Hezbollah Is Planning Coup In Lebanon If Charged In Assassination Investigation

Let's face it, that headline is nothing to laugh at - it is dead serious and the implications for the entire Middle East are immense. As we have seen, the leadership of Hezbollah has literally been freaking out since day one of the U.N.'s decision to investigate the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri. Now, the whole world knows Hezbollah did it and Hezbollah knows we know they did it. They just don't want to be called on the carpet for it. So their response? Hell, they'll just overthrow the Lebanese government!

From the article at Haaretz:

Hezbollah is planning to seize control of the Lebanese government if charged by International Court of Justice over the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri, security sources in Lebanon said on Tuesday.

The sources told the A-Sharq al-Awsat daily that the militant group, the Amal faction and other pro-Syrian elements were coordinating a coup of Beirut and southern Lebanon, which they planned to split amongst themselves.

Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah last week urged Lebanon to halt its cooperation with the inquiry into the 2005 assassination and accused its investigators of sending information to Israel, the latest escalation in a war of words over the inquiry which threatens to plunge the country into more turmoil.

Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran and Syria, stepped up its campaign against the tribunal after reports emerged in recent months that the court's prosecutor may indict members of the group sometime in the next few months.

Now, what Hezbollah seems to forget is that Lebanon isn't exactly a Shia muslim country - there are significant factions of Christians, Sunni muslim and Druze. Hezbollah certainly can't be forgetting the civil wars and skirmishes that have always been a part of Lebanon and for them to think that all of these other Lebanese peoples will just roll over for a Hezbollah coup is madness.

And what if Hezbollah did decide to try this? Where would it put Israel in the equation? Where would it put European countries and even America in regards to Lebanese Christians?

What this all points out is the spineless nature of Hezbollah. They exist each and every day to promote and perform terror on this world yet when it comes down to owning it, they quiver in the shadows like children. These aren't jihadis....these aren't men....these are cowards. These are the type to kidnap IDF soldiers and torture them and desecrate their bodies before their return to Israel. These are the cream of the crop of Satan's minions.

You want Middle East peace? Then step one is to take out Hezbollah's Nasrallah immediately - show this terrorist organization that they are in the world's sites and it is in their best interest to go back to the shadows where they belong.

Lebanon sources: Hezbollah planning coup if charged in Hariri murder

"Any call to boycott the tribunal is an attempt to obstruct justice," a representative of the tribunal said. "The Special Tribunal for Lebanon will continue to rely on the full cooperation of the Lebanese government and the international community, according to its statute."

Nasrallah's remarks came after two international investigators were forced by a crowd of women to leave a doctor's clinic in southern Beirut, a bastion of Hezbollah, where they had made an appointment to review files.

The tribunal condemned what it called an "attack on its staff" and said it would not be deterred from its investigation.
