Here's the deal - last week, the Nigerian islamic terror group, Boko Haram, had a rough week with 11 of its jihadis getting the worst end of it with government troops so Boko Haram set about identifying the people that supposedly fingered the identities of their guys to authorities. Boko Haram then earmarked those 30 for execution and has so far followed through on seven of those executions.
From the report at Sahara Reporters:
Islamist militant sect Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the slaughtering of seven persons in Kawar Maila area of Maiduguri.
The sect in a release said they have earmarked 30 persons to be killed, and that they have killed seven remaining 27 who they are accusing of revealing identities of their 11 members killed by JTF last week according to a report in the Daily Trust an Abuja-based newspaper.
“We have earmarked 30 of them for execution because they betrayed our group. They exposed our 11 members who were summarily shot dead by the Joint Task Force on Saturday.
I find it telling that more and more of these African countries are now sprouting these extreme islamic groups - in some of the countries they were very tiny groups with little impact but now it seems like over night they have grown to a proportion where the very government cannot suppress them let alone eliminate them.
As we see Islam spread down the African continent, we will see more and more mass conversions as more of the people see Islam as the only hope for food and protection - the islamists are capitalizing perfectly on war torn countries that have been divided upon tribal barriers for years.
Boko Haram Claims Slaughter Of 7 Persons in Maiduguri, Plans On Killing 27 More For Betraying Sect

“We have earmarked 30 of them for execution because they betrayed our group. They exposed our 11 members who were summarily shot dead by the Joint Task Force on Saturday. Our spiritual leader, Malam Yusuf Mohammed, was arrested and detained severally and was even killed by the Nigerian security forces; we are not deterred from propagating Islam. The arrest or killing of any member of our sect will not stop us from what we are doing. That is why we visited and killed the seven people that were seen on Thursday at Kawar Maila area of Maiduguri; they were part of the 30 persons that we gathered leaked the identity of our 11 members to the security operatives who killed them last Saturday. So, we have succeed in killing seven and we are sure of killing the remaining 23 any moment from now.”
