U.S. Apache Attack Helicopters Chase Haqqani Network Taliban INTO Pakistan, Rout Them Killing 30+

Whoa! I do believe this is a first. The first time I have ever seen that U.S. apaches have actually crossed into Pakistani territory on an attack mission saw the air support kill at least 30 Haqqani Network Taliban yesterday - the report is confirmed by U.S. officials. Bloody awesome!

Here's the details from the report at DAWN:

US attack helicopters have killed more than 30 people inside Pakistan, diplomatic sources told Dawn on Sunday.

US military sources say that all 30 – killed during a hot pursuit on Friday – were Haqqani Network fighters.

The militants, the sources said, had attacked Combat Outpost Narizah, an Afghan base eight miles from the Pakistani border in Tani district of Khost.

US forces repelled the attack and pursued the militants to their post just across the border in North Waziristan.

“An air weapons team in the area observed the enemy fire, and following Inter-national Security Assistance Force rules of engagement, crossed into the area of enemy fire,” the International Security Assistance Force stated in a press release.

“The Isaf aircraft then engaged, killing more than 30 insurgents.”

Isaf confirmed that the helicopters struck at the Haqqani Network fighters in Pakistan.

I had this story up on Saturday but the information in that report was that the attacks by U.S. apaches was in Lagham province in Afghanistan...obviously, the FOB attack by the Haqqanis was in Khost and the actual death of the jihadis happened inside of Pakistan - a major, major detail that has now come out.

But what a great message this sends to the Haqqanis and the Taliban in general .... your old tactic of hitting one of our FOB's and then running like cowards back into Pakistan isn't gonna fly, boys....we're gonna chase ya, and hunt ya, and kill ya.

This is exactly the reason why we have seen the kind of UAV strikes this past month in North Waziristan - because that agency in Pakistan is still filled with Taliban and they are not afraid of coming into Afghanistan to attack U.S. and NATO forces...well, at least they weren't afraid until yesterday. :)

US copters kill 30 inside Pakistan

WASHINGTON: US attack helicopters have killed more than 30 people inside Pakistan, diplomatic sources told Dawn on Sunday.

US military sources say that all 30 – killed during a hot pursuit on Friday – were Haqqani Network fighters.

The militants, the sources said, had attacked Combat Outpost Narizah, an Afghan base eight miles from the Pakistani border in Tani district of Khost.

“The Isaf aircraft then engaged, killing more than 30 insurgents.”

Isaf confirmed that the helicopters struck at the Haqqani Network fighters in Pakistan.

The attack helicopters launched their attack “after following the proper rules of engagement under inherent right of self-defence,” Master Sergeant Matthew Summers, a public affairs official, told reporters.

On Saturday, Isaf launched a second attack against the Haqqani Network, after taking fire in the border area. “Several additional insurgents” were killed in that attack.

The assault on Combat Outpost Narizah is the sixth against outposts in eastern Afghanistan since the end of August.

The US claims that the Haqqani Network is based near Miramshah in North Waziristan, and has close ties to Al Qaeda and other Pakistani and Central Asian militant groups.

US officials say that Isaf forces are permitted to pursue Taliban forces across the border if they are engaged in fighting or are under attack.

They said that US and Pakistani military commanders have agreed to a set of rules for hot pursuit, which says that US forces must be engaged with the Taliban or Al Qaeda as they cross into Pakistan.

US forces, however, not penetrate more than six miles into Pakistani territory.

But they can go deeper inside Pakistan if they identify the location of Osama bin Laden, Ayman al Zawahri, or Mullah Omar.

Pakistan denies having such an agreement while US officials refuse to offer on the record comments on this issue.

Pakistani Christian Attacked and Set On Fire by Islamists, His Wife Raped By Responding Police

Good grief...it's been awhile since I've seen a story of this magnitude of horror. The crux of the attack was this - a Pakistani Christian man and his wife were attacked outside of police headquarters by islamists enraged that he and his wife would not convert to islam. The islamists resorted to setting the man on fire and when the police actually responded...well, they decided to join in by raping the man's wife.

Unfathomable. From the story at BareNakedIslam:

The persecution of Christians in Pakistan is becoming very brutal and very deadly. A Christian man in Pakistan’s Punjab province is literally fighting for his life after Muslim leaders, backed by police, burned him alive for refusing to convert to Islam while his wife was raped by police officers.

CURRENT The name of the man is Arshed Masih, and according to reports Islamic radicals tried to burn him alive right in front of a police station in the city of Rawalpindi. So did the police do anything to protect the Christian man? No, the police were too busy raping his wife. Now 80 percent of his body is burned and he is struggling to stay alive.

Sorry to say folks but the stories of Christians being persecuted across the globe by muslims is at an all time high - it's like feeding frenzy in shark infested waters.

Pray for this man that he might live...pray for his wife so she may heal.

(Hat Tip: Kirly)

PAKISTAN: Christian man burned alive, wife raped by police, because they refused to convert to Islam

One of the saddest things is that their 3 children (ranging in age from 7 to 12) were reportedly forced to watch the attacks on their parents.

So how did this all come about? Well, it is alleged that in January Islamic leaders in the area asked Arshed to convert to Islam with his whole family.

After Arshed refused their request, the group of Islamic leaders reportedly threatened him with “dire consequences”. Apparently they were quite serious. But this is just the latest in a serious of vicious attacks on Christians in Pakistan recently.

For example, a World Vision office in Pakistan was attacked by Islamic gunmen recently, leaving at least five staff members dead. Another example made world headlines a while back. A Christian couple in Pakistan was sentenced to 25 years in prison for touching the Quran without properly washing their hands first.

Radical Muslims in Pakistan are quite serious about their desire to eradicate Christianity from their land. Their Scriptures call for all infidels to either convert or to perish. Pakistan is not a safe place for Christians any longer, and it most likely will not be ever again.

University of Illinois Professor Says "USA! USA!" Chant at Football Game Hurts the Feelings of Muslims, Is "White" Propaganda

You know, why don't people like professor David Green of the University of Illinois just go in to work tomorrow morning, grab a number of empty cardboard boxes, and simply empty out their desks, clear out their closet and leave? Why don't they then meet the movers at their home and sign off on the load of furniture place in a moving van and then head to the airport with that one way ticket for anywherebutnotAmerica? Just fucking leave, putz. You know, there really isn't any governmental force KEEPING you here, Mr. Green. Just get out - we won't miss your sorry ass one bit.

From the story over at StopTheACLU, we see how professor Green penned an angry letter after he was exposed to a "horrible" site at a football game - the unspeakable military jet flyover and then the horrific chanting of the crowd yelling "USA! USA!". Here's what David Green had to say after the event:

The vast majority of 9/11 observances in this country cannot be seen as politically neutral events. Implicit in their nature are the notions that lives lost at the World Trade Center are more valuable than lives lost in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and elsewhere; that the motives of the 9/11 attackers had nothing to do with genuine grievances in the Islamic world regarding American imperialism; and that the U.S. has been justified in the subsequent killing of hundreds of thousands in so-called retaliation.

The observance at Saturday’s football game was no different. A moment of silence was followed by a military airplane flyover; in between, Block-I students chanted “USA, USA.” This was neither patriotism nor remembrance in any justifiable sense, but politicization, militarism, propaganda and bellicosity. The University is a public institution that encompasses the political views of all, not just the most (falsely) “patriotic.” Athletic planners should cease such exploitation for political purposes. They might at least consider how most Muslim students, American or otherwise, would respond to this nativist display; or better, Muslims and others that live their lives under the threat of our planes, drones and soldiers.

The overwhelmingly white, privileged, Block-I students should be ashamed of their obnoxious, fake-macho, chicken-hawk chant, while poverty-drafted members of their cohort fight and die in illegal and immoral wars for the control of oil. University administrators need to eliminate from all events such “patriotic” observances, which in this country cannot be separated from implicit justifications for state-sponsored killing.

Good grief. Where do I start? Green proposes that anyone in that stadium is supposed to be focused on the feelings of muslim students there? And what the hell is this about the fact that a chant of "USA" would make muslims feel bad? Aren't they Americans? Shouldn't muslims be on their feet too....rocking with the crowd getting into the chant?

And where does this clown, this college professor, this educator who is standing each day in front of our children, get off with the insertion of the race card into his objections? He goes out of his way to point out that the crowd at the football game was "white" and "privileged." Hmmm. Let me ask you this Mr. Green. At a University of Illinois football game, there are probably close to 80,000 spectators. I'm just curious ... how did you determine that those people were "privileged?" Is it because most were white and thus all white people are privileged? Or is it because anyone that can afford the huge tuition at that University, anyone that can afford to pay the inflated salary of a college professor like you, has to be walking around with a silver spoon in their mouth?

This college professor is a perfect example of just what has to be gutted from our colleges in America. American families need to start making some sound decisions on where they send their kids - and I, for one, would be damned if I'd allow my child to sit through even one class put on by this Marxist traitor. Perhaps when the University of Illinois finds out that their enrollments are dropping like a stone, especially in the field of study put out by Mr. Green, they will come to the conclusion that no one is going to put up with this kind of extremism being imposed on our children.

Illinois Professor Says Chanting ‘USA’ is Bellicose Propaganda

Oh, you ignorant Americans with your venal patriotic chants of “USA, USA” at sporting events. Your bellicosity isn’t patriotism, it’s propaganda and lowly militarism… so says David Green, University Administrator and member of the University of Illinois Institute of Government & Public Affairs.

Green’s poisoned pen letter to American patriots was published by the Daily Illini, an “independent newspaper” at the U of I, and features every manner of attack on America.

Green’s vituperation covers the gamut of anti-Americanism: America is “imperialist,” she is unconcerned over the deaths of Muslims, America is”nativist,” and patriots are prone to “obnoxious, fake-macho, chicken-hawk” chants. In other words all that is wrong with the world is evinced in the United States of America.

The professor’s screed was short, but filled with hate for America:

Looking at the comments section finds very little support for this anti-American and not everyone at the Daily Illini are in love with this hater as an October 11 entry from 2005 shows.

But this isn’t the first time that Green went down the path of hate for the west. Green has penned many anti-American, anti-Jewish screeds over the last decade. In 2005, for instance, Green wrote a review of one of Holocaust denier Norman Finkelstein’s books that proved that Green is a supporter of Palestine Liberation Organization and is critical of the so-called Holocaust industry.

Like a well-worn hat, Green tries on the old claim that the American’s actions at abu Ghraib and “Israeli torture” are materially the same as the Nazi-generated Holocaust. In his review Green intimates that Israel perpetrates “criminal behavior” that is little different than Hitler’s.

In March Green wrote a screed on the supposed iron-fisted Israel Lobby where he also says that the U.S. is motivated solely by imperialism in its war on terror.

Green is also a member of the Champaign/Urbana chapter of Anti-War, Anti-Racism Effort and is known as a member of the Jewish Voice for Peace which absorbed Not In My Name, the latter formerly based in Chicago.

It is infuriating that this man makes his living feeding off the taxpayers of the state of Illinois. According to the CollegiateTimes.com website, Green’s 2009 salary was $36,388 of Illinois tax dollars. This is the sort of anti-American, anti-Semitic, anti-western “academic” that infests the American university system from north to south and east to west. These people are living off the taxpayers and spreading their hate every single day.

If you would like to contact Green and let him know how you feel, his office phone number is (217) 333-3231 and his email is dlgreen@illinois.edu.

North Waziristan is Turning Red With Blood, U.S. Predator Strike Kills 7 Taliban This Morning

The weekend holds true once more - as U.S. predator drones struck in North Waziristan yesterday and again this morning - this morning's strike came against a home and a vehicle in Datta Khel, which is a section of North Waziristan, and which is starting to look like swiss cheese. The strike this morning left 7 Taliban dead as doornails.

From the article at DAWN:

Suspected US drone aircraft carried out two missile strikes against a house and a vehicle near the Afghan border in northwestern Pakistan on Sunday, killing seven alleged militants, Pakistani intelligence officials said.

The US is now suspected of conducting 19 such attacks this month, the most intense barrage since the strikes began in 2004.

Most have targeted Datta Khel, part of the North Waziristan tribal area that is dominated by militants who regularly stage attacks against Nato troops in Afghanistan.

In the first strike Sunday, a drone fired three missiles at a house in Lwara Mandi village in Datta Khel, killing three suspected militants, said the intelligence officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

Minutes later, a drone fired two missiles at a vehicle in the same area, killing four suspected militants, the officials said.

You can see by the article's description just what kind of intelligence the CIA has in these strikes - they not only had the location of the Taliban fighters in the home, but also had identified the vehicle being used by the same group.

When you look at what has gone on in North Waziristan in the month of September, with the absolute regularity of these UAV strikes, it almost resembles artillery strikes - except with a precision that is leaving no one left alive. I still wonder when the Taliban in North Waziristan will start spending 100% of their time building bomb shelters deep in the ground just so they can possibly survive the weekends in Pakistan. LOL

Suspected US missile attacks kill seven

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Suspected US drone aircraft carried out two missile strikes against a house and a vehicle near the Afghan border in northwestern Pakistan on Sunday, killing seven alleged militants, Pakistani intelligence officials said.

The exact identities of the seven people killed in the attacks were not known, but most of this month's strikes have targeted forces led by Jalaluddin Haqqani, a commander who was once supported by Pakistan and the US during the war against the Soviets in Afghanistan.

Haqqani has since turned against the US, and American military officials have said his network, now effectively led by his son, Sirajuddin, presents one of the greatest threats to foreign forces in Afghanistan. Another militant commander, Hafiz Gul Bahadur, and his forces also hold sway in North Waziristan.

The US wants Pakistan to launch an army offensive against insurgents in North Waziristan, but the government has resisted. Analysts believe Pakistan wants to maintain its historic relationship with the Haqqani network, which could be an ally in Afghanistan after foreign forces withdraw.

Without a Pakistani offensive, the US has had to rely on CIA-operated drone strikes to target the network, which also has bases in eastern Afghanistan.

The 19 missile strikes this month have killed around 90 people, according to an Associated Press tally based on Pakistani intelligence reports.

US officials do not publicly acknowledge the missile strikes but have said privately they have killed several senior Taliban and al-Qaida militants in the region, which is largely out of the control of the Pakistani state.

Pakistan often criticizes the attacks as violations of the country's sovereignty, but the government is widely believed to help the US carry out the strikes. Criticism of the strikes has been more muted in recent months. -AP

Payback In Eastern Afghanistan, Coalition Forces' Air Assault Kills 30+ Taliban In Lagham Province

Some of you may remember back in August there was an operation in Lagham province in eastern Afghanistan that was executed by Afghan troops - it went very badly for them. They were ambushed by Taliban and al Qaeda and suffered pretty high losses of both army troops and police security forces.

Today....today was retribution time. Coalition forces along with Afghan troops proceeded into an area of Lagham province and when they were fired upon by Taliban and al Qaeda jihadis, all hell was turned loose from the air and the end result was over 30 Taliban dead and gone.

Let's not pretend here...this was a trap set by the ISAF forces as they lured the Taliban into firing and revealing their locations and once that had been accomplished, the air assault ensued and I'm guessing the phrase, "like fish in a barrel", was probably uttered more than once.

From the article at The Long War Journal:

A combined Coalition and Afghan force killed more than 30 Taliban fighters during an air assault in the eastern Afghan province of Laghman.

A 250-man force of Coalition and Afghan troops as well as Afghan police air assaulted into the Alishang district in Laghman to conduct "security and clearing patrols" when they took fire from Taliban forces in the area, the International Secuirty Assistance Force stated in a press release.

ISAF claimed that more than 30 "enemy fighters" were killed during the clashes, and that there were no reports of civilian casualties.

Muhammad Iqbal Azizi, the Governor of Laghman, told Pajwok Afghan News that 31 Taliban were killed; he also denied reports that civilians were killed.
I like this angle that we are taking in Afghanistan - if we or the Afghan army gets hit hard, we turn around and get in the Taliban's face soon afterwards...instead of saying "hey, let's leave that area alone for a bit."

The Taliban need to know that any victory they might enjoy, will be avenged ...and they must know there is no acre of land in Afghanistan that will allow them rest and regroup.

The offensive strategy of the Afghanistan War is evident now - we have seen a marked uptick in operations and certainly in air support being utilized. And it can't come any too soon. The Taliban are finding out that the heat has been turned up...and even though they are in Afghanistan, they know that their emergency safehouse in Pakistan is lousy....LOUSY with predator drones right now.

ISAF, Afghan forces kill 30 Taliban in air assault in eastern Afghanistan

A 250-man force of Coalition and Afghan troops as well as Afghan police air assaulted into the Alishang district in Laghman to conduct "security and clearing patrols" when they took fire from Taliban forces in the area, the International Secuirty Assistance Force stated in a press release.

Muhammad Iqbal Azizi, the Governor of Laghman, told Pajwok Afghan News that 31 Taliban were killed; he also denied reports that civilians were killed.

Local Afghans in Alishang claimed that some civilians were among those killed, and one even claimed that all of those killed were civilians. More than 200 people protested the operations, according to Pajwok.

Laghman was the scene of the Aug. 4 clash between Afghan forces and the Taliban and allied terror groups. A battalion of Afghan troops air assaulted into the Badpakh area and were stopped cold by a coordinated ambush. Thirteen Afghan troops and two policemen were killed and more than 10 were captured. At one point in the battle, the Afghan Army Corps headquarters lost communications with the battalion.

During the fighting in August, the Taliban were supported by the Lashkar al Zil, or the Shadow Army, al Qaeda's paramilitary force. One Arab and one Chechen were reported killed in the fighting in Laghman.

The Lashkar al Zil has been involved in some of the more high-profile, complex assaults in Afghanistan over the past several years, including an assault on a US outpost in Wanat in Nuristan in July 2008, the deadly ambush of a French battalion in Kabul province in August 2008, assaults on two combat outposts in Kamdesh in Nuristan in October 2009, and most recently, a sustained assault in the district of Barg-e-Matal in Nuristan in July 2010.

The Taliban and al Qaeda have been stepping up efforts in eastern Afghanistan as ISAF and Afghan forces focus on tamping down the insurgency in Kandahar and Helmand in the south, General Mohammad Zaman Mamozai, the commander of the Afghan Border Police in the east said in August. The Afghan Taliban "are being supported by other terrorist networks including Al Qaeda, Tajikistani, Chechen, and Pakistani Taliban," as well as Taliban fighters from Waziristan, Mamozai told Larawbar and BBC Urdu. According to Mamozai, the Taliban and al Qaeda fighters stage across the border in Pakistan's tribal agency of Bajaur. The top commanders are Arab, Pakistan, Chechen, or Tajiks, Mamozai said.
