First off, I didn't know that a NON-STATE could have a foreign minister but apparently the Palestinians have been masquerading as an entity for long enough that they have even conjured up fake governmental officials and their supposed foreign minister has revealed that on September 20th they will officially present their bid for statehood to the United Nations Security Council.

From the report at DAWN:

The Palestinians will present their bid for membership of the United Nations on September 20, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki told AFP on Saturday.

“Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas will personally present the request to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon…at the opening of the sixty-sixth session,” on September 20, Malki said.

Abbas “will insist on this historic initiative and Ban Ki-moon will present the request to the Security Council,” he said.

Malki added that the Palestinian Authority chose September because Lebanon, which will hold the presidency of the Security Council, would be in a strong position to push the bid forward.

“Lebanon will hold the presidency of the Security Council in September and this will help us because the president of the council has special prerogatives, which is crucial,” he said.

So there we have it...a date has been set for a bunch of islamic terrorists to coerce the U.N. into granting them status as a country. And by the way, can anyone tell me how in the sam hell Lebanon ever got to a position where they are President of the Security Council??!! So, let's do a quick recap: Lebanon will be presiding over the U.N. Security Council in September, the government of Lebanon is now pretty much controlled by Hezbollah, an islamic terror group, and they will be holding the vote for whether or not their brother terror group, Hamas, gets to become a country. What could go wrong?

Well, we've got a month to get rolling people - we've got a month to snow under our representatives in Congress to fight this at the U.N. We've got a month to organize rallies and protests in New York City at the U.N. to show the world we will not stand for this. We've got a month to prepare the paperwork which will deny Mahmoud Abbas from setting foot on American soil.

Palestinians set date for UN statehood bid

RAMALLAH: The Palestinians will present their bid for membership of the United Nations on September 20, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki told AFP on Saturday.

Following the collapse of direct peace talks with Israel in September last year, the Palestinians have adopted a diplomatic strategy of looking to secure UN recognition for a state along the frontiers which existed before the 1967 Six-Day War.

Israel is adamantly opposed to such a move.

Durban 3 is the next day. This is no coincidence.
