Remember the Alamo

Alamo at Dawn

The Alamo today
In the early moring hours of March 6, 1836 the Mexican army advanced on the Alamo silently and killed the sentinels in their sleep. They crept unnoticed into musket range until one of the Mexicans shouted "Viva Santa Anna!" and the buglers' music started. Travis is reported to have run to the wall yelling "Come on boys, the Mexicans are upon us and we'll give them hell!"

Until the defenders ran out of previously loaded weapons they held a slight edge. Once they had used all of them they found it difficult to load another one while keeping the Mexicans from scaling the ladders they brought to the walls. Some of the younger Mexican soldiers were growing uneasy on the frontline but the older more experienced soldiers pushed them on from behind. Once they reached the wall the Texians had to lean over the wall to shoot them making themselves a better target for the attackers.

Travis is one of the first officers to have been mortally wounded. He was shot while leaning over the wall to shoot at the attackers at the base of the wall. He pulled his sword and killed a Mexican soldier at the top of the ladder before his wounds took their toll. As the Mexicans reached the top of the ladders they were either beaten back or pushed over. They regrouped and tried again but again they were stopped.

Fifteen minutes into the battle they tried again and amassed two collums at the North wall where they found it with many holes and easily climbed over the wall. Once inside they opened the gate and the flow of men inside began. Seeing this the men on the South wall turned their cannons to the North and began firing into the attackers. This made the South wall undefended and seeing this the Mexicans began taking advantage of it.

As previously planned by Travis, Bowie and Crockett the Texians retreated to interior buildings. Some tried to surrender but were massacred on the spot and some were killed attempting to find cover. Crockett led one the final group out in the open. They were unable to load their guns so used them as clubs and fought with knives. All of the remaining Texians were soon barricaded in barracks. The Mexicans used the defenders own cannons to destroy the doors and then shot into the blackened room blindly before running in to finish the job by hand to hand combat. Jim Bowie, who was too sick to take part in the battle, was in bed and killed four before being killed with bayonets.

By 6:30 the battle was over. The Mexicans inspected each body and bayoneted the ones that moved. Even with all the Texians dead the Mexicans kept shooting causing them to kill each other in some cases. Santa Anna ordered the buglers to sound retreat and they still shot the Texians bodies for another 15 minutes.

Susannah Dickinson, her infant daughter, Travis' slave Joe and another slave Ben were sent to Gozalez to tell the remaining Texian army that Santa Anna's army was unbeatable. Alsbury and her infant daughter were allowed to return to their home as was another Tejano woman. On March 11th Dickinson reached Sam Houston, recently elected commander in chief of all Texian forces, and relayed Santa Anna's message. Hearing this he had the delegates at the convention to hastily evacuated and had his army retreat.

All the defenders have long held a special place in Texas lore. The ethnic make-up of the Texian defenders was 13 Texans(11 of which were of Mexican heritage), 41 born in Europe, 2 Jews, 2 blacks and the rest were made up of Americans from states other than Texas.

Today the Alamo is the most visited tourist site in Texas. I can vouch for the goosebumps that one gets from walking into the church and to feel the presence of the valiant Texians that gave their lives for Freedom for each of us Texans today.

Texas Tells The U.S. Supreme Court To Go Fuck Itself and Its Voter ID Decision

Way to go, Texas.

Is there another state in the Union that knows its rights?

Is there another state in the Union that isn't scared of homosexuals, minorities and Commie pinkos?

Is there another state that wants the best of the best in the country to move there?

The story comes from Family Security Matters.

Texas immediately restores voter ID law after Supreme Court decision

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott announced Tuesday his state will re-establish its voter ID law after the Supreme Court struck down a section of the 1965 Voting Rights Act that required certain states to seek federal approval before changing the electoral process.

Congress must devise a new racial calculus to determine which counties and states must petition the federal government to change election laws, the majority announced.

Texas greeted the ruling with plans to implement its suspended voter ID laws and district maps.

"With today's decision, the State's voter ID law will take effect immediately. Redistricting maps passed by the Legislature may also take effect without approval from the federal government," Abbott's statement read.

In March 2012, the Department of Justice struck down the law, claiming it would disproportionally affect the state’s growing Hispanic population. Gov. Rick Perry pushed back fiercely, calling the decision “pervasive federal overreach.”

“The DOJ has no valid reason for rejecting this important law, which requires nothing more extensive than the type of photo identification necessary to receive a library card or board an airplane,” the governor said in a statement.

Abbott praised the court’s decision and the removal of the unequal application of federal laws.

“The U.S. Constitution establishes one United States — not a divided nation with different laws applying to different states. Laws that apply unequally to just some states have no place in our nation,” his statement read. “Today’s ruling ensures that Texas is no longer on of just a few states that must seek approval from the federal government before its election laws can take effect.”

The Indoctrination of Texas High School Students To Islam

The story comes from Radical Islam.

Texas High Schoolers Indoctrinated by Islamist Curriculum

State Senator Dan Patrick, chairman of the Texas senate education committee, ordered an investigation into reports that a teacher in the Lumberton High School made the female students in a geography class dress in Islamic garb including the burka.

The lesson was supposed to teach students about the life of women in Islamic countries, but made no mention of the fact that in many Islamic countries if women do not wear the burka, they are severely punished.

Parents became outraged when a photograph of the girls dressed in burkas surfaced on the internet."Christian kids who want to pray have to do it outside of school hours, yet Islam is being taught to our kids during school hours," said a very upset mother. When announcing his investigation, Senator Patrick asked, "Could you imagine if someone asked a Muslim student to dress up as a priest?"

One father, whose daughter was dressed in a burka wondered why the teacher was giving the children lessons about Islam in a geography class. “[My daughter] went from learning about Mexico to learning about Russia to learning about Islam,” he said. “Islam is not a country. Islam is not a continent.”

During a class discussion, the teacher asked the students how they perceived Islam. “Most of the class said they thought about terrorism,” reported one student. “[The teacher’s] response was, ‘We’re going to change the way we perceive Islam.’ ”

The teacher told the students they should refer to Muslim terrorists, including those involved in the 9/11 attacks, as freedom fighters. The teacher also was also quoted as saying that she did not necessarily agree with the lessons –but she was required to teach the material.

The students were also required to write an essay in which they had to explain why Egypt's current problems are a result of democracy and not because of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Lumberton High School is under the Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative (TESCCC) whose company, CSCOPE, is the producer of a controversial electronic curriculum management system that is used in 80 percent of Texas classrooms. It has been accused of having developed an anti-American, anti-Christian and pro-Islam curriculum.

Under CSCOPE rulings, teachers may only teach CSCOPE lessons and are not permitted to discuss its content with parents or other community members.

When asked to comment on the lesson of the burka dress, Lumberton Independent School District High School released the following statement to Fox News, "The lesson that was offered focused on exposing students to world cultures, religions, customs and belief systems, and the lesson is not teaching a specific religion."

The school district also said the lesson taught at the high school was not part of a written CSCOPE lesson. Janice Van Cleave, an outspoken critic of the system and the founder of Texas CSCOPE Review said, "This is the normal [standard] answer from CSCOPE. They are definitely promoting the Islamic religion. CSCOPE offers no comparable lessons on Christianity or Judaism."

Evidence was presented at a state hearing that showed that CSCOPE offered a number of lessons about Islam, with one particular lesson that instructed teachers to provide classroom readings of selected texts from the Koran and where students were also taught that Allah is God.

CSCOPE has been heavily criticized by teachers and parents for its controversial lessons. In one of them, Christianity is described as a "resurrection of pagan religions with the resurrection of Jesus Christ characterized as parallel with Osiris and Mithraism." Christians are also accused of engaging in cannibalism and incest, while indulging in "love feasts" and the "Lord’s Supper." While CSCOPE is zealous in its attacks against Christianity, critics say it finds Islam above reproach.

Anglos' in Texas - It's Over for You!

"It's basically over for Anglos" in Texas. It's a terrible situation that you are in. I am worried," says Demographer, Steve Murdock said.

Two of every three Texas children are now non-Anglo and the trend line will become even more pronounced in the future, said Murdock, former U.S. Census Bureau director and now director of the Hobby Center for the Study of Texas at Rice University.

B y 2040, only 20 percent of the state's public school enrollment will be Anglo, he said. Last year, non-Hispanic white children made up 33.3 percent of the state's 4.8 million public school enrollment.

The state's future looks bleak assuming the current trend line does not change because education and income levels for Hispanics lag considerably behind Anglos, he said.

Unless the trend line changes, 30 percent of the state's labor force will not have even a high school diploma by 2040, he said. And the average household income will be about $6,500 lower than it was in 2000. That figure is not inflation adjusted so it will be worse than what it sounds.
As yet, no similar stats to be found for Arizona, New Mexico and California. Read the story at Texas Politics.

Barack Hussein Obama, Coward That He Is, Decides To Go After Texas Behind a Woman At the EPA

You know, if you've spent any time at all at this blog you know that I have ZERO respect for Barack Hussein Obama - in my view, he is beyond a Marxist - he's a corrupt man...corrupt in his politics, corrupt in his thinking and corrupt in his soul. This is a bitter man who inhabits the White House. And at the same time, you can look at his actions as President and quickly see his behavior in many situations as that of a child or adolescent.

One example is Arizona and SB 1070 - the President has no Constitutional grounds to sue Arizona but his lawsuit, via adolescent #2 Eric Holder, is simply a temper tantrum against a state that defies him. Picture an 8 year old that doesn't want to go to bed at the regular time throwing a fit. Or picture a 16 year old teenager who is told he can't go to a weekend party because he didn't finish his chores.

Now, we see Barack Hussein Obama trying to get back at the state of Texas. In many eyes, Texas represents the most strong-willed of the united states and that doesn't sit well with Mr. Obama. So, the President has decided to get even with Texas and has decided to let a woman do his dirty work, fight his fight with Texas.

The tactic is simple - bring down Texas' prospering economy by using EPA guidelines that will kill the booming economy there.
From the article at Family Security Matters:

So why is the US Environmental Protection Agency sending federal agents to Texas – to arrest the state’s economy for the “crime” of emitting carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4)? Texas is also challenging EPA over other arbitrary new air pollution standards, but that’s another article.

EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson says her agency’s actions will “protect human health and welfare” and “ensure environmental justice,” which are “threatened” by rising temperatures and “global climate disruption.” Let EPA regulate these evil greenhouse gases, she promises, and the climate will remain “stable” and average global temperatures will never be more than 2 degrees higher than now. Bunk.

Ms. Jackson willfully ignores the immense harm that driving up energy prices will have on jobs, state revenues, people’s health and welfare, and even human lives. But her views are supported by scientists like Dr. Richard Alley, Michael Mann’s colleague at Pennsylvania State University, all handsomely paid by EPA and other federal agencies for raising alarms about global warming.

The alarmists need to get their computer models, scenarios, scare stories and climate cops out of Texas. If they don’t, Governor Perry and his Texas Rangers should arrest them for violating Lone Star rights to energy, jobs, health and the American Dream.

Seriously, I believe the author is spot on in that last paragraph - Texas needs to arrest the EPA thugs as soon as they land in the state and beyond that, I'd suggest they arrest any member of the Federal government that sets foot there afterwards.

And as for you Barack, grow the fuck up.

EPA's Texas Power Grab

Any Texas granddaddy will tell you he’s seen it all, when it comes to weather and climate extremes. Tornadoes, hurricanes, heat waves, blizzards, droughts, flash floods, and storms that bring unique combinations of wind, dust, thunder and hail.

Any Lone Star citizen will point out that Texas is America’s leading producer of crude oil, natural gas and (heavily subsidized) wind-based energy. It has the second largest workforce and gross state product in the USA, produces more electricity than any other state, and refines one-fourth of our petroleum – for a country that is 85% dependent on fossil fuels.

Mess with Texas, and the damages will reverberate throughout our nation.

Cowboys and cowgirls recognize CO2 as the plant-fertilizing “gas of life” and CH4 as natural gas and cow farts. Scientists will tell you carbon dioxide is 0.0387% of Earth’s atmosphere and methane is 0.000179 percent. Anyone with an eighth grade economics education or ounce of common sense knows CO2 is what results when CH4 heats homes, generates electricity, fuels cars and factories, and makes our health, welfare and living standards possible.

But EPA says they are “greenhouse gases” that cause “runaway global warming.” So the ideologues who run this agency are telling Texas to start regulating its power plants and refineries into bankruptcy or oblivion – or EPA goons will take over its air quality programs and economy.
Since few cowboys and cowgirls – or even college grads or most Ph.D.s – are experts on “greenhouse” gases and radiation physics, let’s take a quick look at what’s behind these EPA claims.

Alley was recently extolled in the New York Times (which no real, red-blooded Texans reads) as a “major voice of climate science.” He says that under a true worst-case scenario of doubling the concentration of CO2 and methane, our planet will fry due to 18 to 20 degrees F of global warming.

This much gas of life and cow farts, the great professor insists, would result in “an addition of heat so radical that it would render the planet unrecognizable to its present-day inhabitants.” He bases this horrifying prediction on computer models that assume human CO2 and CH4 control our climate – not the sun and dozens of powerful, complex, interacting natural forces.

The fact is, mankind has been emitting gas of life and cow farts since time immemorial. However, according to MIT’s Dr. Richard Lindzen, we are still only 80% of the way toward doubling the greenhouse gas levels found in our atmosphere at the start of the Industrial Revolution (0.0280%). But taking Dr. Alley’s computer models and doomsday predictions at their word, 80% of the way should mean temperatures in the great state of Texas should have warmed some 14 to 16 degrees between 1860 and 2010.

Hooo-weee … is that HOT, or what?

Something doesn’t seem quite right here. National Climate Data Center studies show Texas’ annual mean temperature fluctuates from year to year – but has generally been 65 to 71 degrees F, from 1895 through 2010. (We don’t have reliable data before 1895.) From the rear view of flatulent Texas longhorns, that’s a change of just 6 degrees, up or down, with no two years of identical weather, for 116 years!

Where in tarnation are those extra 10 to 12 degrees of warming that Professor Alley (in his generous spirit of “worst-case scenarios”) assures us are happening? Did the Grinch steal them? Or are those missing degrees just lurking out there, waiting to surprise us the instant CO2 levels hit 560 ppm (0.0560% of the atmosphere)? Does nature actually work that way: no response, no response – then, bam!?!? Disaster!

He and Professor Mann and Penn State sure did get a lot of millions from us taxpayers, to cook up all these disaster scenarios. So there must be something to them. (One of their buddies got a pile of taxpayer cash for saying dinosaur farts “may have contributed to global warming” 70 million years ago!)

But farmers and ranchers in Texas just cannot find that missing “heat” in their cows or plants or wild grasses. No one can find that “heat” in hurricane, tornado, hail or dust storm records, either. In fact, NOAA tells us, strong tornadoes, among top-three ranks in wind and damage scales, have been occurring less and less since record intensities during 1950s and 1960s.

That’s just the opposite of what the good professor, his sidekick Al Gore and their Climate Doomsday Gang say will happen. But isn’t that good news for Texas?

In fact, using their logic, we could argue that, since CO2 has been rising while tornado intensity is falling, maybe we should increase carbon dioxide even more, to eventually turn tornadoes into dust devils. Or say decreasing CO2 emissions could cause stronger tornadoes and damage to ramp up again.

Somehow, we don’t think carbon dioxide or methane has quite this power. We suspect there are a lot of other, far stronger, natural forces at work – causing all kinds of cyclical climate patterns. Ms. Jackson and Dr. Alley’s computer-created monsters might have a role in Frankenstein, raptor and blood-lusting alien movies. They should play no role in dictating Texas energy use and economic decisions.

So now the alarmists from the Climate Doomsday Gang have a new scare. Global warming from rising CO2 is going to cause more vector-borne diseases like malaria, dengue fever and West Nile Virus. Are you a-trembling in your bull-doodoo -covered boots now?

If Texas didn’t have decent history books in its classrooms, people might actually buy this scary story. But as those books show, malaria was eradicated in Texas and the USA during the 1950s, thanks to DDT, window screens and medical advances – not because the state’s climate got too hot or cold, wet or dry for anopheles mosquitoes.

Moreover, from 1980 to 1999 there were 62,514 cases of dengue fever (from mosquito bites) in northeastern Mexico. Meanwhile, just across the border, only 64 cases of dengue were counted in Texas. The disparate disease rates are clearly not due to the climate, but to differences in housing, medical care, wealth and technology.

The alarmists need to get their computer models, scenarios, scare stories and climate cops out of Texas. If they don’t, Governor Perry and his Texas Rangers should arrest them for violating Lone Star rights to energy, jobs, health and the American Dream.

Are You a Democrat, a Republican or a Texan?

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Texan?

==============

Here is a little test that will help you decide.

========================================
The answer can be found by posing the following question:

============================
You're walking down a deserted street with your wife
and two small children.
Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah,'Allahu Akbar' raises the knife, and charges at you...
You are carrying a Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP, and you are an expert shot.

You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

What do you do?

Democrat's Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
Does the man look poor or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
Could we run away?
What does my wife think?
What about the kids?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?
What does the law say about this situation?
Does the pistol have appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?
Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?
If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?
Should I call 9-1-1?
Why is this street so deserted?
We need to raise taxes, have paint & weed day.
Can we make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.
I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus.
This is all so confusing!

“It is only a ceasefire for Israel. It is never a ceasefire for the terrorists in the Gaza Strip.”

By Findalis of Monkey in the Middle

From the Sderot Media Center:
Waiting for the Color Red

by Jacob Shrybman

(Israelnationalnews.com) As this is the third ceasefire in three years between Hamas and Israel - with over 226 rockets being fired in the seven months since Operation Cast Lead - you will be hard pressed to find a person in Sderot who believes in the relative quiet. There is a common joke that it isn't a true ceasefire, but more like we "cease" and they "fire".

One of the most visible developments is the extensive construction of bomb shelters underway throughout Sderot. There is a huge influx of building materials for private one-room bomb shelters attached to people's homes and whole apartment complexes adding bomb shelters to each level of the building. Wherever you look in this small city of 19,500 residents, you can see thousands of shekels being poured into preparation for future rocket attacks.

Besides the various terror attacks on the border that have thankfully been thwarted by the Israel Defense Forces, there remains steady smuggling of terror weapons into the Gaza Strip. According to Israel Security Agency Chief Yuval Diskin, "Hamas is continuing to increase its strength, manufacture longer-range rockets and smuggle rockets of a far superior quality." One of these newer Grad missiles, coming straight from Iran with heightened targeting capabilities and explosive power, hit a school in Ashkelon over the Sabbath back in February. In early June, Hamas terrorists packed horses full of explosives and attempted to attack the IDF on the Gaza border.

The situation in southern Israel is quieter than during Operation Cast Lead; however, as one can see from various small news bites, it is a very delicate silence.

As this delicate silence continues, the more trouble the victims of this once daily reality of rockets have with any sort of treatment. The emergency center that treats victims of the Kassam attacks shut down this June. The two centers that treat the vast psychological damage to the people of the region will shut down in the coming months due to lack of funding. One of the private sponsors of the centers, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, cut their funding due to a restructuring of priorities.

While the medical professionals diagnose people with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as frequently as they do a common cold, there remains the unique Sderot phenomenon that there is no "post-trauma" yet due to the continuation of the rocket fire. Dr. Danny Brom, the founder and director of the Israel Center for Treatment of Psychotrauma, says that, unlike the northern cities of Haifa and Kiryat Shemona following the 2006 war with Hizbullah, Sderot is "not in a post-traumatic reality." Even though the need for trauma treatment is ever present, the centers serving Sderot and the surrounding areas are closing.

After the widely covered Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip this past December and January came the widespread criticisms and condemnations of Israel's actions. The United Nations established a fact-finding mission on the Gaza conflict. Although the Israeli government did not officially participate, private individuals flew to Geneva to testify about the rocket fire in southern Israel. This past July, along with Noam Shalit, Sderot Media Center Director Noam Bedein gave testimony, with the assistance of videos, explaining the human side of the daily reality of rocket fire on civilians.

This is the third "quiet period" Sderot has seen. During the first, over 300 rockets landed in the region and during the second, over 500; now, the number is steadily rising to over 226 rockets. The world may have found new topics in the news, but that has not stopped the rockets. Sderot is continuing to go about its daily life through the eerie quiet, knowing well that the rockets will return in full force in due time.
In a cease-fire, both sides are suppose to stop all attacks. Not just one side.

by Jacob Shrybman

Following four rocket and mortar attacks in southern Israel this week making it 230 attacks since the ceasefire on January 18th, ranking Republican member of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee Florida Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R) and Texas Governor Rick Perry visited Sderot, Israel and the shut down Sderot Emergency Center accompanied by the Sderot Media Center yesterday. During the visit, Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen noted the still apparent rocket threat, “It is only a ceasefire for Israel. It is never a ceasefire for the terrorists in the Gaza Strip.”

Texas Governor Rick Perry in Sderot, Israel.

The Congresswoman and Texas Governor visited the city of Sderot, Israel today to see first hand the toll that over eight years of rocket fire has had on the people of Sderot. The Sderot Emergency Center which provides immediate first aid to the victims of the rocket attacks was closed last month due to lack of funding and was specially opened for Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen and Governor Perry.

View video here.

Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen expressed her concern for the deterioration of the situation in Sderot. “We are very worried about the budget cuts of the trauma clinics. That is going to have such a severe negative impact on the children and the families of this ‘Missile City’.” The Congresswoman continued to highlight the city's psychological crisis and the closing of its trauma centers, “The needs are getting tougher and tougher and yet you see trauma centers getting closed. It just makes no sense.”

After visiting the closed Sderot Emergency Center, the Congresswoman and Texas Governor spoke to Sderot residents and viewed a short clip from Sderot Media Center ’s and American producer Liane Thompson’s upcoming feature-length documentary, Missile City Kids , that aims to create global awareness of the psychological trauma of Sderot’s children.

Texas Governor Rick Perry commented after the clip of Missile City Kids, “I hope most Americans realize that there’s a part of the world where children are still being victimized, and individuals, freedom loving people, who just want to live in freedom and live in peace are being victimized every day by individuals, who for whatever reason, want to attack in the most vicious and thoughtless way to destroy lives. And for what reason? G-d only knows.” The Governor continued conveying his support for Sderot, “Americans and certainly Texans are going to be supporting the citizens of this city.”
Gov. Perry not only paid a visit to Sderot, he is in Israel discussing security, seeing the sites, and received the Defender of Jerusalem Award.

Besides the lone star that sits boldly on both of their flags, Texas and Israel have much in common, and a sturdy relationship that should continue to grow, according to Texas Governor Rick Perry, who is in the country on a visit aimed at strengthening economic ties between the Jewish State and his own.

"I come from a pro-business, pro-prosperity point of view," Gov. Perry told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday, "And the first goal of this trip was to further some of the economic development that already exists between Texas and Israel, and to recruit some of the Israeli businesses we visited here to expand and come to Texas."

Perry also recalled the Texas-Israel Exchange - a body that supports the trade of agricultural know-how between Texan and Israeli scientists - which he established in 1991, while serving as the Texas Agriculture Commissioner.

"We have a connection that goes back many years," he said. "And Israel has a lot that we can learn from, especially in the areas of water conservation and semi-arid land - Israeli technology has helped us a lot in dealing with drought."

"But also," the governor continued, "when I was here for the first time some 18 years ago and I was touring the country, the comparison between Masada and the Alamo was not lost on me. I mean, we're talking about two groups of people who were willing to give up their lives for freedom and liberty." Beyond the comparisons, Gov. Perry said another point of his trip here was to show other people "what was really going on", with regards to the military threats facing the country, and in particular the IDF's recent Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip.

"We went to the border with Gaza and received a briefing from the army there, and we went to Sderot and saw the police station with all the Kassam rockets piled up, we saw playgrounds that had to be covered from rocket fire. It's a powerful place." In that vein, the governor said he was also interested in learning more about security aspects while in the country, as Texas has a large, porous border with Mexico, and the recent violence in that country had unnerved many Texans.

"Israel is a leader in security technology, and another reason for our visit to the Gaza border was to see some of the security measures being used there," said Perry.

Wouldn't that be funny. The Texas border safeguarded by Israeli technology. I wonder when the Mexican government would start comparing itself to Gaza.
“I hope most Americans realize that there’s a part of the world where children are still being victimized, and individuals, freedom loving people, who just want to live in freedom and live in peace are being victimized every day by individuals, who for whatever reason, want to attack in the most vicious and thoughtless way to destroy lives. And for what reason? G-d only knows. Americans and certainly Texans are going to be supporting the citizens of this city.” Gov. Rick Perry.
I hope you will support Sderot too. Just click here, and donate what you can. The smallest amount goes a long way.

And this tribute is for Gov. Rick Perry and all the good people of Texas. How I wish he was my Governor!
