Taliban IED Hits Ambulance In Afghanistan, Pregnant Woman Being Rushed To Give Birth Killed

You know, how would you like to be the PR guy for the Taliban?  As if it's not enough that three times the Taliban have poisoned school girls at their schools across Afghanistan but now there's the shining example of an ambulance racing to the hospital with a pregnant woman ready to give birth that is hit by a Taliban IED killing the woman (and child). The total killed in the IED attack was five.

Day in and day out there's an atrocity in Afghanistan and people ask me why I'm not in favor of the withdrawal from the Afghan War.  My main reason is the fact that when the Taliban end up retaking Afghanistan, we'll have a convening of all jihadis in the world once again there but at the same time, can you imagine what it will be like for the general Afghan population during that time?

The story comes from DAWN.

Five killed in roadside blast in Afghanistan

KABUL: An ambulance struck a roadside bomb, killing a pregnant woman who was being rushed to the hospital and four of her family members, the Afghan Interior Ministry said.

The statement said the ambulance was driving on a road Monday in the northern province of Sar-e-Pul when it hit the buried explosive. It said the dead included two women and two children.

Meanwhile, an official said another four civilians were killed in an attack in the east.

Ghazni provincial spokesman Fazel Ahmad Sabawon said two women and two children died when a mortar fired by insurgents hit their home. He said the militants appeared to be aiming for a government building nearby, but missed their target. He said the incident happened in Ghazni province’s Gilan district.
