Third Predator Drone Strike of the Week in Pakistan Kills 3 Taliban in South Waziristan

This officially qualifies as a helluva day. :)

First we get the great news that Al-Awlaki is dead and gone in Yemen and then we get three dead jihadis in Pakistan whose vehicle was blown to bits by predator drone fired hellfire missiles.

Yep. This has been ONE HELLUVA DAY.....

Story is from The Long War Journal.

US Predators strike again in South Waziristan

US Predators struck today in Pakistan's Taliban-controlled tribal agency of South Waziristan, killing three "militants."

The unmanned, CIA-operated Predators or Reapers fired a pair of missiles at a vehicle parked in a compound in the village of Baghar in the Angor Adda area of South Waziristan, according to AFP. Three "militants" were reported to have been killed in the attack.

The exact target of the strike is unknown. No senior Taliban or al Qaeda operatives were reported killed in today's strike.

Today's strike takes place as the US and Pakistan are waging a war of words over the latter's support of the Haqqani Network, the al Qaeda-linked Taliban subgroup that is based in Miramshah in North Waziristan. Several US officials, including Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and outgoing Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen, have accused Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate, or ISI, of directly supporting Haqqani Network attacks inside Afghanistan. Most recently, the US said that the ISI aided the Haqqani Network in attacking the US Embassy and ISAF headquarters in Kabul.

"Good Taliban" leader Mullah Nazir also an al Qaeda leader

Today's attack occurred in an area of South Waziristan controlled by Mullah Nazir, the leader of the Taliban in the Waziri tribal areas.

Mullah Nazir has openly supported Taliban emir Mullah Omar and al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, and wages jihad in Afghanistan. In an interview with the Asia Times, Nazir rejected claims that he opposed al Qaeda, and affirmed that he considered himself to be a member of the global terror organization.

"Al Qaeda and the Taliban are one and the same," Nazir said. "At an operational level we might have different strategies, but at the policy level we are one and the same.... This is wrong that I am anti-al Qaeda. I am part of al Qaeda."

Pakistan's military and intelligence services consider Nazir and his followers "good Taliban" as they do not openly seek the overthrow of the Pakistani state.

In the summer of 2009, the military signed a peace agreement with Nazir stipulating that he would not shelter al Qaeda or members of the Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan, which were based in the Mehsud tribal areas of South Waziristan. The Pakistani government launched a military operation against the Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan in October 2009, but left Nazir's areas untouched. Nazir has continued to allow the Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan, al Qaeda, and other terror groups safe haven in his tribal areas.

Significantly, more senior al Qaeda leaders have been killed in Nazir's tribal areas during the US air campaign than in those of any other Taliban leader in Pakistan. Nazir also shelters the Mehsuds from the Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan, in violation of the peace agreement with the Pakistani government.

In the past, the US has killed several senior al Qaeda leaders in Nazir's territories. One of the most senior al Qaeda leaders killed was Midhat Mursi al Sayyid Umar, better known as Abu Khabab al Masri. On July 28, 2008, Abu Khabab was killed in a Predator strike along with four members of his staff.

Two other top al Qaeda leaders killed while in Nazir's care were Osama al Kini (Fahid Mohammed Ally Msalam), al Qaeda's operations chief in Pakistan; and Sheikh Ahmed Salim Swedan, one of al Kini's senior aides. Both men were wanted by the US for their involvement in the 1998 suicide attacks on the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.

The US believes it killed Abu Zaid al Iraqi during a Feb. 20, 2010 airstrike in Azam Warzak. Abu Zaid is said to be al Qaeda's top financier in Pakistan.

In another strike in Nazir's territory, US Predators also killed Abu Hazwa Jawfi, who is said to have led Jundallah, a Pakistani terror group that is based in Karachi and maintains close ties with al Qaeda.

And Ilyas Kashmiri, the leader of al Qaeda's Lashkar-al-Zil, or Shadow Army, is reported to have been killed in a June 3 Predator strike in Nazir's tribal areas. Kashmiri's death has not been confirmed, however.

The Predator strikes, by the numbers

Today's strike is the fourth in Pakistan's tribal areas this month, and the third since Sept. 23. In the last two strikes, which took place in North Waziristan on Sept. 23 and South Waziristan on Sept. 27, no senior al Qaeda or Taliban leaders were reported killed. The previous strike, on Sept. 11, killed killed Abu Hafs al Shahri, whom US intelligence officials have described as al Qaeda's operations chief for Pakistan.

The pace of the US strikes has been uneven over the past year, and the monthly strike totals have generally decreased. From January through August 2011, the strikes in Pakistan were as follows: nine strikes in January, three strikes in February, seven in March, two in April, seven in May, 12 in June, three in July, and six in August. In the last four months of 2010, the US averaged almost 16 strikes per month (21 in September, 16 in October, 14 in November, and 12 in December).

So far this year, the US has carried out 53 strikes in Pakistan. In 2010, the US carried out 117 strikes, which more than doubled the number of strikes that had occurred in 2009; by late August 2010, the US had exceeded 2009's strike total of 53 with a strike in Kurram. In 2008, the US carried out a total of 36 strikes inside Pakistan. [For up-to-date charts on the US air campaign in Pakistan, see LWJ Special Report, Charting the data for US airstrikes in Pakistan, 2004 - 2011.]

In 2010 the strikes were concentrated almost exclusively in North Waziristan, where the Afghan and Pakistani Taliban, the Haqqani Network, al Qaeda, and a host of Pakistani and Central and South Asian terror groups are based. All but 13 of the 117 strikes took place North Waziristan. Of the 13 strikes occurring outside of North Waziristan in 2010, seven were executed in South Waziristan, five were in Khyber, and one was in Kurram.

This year, that pattern has changed, as an increasing number of strikes are taking place in South Waziristan. So far in 2011, 33 of the 53 strikes have taken place in North Waziristan, 19 strikes have occurred in South Waziristan, and one took place in Kurram.

The US campaign in northwestern Pakistan has targeted top al Qaeda leaders, al Qaeda's external operations network, and Taliban leaders and fighters who threaten both the Afghan and Pakistani states as well as support al Qaeda's external operations. The campaign has been largely successful in focusing on terrorist targets and avoiding civilian casualties, as recently affirmed by the Pakistani military.

Especially if your name is Anwar al-Awlaki.

Born in the United States to parents of Yemeni origins.  His parents returned to Yemen when he was 7.  He lived in Yemen for 11 years then returned to the United States to attend university.  He graduated Colorado State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and was the President of the University's Muslim Students Union.  He was a leader in al-Qaeda and took over leadership of the organization when Bin Ladin was killed.

al-Awlaki was the English voice of al-Qaeda.
The U.S.-born terror mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki has been killed, Fox News confirms.

The government of the Republic of Yemen officially announced the death, saying Awlaki was targeted and killed about 5 miles from the town of Khashef in the Province of Jawf.

The operation was launched earlier today at around 9:55 AM, local time.

Yemeni security and tribal officials said an air strike thought to have been carried out by U.S. aircraft on Friday targeted a convoy of cars traveling in the eastern province of Marib but could not say whether al-Awlaki was in the convoy.

The 40-year-old al-Awlaki is believed to have inspired and even plotted or helped coordinate some of the recent attacks on the U.S., including the failed Christmas Day 2009 bombing of an airliner heading for Detroit, Michigan, and the also unsuccessful plot to send mail bombs on planes from Yemen to the United States in October.

The American-born son of Yemeni parents rose to prominence as Al-Qaeda's English-speaking voice and electronic messenger, spreading its terrorist credo via a blog, social media posts and email exchanges with such people as the U.S. Army major accused of a murderous shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas.

The Pakistani-American man who pleaded guilty to the May 2010 Times Square failed car bombing attempt told interrogators he was "inspired" by al-Awlaki after making contact over the Internet. Al-Awlaki was further believed to have had a hand in mail bombs addressed to Chicago-area synagogues, packages intercepted in Dubai and Europe in October 2010.

Yemen had in the past reported the deaths of Al-Qaeda leaders who were later found to be alive. Al-Awlaki was last reported to have been killed in December 2009.

Al-Awlaki is on a U.S. kill-or-capture list and is accused by Washington of inspiring several attacks in the United States.

The Yemeni officials spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to share the information.

Yemen is the Arab world's most impoverished nation and has become a haven for Al-Qaeda militants.

Yemen has claimed this kill.  The US claims it was done by a drone.  All that matters is this scumbag is dead and getting his just reward.

Pakistani Family Refuses To Kill Their Daughter Who Shamed Them and Islam By Being....Raped

Rape survivor Kainat Soomro, left / Hilke Schellmann

Just another one of those stories that highlights just how depraved Islam is in regards to women, virginity and honor as we hear the account of a young Pakistani woman who has fought to see the four men who gang raped her charged with their crime and at the same time, her family has fought off the tradition of Islam to kill her for being raped.

The money lines from the story at The Atlantic:

According to the Kainat family's account, the tribal elders declared her kari, (which literally means black female), for losing her virginity outside marriage.

In Pakistan, women and men who have illicit relationships or women who lose their virginity before marriage are at risk of paying with their lives.

Kainat said that despite the pressures her family refused to kill her.

"It is the tradition, but if the family doesn't permit it, then it won't happen. My father, my brother, my mom didn't allow it," she said.

And that defiance has left the family fearing for their lives. The family's new home in Karachi has been attacked a number of times.

So there you have it...the islamic family of the month who refused to kill their 17 year old daughter because she was abducted and gang raped. Good grief.

Refusing to Kill Daughter, Pakistani Family Defies Tradition, Draws Anger

KARACHI, PAKISTAN -- Kainat Soomro is a 17-year-old Pakistani girl who has become a local celebrity of sorts in her battle for justice in the Pakistani courts, a daring move for a woman of any age in this country, let alone a teenager.

She is fighting to get justice for a gang rape that she insists happened four years ago in Mehar, a small town in Pakistan.

We first met her in the office of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. A colorful traditional Pakistani shawl covered her head. Her father sat next to her as she recounted the 2007 incident.

"I was walking home from my school and I went to the store to buy a toy for my niece," she said, staring at the floor of the office. "While I was looking at things a guy pressed a handkerchief on my nose. I fainted and was kidnapped. Then four men gang raped me."

As she shared details of her days in captivity and multiple rapes, she kept repeating, "I want justice, I will not stop until I get justice." After three days, she was finally able to escape she said. As she spoke, her father gently tapped her head. He said he tried to get Kainat's alleged rapists arrested, but instead he was rebuffed by the police.

According to the Kainat family's account, the tribal elders declared her kari, (which literally means black female), for losing her virginity outside marriage.

In Pakistan, women and men who have illicit relationships or women who lose their virginity before marriage are at risk of paying with their lives.

"These are matters of honor and the leaders call a jirga and they declare that the woman or the couple should be killed," said Abdul Hai, a veteran field officer for the Human Rights Commission in Pakistan. These acts of violence are most commonly labeled as "honor killings."

The most recent report from the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan noted that in 2009 roughly 46 percent of all female murders in Pakistan that year were in the name of "honor." The report noted that a total of 647 incidences of "honor killings" were reported by the Pakistani press. However, experts say that actual incidences of "honor killings" in Pakistan are much higher and never get reported to the police because they are passed off by the families as suicides.

But, according to Abdul Hai, Kainat is lucky: "The woman or the girl usually gets killed and the man gets away," he said. "Over 70 percent of the murdered victims are women and only 30 percent of victims of honor killings are male."

In Karachi, Kainat and her family are now sharing one room in a run-down apartment block, and they have to rely on charities to help them pay for food.

"We go hungry many nights," said Kainat's older sister.

But their fight might never pay off. A local judge has already ruled against Kainat in the case. "There is no corroborative evidence available on record. The sole testimony of the alleged rape survivor is not sufficient," the judge said in a written decision.

Another problem is that material evidence is usually not collected in rape cases in Pakistan since the police rarely believe rape victims and therefore don't order rape kits in a timely manner.

Without medical tests to corroborate her story, it remains Kainat's word against the alleged rapists. But even having lost her case at the local court, Kainat insists, "I am not giving up, I will take this all the way to the Supreme Court of Pakistan."

Taliban Kidnap 30 Coal Miners and 4 Road Workers In Khyber

It looks like the Taliban must be running low on cash as 30 coal mine workers in Khyber, Pakistan and also 4 road workers also in Khyber were kidnapped today. The story, from DAWN, states that no group has taken responsibility for the abductions but yes, it IS the Taliban.

From the article:

Thirty-four labourers were kidnapped from two different locations in the Khyber tribal region, DawnNews reported on Friday.

According to security officials, dozens of armed men picked up 30 labourers working in a coal mine in Bara’s Akkakhel area. In a separate incident, four labourers working on a roadside were also kidnapped in the tribal region.

All the abducted labourers were shifted to an unknown location, sources added.

Panic gripped the locality and security forces started a rescue operation after cordoning off the area.

No group has claimed responsibility for the kidnappings so far.

The bad news for the abductees is that while the Taliban have great patience when it comes to fighting American and NATO troops as well as Pakistani troops, they typically don't consider their kidnap victims a long term scenario - I guess it's hard to keep moving around the countryside with 34 prisoners in tow. We have had numerous incidents of the Taliban conducting such kidnappings and if they aren't paid off within a week or 10 days, they simply kill the lot and leave them.

Christian Pastor In Iran Faces Execution Because He Refuses To Convert Back To Islam

Facing execution: Youcef Nadarkhani, left, is pictured with his wife and two children in an undated photograph circulated by religious rights organisations

Whoa! How many times have I told you all at this blog how evil the islamists are? A thousand times? More than that? Well, how about a so-called religion that simply makes the example in the year 2011 that you either disavow your Christianity and convert back to Islam or you will be killed...does that sound like a religion to you? This is today. This is happening today in 2011 in Iran. Not in the Middle Ages, people...but today in modern day Iran. Death or Islam...your choice.

A hat tip goes to Liberty Son for calling this story to my attention. It truly is amazing.

Here's some of the story from the Daily Mail:

A man who converted from Islam to Christianity is facing the death penalty in Iran for refusing to return to his former religion.

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, 34, of the Church of Iran, faces hanging after refusing a court order to renounce his Christian faith.

If the execution goes ahead it would be the first Christian to be officially executed in Iran for religious reasons in 20 years.

The pastor had defied a request by the Gilan provincial court, in the Iranian city of Rasht, to repent ahead of today's hearing.

Nadarkhani was initially charged with protesting, but charges against him were later changed to 'apostasy' - or abandoning Islam - and 'evangelising Muslims', which both carry the death sentence.

He was later tried and found guilty of apostasy in September 2010, and sentenced to death by the court in the city of Rasht.

Nadarkhani told the court during his first hearing on Sunday that he had no intention of returning to Islam.

He said: 'Repent means to return. What should I return to? To the blasphemy that I had before my faith in Christ?'

However, the court said that because Nadarkhani has Islamic ancestry, he therefore must 'recant his faith in Jesus Christ'.

When the court ordered him to 'return to the religion of your ancestors - Islam', Nadarkhani replied: 'I can not.'

Now this story is seeing some officials from various countries trying to persuade Iran not to follow through with this execution and for that I call bullshit - fuck this trying to beg Iran or any of these Muslim animals not to commit an atrocity like this - we should be attacking this fake religion from every high place on this planet. It's high time that this ideology, this nut job ideology from a 7th century madman be exposed for the fallacy that it is.

You have to admit that this guy, Pastor Nadarkhani, has stones the size of the Catacombs. This man, if executed, could become the rallying point of all Christians and Jews on this planet who will finally say "enough is enough." A rallying point to say....not only will we NOT convert but we will take you on...face to face. No more appeasing. No more excuses. No more backing up from politically correct threats. No more backing up period. It's high time to take the offensive.

Despite assurances that Nadarkhani's case will be sent back to Iran's Supreme Court, his supporters fear the provincial court will use a law, temporarily ratified by parliament, to execute him this week.

The married father-of-two was detained in his home city of Rasht in October 2009, while attempting to register his church.

Supporters of the pastor say he was arrested after questioning the Muslim monopoly on the religious instruction of children in Iran.

Church officials say there may be as many as 100,000 devoted Christians in the country and that Iran's leadership is concerned about the spread of Christianity.

In June this year the Supreme Court of Iran upheld the death sentence but asked the lower court in Rasht, which issued the initial sentence, to re-examine whether or not he had been a practicing Muslim adult prior to converting to Christianity.

Jason DeMars, of advocacy group Present Truth Ministries, said: 'This law dictates what should be done with apostates, depending on what type of apostasy has been committed.

'My sources tell me that the court has been told to give the "apostate" three days to recant, then execute him.'

Mr DeMar added that section 6.225 of Iran's controversial legislation says that if a person's parents were Muslims at the time they were trying to conceive a child, and that converts to another religion and renounces Islam, he or she would be a national apostate.

He said: 'The death sentence is the penalty for national apostate, but after the verdict is pronounced, he or she will be commanded to repent of what he or she has done.

'If he refuses to repent, he will be killed.'

The written verdict of the Supreme Court's decision also included a provision for annulment of the death sentence if Pastor Nadarkhani recanted his faith.

Although the court found that Pastor Nadarkhani was not a practicing Muslim adult, the court said he remained guilty of apostasy because he had Muslim ancestry.

Nadarkhani's lawyer, Mohammed Ali Dadkhah, told the court that the repeated demand for his client to recant his Christian faith violated Iranian law and its constitution.

The last Iranian Christian convert from Islam executed by the Iranian government was Assemblies of God Pastor Hossein Soodmand in 1990.

However, several other Christians, including at least six Protestant pastors, are reported to have been assassinated in Iran by unknown killers in recent years.

Mr Ali Dadkhah said he was hopeful an appeals court would acquit his client.

He said there was a '95 per cent chance' of acquittal.

Nadarkhani turned to Christianity when he was 19.

The Day Hillary Clinton Gave Up Her Chance To Ever Become President

You know, you gotta wonder about a woman who, after enduring her husband's infidelity for decades and his abuse of their marriage vows, would still put her husband before even her dreams of the highest political position in the country, but Hillary Clinton has done just that - I guess the old adage that the socialist movement supercedes anything else is true.

This article at American Thinker discusses the absolutely stunning turnaround of Hillary Clinton in regards to Israel and Jews - it looks at the complete pandering to New York Jews by Clinton when she really needed the votes to become U.S. Senator and now that she is Secretary of State, the new position of hers that Jerusalem really shouldn't be the capital of Israel. And that brings me to the reference to her allegiance to her husband...you see, former President Bill Clinton has a hard on for someone other than a blonde that isn't his wife....Bill Clinton has never gotten over the feud he had with Israel's Benyamin Netanyahu. You see, most people that dared to dismantle the likes of Bill Clinton usually ended up parked in a car in a Virginia park or on a plane with some faulty wiring and the fact that Israel's Netanyahu didn't follow Bill Clinton's advice like some sort of thankful puppy way back when....well, Bill never forgot it and we see now how Hillary never forgot it either.

From the article:

In a stunning reversal, Hillary Clinton has done a 180 on her position on Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, contradicting the position she took when she was New York's junior senator, and needed Jewish votes. The great Rick Richman writes in the New York Sun:

Secretary of State Clinton, in a sharp departure from her stance when she was a senator, is warning that any American action, even symbolically, toward recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel must be avoided for the reason that it would jeopardize the peace process.

Her warnings were issued in a brief she has just filed with the Supreme Court - in which she is arguing that a law she voted for when she was Senator is unconstitutional because it could require the U.S. government to give to an American citizen born at Jerusalem papers showing the birthplace as Israel.

The law requiring the government to issue such documents on request passed the Senate unanimously at a time when Mrs. Clinton was a member. But Presidents Bush and Obama have taken the position that the law infringes on the president's prerogatives in respect of foreign policy. Mrs. Clinton is being sued by an American youngster, Menachem Zivotofsky, who was born at Jerusalem in 2002 to American parents who want his birthplace to be listed on his passport as Israel.

I can only assume that speculation about Secretary Clinton running for president is now irrelevant. This is a bombshell as far as pro-Israel voters are concerned.

Obviously, this has not been the first time Hillary Clinton has stabbed the Israelis in the back - in fact, she was the first of the Obama administration to show the signs of an American shift against the long time ally when she began her vendetta against settlement expansion in the West Bank. Now, after a huge outcry, Clinton toned down her attacks after some time but once again her hatred of Netanyahu's treatment of her divine Bill rears its ugly head again.

Apparently Hillary hasn't seen the huge serving of crow that one Barack Hussein Obama has had to eat in the past two weeks in regards to America's Jews but it's obvious to me that Hillary Clinton truly doesn't have any intention of running for President again - she has basically flipped off every American in this country that supports Israel and as we all know, that is the vast majority of the country.

Hillary's Turnabout on Jerusalem

In a stunning reversal, Hillary Clinton has done a 180 on her position on Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, contradicting the position she took when she was New York's junior senator, and needed Jewish votes. The great Rick Richman writes in the New York Sun:

Has Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Finally Reached the End of His Reign? Is He Out For Good?

Well, according to this article at DEBKA, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a dead man walking....at least his political career is dead, anyway. It appears that the Ayatollah in Iran has had enough with the holocaust denier (not to say the Ayatollah doesn't think the same way) and Ahmadinejad will be gone from power soon enough.

From the article:

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the driving force behind Iran's nuclear program and the most vocal of Israel's enemies, is on his last legs as president. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has stripped him of most of his powers and shut the door against his having any political future.
debkafile's Iranian sources report his loyalists have been deserting him in droves since he went to New York to deliver an address to the UN General Assembly on Sept. 23. The Supreme Leader used his absence for the coup de grace: The removal of the president's loyalists from the list of 4,000 contenders running for seats in parliament (the Majlis) next March.

The betting in Tehran is that the Supreme Leader will not actually sack Ahmadinejad but let him last out his term as yesterday's man, lame duck in political isolation.
debkafile's Iranian sources: Two frontrunners for future president most mentioned recently are two hardliners, Majils (legislature) Speaker Ali Larijani, a former senior nuclear negotiator with the West, and ex-foreign minister Ali Akhbar Veliyati, who is a member of Khamenei's kitchen cabinet as senior adviser on international relations.

We have to remember that in Iran it's all about the mullahs - Ahmadinejad is similar to one of the "Presidents" we see across the Middle East who really have zero power or influence ....Perez in Israel, Gul in Turkey, are a couple of examples.

I think what is behind a lot of this is that the Ayatollah was surprised by the Green revolution in the country - his wager was that Ahmadinejad's popularity with the people when elected would carry on indefinitely but of course, as the Iranian economy tanked, so did the support for the monkey man.

I'm not saying that a new Iranian President will be any less evil or dangerous but I'm simply sick and tired of this misfit getting any attention in this world, so let's be rid of him.

The end of Ahmadinejad. His cronies barred from election

That was easily arranged: Khameini handed his orders to Ayatollah Mohammad Kani, head of the Assembly of Experts, which In the Islamic Republic of Iran is responsible for screening all contenders for office. He was told to disqualify all the president's associates. So, in the next Majlis, Ahmadinejad will be shorn of a loyal faction and any buddies sticking to him when his second presidential term runs out in May 2013 will be out of a job.

The Supreme Ruler degraded the president very publicly with one humiliation after another.

He waited for Ahmadinejad to go on the air in a US NBC interview on Sept. 13 to promise the release of Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer, the two American hikers convicted of spying, before cutting him down by suspending their release until the Iranian president was being booed by protesters in New York for reneging on his promise.
Tehran's political, religious and military insiders were not surprised by his downfall, our Iranian sources report. For some time he had been getting too big for his boots, accumulating more powers than any president before him and only getting away with it so long as he was Khamenei's fair-haired boy.

But then, the favorite, whose election in 2005 and reelection in 2009, Khamenei engineered at the cost of violent anti-government protests in Tehran, rewarded him with ingratitude. He increasingly flouted the master and in some cases began chipping away at his authority - until Khamenei had had enough and decided to reel him in.

At the last minute, he cancelled a live Ahmadinejad interview on Iran's second television network wide publicized for the eve of his departure to the United Nations.
The affronts followed him home to Tehran, where waiting for him were serious criminal charges linking his name to the disappearance of three billion dollars from Iranian banks. The name of the embezzler has not been released but our sources in Tehran reveal him as Amir Mansour Arya, an entrepreneur who started a business five years ago with Ahmadinejad’s encouragement and whose fortune grew a thousand fold within a suspiciously short time.
Arya is accused of using his presidential connections to secure multi-billion dollar loans from Iranian banks and then spiriting large sums out of the country.

Ahmadinejad denies any complicity in the crime. He tried fighting back by threatening to publish within 15 days "dozens of names" of rivals he claims are guilty of financial crimes. The deadline came and went without publication.

Imams Gone Wild

Imam Abu Taubah aka Marcus Dwayne Robertson.

This story from Family Security Matters details an arrest of a Florida imam by the FBI but also focuses on a couple of things - first of all....why is a major Florida newspaper refusing to report such news and also, when one looks at Florida alone, you start to see some disturbing trends in regards to the activities of islamic imams in just that one state.

It's my contention that we are beginning to see the bravado of imams in America - much as we have seen now for a few years in Britain. You see, in Britain, Islamic imams have totally thrown off the mask of stealth jihad and are blatant about their aggression against the British state. And I'm afraid we are already starting to see that happen in America.

Part of this trend is explained by the fact that the Orlando Sentinel isn't even running that story...couple that with the fact that there have been numerous accounts of local police officials who have just simply looked the other way when it comes to criminal behavior by such Muslim "religious" leaders. I've said it before....give these Muslims an inch and they'll take a mile.

Orlando Florida Imam Arrested by the FBI

On August 23, 2011 the FBI arrested Imam Abu Taubah aka Marcus Dwayne Robertson. The charge was possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon, Case Number: 6:11-mj-1380 Attached to Imam Abu Robertson’s case is a Notice of Intent To Use Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Information (FISA).

The U.S. Government’s intention to use its FISA powers signals probable cause to charge Imam “Taubah” Robertson “the target of such search is a foreign power or an agent of a foreign power”.

The facts presented in these filed charges leads this reporter to suspect an element of foreign intrigue may be a key component in the prosecution of this case.

Imam Robertson’s Mosque is located at 6630 Pershing Road in Orlando, FL. The Mosque’s website Masjid al-Ishaan is down for maintenance and hopefully out of business, if these charges prove the Imam’s guilt. Thank you to The Internet Haganah for breaking this story, and shame on The Orlando Sentinel’s refusal to publish a story on the arrest. This reporter sent all the court case documents to Sentinel reporter Jeff Kurneth, a letter to the editor accompanied the documents.

On September 2nd the Orlando Sentinel did run a front page story on Imam Muhammad Musri who was charging his fellow Muslims $5 to park for Friday Jumma prayers calling it the infamous “Pay to Pray” scandal. As important as “pay to pray” may be to some, it does not take a Sentinel Editor to realize that when the FBI arrests an Orlando Muslim Imam it is big news, especially to the residents who live and work near the Mosque in question.

In another Orlando Imam related story, the Orlando Sentinel neglected to print an alarming incident with Imam Musri back in 2010. A team of eight investigative reporters caught on film Orlando Imam Muhammad Musri hosting a fundraiser featuring the infamous George Galloway, who raised over $50,000 from local Orlando Muslims for Hamas - video link. After the video was released George Galloway’s visa to enter the United States was revoked by United States Government. Imam Musri remains on the Governor of Florida’s Faith Based Advisory Council and is considered the “go to” person in Orlando for all things Islamic.

A poster at Internet Haganah states correctly that,

“In Brooklyn, NY during the early 90s, Abu Taubah and a group of young Muslims executed a number of postal office and bank robberies under the direction of Abu Taubah, who used his military expertise to plan the armed robberies. When the young men and a sister were apprehended by authorities, Abu Taubah turned to a federal witness testifying against the very Muslims he trained to commit crimes.”

Imam Taubah Robertson was a snitch who sold out his Muslim friends to successfully receive a lighter sentence for himself. Imam “Snitch” Robertson is out of jail while his Muslim partners in crime are serving 50+ year sentences according to court records. The Qur’an demands harsh punishments against those Muslims who turn on their fellow Muslims.

In May of 2011 South Florida Imam Hafiz Khan, sons Irfan and Izhar Khan, daughter Amina Khan, and grandson Zeb were arrested for conspiring to provide material support in a conspiracy to kill, injure and kidnap people abroad, and providing $50,000 to the Pakastani Taliban. Hafiz Khan is the 76 year old Imam of the Jamaat al-Mu’mineen Mosque in Margate, Florida.

We are told ad nauseum by Muslim advocacy groups, the mainstream press, and our Homeland Security Department that Muslims who commit or support terrorist acts are “extremists”, “misunderstanders of Islam”, and “hijackers of the Religion of Peace”. The facts in these cases point to the most trusted and knowledgable Muslim community leader, the Imam, as the terrorists among us.

The one recurring theme I see, in the Imam “Snitch” Robertson, Imam Khan, and Imam Musri stories, is that the Imams are the ones getting arrested or supporting terrorism. This fact completely debunks what we are being told by CAIR, ISNA, Muslim Brotherhood, the press, and our government. By definition an Imam is a prayer leader and is often the final arbiter of Shariah (Islamic Law) rulings in the American Muslim community.

We have three recent case studies where the “Imam” commits acts of Jihad while setting an example on how to be a “good” Muslim. Therefore, it is logical to conclude that when an Imam is committing acts of terrorism (both violent and non violent) they are following the true tenets of Shariah Islam because they are the most knowledgable on all things Islam. For Muslim apologists to say that “Imam’s Gone Wild” do not impart their Jihadist views on the Muslim community is dangerously naive. Such reasoning makes an implausible argument. Imam Hafiz Khan made his terrorist Jihadi activities a family affair from Los Angeles, CA to Margate, FL. Imam Taubah “Snitch” Robertson was an ex felon not even a fellow felon could love. Imam Musri talks a good game and even has the ear of the Governor of Florida, but when he thinks no one is looking he is a supporter of Hamas. Imam Musri’s Mosques’ title holder, The North American Islamic Trust, is an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood according to Holy Land Foundation terrorist funding trial court documents. (Go to Page 15 for English Translation).

These three cases clearly show that an Imam can cross over easily from the spiritual to the political while staying true to their Political Islam. Imams around the world teach that Allah’s Law is Superior to all man-made laws. The Qur’an, Muslims believe, was the final revelation of Allah transmitted to the Angel Gabriel who transmitted it directly to Muhammad and has not been corrupted by man. Muslims believe all previous religious and governmental constructs are NOT divinely inspired, including our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

If these Imam’s gone wild were just isolated cases there would be no dots to connect. Unfortunately, the historical record is filled with stories of Imams implementing their political Jihadi Shariah in the United States of America. The fact that there have been cases in Florida of two Imams being arrested by the FBI in the last six months is a disturbing trend. Where else is this kind of suspicious activity going on?

The American people congratulate our local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies for not allowing another 9/11 type attack to take place again on our shores. We thank the FBI for arresting Imam Abu Taubah “Snitch” Robertson and making our Central Florida community safer. This reporter was very disturbed when Attorney General Eric Holder, with the possible blessing of President Obama, ceased further prosecutions of the unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation terrorist funding trial. The Holy Land Foundation trial was the largest terrorist funding trial in United States history.

It is problematic when domestic terrorists are treated like common criminals by our Justice system while we are at war with a totalitarian Islamist political ideology that is in no way compatible with our United States Constitution. It is problematic when the Orlando Sentinel does not print a story about the arrest of a local Imam by the FBI.

The first step needed domestically, is for our State Department to declare The Muslim Brotherhood a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). This one action will allow the Treasury Department and the FBI to shut down and seize the assets of every sub group operating as an arm of The Muslim Brotherhood in America. These Brotherhood sub groups were outlined in documents submitted into evidence at the Holy Land Foundation Trial.

God Bless America and God Bless our Troops - America and Israel Akbar.

Three Taliban/Al Qaeda Killed By U.S. Predator In South Waziristan

We're back on the board with three jihadis dead today in South Waziristan, Pakistan as a U.S. drone unloaded its hellfire payload into a jihadi vehicle.

The story is from The Long War Journal.

US Predators kill 3 'militants' in South Waziristan

US Predators struck today in Pakistan's Taliban-controlled tribal agency of South Waziristan, killing three "militants." The unmanned, CIA-operated Predators or Reapers fired a pair of missiles at a vehicle parked in a compound in the village of Azam Warzak. AFP claimed that the "militants" escaped the strike, but The Associated Press said three were killed in the attack.

No senior Taliban or al Qaeda operatives were reported killed in today's strike.

Today's attack occurred in an area of South Waziristan controlled by Mullah Nazir, the leader of the Taliban in the Waziri tribal areas. The village of Azam Warzak sits on the border with Afghanistan and serves as a transit point for Taliban, al Qaeda, and other terrorists heading to and from Pakistan's war-torn neighbor. Senior al Qaeda leaders are also known to shelter in Azam Warzak; a top al Qaeda financial chief is thought to have been killed in the town earlier this year. And in 2004, the Pakistani military fought the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan as well as Chechen and Arab fighters in Shin Warzak and surrounding areas.

Today's strike is the third in Pakistan's tribal areas this month, and the first in four days. The last strike, on Sept. 23, took place in North Waziristan; no senior al Qaeda or Taliban leaders have been reported killed.

So far this year, the US has carried out 52 strikes in Pakistan.

This year, an increasing number of strikes are taking place in South Waziristan. So far in 2011, 33 of the 52 strikes have taken place in North Waziristan, 17 strikes have occurred in South Waziristan, and one took place in Kurram.

Since Sept. 1, 2010, the US has conducted 113 strikes in Pakistan's tribal agencies. The bulk of those attacks have aimed at the terror groups in North Waziristan, with 86 strikes in the tribal agency. Many of the strikes have targeted cells run by the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Jihad Group, which have plotted to conduct Mumbai-styled terror assaults in Europe. A strike on Sept. 8, 2010 killed an IJG commander known as Qureshi, who specialized in training Germans to conduct attacks in their home country.

Taliban Make Statement That THEY Control the Haqqani Network....NOT Pakistani Government

In this August 22, 1998 file photo, Jalaluddin Haqqani speaks during an interview. — Photo by AP

There have been many serious accusations recently by the U.S. that the Pakistani government and the ISI in Pakistan have significant ties to the Haqqani Network which has conducted numerous high level attacks on U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan and so today, the Taliban sought to set the record straight that it is THE TALIBAN that controls the Haqqani Network....and no one else.

You'll recall that it is the Haqqani Network that is probably the number one target of the CIA's predator drone program in northwest Pakistan - whenever we see drone strikes in North Waziristan, well about 75% of those strikes are going after Haqqani Network commanders or fighters.

I'm never sure when to believe the Taliban - they lie about 50% of the time, and it may be a bit more than sheer coincidence that the Taliban are making this claim now that the Haqqanis have had another couple of highly visible strikes against high level targets in Afghanistan.

The story is from DAWN.

Taliban insists it controls Haqqanis, not Pakistan

KABUL: The Taliban took the unusual step Tuesday of insisting that it, not Pakistan, controls the Haqqani network, with Islamabad under growing US pressure to cut alleged ties with the group.

The militia advised Pakistan to prioritise “Islamic and national” interests and stand firm in the face of “America’s two-faced and implacable politics”.

“Neither are our bases in Pakistan nor do we need residence outside of our country,” said the English-language statement in the name of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan —the Taliban’s name for itself —on its Voice of Jihad website.

“All the military and civilian activities in the country are our own initiatives and our own actions.

“The respected Maulawi Jalaluddin Haqqani (the group’s founder) is (one of the) Islamic Emirate’s honourable and dignified personalities and receives all guidance for operations from the leader of the Islamic Emirate.”

Most analysts consider the Haqqani network a powerful Taliban faction loyal to Taliban supreme leader Mullah Omar, with strong ties to al Qaeda.

“Our advice to the people of Pakistan and its government is that it should deliberate on America’s two-faced and implacable politics,” said the Taliban.

“It should always give precedence to its Islamic and national interests and they should have a firm belief that America will never be happy with them until they loot all their material and moral assets.”

Egypt: Assailants blow up Sinai gas pipeline to Israel

Isn't it just "wonderful" that democracy that is going on in Egypt? I read yesterday that latest estimates are that a total of 250,000 Coptic Christians will end up fleeing the new "democratic" society in Egypt and now, we see that Egyptian terrorists have blown up a gas pipeline in the Sinai that brings the precious commodity to Israel and Jordan.

From the report at The Jerusalem Post:

Unknown assailants blew up an Egyptian pipeline in Sinai on Tuesday that supplies Israel and Jordan with gas, security sources and witnesses said.

A witness told investigators he saw three men jump out of a small truck at a pumping station in an area known as al-Maidan, southwest of the city of el-Arish, and open fire on the pipeline, the security sources said.

This was followed by a large explosion heard across the city and witnesses said 15-meter high flames could be seen shooting up from the pipeline.

A local hospital said one man was admitted with burns from the blast, which also set olive groves and shacks in the area on fire. Fire brigades were bringing the flames under control after the company operating the pipeline cut off the gas supply.

The incident marked the sixth such attack on the pipeline since former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak was ousted in February.

The last attack occurred in July when men with machine guns in a small truck forced guards at a station out and blew it up.

I wonder...do you suppose Egyptian authorities will even pursue an investigation of this? Or will there be a celebration in Tahir Square this weekend paying tribute to this act of heroism?

The fact of the matter is this - there is a Muslim Brotherhood faction in Egypt that is more radical than in any other nation on earth - this faction has long been against any kind of relations with Israel and now that they have an open society to act, they will be hellbent on trying to create a showdown between Egypt and Israel. These are the terrorists who are willing to see tens of thousands of people in th Middle East killed in order to see Israel brought to the brink. But hey, this is what Barack Hussein Obama heralded as the people gaining their freedom.

Right?

The last attack occurred in July when men with machine guns in a small truck forced guards at a station out and blew it up.

The extent of the damage caused by Tuesday's blast and the effect on gas supplies to Israel and Jordan was not immediately clear.

Egypt has been trying to charge Israel and Jordan more for its gas after complaining that prices fixed during Mubarak's rule were below market rates.

The pipeline is run by Gasco, Egypt's gas transport company which is a subsidiary of the national gas company EGAS.

The Egyptian armed forces launched a security operation in Sinai in August to root out hundreds of suspected militants believed to be behind some of the attacks on the pipeline and police compounds in the peninsula.

Security sources said then that they had captured a group of four Islamist militants as they prepared to blow up the gas pipeline in el-Arish.

British Terror Plot Details Come Out, Six Arrested Last Week Linked To Al Qaeda in Pakistan

Once again, the British have dodged another bullet. Does anyone in their right mind still think that the radical islamists in Britain who are generally ALL from Pakistan ...either originally or by blood...aren't going to continue this until they have thousands of dead Brits?

Last week, the British authorities arrested six British men and a woman on suspicion of terror activity and now the details are coming out and the fact that this cell is linked to al Qaeda in Pakistan better wake some people up.

From the report at The Long War Journal:

Six British men who were detained during raids in Birmingham last week have been linked to an al Qaeda cell in Pakistan, and were planning to carry out suicide attacks. One additional suspect is being questioned by British authorities in connection with the plot.

Last week, six British men of Pakistani origin and a woman were arrested during an intelligence-driven counterterrorism operation led by the UK's West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit [see Threat Matrix report, UK terror sweep nets 7 suspects]. Few details were known about the suspects or the terror plot at the time of the arrests, but as the suspects are scheduled to appear in West London Magistrates Court on Monday, more information has become available.

The purported terror cell is believed by security sources to be a part of an al Qaeda suicide bomb plot under the direction of terrorist leaders in Pakistan, according the BBC. Prior to the arrests, the suspects had been under MI5 surveillance for "several weeks," and phone conversations were recorded that led officials to believe the cell was moving toward executing the plan but had "not yet reached the goal line."

Ashik Ali, 26, and Irfan Nasser, 30, are accused of orchestrating a bombing campaign in which Ali had stated his intention to carry out a suicide attack.

Along with Irfan Khalid, 26, Irfan Nasser has also been accused of preparing for an act of terrorism, and the two men are alleged to have traveled to Pakistan for terror training and received guidance on bomb making. They are also said to have made a martyrdom film in connection with the plot.

Rahin Ahmed, 25, is accused of fundraising to support the planned terror attacks as well as helping others travel to Pakistan for terror training.

Mohammed Rizwan, 32, and Bahader Ali, 28 (Ashik's brother), are both charged with withholding information since July 29, 2011 that could have prevented the planning of a terrorist act.

A seventh man, 20, was arrested on Thursday and continues to be questioned by authorities for his role in the plot. Under UK terror law, officers have until Sept. 29 to continue questioning the man before he has to be charged or released.

You can see by the results here how damn important the surveillance that M15 is doing really turns out to be. The issue in Britain is that they are probably just scratching the surface for these dogs that are plotting dozens of these attacks but at the same time, I gotta give the Brits some real credit in that they have nabbed a good number of these guys before they've been able to act.

Now, whether real sentences are handed down in this remains to be seen. I suppose the death sentence is too much to ask for?

UK terror sweep uncovers suicide bomb plot

The status of the woman who was detained last week has not been disclosed. Last week, it was reported that the woman was being held under Terrorism Act 2000 for failing to disclose information relating to the plot.

Of the 14 homes searched by police, one belonged to Mohammed Irfan. In 2008, Irfan was sentenced to four years in prison for plotting to kidnap a British soldier and behead him "like a pig," live on the Internet. He was released after serving less than two years and was not rearrested in connection with this case.

While the location of the training camp in Pakistan that was attended by Khalid and Nasser has not been disclosed, Western jihadists are known to train in the Mir Ali and Datta Khel areas in Pakistan's Taliban-controlled tribal agency of North Waziristan. And a jihadist who was set to become the head of the so-called Islamic Army of Great Britain, an al Qaeda branch, was killed by unmanned US strike aircraft in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan on Sept. 8, 2010 [see LWJ report, British, German jihadists involved in Europe plot killed in Predator strikes].

Abdul Jabbar, the short-lived leader of the Islamic Army of Great Britain, was said to have been present at a meeting attended by more than 300 jihadists, including members of al Qaeda and the Taliban, several months before he was killed. At that meeting, he was appointed the leader of the Islamic Army of Great Britain and was tasked with carrying out terror attacks in Britain, France, and Germany, using assault rifles and suicide vests.

Jabbar had earlier survived a drone strike on a militant training camp run by Hafiz Gul Bahadur, a commander allied with the Haqqani Network, an Afghan Taliban faction considered one of the most effective forces battling Western troops in Afghanistan.

The False "Palestinian" Claim To Land

Anyone that may have listened to my BlogTalkRadio show this past weekend that dealt with the so-called "palestinians" will have heard a clip of Gadi Adelman describing the history of those so-called palestinians and exactly the truth behind how they came to live where they currently reside. It's important that we all know the truth and sift through a string of lies about these people that have been perpetuated for decades. When you consider that the so-called palestinians have NO RIGHT to any land in that region, it shoots down every argument that they have.

The article below from Family Security Matters has Adelman giving even more detail on that history of the region and just how the world has been snowed by all of the Arabs in the region. Those of you that follow this blog know the myriad of tactics that jihadis use to accomplish their goals - they will suicide bomb a school full of children, they will bomb a mosque, they will create an organization disguised as a relations council, they will put a member in Congress, and yes, they will infiltrate the highest offices of a government....and this article shows that they will certainly perpetuate a sob story for a group of misfits based on lies in order to turn the world against their defined enemy....Israel.

Tearing down the legitimacy of the so-called "palestinian right" is key to exposing the lie that has hung over the Middle East for decades.

Palestinian Nationhood: Truth... The Key to Peace

September is here in the midst of the "Arab Spring", the month that I have been writing about and speaking about on my radio show for months. The Palestinian Authority (PA) has entered its application for Statehood with General Ban Ki-moon and the UN.

The announcement came from PA President Mahmoud Abbas as he addressed the UN this past Friday. Why the "President" of a non-existent country should even allowed to address the UN can be answered with two words: Yasser Arafat.

On October 14, 1974, the United Nations invited Yasser Arafat, then Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization, to address the General Assembly, pursuant to General Assembly resolution 3210. Arafat was the first representative of a non-governmental organization to address a session of the UN General Assembly. He was also the first leader to address the UN while wearing a holster, although contrary to stories, it did not contain a gun.

Not long after, the PLO was given observer status and the UN recognized the rights of the Palestinians to self-determination in Resolutions 3236 and 3237.

Yes, the PLO, the same organization that spawned such groups as Fatah, Black September, Tanzim and Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade. The same organization that was responsible for hundreds of bombings, hijackings, assassinations as well as other known terror acts. These included the killing of the 11 individuals that made up the entire Israeli Olympic team and their coaches in Munich in 1972, the murder of Cleo Noel, American ambassador to Sudan, in 1973, as well as the 1985 hijacking of the Achille Lauro cruise ship which resulted in the murder of wheelchair-bound Leon Klinghoffer.

What I consider to be an important side note, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade also claimed responsibility for the November 1975 bombing in Jerusalem, an attack that I survived and which claimed the lives of 7 children.

After October 1974 and Resolution 3210, we saw the “leaders” of the PLO and later the Palestinian Authority (PA) address the UN General Assembly time and again. Friday’s address was far removed from those in the past. This time PA leader Mahmoud Abbas, told the UN and the world,

“We aspire for and seek a greater and more effective role for the United Nations in working to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in our region that ensures the inalienable, legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people as defined by the resolutions of international legitimacy of the United Nations.”

“International legitimacy”, in other words, an independent state or country. Abbas laid out five points during his speech. The first point was, in part,

“The goal of the Palestinian people is the realization of their inalienable national rights in their independent State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital, on all the land of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, which Israel occupied in the June 1967 war…”

During the Six Day War in 1967 Israel captured land through battles and bloodshed. That land later became known as the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. But whose land was this? Was this a state or country known as Palestine? No. The West Bank was part of Jordan and the Gaza Strip was part of Egypt.

That was not the only land that Israel captured. In addition they captured the Golan Heights which was a part of Syria. So why are the so-called Palestinians not also asking for the Golan Heights? Because the Golan was never a refugee camp of displaced people.

On December 9, 1917, as the First World War was winding down, Jerusalem surrendered to the British forces. Two days later General Allenby entered Jerusalem. This marked the end of four centuries of Ottoman-Turk rule (the Ottoman Empire) and the beginning of thirty years of British rule, otherwise known as the British Mandate.

The mandate system was established in the League of Nations (the forerunner to the UN) by Article 22 which was formulated at the Paris Peace Conference between January and June 1919. Article 22 stated in part,

To those colonies and territories which as a consequence of the late war have ceased to be under the sovereignty of the States which formerly governed them and which are inhabited by peoples not yet able to stand by themselves under the strenuous conditions of the modern world, there should be applied the principle that the well-being and development of such peoples form a sacred trust of civilization and that securities for the performance of this trust should be embodied in this Covenant.

To put it in to simple terms, the territories would be entrusted to advanced nations until such time as the local population could handle their own affairs. This was all incorporated into the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919.

At the end of the British Mandate, on November 29, 1947, the UN General Assembly, by a two-thirds vote (33 to 13 with Britain and nine others abstaining) passed Resolution 181 partitioning Palestine into two states, one Jewish and one Arab. Yes, that is fact. One Jewish, which would later become Israel, and one Arab.

The Jews of Palestine accepted this partition despite the small size and strategic vulnerability of the proposed state. Additionally this proposed territory was one tenth of the original size that had been promised as a Jewish homeland.

As soon as the vote was announced, the Arab delegations of Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Yemen stormed out, threatening war and the annihilation of all Palestinian Jews. The Arab national movement in Palestine, as well as all of the other Arab states, rejected any partition. They demanded the entire country and threatened to resist the partition by force.

So we need to explain how Trans-Jordan (known today as Jordan) figures in to all this. According to the website History of Nations,

At the end of World War I, the League of Nations as the mandate for Palestine and Transjordan awarded the territory now comprising Israel, Jordan, the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem to the United Kingdom. In 1922, the British divided the mandate by establishing the semiautonomous Emirate of Transjordan.

It must be stressed here that the White Paper (also known as the Churchill White Paper) stated that the Balfour Declaration could not be amended and that the Jews were in Palestine by right. It partitioned the area of the Mandate by excluding the area east of the Jordan River from Jewish settlement. The land was 76% of the original Palestine Mandate land. It was renamed Transjordan and was given to the Emir Abdullah by the British.

A British memorandum that was presented to the League of Nations on September 16, 1922, stated that the provisions of the Mandate document calling for the establishment of a Jewish national home were not applicable to the territory known as Trans-Jordan, thereby severing almost 80% of the Mandate land from any possible Jewish Homeland.

It amazes me that the world forgets the fact that the Arab demands for a state or a “Palestine” were already satisfied once, it’s called Jordan.

The British divided the mandate establishing Trans-Jordan, but that is also how the West Bank and its “refugees” enter the picture.

Once the Arabs rejected the partition of Palestine, the surrounding Arab nations told the Arabs of Palestine to flee due to the impending war. Many went to Trans-Jordan. Again, according to the History of Nations website,

Transjordan was one of the Arab states which moved to assist Palestinian nationalists opposed to the creation of Israel in May 1948, and took part in the warfare between the Arab states and the newly founded State of Israel. The armistice agreements of April 3, 1949 left Jordan in control of the West Bank and provided that the armistice demarcation lines were without prejudice to future territorial settlements or boundary lines.

In 1950, the country was renamed the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to include those portions of Palestine annexed by King Abdullah. While recognizing Jordanian administration over the West Bank, the United States maintained the position that ultimate sovereignty was subject to future agreement.

“The armistice agreements of April 3, 1949 left Jordan in control of the West Bank”, so, the West Bank was part of Jordan from 1949 until 1967. It was during this time period that Jordan set up “refugee camps” for the Palestinians because they were not “Jordanians”.

There are many reasons as to why Jordan created these refugees in camps, but simply explained, according to Wikipedia,

At the time, the population east of the Jordan River contained over 400,000 Palestinian refugees who made up one-third of the population of the Kingdom; another third of the population was Palestinians on the West Bank. Only one third of the population consisted of the original inhabitants of Trans-Jordan, which meant that the Jordanians had become a ruling minority over a Palestinian majority. This proved to be a mercurial element in internal Jordanian politics and played a critical role in the political opposition. Since the 1950s, the West Bank had become the center of the national and territorial aspects of the Palestinian problem that was the key issue of Jordan's domestic and foreign policy. According to King Hussein, the Palestinian problem spelled "life or death" for Jordan and would remain the country's overriding national security issue.

In reality, the West Bank was Jordan, yet Jordan is not asking Israel for that area back. That is because in 1988, Jordan renounced all claims to the West Bank. It did not want to deal with the “Palestinian” issue yet again.

The same holds true for the Gaza Strip, once an area belonging to Egypt. Once again, we must look at the UN 1947 partition plan. The United Nations 1947 partition plan allotted the coastal strip from Yavneh to Rafiah on the Egyptian border to be an Arab state. But remember the Arabs rejected that offer.

In 1948 before the Arabs attacked the newly formed Israel, most Arab inhabitants in Gaza fled or were expelled, settling around Gaza City. The Israeli Defense Forces captured Gaza in 1948, but Israel gave control of the Gaza Strip to Egypt in negotiations, keeping the towns of Ashdod and Ashkelon. In 1956, Israel again went to war with Egypt and captured Gaza yet again, only to return it again.

When Israel returned the entire Sinai Peninsula to Egypt as part of their peace agreement in 1979, Egypt refused to take the Gaza Strip back. Again, these “people” were not really Egyptians and therefore were not wanted.

These are the facts and they had to be explained. Too many people have no clue how we have gotten to this point. As clear as Netanyahu’s speech was, it did not explain the facts leading up to today.

So now Gaza is somehow Israel’s problem even though Israel left Gaza in 2005. As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained in his UN speech shortly after Abbas spoke,

“We withdrew from Lebanon in 2000 and from every square inch of Gaza in 2005. That didn't calm the Islamic storm, the militant Islamic storm that threatens us. It only brought the storm closer and made it stronger.”

Netanyahu did address the problem with territorial compromises,

“Now, some argue that the spread of militant Islam, especially in these turbulent times -- if you want to slow it down, they argue, Israel must hurry to make concessions, to make territorial compromises. And this theory sounds simple. Basically it goes like this: Leave the territory, and peace will be advanced. The moderates will be strengthened; the radicals will be kept at bay. And don't worry about the pesky details of how Israel will actually defend itself; international troops will do the job.”

“These people say to me constantly: Just make a sweeping offer, and everything will work out. You know, there's only one problem with that theory. We've tried it and it hasn't worked. In 2000 Israel made a sweeping peace offer that met virtually all of the Palestinian demands. Arafat rejected it. The Palestinians then launched a terror attack that claimed a thousand Israeli lives.”

“Prime Minister Olmert afterwards made an even more sweeping offer, in 2008. President Abbas didn't even respond to it.”

He went on to state facts about what happens each time Israel gives land for peace,

“Hezbollah and Hamas fired thousands of rockets against our cities from the very territories we vacated. See, when Israel left Lebanon and Gaza, the moderates didn't defeat the radicals; the moderates were devoured by the radicals. And I regret to say that international troops like UNIFIL in Lebanon and UBAM in Gaza didn't stop the radicals from attacking Israel.”

“We left Gaza hoping for peace. We didn't freeze the settlements in Gaza, we uprooted them. We did exactly what the theory says: Get out, go back to the 1967 borders, dismantle the settlements.”

He explained the fact of what happened to the PA in Gaza when Israel withdrew,

“But ladies and gentlemen, we didn't get peace. We got war. We got Iran, which through its proxy Hamas promptly kicked out the Palestinian Authority. The Palestinian Authority collapsed in a day -- in one day.”

He spoke about the fact of weapons,

“President Abbas just said on this podium that the Palestinians are armed only with their hopes and dreams. Yeah, hopes, dreams and 10,000 missiles and Grad rockets supplied by Iran, not to mention the river of lethal weapons now flowing into Gaza from the Sinai, from Libya, and from elsewhere.”

When it came to the rights of Arabs in Israel, he again spoke in facts,

“The Jewish state of Israel will always protect the rights of all its minorities, including the more than 1 million Arab citizens of Israel. I wish I could say the same thing about a future Palestinian state, for as Palestinian officials made clear the other day -- in fact, I think they made it right here in New York -- they said the Palestinian state won't allow any Jews in it. They'll be Jew-free -- Judenrein. That's ethnic cleansing. There are laws today in Ramallah that make the selling of land to Jews punishable by death. That's racism. And you know which laws this evokes.”

The Palestinian Authority refuses to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, how can Israel be expected to make peace with a neighbor that refuses to recognize them? Netanyahu spoke of this as well,

“Ladies and gentlemen, last year in Israel in Bar-Ilan University, this year in the Knesset and in the U.S. Congress, I laid out my vision for peace in which a demilitarized Palestinian state recognizes the Jewish state. Yes, the Jewish state. After all, this is the body that recognized the Jewish state 64 years ago. Now, don't you think it's about time that Palestinians did the same?”

He explained the fact that the problem is not settlements while pointing out with Abbas’s very own words that the issue is Israel and not the “territories”.

“President Abbas just stood here, and he said that the core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the settlements. Well, that's odd. Our conflict has been raging for -- was raging for nearly half a century before there was a single Israeli settlement in the West Bank. So if what President Abbas is saying was true, then the -- I guess that the settlements he's talking about are Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jaffa, Be'er Sheva. Maybe that's what he meant the other day when he said that Israel has been occupying Palestinian land for 63 years. He didn't say from 1967; he said from 1948. I hope somebody will bother to ask him this question because it illustrates a simple truth: The core of the conflict is not the settlements. The settlements are a result of the conflict.”

Lastly he offered Abbas and the PA to sit down once again,

“In two and a half years, we met in Jerusalem only once, even though my door has always been open to you. If you wish, I'll come to Ramallah. Actually, I have a better suggestion. We've both just flown thousands of miles to New York. Now we're in the same city. We're in the same building. So let's meet here today in the United Nations. Who's there to stop us? What is there to stop us? If we genuinely want peace, what is there to stop us from meeting today and beginning peace negotiations?”

I am sad to report the fact that, once again, Abbas has failed to respond.
