This is the 21st Century and the Marines are still essentially infantry in the worst measure of the word. They are only mobile on their feet. Why weren't they supported by helicopters and infantry fighting vehicles? They were unable to engage a sniper nor were they able to maneuver and envelope their enemy. They lack the equipment that we had during WWII. In WWII, a unit would have called up artillery, fighter-bombers, half-tracks and armored cars, as well as tanks.

It is damning that our Marines don't have the equipment they need.
