Israeli forces attacked miltants in South Gaza today killing at least six Palestinian militants. Israeli forces suffered some troop injuries - mostly smoke inhalation due to anti tank fire. One Israeli tank was hit and caught fire and is being removed by engineers.

Large Israeli tank-APC force drives into S. Gaza clashes with Palestinian early Tuesday. Six armed Palestinians killed
First three were members of the pro-Iran Jihad Islami military arm. Four Israeli soldiers suffered minor injuries, mainly from smoke inhalation.
On a mission to arrest Palestinian terrorists in the sector between Khan Younes and Rafah, the Israeli armored force encountered heavy anti-tank fire, including RPGs and explosive devices, which hit several armored personnel carriers. One tank caught fire. The operation continues under fire. Military engineers with helicopter support are working to extricate the damaged tank as the operation continues under heavy Palestinian fire.
