Al Qaeda in Iraq is alive and well and surging back as witnessed today in Iraq with that terror groups pulling off multiple attacks and bombings that left 32 Iraqis dead, mostly in the city of Baghdad.

A wave of bombings and shootings across Iraq killed at least 32 people and wounded dozens more on Thursday, security officials said.
Most of the violence was centred in Baghdad, where attacks killed 22 people, an interior ministry official said.
A car bomb in the Shiite shrine district of Kadhimiya in north Baghdad killed six people and wounded 15, the official said.
In Adhamiyah, across the Tigris river, gunmen attacked a police checkpoint, killing six people and wounded three.
A car bomb exploded in the Karrada district of central Baghdad near a police checkpoint, killing one person and wounding 11, while another car bomb exploded in the same area about 30 minutes later, killing another person and wounding six.
And two roadside bombs and an attack by unknown gunmen against a police checkpoint killed two people and wounded nine in Umm al-Mualaf in southwest Baghdad.
And in Dura in south Baghdad, a roadside bomb killed two people and wounded 10.
Good lord. You talk about a spree of terror with a bit of everything in it! This coordinated carnage consisted of gunmen attacks, car bombs and IEDs. Just the other day I said that the Iraqis have generally kept order in place but today's attacks represent the latest violence just two days after the last round which is disturbing.
My question in all of this is why the Iraqi people are complicit with this planting of IEDs? I can understand some Iraqi civilians looking the other way of al Qaeda is planting roadside bombs to kill infidels like U.S. and coalition troops but these are IEDs being planted to kill the peoples' neighbors? If the Iraqi government doesn't start getting some decent intelligence coming in on these al Qaeda in Iraq fighters, they are going to see the attacks increase and the worst thing possible - more al Qaeda jihadis flocking to the country to join in the swarm.

In Diyala province, north of the capital, two car bombs exploded in the provincial capital Baquba, killing three people and wounding eight, while a roadside bomb killed one person, a police major said.
Gunmen also attacked a house west of Baquba, killing two people and wounding a third, while a roadside bomb east of Baquba wounded a man and his wife.
And a car bomb in the town of Dujail killed one person and wounded three at about 8:00 am (0500 GMT), the officer said.
In Salaheddin province further north, another car bomb exploded in the refinery town of Baiji near its courthouse at about 7:00 am (0400 GMT), killing three people and wounding five, a police colonel said.
