U.S. Air Strikes Inside Pakistan Kill Key Al Qaeda Operative, 26 Others Dead As Doornails

Huge news ! Excellent! The U.S. conducted two different air strikes in the NW area of Pakistan fairly close to the Afghanistan border and in the process killed 27 al Qaeda, Taliban and various other foreign pieces of shit. One of those dead is a real prize - Abu Kasha Iraqi who is an al Qaeda coordinator in that he USED TO bridge some of the gap between al Qaeda forces and Taliban forces. Well, now good old Abu Kasha is strolling the fires of hell wondering why his 72 virgins look like minotaurs.

Here's the latest details on the strikes from Breitbart:

Suspected U.S. missiles slammed into two villages close to the Afghan border on Friday, killing 27 people including an Arab al-Qaida operative and other foreign militants, intelligence officials said.
The al-Qaida member was identified as Abu Kasha Iraqi, the officials said on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
He had been living in Pakistan's tribal region for about three years, from where he had been organizing attacks on foreign forces in neighboring Afghanistan, the officials said.
Suspected U.S. unmanned planes have fired at alleged militant targets in Pakistan at least 17 times since mid-August, putting pressure on extremists accused of planning attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan—and perhaps terror strikes in the West.
It is pretty apparent that the U.S. command in Afghanistan has simply decided to continue the attacks inside of Pakistan until the Pakistani government either does something drastic or in the end, blesses the operations. Up until now, Pakistani objections have been pretty limp.

At the same time, as I've said over and over again, the U.S. continues to target al Qaeda operatives in these strikes and I believe that is giving them leverage with the Pakistanis - al Qaeda is thought to be fair game anywhere in the world and that is why the U.S. is simply not just targeting Taliban inside of Pakistan.

This mission today is going to hurt al Qaeda - this was a damn good kill.

Suspected US missile strikes kill 27 in Pakistan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan (AP) - Suspected U.S. missiles slammed into two villages close to the Afghan border on Friday, killing 27 people including an Arab al-Qaida operative and other foreign militants, intelligence officials said.
But the marked uptick in their frequency is straining America's seven-year alliance with Pakistan, where rising violence is exacerbating economic problems gnawing at the nuclear-armed country's stability.
Scores of foreign al-Qaida members are believed to be hiding out in the lawless border area, which is considered a likely hiding place for Osama bin Laden.
The United States rarely confirms or denies firing the missiles and the identities of those killed are only occasionally made public. Locals frequently say civilians, sometimes women and children, are among the dead.
The first attack took place in Mir Ali village in North Waziristan after drones had been flying overhead for several hours, the intelligence officials said, citing reports from agents and informers in the area.
The drones fired twice, hitting a house frequented by Abu Kasha Iraqi and a nearby car, killing 20 people, the officials said, citing reports from agents and informers in the field.
Around two hour later, a second set of missiles hit a village in South Waziristan, killing seven people, including an unspecified number of foreign fighters, the officials said.

Polish Troops Step Up To Plate, Take Over Tough Province In Afghanistan

This is pretty cool. American troops have been able to leave Ghazni province in Afghanistan to go the volatile border area of eastern Pakistan because 1,600 Polish troops have now taken repsonsibility for Ghazni. Here's some of the details from Reuters:

Polish troops took command of security in the Afghan province of Ghazni on Thursday, a volatile area just two hour's drive southwest of Kabul where Taliban militants are gaining influence.
About 1,600 Polish troops have now taken control of Ghazni, freeing up U.S. forces to take on Taliban militants elsewhere in the eastern sector which includes the porous Pakistani border from where insurgents infiltrate into Afghanistan.

Now, we have documented how wishy washy some of the NATO countries have been in their support of the War in Afghanistan, but let's look at how Poland's defense minister depicts this take over by Polish troops:

"Poland is taking over responsibility for security and development as well as future prosperity of Ghazni province. We are ready to do it and we are dedicated to do it well for the benefit of out hosts," Polish Defence Minister Bogdan Klich told troops at the change of command ceremony.

So, here we have little Poland, stepping up to the plate in Ghazni, while we still see Germany basking in relative quiet in the northern part of Afghanistan and in no hurry to volunteer help to the southern part of the country. And why is it that Poland has stepped up? Well, I think it is two fold. First, I think the Polish people are too familiar with the oppression they felt at the hands of the Soviets and they see the same oppressive nature of the Taliban. Secondly, Poland remembers what America has done for that country and they believe in reciprocity.

The Poles are going to have a rough go in Ghazni and they will lose soldiers there but at a time when countries are wimping out in the fight against terror and the Taliban, it's refreshing to see the people of Poland stand tough and committed.

Polish troops take charge of tough Afghan province

GHAZNI, Afghanistan, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Polish troops took command of security in the Afghan province of Ghazni on Thursday, a volatile area just two hour's drive southwest of Kabul where Taliban militants are gaining influence.
About 1,600 Polish troops have now taken control of Ghazni, freeing up U.S. forces to take on Taliban militants elsewhere in the eastern sector which includes the porous Pakistani border from where insurgents infiltrate into Afghanistan.
"Poland is taking over responsibility for security and development as well as future prosperity of Ghazni province. We are ready to do it and we are dedicated to do it well for the benefit of out hosts," Polish Defence Minister Bogdan Klich told troops at the change of command ceremony.
The United States has made repeated appeals for its NATO allies to send more troops to Afghanistan and allow those there to engage in combat missions without restrictions that some European nations place on their soldiers.
Poland and France have made the most significant response, with Polish troops agreeing to take responsibility for Ghazni and Paris sending 700 extra French troops to a valley in the east which is a stronghold of Taliban allies. Both France and Poland place no restrictions on their troops in the east.
HARD TASK
Some 1,200 troops moved into Ghazni four months ago under U.S. command and have repeatedly come under fire since then.
In the last six months of their tour, which began in another eastern province, Polish troops have been in combat 600 times and have been hit by more than 100 improvised explosive devices. Six Polish soldiers have been killed and 20 wounded, their outgoing commander said.
The Polish troops have brought in a number of helicopter gunships as well as their own transport aircraft, but they have a tough task ahead of them.
Ghazni, the former capital of the 11th century Ghaznavid Empire which stretched from the Caspian Sea to India, is a strategic city astride the main road from the capital, Kabul, to the southern city of Kandahar, and also routes towards Pakistan.

India Terror Attacks Reveal Assistance Of Outside Terror Groups

The horrific bombing attacks in northern India this week have revealed a sophistication that has officials suspecting that local terrorists had help from outside terror groups. Here's some of the details from Breitbart:

The level of sophistication in the bombings that killed at least 76 people in northeastern India indicate that local militants had help from other terrorist groups to carry out the attacks, officials said Friday.
The scale and planning behind Thursday's 13 coordinated blasts in Assam state surprised authorities, who struggled to determine who was behind the attacks—among the worst ever in a region plagued by separatism and ethnic violence.

Now, I am no terror expert by any means and initially, most were looking at United Liberation Front of Asom as the party responsible but their spokesman denies involvement...but I agree with the experts now that say this would have been way beyond even a ULFA. Let's be candid, these were 13 COORDINATED ATTACKS! I only know if one group that is renowned for coordinated bombings and that is al Qaeda. Now, I don't know if al Qaeda itself was involved in these attacks in India but I would bet that whoever was, is al Qaeda trained.

Sophisticated attack leaves 77 dead in India

GAUHATI, India (AP) - The level of sophistication in the bombings that killed at least 76 people in northeastern India indicate that local militants had help from other terrorist groups to carry out the attacks, officials said Friday.
The scale and planning behind Thursday's 13 coordinated blasts in Assam state surprised authorities, who struggled to determine who was behind the attacks—among the worst ever in a region plagued by separatism and ethnic violence.
The death toll in the explosions rose to 77 on Friday after more than a dozen people died from their injuries overnight, said Subhas Das, the state's home commissioner. More than 300 people were wounded.
Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Assam state inspector general of police, said the state's largest separatist group, the United Liberation Front of Asom, was the main target of the investigation, but he added that the sophistication of the blasts suggested the rebel group was "assisted by a force who has adequate expertise in such attacks." He did not elaborate.
Anjan Borehaur, a spokesman for the United Liberation Front of Asom, denied his group had any role in the blasts.
"We are not behind these blasts in any way and it is the work of the Indian occupation forces," he said in an Assamese language e-mail sent to reporters.
The separatist group has never carried out an attack of this size and complexity, which closely resembled bombings that have rocked other Indian cities this year. Those attacks were blamed on well-financed and well-armed Islamic militant groups.
Federal investigators and forensic experts sifted through the rubble of the blasts Friday for clues.
Mahanta said that preliminary investigations indicated the militants had used PE-3, a complex plastic explosive.
On Friday, police fired rubber bullets to disperse angry mobs who took to the streets of the state capital, Gauhati, stoning and attacking vehicles and buildings, said C.K. Bhuyan, a local magistrate.
Similar incidents had taken place on Thursday.
A curfew was imposed in parts of the city on Friday, Bhuyan said, adding that no one was injured when police fired rubber bullets.
The bombs were planted in cars and rickshaws, and the largest explosion took place near the office of Assam's top government official, leaving bodies and charred, mangled cars and motorcycles strewn across the road.
Bystanders dragged the wounded and dead to cars that took them to hospitals. Police officers covered charred bodies with white sheets in the street.
India's northeast—an isolated region wedged between Bangladesh, Bhutan, China and Myanmar with only a thin corridor connecting it to the rest of India—is beset by dozens of conflicts. More than 10,000 people have died in separatist violence over the past decade in the region.

Intelligence Report Shows Iran Is Trying To Recover Highly Enriched Uranium

Okay, this report here from Breitbart spells out some pretty confusing details of an intelligence report put together by the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency that shows that Iran is up to no good with its nuclear program ...like we didn't know that by now. But what's interesting is how the U.N. still CONTINUES to appease the Iranians on these violations. Here's some of the details:

Iran has recently tested ways of recovering highly enriched uranium from waste reactor fuel in a covert bid to expand its nuclear program, according to an intelligence assessment made available to The Associated Press.
The alleged tests loosely replicate Saddam Hussein's attempts to build the bomb nearly two decades ago. But experts question the conclusion by those providing the intelligence that Tehran, too, is trying to reprocess the fuel to make a nuclear weapon.
They note that the spent fuel at issue as the source of the enriched uranium is not enough to yield the approximately 30 kilograms (65 pounds)of weapons-grade material needed for one simple warhead.
Still, they say that the alleged experiment appears plausible—if not as a fast track to weapons capability then as an incremental step that could move it further along that path.

Now, let's look at how the IAEA is trying to soft peddle all of this and do ANYTHING to avoid a confrontation with Iran:

"On the surface it may have nothing to do with making a bomb, but in the end that's what it could be about."
IAEA spokespeople were unavailable Thursday but an official of the Vienna-based U.N. nuclear watchdog said the agency would have no comment. He asked not to be named because he was not authorized to be quoted by name.
It has gotten to be almost comical. This U.N. body, the IAEA, is absolutely worthless as tits on a boar and the Iranians clearly know that. They fear that investigative evidence about as much as they do an attack from Bali. I'm sure there is no Western country or leader at this point who holds out any hope that Iran will halt their nuke operations - well, perhaps none except for one Barack Hussein Obama. All this news shows is the ineptness of the U.N. - it just reinforces all of the suspicions of the West, once more.

Intel says Iran plans secret nuclear experiments

VIENNA, Austria (AP) - Iran has recently tested ways of recovering highly enriched uranium from waste reactor fuel in a covert bid to expand its nuclear program, according to an intelligence assessment made available to The Associated Press.
The intelligence, provided by a member of the 145-nation International Atomic Energy Agency, also says a report will soon be submitted to the Iranian leadership for a decision on whether to go ahead with the project.
With Iran's nuclear program already under international scrutiny, any new efforts by Tehran to increase its nuclear expertise and its store of enriched uranium would set off alarm bells. The concerns would be particularly serious if that stock was highly enriched. The higher the enrichment the less time and effort it takes to reach the 90-percent level used in the fissile core of nuclear warheads.
The 3-page intelligence report, drawn from Iranian sources within the country, says the source material would be highly enriched—some at above 90 percent, the rest at 20 percent.
In contrast, Iran's enrichment program under constant IAEA monitoring has churned out material that is less than 5 percent enriched, in line with the fuel needs of modern reactors.
"Procedures were evaluated for recycling fuel by dissolving fuel rods" for irradiated waste and then reprocessing the material into uranium metal, says the intelligence assessment. Uranium metal is used for nuclear warheads.
"Sufficient data was collected for planning production lines for recovering the fuel," says the assessment, which gave Tehran's Jaber ibn Hayan Laboratories, run by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, as the location for the experiment.
Top officials of AEOI are "in the final stages" of writing a report for the Iranian leadership for assessment on whether to go forward with reprocessing, according to the intelligence.
The laboratories and the Tehran Nuclear Research Center, where the research reactor is located, have figured in numerous experiments that have raised the suspicion level about Iran, including plutonium separation attempts that Iran owned up to only after it was pressed by IAEA experts probing its nuclear past.
If the information is accurate then Iran is "trying to get their nose in the tent" of reprocessing material potentially suitable for a warhead, said David Albright, whose Washington-based Institute for Science and International Security tracks suspect secret proliferators.

Rocket Fired Into Israel From Gaza

So, is this the start of it all over again? I don't know but the Israelis didn't waste any time in shutting down cargo shipments into Gaza after the attack. What's perplexing here is this claim that the rocket was fired by something called "Hezbollah Palestine" - I'm not sure if that is Hamas or Islamic Jihad thinking they can get a softer response from Israel by making up some fictitious group or if indeed, this is a new cell of terrorists in Gaza. We do know that al Qaeda in Gaza is making inroads into Hamas' power so perhaps there are more groups springing up.

Details of the rocket attack are here at the BBC:

Palestinian militants have fired a rocket at Israel from the Gaza Strip, in violation of a four-month-old truce.
After the attack, Israeli troops closed cargo crossings into Gaza, which they control, until further notice.
It is the second such strike within 10 days, both of which were claimed by a previously unheard-of group calling itself Hezbollah Palestine.
Rocket barrages from Gaza largely ended after Israel and militant groups agreed a truce in June.
The rocket fired on Thursday morning slammed into an empty field in southern Israel, without causing any damage or casualties.

I'm glad to see that Israel responded quickly and that they are sticking to their policy of punishing Gaza for ANY attack, no matter who claims responsibility. What will be interesting to see here in Gaza is if this type of rocket attack is continued over the next few days.

I, personally, think Hamas has stuck to the truce that has been going on because they didn't want to reinstate attacks while Israel was going through the election process in fear that Israeli hawks would gain power using the onslaught as a leveraging point. The truce will certainly end in full blown attacks, it's just a matter of when.

Israel and Egypt have blockaded the overcrowded and impoverished Gaza Strip since the Hamas militant group seized control of the territory in June 2007.
After the 19 June ceasefire took effect, Israel allowed more goods to enter Gaza, but there remain severe shortages and exports are banned.
On Wednesday, Israeli troops killed an elderly Palestinian farmer during a raid in the northern West Bank, after the army said the man opened fire at them with a shotgun.
Relatives of Muhammad Abahreh from Yamoun village said he had been carrying the gun to ward off sheep rustlers.
"He was locking the gate and he heard something around us. He thought that it was thieves, so he went out with his shotgun and was shot immediately," his son Taher told Voice of Palestine radio.

Taliban Storm Govt Center In Kabul, 5 Killed

This is a really bad sign, folks. Three Taliban stormed a government building in the center of the Afghanistan capital, Kabul, today firing small arms as they entered the building while one set off his suicide belt and killed five people. The fact that this is happening in the very heart of Kabul is the really disturbing part. There have been many concerning reports recently out of Afghanistan about how close the Taliban have encroached upon Kabul and to see them be able to pull off this type of attack in Kabul is really bad news.

Here's some of the details from Breitbart:

Taliban militants stormed a government building in the center of the Afghan capital on Thursday and one of them blew himself up inside, killing five people, officials and witnesses said.
The assailants first opened fire on police guards outside the Ministry of Information and Culture before entering its cavernous hall where the explosion occurred, said Amir Mohammad, a police guard who was wounded in the blast.
"There were three people. They were running. They opened fire on our guard first and then they entered (the building)," Mohammad told The Associated Press from his hospital bed in Kabul.
Five people were killed in the attack, according to a statement from President Hamid Karzai's office. Another 21 were wounded in the explosion, said Abdul Fahim, the spokesman for the Health Ministry, which supervises the hospitals where the injured were taken.
The ministry is in the center of the city, at a busy intersection lined with shops.
I have blogged here about the need for more and more NATO troops in Afghanistan and this is a perfect example of that need. The bulk of the burden has been shouldered by U.S., Canadian and British troops but most of those forces are in southern and eastern Afghanistan. Kabul, the capital, has been ignored throughout this war for the last year or so and as we saw in Iraq, when you clear an area, you cannot leave it.

At some point in time, NATO and Afghan forces are going to need to move out from the center of Kabul in a circle and start forcing the Taliban back away from the city - if they do not, Afghanistan will face the same peril of Iraq in that Kabul could become a Baghdad.

Taliban militants storm Afghan ministry, kill 5

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - Taliban militants stormed a government building in the center of the Afghan capital on Thursday and one of them blew himself up inside, killing five people, officials and witnesses said.
The assailants first opened fire on police guards outside the Ministry of Information and Culture before entering its cavernous hall where the explosion occurred, said Amir Mohammad, a police guard who was wounded in the blast.

The ministry is in the center of the city, at a busy intersection lined with shops.
One of the walls of the building collapsed, while glass littered the roads nearby and office equipment was scattered over the area.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and gave a similar account of what happened.
Zabiullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, said three militants stormed the building by throwing hand grenades at the guards at the main gate.
A man named Naqibullah from the eastern Khost province carried out the suicide attack, Mujahid told the AP. The other two men fled, he said.
Abdul Rahim, a witness, said he first heard machine gun shots and saw a policeman lying on the ground and then saw the explosion that rocked the building.
Ministry workers were helped out of the building by security personnel. Ambulances carried the wounded to hospitals.
While insurgents regularly use suicide attacks against Afghan and foreign forces around the country, they have been rare in Kabul.
On July 7, a suicide attacker set off explosives outside the gates of the Indian Embassy in Kabul, killing more than 60 people, and wounding 146.

Afghan Women Protest Talks With Taliban

Let's face it, if there is one group that stands to lose more than any other one if the Taliban make gains in Afghanistan, it is the women of Afghanistan. Under the Taliban regime prior to the U.S. and coalition forces driving the Taliban out, the women of Afghanistan suffered horribly - both in having zero human rights and in physical abuse and torture.

It's no wonder that now, with the Afghan government making some overtures to talk with the Taliban, Afghan women are protesting any degradation of the rights and humanity they have gained when the country was freed. Here's some of the details out of the BBC:

The women fear that the talks could lead to a reversal of the gains they have made since the overthrow of the Taleban in 2001.
They called on President Karzai to make sure their rights are guaranteed.

The Minister for Women's Affairs, Hasan Bano Ghazanfar, said that women were against "any political compromises" that did not take into consideration their constitutional values and human rights.

So, what is President Karzai telling the women of Afghanistan? Take a look:

President Karzai said nothing would be agreed with the Taleban which threatened the rights of women.
"All our efforts are for peace. Those Taleban who aren't against this country are welcome to take part. My sisters, you should not be worried: they are not against you. Those who want to usurp your rights are the enemies of this land and we should defeat them."

I don't think too many Afghan women are going to feel very reassured by that. Partly, because there isn't a Taliban alive that doesn't want to usurp the women's rights. And they all know it, even Karzai.

Afghan women decry Taleban talks

Representatives of women from across Afghanistan have called on President Hamid Karzai not to undermine their position by talking to the Taleban.
The president's brother recently sat with former Taleban leaders at a religious meal hosted by the Saudis.
The meeting was regarded as a possible prelude to talks between the Afghan government and the Islamist movement.
Mr Karzai told a conference of about 400 women that any talks with the Taleban would respect the constitution.

But President Karzai rejected calls from some delegates for public hangings for those convicted of rape and abductions of women.
On Tuesday political and tribal leaders from Afghanistan and Pakistan agreed to establish high-level contact with the Taleban in an attempt to end the insurgencies in both countries.
A meeting between Afghan officials and former Taleban members took place in Saudi Arabia last month.
The women's conference is the biggest of its kind in Afghanistan since 2001. Under the Taleban women were banned from working and girls could not attend school.
The situation of Afghan women has undoubtedly improved since then. Around one and a half million girls have returned to school, while women sit in parliament and the government.
But there are still major problems. The delegates have also called for more to be done to improve women's security, health, education and employment and to combat domestic violence.

U.S. Embassy In Damascus May Close

While the U.S. embassy in Damascus, Syria has announced that it may close due to the after effects of the U.S. special forces raid in Syria a few days ago, it's not uncommon for the likes of a Syria to get all bent out of shape for a few days of protest and then it all calms down.

Here's the excerpted article of this announcement from YNET:

US embassy in Damascus may close, mission says

The US embassy in the Syrian capital may close following a raid on eastern Syria this week blamed by Damascus on Washington, an embassy statement said on Wednesday.

"The American community in Syria should be aware that unforeseen events or circumstances may occur that could cause the US Embassy in Damascus to close to the public for an unspecified period of time," the statement said.

You know, this uproar by Syria is pretty typical of any muslim/Arab country under these circumstances. The whole bloody world knows that the American strike force went in and struck an al Qaeda cell and were successful. But the Syrians have to go through this big hullabaloo and try and spin it that the U.S. military has nothing better to do than fly into Syria and kill a family of innocent people. This is the insanity of the muslims.

Now, I'm sure if the Syrians want to follow through on some of the veiled threats they have made since the operation, the U.S. could oblige with a sample of what a REAL attack on Syria would amount to.

Somalia Falls Further Into Chaos - 19 Dead In String Of Suicide Bombings

Somalia is basically on the brink of simply imploding. Today, three separate suicide bombing attacks across the northern part of Somalia have killed at least 19 people and among the bombing targets, one was a United Nations compound.

Here's the details from the updated article at Breitbart:

A spokesman for a breakaway republic in northern Somalia says at least 19 people have died in three suicide attacks.

Suicide bombers struck targets across northern Somalia on Wednesday, including a U.N. compound, officials said. There were deaths and dozens of injuries, but an exact casualty figures were not immediately available.

Also Wednesday, suicide bombers attacked two intelligence facilities in the northern Somali region of Puntland. The two suicide bombers and a security official died in the attack, and five other security officials were wounded, said Muse Gelle Yusuf, governor of Somalia's northern port city of Bossaso. The region is a hotbed of abductions and piracy.
At some point in time, I predict that Ethiopia is going to move into Somalia full force as it is only a matter of time before this islamist genocide and chaos is going to start spilling across the borders and quite frankly, if you are Ethiopia, do you really want to go on each day with this kind of powderkeg next door?

19 dead in northern Somalia suicide bombings

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) - A spokesman for a breakaway republic in northern Somalia says at least 19 people have died in three suicide attacks.
Ismail Adani says officials are still counting the bodies after Wednesday's attacks, so the death toll could rise.
A wave of suicide attacks hit targets in Somaliland's capital, Hargeisa, including a U.N. compound, the Ethiopian consulate and the presidential palace.
Also Wednesday, suicide bombers attacked two intelligence facilities in the northern Somali region of Puntland.
Muse Gelle Yusuf, governor of Somalia's northern port city of Bossaso, says a security official and he two suicide bombers and died in those attacks.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.
MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP)—Suicide bombers struck targets across northern Somalia on Wednesday, including a U.N. compound, officials said. There were deaths and dozens of injuries, but an exact casualty figures were not immediately available.
"We are still counting the bodies," said Ismail Adani, a spokesman for the government of the breakaway republic of Somaliland, where bombers hit the U.N. compound, the Ethiopian consulate and the presidential palace.
The secretary of Somaliland President Dahir Riyale Kahin died in the blast, but the president was not hurt, Adani said.
The U.N. confirmed that its compound was hit.
"There are known casualties as well as deaths, but the numbers are currently being verified," said Dawn Elizabeth Blalock, a spokeswoman for the U.N.'s Somalia program in Nairobi, Kenya.
It wasn't immediately known how many suicide bombers had attacked the three locations in Somaliland or whether they had traveled in vehicles.
Somalia has been without a functioning government since 1991, when clan warlords ousted longtime dictator Mohamed Siad Barre and then turned on each other. The current government was formed in 2004 with the help of the United Nations, but has failed to protect citizens from violence or the country's poverty.
Somalia's north has tried to sever ties with the chaotic south, which includes the beleaguered capital, Mogadishu.
Puntland has a semiautonomous administration, and Somaliland has long sought international recognition as being its own nation, separate from Somalia.

Palestinian Cleric Spews Hatred For Jews ...Straight From The Qur'an

This is a brief story out of MEMRI but it shows the extreme hatred that the islamists have for the Jews and why. This further demonstrates the fact that Jews will ALWAYS be the mortal enemy of muslims...whether those muslims happen to be members of a radical islamic jihad group or a muslim behind the counter at your local convenience store. They are taught to hate and despise Jews. It's in the book. It's in the Qur'an. It is commanded from allah.

These are the words of a Palestinian "YeahGiveThemAState" Islamic cleric by the name of Muhsen Abu 'Ita:

Hamas Cleric Muhsen Abu 'Ita: "The Annihilation of the Jews in Palestine is The Most Splendid Blessing for Palestine"

Muhsen Abu 'Ita: "Naturally, the Koran chapters conveyed to Muhammad in Mecca only rarely deal with the Jews - like in 'those who incur Allah's wrath,' which appears in the Al-Fatiha chapter.
"Hence, it is strange to find an entire chapter bearing the name of the Jews, or Bani Israil. It is even more peculiar that this chapter does not talk about the Jews of the Qaynuqa, Nazir, or Qurayza tribes.
"It talks about the Jews of our times, of this century, using the language of annihilation, the language of grave digging. Note that in this chapter, the Jews were sentenced to annihilation, before even a single Jew existed on the face of the earth. This Koranic chapter talked about the collapse of the so-called state of Israel, before this state was even established. From here stems the importance and oddity of this chapter.
[...]
"The blessing of Palestine is dependent upon the annihilation of the pit of global corruption in it. When the head of the serpent of corruption is cut off here in Palestine, and its octopus tentacles are severed throughout the world, the real blessing will come.
"The annihilation of the Jews here in Palestine is one of the most splendid blessings for Palestine. This will be followed by a greater blessing, Allah be praised, with the establishment of a Caliphate that will rule the land and will be pleasing to men and God."

Pakistani Sources Claim Osama bin Laden Is Writing Book

Oh boy...the top dog (and I use that word in the mangiest way) of al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, is writing a book according to sources in Pakistan. I guess when you're holed up in a cave, feeling like shit for over seven years, you have to find something to do. Anyway, here's the details from the article at Adnkronos:

Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden is writing a new book, 'Nidal', as a response to "negative propaganda and insufficient information" about the terrorism network, citing unnamed Pakistani sources. The book, whose title means 'Struggle', comes as Al-Qaeda's success in Iraq is dwindling and just days before the United States presidential election in early November. According to various media reports, Bin Laden (photo) is reported to be writing the book in Arabic with the help of a young man with a Middle Eastern background who will translate the text into English."'Nidal' looks at the atrocities committed against Muslims by the West and how the Crusaders have harmed world development with their objective of boosting the West's global influence that ultimately helped the United States to seize the Muslim world's oil reserves," said pan-Arab daily, Al-Quds al-Arabi.
Well, I can certainly think of a fitting last chapter to bin Laden's book - his capture and then his trial in a public square in Times Square, NY. And of course, the fitting execution of this slime.

The underlying part of this announcement is the fact that poor old Osama thinks that his precious al Qaeda has dropped out of the limelight and that they might be misunderstood. The old man just can't get it through his head that his grand design, his top prize...the capture of Iraq was foiled by his arch enemy, America. His ass was beaten to a pulp and his dream crushed.

No book this asshat could ever write is going to get his dream back or make him important. He is simply a failure.

Middle East: Bin Laden writing book, sources say

Dubai, 27 Oct. (AKI) - Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden is writing a new book, 'Nidal', as a response to "negative propaganda and insufficient information" about the terrorism network, citing unnamed Pakistani sources. The book, whose title means 'Struggle', comes as Al-Qaeda's success in Iraq is dwindling and just days before the United States presidential election in early November. According to various media reports, Bin Laden (photo) is reported to be writing the book in Arabic with the help of a young man with a Middle Eastern background who will translate the text into English."'Nidal' looks at the atrocities committed against Muslims by the West and how the Crusaders have harmed world development with their objective of boosting the West's global influence that ultimately helped the United States to seize the Muslim world's oil reserves," said pan-Arab daily, Al-Quds al-Arabi.The book also holds the US responsible for the present global financial crisis and claims to shed light on Al-Qaeda's evolution and the 11 September 2001 attacks on US cities.Websites close to Al-Qaeda have not yet confirmed the imminent publication of 'Nidal' but many of Bin Laden's followers are expecting a new message from him to mark the US presidential polls on 4 November like he did in 2004. Jihadist websites, notably al-Hesbah - one of the most widely used jihadist sites - are backing the Republican Party's candidate John McCain in the hope that a win by McCain in next month's ballot will boost Al-Qaeda's war with the US.

Syrian Strike By U.S. Task Force 88 Is A Huge Success

Not only did the U.S. Special Forces kill their intended target in the Syrian raid, al Qaeda leader Abu Ghadiya, but they got the bulk of the other al Qaeda leadership in Syria in the same sweep.
Here's some of the details from The Long War Journal:

Al Qaeda leader Abu Ghadiya was killed in yesterday's strike inside Syria, a senior US military intelligence official told The Long War Journal. But US special operations forces also inflicted a major blow to al Qaeda's foreign fighter network based in Syria. The entire senior leadership of Ghadiya's network was also killed in the raid, the official stated.
Ghadiya was the leader of al Qaeda extensive network that funnels foreign fighters, weapons, and cash from Syria into Iraq along the entire length of the Syrian border. Ghadiya was first identified as the target of the raid inside Syria late last night here at The Long War Journal. The Associated Press reported Ghadiya was killed in the raid earlier today.

Several US helicopters entered the town of town of Sukkariya near Abu Kamal in eastern Syria, just five miles from the Iraqi border. US commandos from the hunter-killer teams of Task Force 88 clear the buildings sheltering Ghadiya and his staff.

Those killed include Ghadiya's brother and two cousins. "They also were part of the senior leadership," the official stated. "They're dead. We've decapitated the network." Others killed during the raid were not identified.
The Syrian propaganda machine has been alleging that a Syrian family was killed in this raid and as you can see, the only "family" is the al Qaeda family of death. Haha. Good riddance.

I mentioned yesterday that all of the intelligence about Ghadiya and his operation had been retrieved when one of their key operatives had been killed in Iraq and you can see by this just how patient and persistent U.S. intelligence can be - they waited and waited, all the time gathering more and more intel until this apparently was the day when all of the scum were together in one place.

When the details are fully disclosed on this operation, the world is going to find out just what a death machine the U.S. has in Task Force 88 - and what precision and execution they conducted this raid.

US strike in Syria "decapitated" al Qaeda's facilitation network

Ghadiya, whose real name is Badran Turki Hishan Al Mazidih, was an Iraqi from Mosul. He was working as an al Qaeda logistics coordinator in Syria since 2004, when he was appointed to the position by Abu Musab al Zarqawi. After Zarqawi's death, he "took orders directly, or through a deputy" from Abu Ayyub al Masri, al Qaeda's current leader in Iraq,
Ghazy Was Ghadiya's "right-hand man," the Treasury stated. "As second-in command, Ghazy worked directly with [Ghadiya], managed network operations, and acted as the commander for [Ghadiya's] AQI [al Qaeda in Iraq] network when [Ghadiya] traveled."
Akram directed al Qaeda operations along with Ghadiya in the Al Qaim region right on the border with Syria. He smuggled weapons from Syria into Iraq, and ordered "the execution of AQI's enemies," Treasury stated. "Akram also ordered the execution of all persons found to be working with the Iraqi Government or US Forces."
Marsumi was an al Qaeda financier who "facilitated the financing and smuggling of AQI foreign fighters from Syria into Iraq." He helped Syrian suicide bombers enter Iraq, and also wired hundreds of thousands of dollars to Ghadiya to facilitate operations.
All four men lived openly inside Syria. The US Treasury identified Ghadiya, Ghazy, and Akram as living in Zabadani. Marsumi lived in the village of Al Shajlah.
A senior US general and the Iraqi spokesmen both noted that al Qaeda leaders were openly living inside Syria, and the Syrian government did nothing to shut down the network.
"The attacked area was the scene of activities of terrorist groups operating from Syria against Iraq," Ali al Dabbagh, Iraq's spokesman told Reuters. "Iraq had asked Syria to hand over this group which uses Syria as a base for its terrorist activities."
Major General John Kelly, the commander of Multinational Force - West, described Syria as "problematic" during a briefing on Oct. 23. "The Iraqi security forces and the Iraqi intelligence forces feel that al Qaeda operatives and others operate, live pretty openly on the Syrian side," Kelly said. "

Is Iran Getting Nervous About Its Nuke Program?

Hmmm....here's a story out of Reuters that is showcasing Iranian complaints that the six major countries in the U.N. that have been involved in Iran's nuclear sanctions haven't responded to the Iranian proposals and quite frankly, I see this whining by Iran as a good sign that they are starting to feel the heat. In other words, they haven't heard a word back on their assinine proposal and thus, they are getting a bit nervous. No new isn't always good news.

Here's some of the details of the article:

Iran's U.N. ambassador said on Monday that six world powers have never responded to Tehran's proposal for negotiations without pre-conditions aimed at resolving its nuclear stand-off with the West.
Instead, Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Khazaee told a meeting of the U.N. General Assembly, a small group of countries continued to insist that Iran halt its uranium enrichment program, a demand that he said violated international law.
"The 5+1 Group has yet to provide its response to Iran's proposed package," he said, referring to a proposal for talks delivered in May to the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council and Germany.
"The policy of few powers in insisting on suspension as a precondition for negotiations bears zero relation to realities and is an irrational and failed policy," Khazaee said.
He said that instead of imposing economic penalties on Tehran, which has been hit with three rounds of U.N. sanctions, "a solution that is based on realities ... should be pursued."
The reason that the 6 countries of Russia, China, France, Great Britain, Germany and the United States haven't responded is because the Iranian's proposal says that they will NOT stop enriching uranium during the negotiations. Simple as that. It is a critical piece to the U.N. proposal and one that the Iranians will not bend on.

So, there we have it. Iran chooses to continue the enrichment process, they get no response to their proposal and hopefully, Israel is set to take the damn nuke facility out with the blessings of at least the U.S. , Britain and France. Don't think for one minute that the Iranians don't think something is up. They feel it and this is a sign that their palms are getting sweaty.

Iran says snubbed by six powers on nuclear offer

In the counterproposal, Iran called for cooperation to combat "common security threats" such as terrorism, "militarism" and drugs, and for developing international uranium enrichment consortiums in various countries, including Iran, to foster nuclear energy for development.
Tehran has suggested such a consortium on its soil before, ostensibly to defuse fears it might covertly divert enrichment technology to bomb-making. But Western powers have rejected the idea, mistrusting Iran over its record of nuclear secrecy.
Khazaee dismissed suggestions that Iran's atomic ambitions were anything but peaceful and made clear that Tehran had no intention of compromising on the issue of uranium enrichment.
"The demand for the suspension of enrichment is illegal ... and in contravention of the provisions of the NPT (nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty)," he said. "The Iranian nation will never accept illegal demands."
Mohamed ElBaradei, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, told the assembly his inspectors were not in a position to verify that Iran is not engaged in any secret nuclear activities.
In comments that echoed ones he made last month to the IAEA board of governors, ElBaradei said Iran should help the agency clarify intelligence reports alleging it had previously engaged in research on how to manufacture an atomic weapon.
Khazaee dismissed the intelligence reports, which the IAEA received from the United States and several other countries.
"What has been characterized as alleged studies (of nuclear weapons) are nothing but fabricated documents given to the agency by a certain country," he said, adding that Tehran has never received copies of the intelligence reports.

Indonesian Authorties Investigate Muslim Cleric's Marriage To 12 Year Old Girl

Oh boy. This is a guy who LITERALLY follows the words and deeds of mohammed! Indonesia has a law that you can't marry someone under 16 years old so government officials are investigating a supposed marriage between a muslim cleric and a 12 year old girl. The parents supposedly gave consent to her being married.

Here's the brief details from the report at Reuters:

An Indonesian child protection agency is investigating reports of a marriage between a Muslim cleric and a 12-year-old girl, the Jakarta Post newspaper reported on Sunday.
The newspaper said the 43-year-old cleric from Central Java allegedly married the minor girl with her parents' consent in August and planned to marry two more girls, aged seven and nine.

And he plans to take two more wives ages seven and nine???!!! Good grief. You know, the Religion of Peace just keeps the hits coming. It's not enough that islam has purported terrorist attacks across the world now for years and years, that it has seen to it that women are suppressed and tortured, but now, it continues to prey upon the children of the world.

The abuses of women under islam has been well-documented but it wasn't until the last couple of years that we have seen the extent that the minions of Satan have been shown to use children as suicide bombers, mine field guinea pigs and human shields.

I'm not sure what penalty Indonesia has for violating this law about marrying a minor but I certainly have a suggestion.

Indonesia probes reports of Muslim cleric marrying minor

JAKARTA (Reuters) - An Indonesian child protection agency is investigating reports of a marriage between a Muslim cleric and a 12-year-old girl, the Jakarta Post newspaper reported on Sunday.
The newspaper said the 43-year-old cleric from Central Java allegedly married the minor girl with her parents' consent in August and planned to marry two more girls, aged seven and nine.
The government-backed Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) plans to question the cleric, the girl, her parents, the minister who married them and witnesses of the marriage.
Under the Indonesian law, a woman must be at least 16 years old to marry. Marriage with a minor carries a maximum of five year jail term.
The cleric is a rich businessman who owns a Muslim boarding school in Central Java. He made headlines in local newspapers after donating billions of rupiah to the poor during the fasting month of Ramadan.
His first wife is 26.

The REAL Reason U.S. Chanced Special Operation Inside Of Syria

Thankfully, after muddling through the ridiculous reports yesterday being reported by Yahoo News and Breitbart, we finally have the real reason, the real target of the operation by U.S. special forces inside of Syria - the target was the senior al Qaeda in Iraq leader, Abu Ghadiya, who has been in charge of operations to funnel jihadists into Iraq. Unfortunately, U.S. military officials are being tight-lipped about whether Ghadiya was captured or killed. Here's the report from The Long War Journal:

The US military incursion into Syria was aimed at the senior leader of al Qaeda's extensive network that funnels foreign fighters, weapons, and cash from Syria into Iraq, a senior intelligence official told The Long War Journal.
US special operations hunter-killer teams entered Syria in an attempt to capture Abu Ghadiya, a senior al Qaeda leader who has been in charge of the Syrian network since 2005. US intelligence analysts identified Ghadiya as the leader of the Syrian network, The Washington Post reported in July. Ghadiya was identified as a “major target” by the US military in February 2008.
I encourage you to read the entire article from Bill Roggio as he really details what has been going on in al Qaeda in Iraq's efforts in Syria. One thing that I found interesting, was just how the U.S. found out about the al Qaeda network inside of Syria. From the article:

The US military learned a great deal about al Qaeda's network inside Syria after a key operative was killed in September of 2007. US forces killed Muthanna, the regional commander of al Qaeda's network in the Sinjar region.
During the operation, US forces found numerous documents and electronic files that detailed "the larger al-Qaeda effort to organize, coordinate, and transport foreign terrorists into Iraq and other places," Major General Kevin Bergner, the former spokesman for Multinational Forces Iraq, said in October 2007.
Bergner said several of the documents found with Muthanna included a list of 500 al Qaeda fighters from "a range of foreign countries that included Libya, Morocco, Syria, Algeria, Oman, Yemen, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, France and the United Kingdom."

Now, we will have to see if we actually got our target in this raid and we will probably see more protests by the Syrians but who gives a shit. I don't think anyone on the U.S. side is too worried about hot air coming out of Damascus.

Syrian strike aimed at al Qaeda's coordinator in Syria

The US military incursion into Syria was aimed at the senior leader of al Qaeda's extensive network that funnels foreign fighters, weapons, and cash from Syria into Iraq, a senior intelligence official told The Long War Journal.

The raid to capture Ghadiya occurred in the town of Sukkariya near Abu Kamal in eastern Syria, just five miles from the Iraqi border. Four US helicopters crossed the border and two of the helicopters landed to drop off special operations forces, who then proceeded to clear structures.
Nine people were reported killed and 14 were wounded. Syrian officials claimed innocent construction workers and women and children were killed in the raid.
US officials contacted by The Long War Journal would not comment if Ghadiya was killed or captured during the raid.
The US military has officially refused to confirm or deny the raid took place. But several senior intelligence officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the subject told The Long War Journal that the raid was indeed carried out inside Syria.
The raid is the first of its kind against Syria. The US has been striking regularly at Taliban and al Qaeda targets inside Pakistan’s tribal areas since the beginning of September.
Ghadiya, whose real name is Badran Turki Hishan al Mazidih, is an Iraqi from the northern city of Mosul. Ghadiya succeeded Suleiman Khalid Darwish, a Syrian national and lieutenant of Abu Musab al Zarqawi, the former leader of al Qaeda in Iraq who was killed by US forces in June 2006. US forces killed Darwish in a raid in Al Qaim in June 2005.

Heartache: Secretary of State Rice Sends Message of Praise To Hamas

WTF??!!!! Okay, as most of my readers know, I have a fairly high trust in DEBKA even though they have been a little "loose" with their information in the past but this news, that Sec. of State Condi Rice has sent a friendly message to Hamas leader Khalid Meshaal, well...I just hope this is an out and out misrepresentation. If this is true, I want calls from Republican Congressmen and Senators to President Bush to have her removed, IMMEDIATELY.

Here's the mention of this at the article at DEBKA:

As part of the incipient thaw in US relations with Damascus, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has relayed a friendly message to Hamas political leader Khalid Meshaal through Syrian foreign minister Walid Muallem’s aides.
The message, described by Moussa Abu Marzouk, one of the heads of Hamas’ Damascus headquarters, as a “verbal communication.” was received as four Syrian divisions completed their deployment on Lebanon’s borders last week (see exclusive map). In the message, Rice praised the Palestinian terrorist group for halting its missile fire into Israel.
So our Secretary of State is now "praising" terrorist organizations for not killing innocent people for a few weeks? What kind of a damn message does that send?

There is no reason, whatsoever, for ANY official of the U.S. Government to EVER, EVER send ANY message to Hamas other than a couple hundred of JDAM's onto their heads.

Like I say..if this is true, Rice needs to be removed immediately and I got some serious questions for President Bush as to how this communication is supporting Israel. Does anyone in the State Department think for one fucking minute that Hamas appreciates a nice message from America? What are these State Department people smoking?

If this message was sent, I'd say that we see Hamas rocket attacks on Israel resume in a few days as they send a message that they don't want to be doing anything that pleases the great satan of the west. Unbelievable.

Syrian Troops Enclose Lebanon, Rice Contacts Hamas

DEBKA-Net-Weekly 369 of Oct. 24 exposed the complete deployment - from the Syrian 4th Division along Lebanon’s northern border and the 10th, 12th and 14th Divisions on Lebanon’s eastern frontier opposite the Hermil mountains and the Beqaa Valley, and down to the Hermon Mountains facing South Lebanon and northern Israel.
Neither the Americans nor the Israelis had expected Damascus to round off this troop concentration so fast. It was taken for granted that Damascus would wait to the spring of 2009, after the rainy season. However, president Bashar Assad saw two advantages in going ahead before the Nov. 4 US presidential election:
First, Israel would be unlikely to strike in the days leading up to the US election and, second, Damascus would present the new man in the White House with a fait accompli.
The first concentration of 6-8,000 Syrian troops was disclosed in DEBKA-Net-Weekly 367 on Oct. 3 when two Syrian commando brigades of the 4th Mechanized Division took up positions along 2 km of the El Kebir River which marks that sector of the border - opposite northern Lebanon and its largest town of Tripoli.
Then, last week, Damascus consigned the 12th Mechanized Division to the border of the Lebanese Beqaa Valley and its central mountains, so completing the encirclement.
Syrian military positions now range from points opposite the northern Lebanese town of Al Qaa on Mt. Hermil to points further south up to the Massena border crossing 50 km north of Beirut. The Syrian 4th and 12th Divisions abut on the 10th Division ranged opposite South Lebanon and the disputed Shebaa Farms enclave. The military chain continues with the 14th commando division positioned on the Syrian slopes of Mt Hermon opposite Israeli military positions.

Pakistan's Tribal Awakenings Face The Stark Reality, Taliban Attack Meeting Capturing 60

I have been excited about the formation of the lashkars in NW Pakistan as it has reminded me of the formation of the Awakenings in Iraq by the tribes but leave it to Bill Roggio and his article here at The Long War Journal to bring me back to reality:

The Taliban continue to target the tribes that are attempting to organize in the Northwest Frontier Province and the lawless tribal areas. Taliban forces in Swat attacked a tribe that has organized against the extremists in the Matta region.
At least seven tribal members and three Taliban fighters, including local commanders, were killed in the clash. The Taliban took more than sixty members of the tribe hostage.

Now, look at Bill Roggio's analysis here as to why the success of these Pakistani tribal lashkars is probably not going to happen:

The clashes between the local tribes and the Taliban in Swat highlight Pakistan's problems with its tribal strategy. The tribes that have backed the government are marginal players, and there is no overall organization or support from the major tribal leaders or the Pakistani government, a senior US military intelligence official told The Long War Journal.
Saimullah's tribe highlights this point: it is part of the Gujjar community and not a member of the dominant Pashtun tribal confederations that support the Taliban. This serves to isolate them from support once the military withdraws from the region.
The Pakistani tribes are operating as distinct, local fighting forces, while the Taliban can coordinate their activities across the northwest and inside eastern Afghanistan.
"The tribes are limited by geography, the TTP [the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan or the Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan] is not," a senior official told The Long War Journal on Sept. 29. "Moreover, the Taliban out-number and out-gun them by more than 20 to 1.

Now, with all of that being said, I'm not giving up in my hopes for an uprising in NW Pakistan. What Roggio's analysis tells me is that the difference here in Pakistan from Iraq is simply that there are very strong and large tribes in NW Pakistan that have not and probably will not join this movement, and that causes a problem. But in my view, what we have on our side is time. We have to realize that given enough time, the Taliban will outwear their welcome with ALL tribes in this area.

The problem is that attacks like this could very well break the back of this movement and these lashkar leaders may end up caving. And if they do, it is going to be one huge mess for the Pakistani government if they send any additional troops into this region.

Taliban attack tribal meeting in Swat

The Taliban continue to target the tribes that are attempting to organize in the Northwest Frontier Province and the lawless tribal areas. Taliban forces in Swat attacked a tribe that has organized against the extremists in the Matta region.
At least seven tribal members and three Taliban fighters, including local commanders, were killed in the clash. The Taliban took more than sixty members of the tribe hostage.
The anti-Taliban tribe is led by Pir Samiullah. He claimed to have organized a lashkar, or tribal militia, of more than 10,000 tribesmen in October to oppose the Taliban and protect the 20 villages in the Matta region.
The Taliban have threatened to kill all captured government officials in Swat. It is unclear if this includes anti-Taliban tribal leaders.
The Pakistani government has been courting the tribes to support the efforts to take on the Taliban in the tribal areas and in the settled districts of the Northwest Frontier Province. Tribal lashkars have been formed in Peshawar, Swat, Dir, Buner, Bajaur, Khyber, and Arakzai.

"Moreover, the Taliban out-number and out-gun them by more than 20 to 1. The tribes may achieve tactics success in some areas, but likely will fail to achieve strategic success."
"The tribes are like islands in a sea of Taliban," a US military officer told The Long War Journal. "The leaders will be butchered once the Army pulls out of Swat."
The Taliban have ruthlessly targeted tribes looking to back the government event while the military is active in some of the regions. Hundreds of tribal leaders have been found murdered and sometimes beheaded.
The Taliban have also attacked meeting of tribal leaders attempting to organize against the extremists. Several tribes in Kohat attempted to organize against the Taliban in January 2008. A suicide attack on a tribal leader’s meeting in early March killed 40 and wounded more than 40. Several senior tribal leaders were killed, and the organized resistance to the Taliban faltered.

Iranians Announce That Ahmadinejad Has 'fallen ill'

I gotta admit, I'd have preferred if the Iranians had announced that Ahmadinejad had fallen 'dead.' But I'll take a serious illness anyday when it comes to this cockroach. Here's what is being said in Tehran from the article at Breitbart:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has fallen ill due to exhaustion brought on by his heavy workload, the state-run news agency reported quoting a close associate.
The announcement comes as doubts have surfaced over whether Ahmadinejad, who faces strong criticism from opponents, will seek re-election next year.

"The president will eventually get well and continue his job," said Kowsari, who accompanied Ahmadinejad last month to the U.N. General Assembly. "Every human being can face exhaustion under such a workload."

Ahmadinejad, who is known for working long hours, has had low blood pressure and has gone to the hospital occasionally to seek treatment, said Mohammad Hossein Saffar Harandi, the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
"Even if you are immortal, you will suffer from working so much. ... That is what has happened several times to Mr. President over the last years. However, he is up and about and fresher than us right now," he told reporters Sunday.
Now, first off, I woouldn't trust a single word coming from any Iranian. These people were born to eat, sleep, breathe and lie. So who knows...perhaps this is Ahmadinejad's way of trying to get some international attention (maybe he was jealous of the North Korean leader), or perhaps this is the mullahs way of building a case for the resignation of this putz or maybe the Mossad got a take out dinner of some lamb to him. Who knows.

But the fact of the matter is that this moron has overstayed his welcome and whether a bout of pneumonia takes him or he happens to be touring the nuclear facility on the day of an Israeli strike, it doesn't matter as long as he simply disappears.

Report: Iranian president has fallen ill

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has fallen ill due to exhaustion brought on by his heavy workload, the state-run news agency reported quoting a close associate.
The announcement comes as doubts have surfaced over whether Ahmadinejad, who faces strong criticism from opponents, will seek re-election next year.
Parliament member Mohammad Ismail Kowsari, an ally of the president, said late Saturday that Ahmadinejad was feeling under the weather because of the strain of his position, according to the news agency, IRNA.
"The president will eventually get well and continue his job," said Kowsari, who accompanied Ahmadinejad last month to the U.N. General Assembly. "Every human being can face exhaustion under such a workload."
Ahmadinejad, who rarely misses meetings and public appearances, canceled a speech Wednesday at a conference and did not appear at a Cabinet meeting the same day. But the president, who turns 53 on Monday, did attend a religious ceremony on Saturday in Tehran, though he looked tired as he greeted supporters.
On Sunday, state TV also showed him receiving credentials of three foreign ambassadors.
In recent weeks, some supporters of Ahmadinejad have been discussing potential candidates for the June 2009 election, implying that the sitting president is not their automatic choice.
But Kowsari accused opponents of using Ahmadinejad's illness as an excuse to spread rumors about whether he will run for a second term.
"Those who use such a natural issue for psychological warfare will fail" to gain support in public opinion, he said. No other details about Ahmadinejad's illness were immediately available.
Since the 1979 Islamic revolution, every Iranian president has been re-elected to a second term, except the first one, Abolhasan Banisadr, who fled the country in 1981.
The months ahead are critical for Ahmadinejad if he wants to try to rebuild his political base and rebut critics who point to his unfulfilled campaign promises, including extending Iran's oil revenues to poorer provinces around the country. With more than 10 percent unemployment and 30 percent inflation, Iran was unable to bask in record-high oil prices earlier this year.
Ahmadinejad is also confronting questions about his uncompromising stance with the West over Iran's nuclear program, which has severely soured international relations. The U.N. has also placed three rounds of sanctions against Iran since Ahmadinejad took office in 2005 over Iran's refusal to halt uranium enrichment.

Three Pali Jihadists Die In Gaza Tunnel Collapse

Boy, it's a real shame, isn't it? :covers mouth, laughing uncontrollably: Three Palestinian jihadists, smuggling all kinds of explosives, munitions and other weapons of war were killed when their tunnel collapsed on them along the Egyptian/Gaza border. Here's the details from AFP:

Three Palestinians were killed at dawn on Saturday when a tunnel collapsed under Egypt's border with the Gaza Strip, an Egyptian security official said.
Police found the bodies after hearing a loud explosion near the Salaheddin Gate which leads from the Egyptian side of the border into the impoverished Palestinian coastal territory

Can you imagine what would be found if the Egyptians actually LOOKED for these tunnels? The point is we have some of the tunnel collapses and explosions once in awhile, killing these misfits but when you calculate just how much weaponry and munitions are getting into Gaza through these tunnels, it has to be staggering.

Three killed as Gaza border tunnel collapses

EL-ARISH, Egypt (AFP) — Three Palestinians were killed at dawn on Saturday when a tunnel collapsed under Egypt's border with the Gaza Strip, an Egyptian security official said.
Police found the bodies after hearing a loud explosion near the Salaheddin Gate which leads from the Egyptian side of the border into the impoverished Palestinian coastal territory.
Several Palestinians have died in similar incidents in recent months in the tunnels, which are used to smuggle arms, fuel and other supplies into Gaza.
In mid-October, Egyptian security forces blew up 10 tunnels used by smugglers to slip contraband into the territory which is ruled by the Palestinian Islamist Hamas movement.
Israel has enforced a blockade on Gaza since Hamas seized power there in June 2007 during violent clashes with the Fatah faction loyal to Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas.

The Latest Threat To Israel: Barack Hussein Obama

This really is an excellent, indepth article detailing some individuals that certainly are of a danger to the nation of Israel and its people and how each of these jihadists are connected to a man who wishes to be President of the United States - Barack Hussein Obama. I really encourage you to read the whole article here at Family Security Matters - here's a sample:

Ali Abunimah is the "executive director" of The Electronic Intifada, which is the
principal internet mouthpiece for the Palestinian terrorist movement in the United States. Abunimah writes that he became friendly with Obama in the late 1990s in Chicago when Obama was a frequent guest at Palestinian Arab fundraisers in Chicago. One such fundraiser was for the Deisheh refugee camp near Jerusalem - which was soon to become a base for terrorist attacks on Israelis during the "Al-Aksa Intifada" which began in 2000. At one such fundraising dinner, Obama was seated at the same table as Edward Said, the chief PLO propagandist in the United States and the author of Yasser Arafat's notorious "gun and the olive branch" speech to the United Nations General Assembly in 1974.
But it was at the 2000 fundraiser at the home of Rashid and Mona Khalidi for Obama's failed 2000 run for Congress where Abunimah says he "had a chance to really talk to [Obama]. It was an intimate setting. He convinced me he was very aware of the issues [and] critical of U.S. bias toward Israel and lack of sensitivity to Arabs. ... He was very supportive of U.S. pressure on Israel."
If anyone out there actually believes Obama's statements about defending Israel to the hilt, they are sorely mistaken. There have been many indicators of advisors to Obama who are not just anti-Israel but who literally could be anti-Semite.

At the same time, most everyone by now is familiar with the relationship of Barack Hussein Obama and William Ayers, the terrorist. But what a lot of people don't know is William Ayers' view of Israel. Take a look at what Ayers said:

"In modern times, the founders of Israel used terrorism against the British and the Palestinians; the Palestinians use terrorism against Israel; and Israel currently employs terror in the service of settlement and occupation;"

There's an old saying: If you hang around a barbershop long enough, sooner or later you WILL get a haircut. And with Obama, as he has continued to surround himself with anti Israeli individuals, those views have likely transferred to him.

Israel needs to keep this in mind when they view the threat from Iran and also the threat from Hezbollah. With Obama in the White House, Israel will find it has no friend in peaceful times and no ally in times of conflict.

Barack Obama’s Anti-Israel Alliances

Barack Obama claims to be a supporter of Israel and a friend of the Jewish people. But many of the people who helped him in the course of his rise to political power, or whom he helped during his political ascent, are extremely anti-Israel, or even outright anti-Semitic. Let's examine the views and careers of just a few of Obama's anti-Israel and/or anti-Semitic benefactors and protégés:
Rashid Khalidi was the director of the PLO's press agency WAFA from 1976 to 1982, at a time when the PLO was conducting a massacre of 37 Israeli civilians in a bus on Israel's coastal road, the brutal murder of a four-year-old Israeli girl in Nahariya, and numerous other terrorist killings of Israeli civilians. The PLO was also waging a brutal war against the Lebanese Christian community during this period, and carried out numerous massacres of Lebanese Christians; the worst of these was the killing of about 500 people in the village of Damour. During this same period, Rashid's wife Mona Khalidi was an English translator for WAFA. Rashid Khalidi is now an advocate of a "one state solution" for all of "Palestine" - meaning the destruction of Israel and its replacement by an Arab state. Asaf Romirowsky and Jonathan Calt Harris, in an article in the Washington Times on July 9, 2004, summarized Rashid Khalidi's views about Israel this way: "[His] extremism comes out when he calls Israel an ‘apartheid system in creation' and a ‘racist state' that ‘brainwashed' Americans do not understand. Jerusalem, with its Jewish majority since the 1880s, he deems ‘an Arab city' whose control by Israeli ‘foreigners' is ‘unacceptable.' And so on." Khalidi also accuses Israel of "ethnic cleansing."
In 1995 Rashid and Mona Khalidi co-founded the The Arab-American Action Network, a virulently anti-Israel organization that strongly supports the Palestinian Arab terrorist movement. It regards the creation of the state of Israel as a "naqba" ("catastrophe" in Arabic). Mona Khalidi served as the group's President from its inception until some time this year, although she is now listed only as a member of its board of directors.
Rashid and Mona Khalidi became close friends of Barack and Michelle Obama during the time when both Barack and Rashid taught at the University of Chicago (1992-2003). At a lavish farewell party for Khalidi in Chicago in 2003, when Khalidi left his prestigious position at the University of Chicago for an even more prestigious one at Columbia University in New York, Obama gave Khalidi a glowing eulogy. He said that he and his wife Michelle had been frequent dinner guests of the Khalidis, and that the Khalidis had frequently babysat for the Obama children. According to a Los Angeles Times account based on a video of Obama's speech, he added that "his many talks with the Khalidis, . . .had been ‘consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases. . . . It's for that reason that I'm hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation-a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid's dinner table,' but around ‘this entire world.'"
Obama's assistance to the Khalidis, however, went beyond mere kind words at a farewell party. In 2001 and again in 2002, Obama, in his capacity as a member of the board of directors of the Leftist non-profit organization the Woods Fund, voted to give the Arab-American Action Network co-founded by Rashid and Mona, and directed by Mona Khalidi, $75,000 in grants.
Rashid and Mona Khalidi anticipated Obama's generosity to AAAN by holding a fundraiser in their house for Obama's unsuccessful run for Congress in 2000. It would seem that it later proved to be a profitable event for the Khalidis.
