Everyone wins!

Napolitano considering allowing Muslim women to pat themselves down at Airports!

With the holidays fast approaching, the Transportation Safety Agency has announced new security procedures requiring passengers selected for secondary screening to go through a machine that produces a full body scan producing a nude but grainy, black and white image. Passengers choosing to opt out of the scan will face a full body pat.

The head of Homeland Security has indicated the government is considering the request of an Islamic organization that has suggested Muslim women be allowed to pat themselves down during a full body search that is part of new enhanced procedures at airports.

Since implementing the procedures, numerous complaints have arisen that the search is not a “pat-down” but rather feeling and grabbing along a person’s genitalia and other areas until they meet resistance. Critics have said the pat-downs would be considered sexual assault if performed elsewhere.

The TSA defends the procedures as necessary in light of last years “underwear bomber” and the recent issues involving printer cartridges being used in an attempt to blow up cargo planes.

Since announcing the rules, several organizations have expressed concern over the procedures. Pilots and flight crews have expressed concern about constant exposure to the low level radiation generated by the machine, but the government denies any danger from having the scan done. The U.S. Airline Pilots Association has issued instructions to members to call in sick and not board a flight if they are too upset to fly after a pat-down. The Allied Pilots Association has urged members to boycott the body imaging machines.

At least one website has recommended Americans boycott the body scans by recommending everyone chosen for additional screening on Nov. 24 to opt out of the body scans and choose the pat down. Some have expressed alarm over the recommendation saying it could slow down or halt the security process on the day before Thanksgiving.

New Jersey lawmakers have pending resolutions demanding Congress tell the TSA that people must not be forced to give up their fourth amendment rights when they choose to travel by airline.

A Reuters poll asking if individuals were less likely to fly as a result of the new procedures revealed 96 percent of respondents affirming they would make alternate travel plans to avoid intrusive security and pat-downs.

John Whitehead, president of the Rutherford Institute, said the regulations came straight from the President himself.

In a recent commentary Whitehead said “legislation has been proposed to mandate full-body scanners and make them the primary screening method in all U.S. airports by 2013, but Congress has yet to act on it. So we can thank Barack Obama for this frontal assault on our Fourth Amendment rights.” He went on to say “Yet in the wake of the bumbling underwear bomber’s botched Christmas Day attempt to blow up a Detroit-bound plane, Obama directed the Homeland Security Department to acquire $1 billion in advanced-technology equipment, including body scanners, for screening passengers at airports.”

The machines have been purchased from California based Rapiscan Systems. The company is a client of the Chertoff Group, a security consulting agency headed by former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff who has lobbied for the need for installing the machines in airports.

Janet Napolitano's 4,000 Word DHS Statement On Terrorism Mentions "Islam" ... Once

At least the Obama administration is consistent. They continue to shield us Americans from any mention of "Islam" or "Islamic Terror" or "radical Islam" in their statements about the threat of terrorism in our country. And it gets more blatant and ludicrous with each statement, with each publication.

In the latest formal statement from the Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano has issued a lengthy report on the terror threat in America and in that statement totalling about 4,000 words, she uses the words "Islam" or "Islamic" ....just once.

And just how did she use it that one time? Take a look from the article at Family Security Matters:

While al Qaeda continues to threaten America directly, it also inspires its affiliates and other groups and individuals who share its violent ideology and seek to attack the United States claiming it is in the name of Islam - a claim that is widely rejected.

The rest of the article looks at what we know about terror in America and the mountain of evidence that shows the link to islamic influence.

I ask a simple question. If there was breaking news today that a group of suicide bombers had hit downtown Chicago killing 224 people on the streets and in a restaurant, is there ONE SINGLE AMERICAN who would not instantly believe that this was done by islamic terrorists? Yet our Obama administration does everything possible to insulate their islamic friends and partners from any mention in this reality.

One more question. If you lived in a community that had been hit by a serial killer who had killed 13 women in the past four months, would you not expect local law enforcement to publish the most accurate description available in order to warn you of possible suspects?

Of course you would. Hey Janet, give it to us straight or get the fuck out of that office.

The Terrorism That Dare Not Speak Its Name

Janet Napolitano has made a statement on terrorism, nine years after 9/11. We have reproduced it for you to read here. Some parts of her speech are reassuring, indicating that the administration is acknowledging that America is under threat of terrorism, and that it is trying to do something about this threat.

That is the good news. The bad news comes from the politically correct bias that infuses the whole document. The statement itself seems to be inappropriately late, considering its title is "Nine Years After 9/11: Confronting the Terrorist Threat to the Homeland."

Why was this statement not made sooner, and closer to the anniversary of 9/11? Why wait 11 days before releasing it? Had it not been written at the time of the anniversary, or was the administration trying so hard to dissociate Islam from terrorism?

The document is almost 4,000 words long. But how many times is the word “Islam” mentioned? The word is mentioned only once and then, bizarrely, Napolitano says that Islam has nothing to do with Islamist terrorism (not that she mentions Islamism either):

It is clear that the threat of al Qaeda-style terrorism is not limited to the al-Qaeda core group, or organizations that have close operational links to al Qaeda. While al Qaeda continues to threaten America directly, it also inspires its affiliates and other groups and individuals who share its violent ideology and seek to attack the United States claiming it is in the name of Islam - a claim that is widely rejected.

Napolitano fails to state just WHO widely rejects the claim that al-Qaeda is inspired by Islam. Has she read the Koran, or the Hadiths? Has she studied the history of Islam? Or is she just parroting the Muslim-Brotherhood inspired baloney that is currently being promoted by White House staff and advisers? Or is this some personal weakness on her part?

Back in March 2009, when she was a newly appointed Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, she was interviewed by German magazine Der Spiegel. She had just given her first testimony before Congress, and was asked she had never mentioned the word “terrorism” in this address. She had replied:

I presume there is always a threat from terrorism. In my speech, although I did not use the word "terrorism," I referred to "man-caused" disasters. That is perhaps only a nuance, but it demonstrates that we want to move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur.

Family Security Matters’ contributors gave their scathing responses to this deliberate pussyfooting around terminology. Changing the name of an object or ideology is dishonest, and not mentioning the problem at all is equally dishonest. It may be politically correct, so that no-one is offended, but such ventures are catastrophic.

Now, eighteen months after she tried to describe terrorism as “man-caused disasters”, Napolitano has progressed far enough to actually mention the word “terrorism,” but she is still trying to put sugar-frosting onto something very unpleasant. On issues of national security and the safety of innocent civilians, it is important to be honest about the nature of the threat. Unless there is some information we are not aware of, the majority of terrorist threats – as Napolitano admits – share the same violent ideology as “al-Qaeda.” In other words, the participants see themselves as inspired by Islam.

In her speech, Napolitano states:

“And the profiles of Americans who have been arrested on terror charges, or who we know are involved in terrorism overseas, indicate that there is no "typical" profile of a homegrown terrorist. While we work to address violent extremism, we must acknowledge that there is much we do not know about how individuals come to adopt violent extremist beliefs.”

This much is true, in a technical sense. Formerly, Islamist terrorists were regarded as ill-educated, based on the sort of people recruited by terror-masters in Palestinian regions, or the people traditionally used by the JMB, Jamaat ud-Dawa, Lashkar-e-Taiba and other groups to carry out terror attacks. Simple people with no hope could be persuaded to blow themselves up, safe in the hope of the embraces of 72 virgins after their “martyrdom.” Those recruited to become Hamas suicide bombers in Palestinian territories would do so. Safe in the knowledge that their families would be rewarded with payments from charity groups such as the Bethlehem Orphans Fund.

That traditional image of the dead-end suicide bomber – destined to fail in life, but able to be a hero of Islamic jihad by killing – was turned on its head by the events of 9/11. Many of the 19 terrorists who took part in the bombings were intelligent, and were students. On June 30, 2007, an attempt to drive an incendiary car bomb into the gates of Glasgow International Airport was made by two doctors. One of these, Bilal Abdullah, was an Iraqi-born doctor who worked at a Scottish hospital.

Most Muslims are not violent terrorists who are out to destroy Western society. However, those who do carry out terrorist attacks tend to be extremely devout Muslims who adopt a literalist approach to their faith. Salafists (who try to emulate the actions of the “Salaf” or companions of the Prophet Mohammed) are extreme literalist Muslims, but even then, only a few will commit jihad.

There are groups such as Tablighi Jamaat that has been associated with “missionary” work among disaffected young Muslims. In France, Tablighi is particularly active in prisons. John Walker Lind, the American Taliban, was indoctrinated by Tablighi Jamaat. Mohammed Sidique Khan, the head of the 7/7 cell of suicide bombers who killed 52 people in London in 2005, used to visit the Markazi Jamaat in Savile Town, Dewsbury. This is the headquarters of the British branch of the Tablighi movement. Kafeel Ahmed, who was one of the two doctors who tried to blow up Glasgow International Airport in 2007 and died of burns a month later, was a Tablighi Jamaat member.

On August 10, 2006, a plot to blow up airliners bound for America was foiled. Some of the individuals who had plotted to use liquid explosives to blow up transatlantic planes were members of Tablighi Jamaat. Of these, Waheed Zaman, who was a student of biomedical science, was convicted and jailed in July this year, and Assad Sarwar admitted his part in the plot in July 2008.

Tablighi Jamaat was founded in Mewat in India in 1927, and its ideology is based closely upon the Deobandi movement. The Deobandi movement is connected intimately with the Taliban of Afghanistan and Pakistan. When Tablighi Jamaat held a conference in Waziristan in 2006 in Pakistan’s tribal regions, the Taliban arranged a ceasefire to allow safe passage for attendees. In Britain, 600 of the nation’s 1400 mosques are affiliated to the Deobandi movement.

The Deobandi movement, which believes girls should not be educated, and which encourages Muslims not to mix with Jews or Christians, could easily be considered to be an ante-chamber of terrorism. Its ideology of literalist Islam, much as that of the Salafist movement, aims to recreate the behavior of the first companions of Mohammed. In Pakistan, Deobandis run 8,350 of the nation’s 13,000 madrassas. Considering the fact that most of the Afghan Taliban’s leaders were educated at Sami ul-Haq’s Haqqania madrassa in northwestern Pakistan, the potentially pernicious influence of Deobandism cannot be ignored.

American mosques that preach and support Deobandi tenets, and those that preach Wahhabism, must be seen as part of the problem in terrorism indoctrination. The notorious Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Virginia, where Anwar al-Awlaki was an imam, was visited by at least one of the 9/11 terrorists. It was built on land purchased in 1983 by NAIT (North American Islamic Trust, a Muslim Brotherhood front group, classed recently as a co-0conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial), and the mosque itself was completed with Saudi government money.

Superficially, a terrorist can appear normal in dress and manners. Few terrorists in the West conform to the cartoon image of a bearded fanatic dressed in Arabic-style clothing. Mohammed Atta, supposed leader of the 9/11 hijackers, was clean shaven and wore Western dress. Such “Takfiri” (apparent apostates from ‘true’ Islam) agents are the most successful terrorists because they draw little attention to themselves as they develop their deadly missions.

The issue of terrorism is complex, and ideologically, Islamic terrorism is exceedingly hard to quantify. Superficially, the deeds of the Muslim Brotherhood are not “violent” but their form of Islam aims (as does that of al-Qaeda and “related groups” who follow a “violent ideology”) to sabotage the West and to ultimately overthrow democracy and replace it with a Muslim Caliphate. But even the Muslim Brotherhood, which claims to be non-violent in its successful mission to gain acceptance in the White House and other Western institutions, is not free from the taint of terrorism. Hamas is a terrorist group, and is also a wing of the Muslim Brotherhood.

So, even though Secretary Napolitano is technically right when she states that “there is much we do not know about how individuals come to adopt violent extremist beliefs,” there is much that can be known about extremist beliefs, and it is through extremist beliefs that devout Muslims can become terrorists.

It is possible that the statement on terrorism has appeared late, in its bowdlerized form, omitting mention of Islam, because of the circumstances surrounding the Ground Zero mosque. America is said to have become deeply Islamophobic recently, and this is a problem.

However, the blame for this problem must partly lie in the hands of the administration (including Janet Napolitano) for not identifying the problem of Islamism accurately. The White House has openly supported Imam Rauf and even paid for him to be an envoy of the government. Yet for many Americans, Rauf is not the tolerant character that everyone states. When there is a disconnect between what people are told and what they can see, they become angry.

When people in the establishment take so seriously the silencing of a pastor from Gainseville, Florida, in case his proposed Koran-burning caused violence, they admit that Islam is potentially violent. When everyone sees that Muslims in Muslim countries make violent protests anyway, and need precious little excuse to burn flags and bibles, to deny that there is a serious flaw at the heart of Islam is of itself a problem.

Islam was founded on violence, and that is an ugly fact that even moderate Muslims deny. There is a need to either reform Islam or to confront it head-on. It is not in anyone’s benefit to appease extremists in an attempt to protect moderates. If the nation cannot discuss the violence at the heart of Islam, it will always remain as a problem.

Take the example from the book of Islamic jurisprudence, “The Reliance of the Traveller.” This book was written by Shafi’i scholar Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri, who lived from 1302 to 1367. His book was recently translated from Arabic into English, and this was given approval by the Al Azhar University. Al Azhar is the largest Sunni institution in the world. Only the Darul Uloom in Deoband, northern India (home of Deobandi thinking), approaches it in size. With Al Azhar authorizing this book, it has been legitimated as “mainstream” Sunni thought. It contains numerous highly disturbing passages.

It states that jihad is compulsory, and that every able-bodied man must engage in it. The “Objectives of Jihad” are described as: “The caliph makes war upon Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians until they become Muslim or else pay the Muslim poll tax. The caliph fights all other peoples until they become Muslim.”

Justification for acts of war are said by al-Misri to derive from the Koran (2: 216, 4: 489, 4:89, 4: 95, 9:29) and from various Hadiths. The book was produced by the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), based in Hendon, Virginia. The IIIT was founded with money from the Muslim Brotherhood and still maintains close links with Muslim Brotherhood members.

As I wrote earlier, the current administration is already far too close to the Muslim Brotherhood, having not learned from the Clinton administration’s experiences with Muslim Brotherhood member and terrorist Abdurahman Alamoudi.

Janet Napolitano is short-changing the American people when she refuses to mention Islam in a discussion of American terrorism. She admits that there is an increase in terrorism that is “home-grown”, but again, these terrorists are indoctrinated by extremist Muslim groups. The Muslim Brotherhood may dress in suits, but their role is that of “good cop” to the “bad cop” of Al Qaeda – their ultimate aims are the same.

America needs to wake up, and not to condemn all Muslims. Most Muslims are pawns and victims of the machinations of the Muslim Brotherhood members and their Saudi paymasters who pose as “representatives”.

Islam could thrive in America, but only if it is a revised Islam, where the violent jihadist texts are officially abrogated. Literalist forms of Islam – supporting polygamy, wife-beating and hatred of Jews and Christians - are never going to be compatible with American values.

It is time the administration acknowledged that there is a world of difference between genuinely moderate Muslims who accept the primacy of democratic law (who are probably seen as “apostates” by most official Muslim representatives in the USA right now), and those who wish to see Sharia law overthrow democracy.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents Declare Their Leadership Is Corrupt and Incompetent

Finally! The agents that work in the agency of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (known as ICE) have issued a letter of no confidence in their leadership and that in essence, that leadership is putting the American people in harm's way.

From the article at Family Security Matters:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents overwhelmingly say that their department's leadership has become politicized to the point of affecting the effectiveness of ICE.

ICE agents through their union claim their leaders have little regard for the safety of American people. Their union has released a letter announcing its recent unanimous “vote of no confidence” in ICE agency heads, accusing them of “misleading the American public” regarding illegal immigration in order to further a pro-amnesty agenda.

The National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council and its affiliated local councils cast a unanimous 259-0 vote of no confidence in ICE Director John Morton and Assistant Director Phyllis Coven, according to Fox News Channel's Martha MacCallum.
So, let's discuss their leader, John Morton, just a little bit here. Here's a little glimpse from the past about Morton's placement at ICE:

President Obama announced today his intention to nominate John Morton to be the Assistant Secretary for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano named Esther Olavarria as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy.
“John Morton and Esther Olavarria are tremendous additions to our Homeland Security team. Both have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to public service and both will be able and effective partners as we tackle the very complex issues surrounding immigration and securing of our borders,” Secretary Napolitano said.

Oh, I see ... another dredge from the Department of Justice that Barack Hussein Obama and Janet Napolitano appointed - imagine that....Barack Hussein Obama with ANOTHER incompetent appointment. But let's look further - John Morton and Eric Holder both came out of the Justice department and were both hand picked by Obama. And both have pushed the envelope in any kind of enforcement against either minorities or illegals - just a coincidence? I think not.

Let's face it - the Obama administration has been orchestrated, if not constructed, with the intent and strategy of corrupting all of the agencies involved in law enforcement and policy regulation. Let's put it another way - it would be like hiring a staff of maintenance people for your manufacturing facility who know nothing about fixing equipment but are adept at dismantling all of that machinery. These are not qualified appointments - these are agents of sabotage that were hand picked for that exact purpose.

Tell me, dear reader, how many czars have been appointed with sabotage in mind? How many cabinet members have been appointed with the shoddiest of resumes? And how many agency heads, like ICE's Morton, appeared out of the shadows only to soar into a situation of absolute chaos?

ICE Chiefs Get "No Confidence" Vote From Their Agents

The National Council members criticized the ICE leadership and claim they created "misguided and reckless initiatives,” and claim ICE managers “abandoned the Agency’s core mission of enforcing United States immigration laws and providing for public safety, and have instead directed their attention to campaigning for policies and programs related to amnesty.”

Besides Morton's and Coven's low marks, the Obama Administration recently appointed a former police chief, who believes in illegal alien sanctuary city policies, to command the immigration enforcement program that entails federal agents working with local police departments on cases involving illegal aliens.

As part of the Homeland Security Department's anti-terrorism mission, the new director for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Office of State and Local Coordination is now Harold Hurtt, an outspoken critic of immigration enforcement on the local level such as Arizona's new immigration enforcement law.

"As police chief in two different cities with huge illegal alien populations—Phoenix and Houston—Hurtt enforced don’t-ask-don’t-tell immigration measures that prevented officers from inquiring about a suspects’ legal status in the U.S.," according to officials at Judicial Watch, a non-partisan, public-interest group that investigates public corruption.

In his new post, Hurtt will receive a salary $180,000 a year plus benefits to oversee outreach and communication between federal immigration staff and local law enforcement agencies. He is charged with strengthening the collaboration between local police and federal immigration officials in an effort to combat a crisis that has rocked practically every major U.S. city and many small municipalities, according to Judicial Watch officials.

Homeland Security officials are promoting Hurtt as “a respected member of the law enforcement community” who will be an “invaluable asset to ICE’s outreach and coordination efforts.”

However, the reality is quite different, say proponents of tough immigration enforcement. Chief Hurtt is on record opposing immigration enforcement and as police chief protected the most violent of criminals. Hurtt has even testified before Congress that local police should not assist with immigration enforcement, say officials at Judicial Watch.

President Barack Obama has ordered the Justice Department to fight the Arizona law, which he claims is racist and unconstitutional. Officials in sanctuary cities couldn’t agree more and they want illegal aliens in their beloved city to feel safe.

"We can expect Chief Hurtt to continue to 'protect' criminal aliens as part of the Obama Administration's 'national security team" that includes other leftists who side with criminal aliens such as Attorney General Eric Holder, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and other Obama appointees," said former military intelligence officer and NYPD police detective Mike Snopes.

His pro-immigration policies enabled illegal immigrants with extensive criminal histories to murder two police officers and seriously injure another while he was chief in Phoenix and later in Houston. Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against Hurtt on behalf of the deceased Houston officer’s wife for implementing the sanctuary policies that led to her husband’s murder at the hands of an illegal alien fugitive.

In the 2007 incident, Officer Rodney Johnson was brutally shot by a previously deported illegal immigrant during a traffic stop. The illegal alien, Juan Quintero, had an extensive criminal record and had been deported three years earlier for molesting a child.

The Mexican national had also been in trouble for driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license and for failing to stop and provide information after an automobile accident. When Johnson arrested him, Quintero shot him four times in the back of the head with a 9 millimeter handgun concealed in the waistband of his pants.

Some illegal aliens in the United States have been arrested and incarcerated in federal and state prisons and local jails, adding to already overcrowded prisons and jails. On April 7, 2007, the US Justice Department issued a report on criminal aliens that were incarcerated in federal and state prisons and local jails.

In the population study of 55,322 illegal aliens, researchers found that they were arrested at least a total of 459,614 times, averaging about 8 arrests per illegal alien. Nearly all had more than 1 arrest. Thirty-eight percent (about 21,000) had between 2 and 5 arrests, 32 percent (about 18,000) had between 6 and 10 arrests, and 26 percent (about 15,000) had 11 or more arrests. Most of the arrests occurred after 1990.

They were arrested for a total of about 700,000 criminal offenses, averaging about 13 offenses per illegal alien. One arrest incident may include multiple offenses, a fact that explains why there are nearly one and half times more offenses than arrests. Almost all of these illegal aliens were arrested for more than 1 offense. Slightly more than half of the 55,322 illegal aliens had between 2 and 10 offenses.

"[Hurtt's] appointment is simply one more nail in the coffin of America's sovereignty," Det. Snopes said.

U.S. Congresswoman Stands Up To Napolitano, Demands DHS Investigation of Hezbollah Infiltration of Arizona Border

As I have mentioned here time after time, there is one person in the U.S. House of Representatives who is unquestionably the supreme defender of America's security against islamic terror and that person is Rep. Sue Myrick of North Carolina. While the Obama administration is busy and all-consumed with finding ways to combat the gall of the State of Arizona to actually try to enforce the security of its border with Mexico against enemy invastion, Sue Myrick has cast the porous border in the light of an even more ominous threat - the threat of islamic terror group, Hezbollah, using the Arizona border as entry into America.

From the article at Fox News:

Iran-tied terror group Hezbollah may be colluding with drug cartels along the U.S.-Mexico border, a Republican congresswoman warned, calling on Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to establish a special task force to figure out how to "clamp down" on this "national security" threat.

In her letter to Napolitano, Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., called on Homeland Security to find out and report more on the extent of the problem. She cited several troubling developments that would point to Hezbollah creeping closer to and inside the United States, with the help of Mexican drug gangs.

"It is vital we know what is happening on our border, especially as crime and violence continue to rise there and as terrorist plots and threats are increasing inside the U.S.," she wrote.

Myrick outlined a complex set of potential threats and evidence of their existence. She said "Iranian agents and members of Hezbollah" are thought to be learning Spanish in Hugo Chavez-run Venezuela before trying to obtain false documents to enter the United States as purported Mexicans. She said Hezbollah, known for its tunnel-digging skill, could be receiving drug money from cartel operations in exchange for help forging better tunnels across the U.S. border for trafficking.
Rep. Myrick has been called an "islamophobe" by every muslim organization in America including the likes of CAIR and we all know what that means - she's right on target with her concerns and warnings. The point of all of this is this - what will it finally take for the Obama administration to finally secure our border? Will it take a terrorist attack on America that kills hundreds, perhaps thousands of Americans, that can be traced to the unprotected border?

Allow me to be blunt. We have Department of Homeland Security forces keeping watch on the eastern seaboard for any aspect of islamic terror breaches at our seaports and airports, yet they totally ignore the ports of entry of the likes of Hezbollah in Arizona - all because the 2012 election looms ahead and Barack Hussein Obama needs an influx of potential new voters necessary to get him over the top for reelection.

At what point does it become necessary to remove a President for his inability to protect the citizens of America?

Congresswoman Raises Red Flag on Hezbollah-Cartel Nexus on U.S. Border

The Lebanon-based group has long-standing and documented ties to South America and its drug gangs, but reports have recently surfaced that it may be expanding its influence to Mexico and the U.S. border.

She said gang members in prisons in the American southwest are starting to show up with tattoos in Farsi, implying a "Persian influence that can likely be traced back to Iran and its proxy army, Hezbollah."

FoxNews.com has reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for comment on the numerous claims.

Myrick cited the opinions and findings of former intelligence officials and others in her detailed letter. One of them was a "high-ranking Mexican Army officer" whom she said believes Hezbollah could be training Mexican drug cartels to make bombs.

"This might lead to Israel-like car bombings of Mexican/USA border personnel or National Guard units," she wrote.

At a minimum, Hezbollah has a foothold in South America, according to official reports.

Anthony Placido, assistant administrator for intelligence at the Drug Enforcement Administration, told a House Oversight and Government Reform subcommittee in March that the "drug and terrorism nexus" is strongest in the region where the borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet. He said drugs from this region, which are cheaper than in other hot spots, "can be resold in other countries for large profits desired by those seeking funds to further terrorist activity such as Hezbollah."

He said some drug traffickers in the region have ties to the Lebanese terror group and have since the late 1980s or early 1990s.

"There are numerous reports of cocaine proceeds entering the coffers of Islamic Radical Groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas," he said, calling it "easy revenue" that can be used for terror attacks.

An April Congressional Research Service report on drug trafficking in Latin America cited that testimony.

A 2006 House Homeland Security Committee report further noted that Hezbollah members have already been caught entering the United States via Mexico, suggesting expanded activity. The report cited as one example the case of Mahmoud Youssef Kourani, the brother of a Hezbollah chief, who in 2005 pleaded guilty to providing material support to Hezbollah after being smuggled across the U.S.-Mexico border and settling in Dearborn, Mich.

The report raised red flags about the "dangerous intersection between traditional transnational criminal activities ... and more ominous threats to national security."

President Obama and Janet Napolitano, We Want the Deputy Secretary of ICE Fired Now!

I think most of us were beyond rage the other day when the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security's "Immigration and Customs Enforcement" or ICE alluded to the fact that he might just not process any illegals nabbed via the Arizona enforcement of Federal immigration laws. Way beyond rage. And this article from Family Security Matters does a good job of describing what we all want - fire John Morton's ass now.

Here's some from the article:

Morton, backed up by his boss, Secretary Janet Napolitano, said that ICE has the discretion to not process illegal aliens they encounter. He agrees with the president when he said that Arizona’s recently passed immigration law was “misguided,” and he recently said that the solution to the illegal immigration problem was through a comprehensive federal approach, and not patchwork by the various states. Translation: Amnesty to all illegal aliens. He also said that ICE will instead concentrate its efforts in other states to go after employers who knowingly hire illegals.

Has Mr. Morton even read the Arizona legislation? Why should he if members of the administration including Sec. Napolitano and Attorney General Eric Holder haven’t either? Ignorance is bliss. I read it, and if those most critical of the law did the same, they would see the template for a model federal law. They would read that the new Arizona law compels law enforcement officers to check the immigration status of persons they feel may be here illegally. The state law differs from federal law in that it compels its officers to do something about the illegal alien problem while the feds get a pass because of “discretion.” There’s the problem. Federal agents should be compelled to enforce all federal laws being broken in their presence, especially immigration laws.

Let's look at it this way - let's pretend that it's still the Bush administration in charge and one of the officials in that administration made the statement that perhaps they just wouldn't process any people accused of violating newly created Hate Crime legislation. Now, how would that go over with the Left? You're right, they'd be screaming like banshees and holding House committee hearings starting the next day - there would be 100 calls for the firing of that official.

Well, here's call #2 for John Morton to be fired, immediately.

Fire the ICE Man for Not Doing His Duty

In probably the most outrageous statement a federal official could ever make, John Morton, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) (pictured above), said that his agency would “not necessarily” process illegal aliens captured by Arizona law enforcement. Isn’t that his job?

Instead of criticizing Arizona’s common sense immigration law, AG Holder should embrace it and lobby for an identical federal law that will go a long way in reversing illegal immigration. The Arizona law has tough penalties for employers who knowingly hire illegals, or whose sub-contractors do. One of the penalties is the loss of their business and professional licenses.

The Arizona law also forbids public officials and state entities from restricting the exchange of information between state and local police and ICE to determine if someone is in the country illegally. In contrast, cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco declare themselves “sanctuary cities” and forbid their officers from enforcing the law.

An administration that ignores a state’s plight of being overrun by illegals that are killing its residents and have already made its capital city the kidnapping capital of the country, is simply siding with the opposition instead of its own citizens. It’s the epitome of dereliction of duty to protect U.S. citizens. Instead, President Calderon of Mexico is invited to the White House to politely tell Arizonians to get screwed. When compared to Mexico’s immigration policies, Arizona’s law is wimpy.

A prudent administration would immediately fire Morton and Napolitano, and dispatch every available ICE agent to Arizona, along with hundreds of FBI, DEA and ATF agents, on a temporary duty basis, to get the situation under control. It would lobby Congress to immediately pass a federal law granting the authority for all local law enforcement officers to enforce federal immigration law and require them, during a lawful police encounter, to check the legal status of all suspected illegal immigrants. If the person is clearly in the country illegally, local law enforcement officers would be compelled to arrest them and turn them over to ICE or the Border Patrol for deportation. Instead, this administration prefers hugs to arrests, and sees illegals as a means to add numbers to its political party in order to retain power.

A prudent administration would scrap any notion of “reforming” immigration law and instead enforce existing law. Until that is done, reforms can wait. It would lobby Congress to pass legislation compelling all public schools to check the legal status of existing and future students. This way the first lady won’t be embarrassed again when she visits a classroom and a little girl tells her that her mother “doesn’t have papers,” like what happened a week ago.

A law compelling public housing agencies to determine the legal status of prospective residents would have prevented the president’s illegal alien aunt from getting rent-free accommodations for as many years as she did before she was finally caught and then given a free pass by an immigration judge.

If illegal aliens knew the first time a cop stopped them for a traffic violation in the morning they would be on a bus back to Tijuana that night, they might not come here illegally in the first place.

Arizona has shown the courage and leadership this country badly needs. That’s why 70 percent of the nation supports the new law.

Here We Go Again, Flight Diverted To Jacksonville, Is There A No-Fly List Passenger On Board? UPDATED: False Alarm

I told everyone weeks ago that there is blood in the water concerning America's vulnerability to terrorists and at this very moment, news is dribbling in about a flight that originated in Newark headed to Bogota, Columbia that has had to be diverted to the Jacksonville, Florida airport because a passenger's name matches that of a name on the No-Fly list.

Good grief. How in the world is an airliner two hours or so into it's flight plan and THEN someone decides to check the list of passengers?!!!

Oh yeah baby....Janet Napolitano...she's the best ain't she? Quite an operation at DHS you got going there Janet.

I'm guessing this is going to turn out to be a false alarm but who knows with the keystone kops we have running our national security right now. Here's the story from the LA Times.

UPDATE:

Okay, I just heard on local news that this scare IS a false alarm. The name didn't actually match that on the No Fly list. Boy, that makes you feel better doesn't it? Oh wait, if the names don't match, then why was the plane diverted?

Flight diverted to Florida due to concerns about passenger

Government officials say a flight was diverted to Jacksonville, Fla., because a passenger on board was an apparent match to a name on the terrorist watch list.Law enforcement officials are looking into whether the passenger is actually a suspected terrorist listed on the government's no-fly list.An airline is not supposed to issue a boarding pass to a person on the no-fly list. It was not immediately clear which airline was involved.According to an internal government report, the flight originated in Newark and was bound for Bogota, Colombia. It was diverted to Jacksonville International Airport. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to discuss the incident.

Why Is Janet Napolitano Ignoring The Visa Process That The Terrorists Are Abusing To Attack America?

An excellent article here from Family Security Matters that addresses the issue of how terrorists are obtaining visas to the United States and how Homeland Security head Janet Napolitano and the State Department are completely ignoring the glitches in the system.

I don't know...perhaps Janet Incompetentitano figures it would be just too "unfair" to people to have their visa applications scrutinized...since it obviously is everyone's right to come to America and certainly not a privilege, correct?

Exclusive: Napolitano Still Ignoring Critical Issues Surrounding Visa Process

Our nation nearly suffered the tragedy of fatalities at the hand of a suicide bomber in the skies over the United States this past Christmas. Yet Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano is still ignoring the critically important issues concerning the process by which visas are issued, including the Visa Waiver Program.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the terrorist who attempted to destroy the airliner this past Christmas, was operating in conjunction with al Qaeda and but for the failure of the high- powered explosive he was carrying in his underwear, headlines around the world would have carried the horrific news of hundreds of innocent airline passengers losing their lives in a mid-air explosion, much the same way as the 259 passengers and crew of Pan Am 103 were slaughtered as their airliner flew above Lockerbie, Scotland on December 21, 1988. That explosion also killed 11 people on the ground when the debris from that Boeing 747 fell.

The unsuccessful bombing of the Delta airlines flight also paralleled the effort by the so-called "Shoe Bomber" Richard Reid to detonate explosives that were concealed in his shoe on December 22, 2002 as American Airlines Flight 63, a Boeing 767 airliner in which he was a passenger, cruised over the Atlantic Ocean, en route to the United States from Paris to its intended destination of Miami. In the aftermath of his attempt to destroy the airliner and all of the people onboard over the Atlantic Ocean, the decision was made to divert the airliner to Logan Airport in Boston. Reid claimed to have been operating at the behest of al Qaeda.

Richard Reid is a citizen of Great Britain and as such was eligible to seek to enter the United States under the auspices of the Visa Waiver Program. The most recent attack committed this past Christmas was attempted by a Nigerian citizen, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab who, unlike Reid, was required to first obtain a visa in order to apply for admission into the United States.

If he had been unable to obtain a visa, he would not have been able to get on board the airliner he was determined to destroy in midair.

While it is possible that when Mr. Abdulmutallab applied for his visa our intelligence officials had no knowledge about him or his nefarious plans, but I am frankly, not convinced of this. His visa, from what I have read in the various newspaper accounts of his attempted attack, was issued in 2008. I have a number of questions that should be of great concern to Ms Napolitano and others in our government, but no one seems to be the least bit interested.

The focus of the media appearances and press releases seems to be on the methods by which passengers boarding airliners are screened to make certain that they don't bring explosives onboard airliners. There is also some concern about information sharing and the "No Fly" list, but where is the concern about the fact that an al Qaeda operative had been able to secure a visa for the United States? Why is there no mention of the process by which visas are issued?

The 9/11 Commission, with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, made much of the program that had been known as "Visa Express," in which travel agencies were able to literally send boxes of passports to the United States Embassies and Consulates in order to secure visas for their clients without their clients having to show up at the visa issuing post for an interview.

The process by which visas are issued is supposed to provide a layer of protection for our nation and our citizens. Any security expert will tell you that security measures work best when they are layered. They will also tell you that the best place to construct a fence is at the furthest extremity of the property you are trying to secure against an attack. By requiring visas, our country, in effect, moves its secure perimeter out to the visa issuing post located at a Consulate or Embassy.

However, if the process by which applications for visas are adjudicated is flawed, then the benefits to be gained through this process are greatly diminished or eliminated altogether.

Yet it is being ignored by Ms Napolitano and, thus far, by every other member of the administration who spoken to reporters.

Don't misunderstand what I am saying – the measures that are discussed in the press release linked above are worthwhile, but the omission of any mention of the visa process is disturbing to me. Also, the presumption is being made that the lessons to be taken away from this attempted attack deal solely with keeping the bad guys and their explosives off of airliners. I certainly believe that these are important goals.

What I want to know is why is no one asking the obvious questions about what might have happened had Abdulmutallab decided to not attempt to destroy the airliner in mid-flight but was rather, intent on entering the United States and carrying out an attack inside the United States? The only reason that he was immediately identified as a terrorist is that he attempted to detonate a bomb on an airliner.

If his goal was to simply enter our country and embed himself in a community inside the United States and bide his time as he or his cohorts sought to decide upon a target in our country and attack such a target at a later date, then he might well have been admitted into the United States and under such circumstances would have been working towards a terrorist attack inside our country that could have had a devastating impact on our nation and our citizens.

The Secretary of Homeland Security is the boss to whom the officials at CBP (Customs and Border Protection) and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) answer, but Napolitano's failures to address the critically important missions of both CBP and ICE along with the visa issuing process leave me astonished.

The attempted Christmas attack was referred to as an "isolated" incident. How isolated an incident was it? Consider that both Pan Am 103 and the airliner that Reid had attempted to destroy over the Atlantic Ocean both took place in the Middle of December – perhaps because this is the time Christians celebrate Christmas and Jews celebrate Chanukah.

All three attacks sought to destroy airliners in flight.

Additionally, we have seen several other terrorist attacks including the shooting incident at Fort Hood inside the United States that was carried out by U.S. Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, on November 5, 2009, in which 13 soldiers were killed and dozens were wounded.

I find it impossible to understand how the Christmas attack is an "isolated incident.” The threat posed by terrorists is not limited to the destruction of airliners, but also includes the potential for massive casualties inflicted inside the United States as we saw on September 11, 2001.

If Ms. Napolitano is not even talking about the process by which aliens are vetted for visas to enter the United States and board airliners to come to the United States, then I am greatly concerned that she does not even understand the issues. How then will she correct what is broken if she does not even recognize that it is broken?

It is completely unacceptable that the Secretary of Homeland Security fails to demonstrate that she understands the role that agencies under her command must play to secure our nation against terrorists.

Obama's Christmas Terror Attack News Conference Today - The Cliff Notes

Okay, I know you people are busy, so I have below the "Cliff Notes" version of what President Barack Hussein Obama said today at his press conference where he was to detail the failings of our security systems against terror attacks. Here's the gist of it:

Obama said (paraphrased): We fucked up. We had all of the necessary information needed on the bomber aboard NW Flight #253 but no one had put all of the pieces of the puzzle together. In other words, folks, I have installed mostly bureaucrats throughout my security defense departments and since they usually don't take any kind of initiative or action without someone holding their hand, they were just sitting on the information regarding the bomber because their superiors were busy helping me ensure that the American revolution towards a Marxist socialist society is on track.

We had leads that this attack would occur but no one felt the need to wrap their arms around the threat and act upon it. It's unfortunate but this is not uncommon when dealing with individuals who are more concerned about ensuring the common good than than the safety of the people.

From now on, I will take responsibilities for any failures in our security but I'm sure that won't happen because I had a real "talking to" with the people involved in this lapse of performance.

There you have it folks. Words from Teh One. Y'all feel safe as a bug in a rug now, dontcha?
