Did the LA Times Actually Say Obama Was Determined Not To Mismanage the War In Afghanistan?

I want you all to look at this paragraph that comes from a propaganda piece from Doyle McManus at the LA Times about the foreign policy record of President Barack Hussein Obama:

Those policies flow from Obama's convictions about foreign policy. He came to office in the wake of mismanaged wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and was determined not to make the same mistakes. He believes our straitened finances require caution and thrift in U.S. foreign policy. To that end, he advocates modest cuts in defense spending.

Okay, Mr. McManus...let's talk about mismanaging the war in Afghanistan.  Oh, before I get to that, perhaps you need to be reminded that American bloody WON the Iraq War and that the timetable for withdrawal of our troops from that country was set by President Bush.  But back to Afghanistan...let's focus on this "mismanagement" that you discuss, Mr. McManus.  I'll provide you a simple statistic about how the War in Afghanistan was managed by two different Presidents.  See below:

U.S. Troop Deaths In Afghanistan

President Bush:  2001 thru 2008:        630 deaths

        President Obama:  2009 thru 2012:       1,491 deaths

Now, I realize that the truth hurts, Mr. McManus but it really only took me about 5 minutes to shoot your entire argument to hell.

Is there a journalist without a Marxist agenda left in this country?
