Finally, Something GOOD Comes Out of the U.S. Senate - The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee adopts a resolution which stipulates that the U.S. will assist Israel in an attack against Iran

Finally, the U.S. Senate has done a good thing.  Finally, part of this damn federal government of ours has sent a signal to the world that all ethics and honor in this country are not dead.

A resolution stating that America will assist Israel in the event of an Iranian attack has passed through the Senate committee and is assured of passage as 76 Senators have co-sponsored the bill.

I bet this will drive Obama nuts.

Senators Approve Resolution to Assist Israel in Iran Strike


The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee adopted on Tuesday a resolution which stipulates that the U.S. will assist Israel if it is forced to take action against Iran.

The resolution, Senate Resolution 65, was introduced last month by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) and was co-sponsored by 15 Senators, including Robert Menendez (D-New Jersey), Marco Rubio (R-Florida), Kelly Ayotte (R-New Hampshire), John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Chuck Schumer (D-New York).

It states that the United States has a vital national interest in and unbreakable commitment to, ensuring the existence, survival, and security of the State of Israel; reaffirms the United States support for Israel’s right to self-defense; and urges that if Israel is compelled to take military action in self-defense, the United States will stand with Israel and provide diplomatic, military, and economic support in its defense of its territory, people, and existence.

It also states that U.S. policy is to halt Iranian nuclear ambitions. Senate Resolution 65 gained the support of 70 of the 100 senators.

A statement issued by AIPAC following the vote said, “The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has sent a very clear and enormously important message of solidarity with Israel against the Iranian nuclear threat—which endangers American, Israeli, and international security. AIPAC urges the full Senate to act expeditiously to adopt the resolution.”

On Tuesday, Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon said that “the regime in Tehran does not see the western world as determined to stop the nuclear project, so it allows itself to continue with its plans.

“Only putting the Iranian regime before the dilemma of ‘bomb, or survival’ will lead to the end of the project,” he said.

“The world must take the lead in the standoff with Iran, but Israel must prepare for the possibility that it will need to protect itself alone,” he added.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu also referred to the Iranian nuclear threat on Tuesday, comparing it to the recent behavior of North Korea. He made the comments during a reception for foreign diplomats.

"We have recently seen the results of a wild regime that possesses nuclear weapons,” he said. “We have also seen that heavy sanctions are not always effective against a sufficiently determined regime.

“Therefore, we have an obligation to ensure that this will not happen again. If Iran achieves nuclear weapons, this will change the world. When I said this in the past, many listened and agreed, but now it is possible to agree from an additional perspective, and I think that all governments must do everything possible in order to ensure that this danger is not realized," said Netanyahu.

Democrats In U.S. Senate Blocking Resolution To Honor Britain's Lady Thatcher

The members of the United States Senate are supposed to be statesmen.  These 100 individuals occupy the most powerful seats in our Government other than the President.  Their concern is supposed to be that of the entire country, not just their state.  And we see the Marxists of the U.S. Senate resort to the childish behavior of blocking a resolution to honor the former Prime Minister of Britain.  Let me ask the question...what the fuck did Margaret Thatcher ever do to Dick Durbin? or Harry Reid?  or Barbara Boxer?  You're right, not a damn thing.

This is the Left's war on women - it started with Sarah Palin and now they have proven that even the most "stately" of leftist politicians in this country have been reduced to attacking a woman who is dead.

DISGRACEFUL: U.S. Liberals are Blocking Resolution to Honor Lady Thatcher

Senators belonging to the Democratic Party of the United States are reportedly blocking a Senate resolution honouring the life and work of the late Margaret Thatcher, who passed away earlier this week.

The Heritage Foundation reports that a Senate resolution to honour Lady Thatcher was supposed to pass last night. However, "well placed sources on the Hill", have reported that Democrats have a hold on the resolution.

Writing for Heritage's Forge Blog, Katherine Rosario, think-tank's Communications Deputy said: "To refuse to honor a woman of such great historical and political significance, who was deeply loyal to the United States, is petty and shameful. One truly has to wonder, what is it about Lady Thatcher that gives them pause? Her unfaltering commitment to freedom? Or perhaps the way she fought for individual liberty and limited government?"

Congress used traditional bereavement procedures, the same model they used for John F. Kennedy, described as a simple, solemn means of honouring the individual by passing a resolution and immediately adjourning.

Britain’s House of Commons was recalled, bringing members of Parliament back from vacation to honour Lady Thatcher.

Rosario also stated, "One would naturally think it impossible that anyone would hesitate – even for an instant – to honour the woman who tackled communism head on as prime minister of Great Britain. Lady Margaret Thatcher was a principled politician who helped to foster the special relationship between Great Britain and the United States that we all benefit from today."

Department of Defense's Fear of "Islamophobia" Called On the Mat In Senate Ft. Hood Report

I truly commend the U.S. Senate for taking it to the Department of Defense in regards to their investigation of the Ft. Hood massacre. I commend them for calling a spade a spade. The question is...will the Department of Defense decide to put its game face on here in America like it does overseas on the battlefield?

"We are concerned that DoD's failure to address violent Islamist extremism by its name signals to the bureaucracy as a whole that the subject is taboo," the report said, "and raises the potential that DoD's actions to confront radicalization to violent Islamist extremism will be inefficient and ineffective."

Now, believe me, I'm not holding up our politicians as a shining example of those who have brought the fight to radical islam in America - the opposite is true....as they have cowered to public pressure as well, so there is a little bit of the pot calling the kettle black here, but at the same time, the Senate could have watered down this report and they did not.

The key here though is whether our legislators are willing to give the Department of Defense the green light to shed all shackles of islamophobia and truly react as they should against extremist islamic threats.

I know for a fact that there are U.S. Senators who will leap to the floor of the Senate in outcry if one Muslim soldier were to cry out that he was discriminated against by military leaders. But it is time to make the Senate put their money where there mouth is and as soon as a Senator raises any objection, this report gets thrown in his/her face.

Senate Fort Hood Report Blasts Defense Timidity


Major Nidal Malik Hasan's odd behavior – telling colleagues that the United States was at war with Islam, justifying suicide bombing and saying his religious loyalties outweighed his oath to protect America – provided ample justification to kick him out of the Army under existing policies.

But a Senate committee report issued Thursday faults a culture of timidity toward violent Islamist extremism within the Department of Defense (DoD). That culture not only allowed Hasan to continue to serve as an Army psychiatrist, but contributed to glowing performance evaluations that helped the DoD and the FBI miss critical signs that Hasan was a "ticking time bomb."

That bomb went off Nov. 5, 2009, when Hasan is accused of opening fire inside a Fort Hood processing center, killing 13 people and wounding 32 others. The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs report lists "a string of failures" which allowed "the deadliest terrorist attack within the United States since September 11 ,2001" to take place.

It offers a detailed narrative of Hasan's behavior leading up to the attack, most of which is already known, including his radical statements and communication with American-born al-Qaida cleric Anwar al-Awlaki. It repeatedly emphasizes the military's refusal to invoke the violent Islamist extremism that drove him to act, referring instead to mere violent extremism.

"We are concerned that DoD's failure to address violent Islamist extremism by its name signals to the bureaucracy as a whole that the subject is taboo," the report said, "and raises the potential that DoD's actions to confront radicalization to violent Islamist extremism will be inefficient and ineffective."

As evidence, Pentagon reports about the attack have avoided calling it a terrorist attack and failed to reference Hasan's radical Islamist ideology.

Several of Hasan's peers complained about his radical statements, including those in presentations made as part of his medical residency. That included reaction to a 2007 talk called Is the War on Terror a War on Islam: An Islamic Perspective? It was interrupted after just two minutes after classmates "erupted in protest." The presentation justified suicide bombings, offered a defense of Osama bin Laden and said anger at America can be justified, the report said.

Other officers reported that Hasan said "his religion took precedence over the U.S. Constitution he swore to support and defend as a U.S. military officer." After that, he proposed a study of Muslims in the military to see if they too had religious conflicts. Among his proposed questions was whether "Islam creates an expectation that Muslim soldiers would help enemies of the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Hasan's evaluations mentioned none of this and he was not disciplined. He came off "as a star officer recommended for promotion to major, whose research on violent Islamist extremism would assist U.S. counterterrorism efforts."

One officer blamed a combination of ignorance and political correctness, saying a fear of discrimination complaints prompted people to look the other way. But Hasan's superiors said they simply were not as concerned by Hasan's actions. Religion was part of his identity, the officer said, and some of his emotions were understandable.

Hasan was scheduled for a deployment to Afghanistan in the fall of 2009, something the Senate report's authors found incredible.

"In other words, despite Hasan's history of radicalization to violent Islamist extremism," the report said, "Hasan was scheduled for deployment to provide psychiatric care under stressful conditions in a combat zone in which the U.S. military is battling violent Islamist extremists."

Hasan's positive evaluations contributed to the FBI's failure to pick up on the building threat. When investigators learned Hasan was communicating with Awlaki, they dismissed it as legitimate research into religious extremism by an Army psychologist.

The report also faulted the FBI for communication failures between its field offices and headquarters regarding Hasan's communication with Awlaki. The investigation that was conducted focused on whether Hasan was engaged in terrorist activity, overlooking the issue of whether his outreach to Awlaki placed him on the path to radicalization and action.

The Defense Department should beef up its educational and discrimination policies to draw a clear line between Muslims in uniform and people adhering to a violent Islamist ideology, the report recommends. That would help remove any pall of suspicion falling on thousands of Muslim Americans in uniform and would help commanders feel more confident should they have to address "displays of violent Islamist extremism among servicemembers."

Is the U.S. Senate About To Take Your Kids Away and Give Them To the Federal Government?

This is a disturbing look at some legislation currently at the U.S. Senate that plays ball with the insidious "U.N Convention on the Rights of the Child."

So there you have it, America - we now sit on the precipice that may just conclude that the misfits of the United Nations, those representatives of countries where they can't even process their human waste, are possibly going to spread to us the idea that the government has the final decision on how your children are raised, what they can do and what they should be exposed to.

The fact that this "legislation" would even be brought up at the U.S. Senate is absurdity.

e placed The Holy Suit and Tie once again upon His body, and ascended once again to the Dome.  There the assembled chapter of the Congress, the Holy Justices of the land, the members of the anointed Cabinet and guests from near and far sat awaiting His words.  Unlike the year before, He wasn't popular.  Every plan, every idea He had, was rejected by the people.

"We do not want your Cap and Trade, Health Care, or other Moonbat ideas.  Your bowing down to dictators, despots and tyrants around the world does not put us at ease You have apologized to everyone for all the supposed evils that we were suspected of doing.  You are getting ready to destroy our laws, by declaring the Holy Document invalid.  We have heard enough lies from you, your dogs Emanuel, Axelrod, Pelosi and Reid.  We've heard them all and we've learned a couple of things."

The Anointed One just smiled and then addressed the Nation:

short year ago I took office, but that is just a breeze in time.  Look back upon our Founding Fathers, our struggles during the Civil War, the Depression.  We did not flounder or despair.  Nor did we despair through out the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement.  And I will not despair now.

For I inherited a bad economy that was shaken to its core.  I opposed all of the bailouts done, for I saw the harm they will do.  My stimulus plan has created jobs in teaching, rescue, construction and other sectors.

I said I would create jobs, and that I will do.  For every man and woman.  New industries, new factories, Red, White, Blue, and Green.  We must compete with China, Korea, and Germany too.  This we must excel in if we are going to continually survive.

I could go on all night, but that will do no good at all.  I promised you Hope and Change, and did not lie to you on that, for I am not President #43.

And after The Anointed One had finished His speech, His  followers were full of glee.  For they just knew that once again He had saved the day.

But from right across the river, from the city of Richmond in the land of Virginia, came a new prophet from the right.  Bob The Wise McDonnell.

The Prophet spoke of those with a job, how 1 in 10 lost theirs.
He spoke of the despair the nation felt, of how the economy  was gone.
He spoke of the need for smaller government, how The Anointed One did spend.
He said that the time for spending cuts and freezes were last year, not when your polling number has shown you have failed.

The Prophet McDonnell told the people that it isn't too late.
That the time has come to sit and wait,
So The Anointed One could not shove His agenda down our throats.

He told the assembled people and media the truth.
And our solutions aren't 1,000-page bills that no one has fully read,
After being crafted behind closed doors with special interests.

He told them this and more.

 And through it all, the world went on, the nation will endure.

The GOP got Teddy's seat, they can get more they will.
For the people have seen the truth, heard the lies and broken promises.

They are the ones, in Midterm years, come out in droves to vote.

Reid, Frank and Boxer, plus many more are running scared tonight.
For the GOP has the will, the drive and the clout,
To drive the Moonbats back into the dark.

We just have to wait for November to do it!
