Obama is, in fact, America's first black President, but he may well be America's LAST black President.

Why?

Racism.

No, I don't mean the practice of racism, I mean, instead, the CLAIM of racism.

We've had 5 years of abject failure by the Obama Administration and a refusal by the democrats to take responsibility for the crashing and burning of their progressive agenda. They continually blame racism for Obama's failure.

If one even disagrees with Obama's direction, he/she is promptly called a racist.

Well, we are sick of it. We have had it up the the gunwales and then some. So, we're not going there again, for a very long time, if ever.

Look. We gave it a chance. In fact, America bent over backwards to accommodate a black president. Many of us think, myself included, we bent way too far.

Obama's Administration was to have been a "feel good" presidency for the political left. They could point to a black man in the White House with vest busting pride and stroke each other over their open-mindedness and their diversity and all the leftist hogwash they regularly spew through the left wing propagandists in the mainstream media.

On inauguration day, 2009, they immediately circled the wagons around Obama with the intention of defending him ... no matter what.

Well, it has now been five very long years of "no matter what." Yes, they are STILL defending him, but they have grown weary, and their jobs are now endangered as a result of their unquestioning loyalty to an obvious Marxist president. The jobs of the press corp are not so much endangered as are the jobs of the democratic legislators in the Congress.

The press can bleed readers and subscribers for a fairly long time before having to cut their losses. Politicians can't bleed voters in like manner. In the past couple of weeks the democrats have been hemorrhaging voters. Thus their throat constricting fear.

As Election 2014 hoists itself over the horizon, panic has seized the hearts of many, if not most, of the democrats in the US Senate and the House. With good reason.

Americans are fed up.

It takes a lot to stoke the spark of rebelliousness in Americans. We put up with Great Britain a long while before rising up and throwing off the king's yoke. Once the American passion for freedom has been fanned into a flame it soon grows into a firestorm.

The democrats are staring down the barrel of a fiery maelstrom straight out of Hell itself ... and they know it!

Those on the right -- AND the left -- no longer feel constrained and are speaking boldly against America's first black President's lies and broken promises, promises not made in good faith to the American people.

In the past few days as I watched and listened to the democrats railing against their very own Obamacare law, William Shakespeare's words as spoken by Hamlet's mother, Queen Gertrude, rolled through my consciousness: "The lady doth protest too much, methinks." (Hamlet, act III, scene II) The democrats words sound hollow and insincere as did the words of the Player Queen to whom Hamlet's mother was referring.

One must wonder how all this sniping and back-biting -- and a few flat-out frontal attacks by those who have spent the greater part of the past five years defending him must feel to our deeply narcissistic leader. Obama's skin may be black, but it is seriously and legendarily thin.

Obama and his supporters would do well to remember that no matter what they may call it, this is NOT racism. It is POLITICS and it is a bruising, bitter, blood sport when played in the American political arena.

Black politicians, especially those interested in running for the highest office in the land, should learn that as long as they have coattails their fellow politicians (of the same political persuasion) will happily ride them to acclaim and even victory. BUT -- stumble so that it reflects badly upon them and they will happily hang you with those very same coattails and leave you swinging to and fro in the wind. Mr. Obama has to be feeling the falling away of the many layers of protective insulation he has enjoyed for five years now. It cannot be a pleasurable feeling.

So, our advice to any black politician considering running for President of the United States: insist that your followers, your supporters, your entourage, never allow the word racism to pass their lips. Americans having endured eight years of that lame excuse will not even allow the shadow of that politician to fall upon them.

As I said above -- we've had it with being slammed by accusations of racism when it is noting more than good ole American politics.

Rep. Andre Carson Has Some Explaining To Do About Louis Farrakhan

We've all heard the audio time and time again about what Rep. Andre Carson said about the Tea Party and Tea Party Congressional representatives...if you've forgotten, here's the quote:

Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me ... hanging on a tree.”

Well, after that racist shot across the bow, American Thinker has put up an interesting article about the past of Andre Carson - you'll recall that Carson was the second Muslim to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and we now are finding out that his ties to Nation of Islam racist, Louis Farrakhan, are and were a bit deeper than old Andre let on to:

The anti-Semitic Nation of Islam leader who called white people "devils" told mourners at her funeral in 2007 "I was with her in her discipleship."

Farrakhan's presence in the grandmother's life came to a head during her eulogy (on video) when the minister endorsed Andre's bid for the dead woman's congressional seat. "She lives in Andre," he said "she wants him to succeed her."

Carson, 33, said today in a phone chat that he was influenced, as a teen-ager, by the biography of Malcom X, and by NOI members and an offshoot group, the Five Percent Nation or the Five Percenters. Both the NOI and the Five Percenters were active in Indy, trying to clean up its mean streets during the 1980s and 1990s.

Carson grew up during hip hop culture when many rappers were members of the Nation or sympathizers. Music was a vital part of his identity as a youth, he said.

Now, I have pointed out many times here the pure hatred that comes out of Louis Farrakhan - both racist statements about whites and also anti-semitic vitriol. And you can see that this is the setting of Carson's youth - the influence is unmistakeable.

So, the next time you start to throw out some racist bombshells there al-Carson, perhaps you should clean out your own racist house. Right?

It should be no surprise the representative from Indiana's 7th district fabricated racial incidents in 2010 and used KKK imagery last week to smear the Tea Party. Indiana Congressman Andre Carson learned how to race-bait for votes early on. Although not the only Congressional Black Caucus bigot playing the race card, Carson comes with a special set of familial baggage.

Carson quickly distanced himself from Farrakhan in order to secure his political future. There were calls from local media to explain why the NOI leader was allowed to speak at Julia's service. Jewish and Christian constituents wondered whether Carson himself was a "Louis Farrakhan Muslim." The soon-to-be congressman tried to reassure potential voters that his conversion to Islam in the mid-1990's involved many different influences.

Like every other human being, I have various faces. I am multifaceted.

After the funeral Julia Carson's connection to Farrakhan led to questions concerning Andre's affiliations. In a "phone chat" with sympathetic blogger Ruth Holladay in January 2008, the 33-year old Carson offered up some personal history.

Carson is not a member of the Nation of Islam, he said. Nor does he attend services at a Nation of Islam mosque.

Farrakhan's presence at the funeral raised questions and had some of us wondering where Andre Carson stands..

Now he is speaking out.

Carson claims he had never met Farrakhan prior to his grandmother's funeral. He told the Star's Robert King that he knew very little about his grandmother's personal history. That seems highly unlikely as the young Carson attended the Democratic National Convention with Julia in 1984, worked on her campaigns, was heavily involved with the hip hop culture (his teenage rapper name was 'Juggernaut') and still resided in Indianapolis when Farrakhan traveled there in 1997 for a press conference. The black supremacist was joined on stage by Julia who gave the minister a big hug.

As a teen Carson admitted he was attracted by the outward appearance of NOI members walking the streets in his Near-Northside neighborhood. But eventually he asked for guidance from Imam Muhammad Siddeeq who also counseled Mike Tyson. Siddeeq, a former assistant to Louis Farrakhan, influenced Carson's conversion to traditional Islam in his early 20's. Before his move to Washington, Andre attended the Nur-Allah Islamic Center mosque in Indianapolis along with his wife Mariama Shaheed-Carson, the daughter of Marion County Superior Court judge David Shaheed. They have a young daughter, Salimah, which means "peaceful" in Arabic.

Prior to his January 18, 2008 caucus victory securing his party's special election nomination, Carson blamed Farrakhan's funeral invitation on the dying wishes of his grandmother. The situation compelled him to seek counsel from Siddeeq who told him he must honor Julia's request. Pathetically, Carson was forced to tell Party insiders gathered for his acceptance speech that day, "My last name is Carson, but I'm Andre. I'm my own man, my own person."

Carson has never been his "own man." He touts his 9-year stint as an Indiana State excise police officer but fails to mention that one of Julia's former campaign managers, Eugene Honeycutt, who led that agency at the time of Carson's (and his cousin Sam's) hiring, was accused of giving Julia's grandsons jobs over more qualified applicants. Later in 2000 Honeycutt pled guilty to accepting food, drink and sexual favors from a strip club, but denied he "ignored any excise violations" in doing so.

In 2007 Andre resigned his positions as an excise officer and with the help of his grandmother's former connections at the Center Township Trustee's Office, Andre took over Patrice Abdullah's 15th District city-council seat.

Radical hate-mongers beget radical hate-mongers. As Farrakhan said, "Julia lives in Andre." Truly, multi-generational corruption does more damage to society than isolated assaults on single human beings. By casting hateful aspersions against millions of innocent Americans because of the color of their skin, Andre continues the cycle of bigotry. So, instead of renouncing Farrakhan's tacit endorsement of his candidacy at the funeral, even after his own campaign treasurer, Erin Rosenberg, walked out in disgust, Andre employed Farrakhan's politically correct "universal language" of "humility, service," and a rejection of "hatred and bitterness."

In light of his role models, Carson's lies about the Tea Party and peaceful ObamaCare protesters outside the Capitol calling Representative John Lewis the N-word "15 times" makes sense. It puts to rest any doubt about his adherence to Farrakhan's world view. Just because Andre Carson occasionally has to throw his mentors under the bus à la Obama doesn't mean he's not a believer. As a faithful follower, he will say and do anything his masters tell him to do.

New Black Panthers are Eric Holder's "People"

Republican Congressman John Culberson (TX) accused Attorney General Eric Holder of "failing to cooperate" in the infamous case of the The New Black Panthers intimidating voters at a Philadelphia polling place in the 2008 presidential elections. Holder was offended when Culberson cited Democrat activist and Civil Rights icon, Bartle Bull's testimony about the kind of intimidation he saw that day at the polls. Holder said the comparison was an affront to "his" people who sacrificed in the 60"s. Apparently Bartle Bull, who is White and who took part in many protests during that time, doesn't have the right to an opinion because he is White and obviously not one of Holder's "people." In a series of questions and comments earlier in the hearing, Culberson insisted that race had infected the decision-making process.

Politico:

"There’s clearly evidence, overwhelming evidence, that your Department of Justice refuses to protect the rights of anybody other than African Americans to vote," the Texas Republican said. "There's a pattern of a double standard here."

Holder's reply was that he disagreed - vehemently - that there is any such evidence. But there is such evidence. There is the testimony of two people who were integral parts of the Department of Justice and the handling of the case until the social justice agenda commenced. One was transferred to the hinterlands, and the second quit because the Department was so lacking in integrity. The one who quit, J. Christian Adams said a DOJ department head stated there would be no attempt to prosecute Black wrongdoers for any kind of voter fraud or intimidation, but there was no plan to also exempt Whites for doing the same - or any other ethnicity.

In the first place, the New Black Panthers (three of them) refused to show up to court - over and over for a five month period. A default judgment was handed down. Holder refused to honor it and ordered the case dismissed. Some inside Justice were outraged, not to mention those inside Congress. One of the Black Panthers wielding a nightstick that day in Philadelphia said this:

i has waited all my life for the day that Strong Black men could stand outside a voting poll in a Honk neighborhood and beat republiKKKan voters with a baseball bat to keep the motherfu**ers from voting for they racist candidate and walk away scott free and be a hero in the black community,,,,,,,,,,and that day finally here

The New Black Panthers are Eric Holder's "people," and he will have his brand of justice for them. The lawlessness of this administration, and this so-called Justice Department is despicable.

Calling Out the Race Exploiters In America

As a member of the Tea Party, I am very aware of Lloyd Marcus and the truth he has been telling for several years now and in this article at Family Security Matters, he does a tremendous job of embarking on a mission to get in the face of the race baiters in America. We all know who these people are and we see what they have done to harm America with their tactics.

Marcus has made it his resolution to go after these lowest of the low and I heartily agree with his first two choices in the "calling out" process: Whoopi Goldberg and Jesse Jackson, Jr.

Number one, Whoopi Goldberg, black actress, comedian and political activist on The View TV show. On the program, Elisabeth Hasselbeck countered the left's allegation that vitriolic language from the right is responsible for the Arizona shooting. Hasselbeck argued that the shooter alone was responsible for his behavior. Goldberg retorted, “When I was growing up, people talking, and saying things, whipping folks up, caused a lot of people to get lynched”.

To win the argument, Goldberg subtly attempted to lay a “guilt trip” on and shut up the white person by the exploitative interjection of race into the equation. Ms Goldberg, the lynching of blacks, though tragic, is totally irrelevant to this particular incident.

Call out number two, Jesse Jackson, Jr., black Democrat member of Congress. In November, voters overwhelmingly elected republicans to get our country back to following the Constitution. In an effort to assure voters that the republicans “heard them” and to start the 112th congress off on the right track, majority leader Boehner decided to read the US Constitution on the House floor.

Jackson attempted to exploit race to stop the reading of the Constitution claiming “racial insensitivity”. Jackson said due to the struggles of African Americans, it would be too emotional for Congressional Black Caucus members to listen to the US Constitution. Please excuse my crudeness, but give me a freaking break!

For far too long, this race baiting has gone on unchecked in this country - the American people cringed from it and submitted to it out of a various number of reasons...guilt, horror and discomfort. No one, up until now, had the balls to stand up to Jesse Jackson's corporate shakedowns over race baiting or did they have the nerve to call out Al Sharpton when he ran the tables with his false accusations of racism in America.

Well, I truly hope that Lloyd Marcus is successful in his New Year's resolution. And it's time we got behind him 100% in this effort to tell the truth.

Black Tea Partier Encourages Whites to Call Out Black Race Exploiters


Along with losing ten pounds, my New Year's resolution is to “call out” black democrats, liberals and pundits who unfairly exploit race; using it as a bludgeon to “get their way”.

Unfortunately, since the election of America's first black president, black leftists and race profiteers have gorged themselves in a feeding frenzy of race exploitation. Any and all opposition to their King Obama's socialist agenda is regarded as racist.

Racism is ugly and evil. Thus, the worst thing you can call a decent person is a racist. Just as everyone fled from lepers in the Bible, everyone frantically flees from anyone alleged to be racist.

Black race exploiters are well aware of the power of playing the race card. It trumps all logic, reason and truth. Whites accused of racism typically cower in fear. Devastated and panicked, the accused white pleads, “I'll take back everything I said, give you my home and my car if you please drop your allegation that I'm a racist!”

In our current highly racially polarized America, exploiting race is despicable. As a black tea party patriot, my New Year's resolution is to call out those who use this evil tactic.

Showing some rare, I believe Tea Party Movement inspired, republican backbone, Majority leader Boehner basically told Jackson and the democrats to get over it. We will read our founding document.

Jackson responded with his race exploitation plan B. If the republicans insist on reading the darn thing, Jackson requested that they read the “original version” to highlight America's original sin of slavery rather than the amended version in which America redeems itself by ending slavery.

But wait a minute. I thought Jackson was concerned about the emotional stress of the Congressional Black Caucus hearing the Constitution. Wouldn't reading the original version which includes slavery surely send these emotionally fragile blacks over the edge?

Junior has learned well from his Master of Race Exploitation dad, Jesse Jackson, Sr.; ignore the greatness, fairness and peerless wonderful qualities of America and exploit race to portray America as evil to get your way.

Jackson's attempt to use race to bludgeon Republicans into submission was manipulative, evil and racist.

If America is to move forward, it is crucial that we no longer passively “go quietly into that good night” allowing these evil race assassins to go unopposed. We must go “on offense” and “call out” these vicious race exploiters; hold them accountable for attempting to divide Americans.

“The only thing needed for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing”.

The Jesse Jacksons of this world will continue to bludgeon the innocent with race as long as they know they will “get away with it”.

White patriots, I realize I am asking much of you to stand up to black race exploiters. The liberal media will always side with the “black attacker”. You risk being humiliated and destroyed in the media.

Folks, Freedom “ain't” free! God designed life so that anything worth having is worth fighting for. Yes, my white brother and sister patriots, you will suffer media hits for standing up for freedom. My fellow black patriots will suffer being called traitors and Uncle Toms. However, America is worth it.

Also, both political parties and the media no longer hold all of the cards. There is a powerful new sheriff in town called the Tea Party Movement who “have the backs” of all who share our values and principles and stand up for truth. So, you are not alone.

2012 is just around the corner. We have much work to do to Take Back America. Together, we will “git-r-done”.

White Liberals ... The Most Dangerous Group In Western Society?

This is a tremendous article from over at Family Security Matters written by Edmund Standing from Britain - he takes head on, the myths of multiculturalism, the evils of the white liberals and what their "racist" position really means and details exactly the threat they pose to the continuation of Western society.

This is a lengthy article and I encourage you to read it in its entirety - I won't excerpt the entire article below due to space constraints but I do want to point out a few things that I feel Standing makes clear here (these are my take on his points):

1. White liberals have a view of racism that is completely out of the realm of normal reason - for example, how can a bias towards islamists be deemed "racist?"

2. White liberals stand fast to "equality for all" yet are the first to thrown down the attack on the religious views of a majority of people.

3. White liberals have hijacked the notion of a people making informed decisions and pigeon-holed that into "discrimination" or "racism."

4. Whiter liberals simply are racists - thus, their attack on Western society is formed by their own racist ideas that are then projected on all others.

This is an important dialogue in that it finally gets down underneath the skin of the Liberal and Progressive psych - it peels away the onion and gets to the real guts of what motivates these people. When is the last time you heard anyone from the MSM actually confront an Al Sharpton and ask him directly if his reactions to certain incidents aren't because of his inner prejudice and racist views of caucasians? When is the last time a politician with a multicultural agenda was questioned about how he is actually placing more importance on the minority culture than the majority culture?

White Liberals and Politically Correct Racism

The white liberal is an unhealthy type of creature that you will undoubtedly have encountered, if not in real life, certainly via the media. By ‘liberal’, I do not mean simply someone who has a generally liberal outlook, in the sense of a ‘live and let live’ philosophy, nor do I mean liberals in the sense of the classical liberals of the conservative tradition. By ‘white liberal’, I mean a white Western individual who is likely to come from a middle class background and have a university education, considers him or herself to be both ‘left-wing’ and socially ‘liberal’, and almost certainly reads The Guardian or The Independent. White liberals espouse an artificial and pretentious form of ‘egalitarianism’, a patronising and hypocritical approach to ethnic minorities and non-Western cultures, and – in a re-hash of the notion of the ‘white man’s burden’ – devote themselves to a delusional Messianism in which they seek to ‘save the world’ through protesting against war (in real terms, protesting against non-white people having a chance at freedom and democracy), Israel (the one truly liberal society in the Middle East), globalisation (thereby opposing the one great vehicle by which poorer nations can develop), and so on, while making themselves feel and look ‘good’ by flaunting their pious support for campaigns to end poverty in the Third World (which will do no such thing, as Dambisa Moyo, Stephen Pollard, Marian L. Tupy, and others rightly point out ), and boasting about how ‘progressive’ they are by showing ‘solidarity’ with genocidal Islamists in Gaza.

White liberals, despite viewing themselves as intelligent and open-minded, are actually some of the most illiberal and narrow-minded people in society today. Their reactions to the idea that anyone might think differently to them range from gut-wrenching despair to pure hatred of the kind seen in the most fanatical of ‘true believers’. White liberals are, by and large, incapable of serious adult debate (preferring innuendo and accusations of bigotry), or of dealing with the fact that not everyone will agree with them (despite their supposed love of pluralism and a multiplicity of different ‘voices’), and tend to see any view which deviates from their cultic leftist script as a form of irredeemable moral evil. White liberals do not base their world-view on rational analysis and sensible argument, but instead on an almost religious faith that they possess the ‘truth’, and just as we see in so many fundamentalist religious cults and sects, the devotees of the white liberal faith burn with hatred for the ‘sin’ that surrounds them, and indeed, all too often for the ‘sinners’ themselves. White liberals, who are the intellectual equivalent of stroppy, rebellious teenagers, have sought to subvert and undermine Western civilisation, and some offer support for authoritarian and even terrorist movements as part of their attack on ‘racism’ and ‘colonialism’.

White liberals approach issues of race and racism from an essentially irrational, moralistic standpoint. White liberals do not simply judge racism to be based on bad thinking and criticise it for its illogical collectivism. Instead, white liberals make the issue of racism, as with other issues, all about them. White liberals have colonised the discourse of racism and anti-racism because it offers them an opportunity to boast of the superiority of their virtue and to demonstrate their purity and holiness through ostentatious and vacuous public displays of self-flagellation. Just as early Christianity imbued adherents with a deep sense of guilt and sinfulness, so the white liberal finds in reflecting on the history of white racism the opportunity to both revel in the guilt of the sinner and to make atonement through ‘anti-racist’ initiatives, thereby offering them the opportunity to further present themselves as a holy elite tasked with saving the world. And just as at various points in the history of Christianity an overarching sense of guilt derived from an intense awareness of, and obsession with, the supposedly inherent sinfulness of human beings and of the ‘world’ led ‘holy’ men and women to conclude that the path to holiness is found in the hatred of self, world, and the human condition, white liberals indulge in a form of self-hatred which is designed to project the image of penitence and sanctity, while actually being transparently pretentious, self-aggrandising, and destructive.

Taking the Issue of Race in America, Head On

Folks, I joined a Blog Talk Radio program yesterday about halfway through and I, quite frankly, have never seen ANY program tackle the issue of race in America with such direct and blatant raw intensity. The Blog Talk Radio show is The Sons of Liberty and is one of the CBMedia Network shows at BTR. The host, Brad, in my view, did a masterful job in this discussion as he hosted a panel of black activists.

Now, I feel compelled to give all of you a warning. This program, being on Blog Talk Radio, is not subject to the normal filters we see in the main stream. Racist New York Governor Criticizes The President's Terror Trial Plans

First off, let me show you a portion of an article at Alternet:

Clearly, these demonstrations of inchoate rage are about more than public policy. Former President Jimmy Carter stepped into the fray this week, stating the obvious: "intensely demonstrated animosity" toward Obama, the 39th president said, is "based on the fact that he is a black man."

This speaks to the fact that opposition to Barack Hussein Obama by anyone just HAS to be racially motivated. All over the internet you will find examples of critics of Obama and his policies being fingered as racists and that the only reason that Obama is being attacked is because of his race.

Well, President Barack Hussein Obama's policy of having the 9/11 terrorists tried in a civil court in New York City was attacked by the Governor of New York, David Paterson, yesterday. He said this (from wcbstv):

David Paterson openly criticized the White House on Monday, saying he thought it was a terrible idea to move alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other suspected terrorists to New York for trial. "This is not a decision that I would have made. So, there we have it. Another state governor who has criticized President Obama...another racist who simply doesn't want a black man to succeed in the White House. The Governor of New York state has criticized the annointed one and according to the Left, that can only be motivated by racial hatred. Governor David Paterson stands guilty....guilty of a racially motivated attack on a black President. I trust that Governor Paterson will be ostracized by the Left like his white counterparts in South Carolina, Texas and Minnesota. Surely, Governor Paterson's attack can't be legitimate just because he's black, can it?

Paterson Rips White House For NYC 9/11 Trial

Gov. David Paterson openly criticized the White House on Monday, saying he thought it was a terrible idea to move alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other suspected terrorists to New York for trial. "This is not a decision that I would have made. I think terrorism isn't just attack, it's anxiety and I think you feel the anxiety and frustration of New Yorkers who took the bullet for the rest of the country," he said. Paterson's comments break with Democrats, who generally support the President's decision. "Our country was attacked on its own soil on September 11, 2001 and New York was very much the epicenter of that attack. Over 2,700 lives were lost," he said. "It's very painful. We're still having trouble getting over it. We still have been unable to rebuild that site and having those terrorists so close to the attack is gonna be an encumbrance on all New Yorkers." Paterson also said that the White House warned him six months ago this very situation would happen. He said while he disagrees with the decision, he will do everything in his power to make sure that the state's Department of Homeland Security will keep New Yorkers as safe as possible.Republicans, including former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, have said the group should be tried in a different location under military tribunal because the attacks are considered an act of war. Instead, the five suspects will be tried at the federal court house, just steps from Ground Zero. Attorney General Eric Holder said he decided to bring the suspects, currently detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to trial in New York because of the nature of the undisclosed evidence against them, because the 9/11 victims were mostly civilians, and because the attacks took place on U.S. soil.New Yorkers are taking sides over the terror trial for the accused mastermind of the September 11 attacks. "I think it's a logistical and security nightmare for the American People," Alice Hoagland, mother of a 9/11 victim, said.Hoagland's son was a passenger on United Flight 93 when terrorists crashed it into a Pennsylvania field on that tragic day. Hoagland worries that bringing the self-proclaimed mastermind of the attacks, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, and his accomplices to New York would make the city an even bigger target – and some security experts agree. "Keeping the courthouse secure, keeping downtown secure, we've got the manpower to do that, but what we worry about is suicide bombers, something that could attract other terrorists like the ones that are being tried," Robert Strang, of Investigative Management Group, said. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the NYPD is fully prepared. "We've handled high profile events, certainly high profile trials in the past, and we'll be able to do it," Kelly said. "I am pleased that they're moving these trials to New York near the scene of the crime, giving the families that were most affected [the opportunity] to see the trials," Lorie Van Auken, wife of a 9/11 victim, said. Van Auken lost her husband, Kenneth, on September 11, and she said she'll be in the federal courtroom for the terror trial. She said the military court proceedings in Guantanamo Bay were not open enough. "It would be very assuring to me and a lot of others to see the American system of justice work," Van Auken said. Some relatives fear the suspects could be freed on a technicality that a defense attorney could challenge Mohammed's confession to planning the attacks. The government admitted to using water-boarding interrogation techniques on him 183 times in 2003. "But ultimately, the administration would not have put these five individuals into the federal system, I think, if they weren't convinced they could get a conviction," CBS News security consultant Juan Zarate said. Defense lawyers could argue that Mohammed's six years in detention have already violated his right to a fair trial. They could also challenge if it's possible to get an impartial jury in New York, where nearly 3,000 people were killed on September 11.
