Hamas, Shitting Bricks, Says They Are All For a Ceasefire With Israel...the PRC Says Screw It, We're Ready To Die

Many months ago I blogged about the precarious position that Hamas found itself in due to them being the governing body of Gaza - I mentioned at the time that Hamas might want to rethink having all of that power in Gaza because any attacks coming out of Gaza, no matter who carried them out against Israel, would be viewed as the responsibility of Hamas. And that is what we are seeing right now. The Peoples Resistance Committees (PRC) are the ones that carried out the terror attack on Israel the other day and one of their top commanders has already been taken out but the Israelis are pissed off and are showing their ire in JDAMs and hellfires and Hamas is literally shitting their pants. So much so, that Hamas is now asking Egypt to try and do something about getting a ceasefire in place.

Well, all I have to say about that Hamas is Egypt isn't the same Egypt you could count on before to mend your wounds and save your ass - there is no more relationship with Egypt from an Israeli point of view, dudes. I'd say, Hamas, that you are fucked.

From the report at The Jerusalem Post:

"Hamas is keen on maintaining the period of calm that has prevailed in the Gaza Strip in the past few months," a Hamas official said. He stressed that Hamas did not participate in the recent wave of rocket and missile attacks on Israel.

The official said that Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh on Saturday night phoned the head of Egypt's General Intelligence Force and urged him to intervene to secure a ceasefire with Israel.

Following intensive talks with representatives of various Palestinian groups, including Islamic Jihad, the Egyptian authorities informed Hamas leaders that a ceasefire agreement would go into effect later in the day.

However, the Popular Resistance Committees, which lost several of its leaders in an Israeli air strike last Friday, said it would not abide by any ceasefire.

Abu Mujahed, a spokesman for the group, said that the PRC would continue to defend Palestinians against "Zionist aggression, arrogance and crimes."

Let's face it...if Israel reconstitutes an Operation Cast Lead operation in Gaza, the PRC would be wiped out in 48 hours but Hamas would suffer the huge losses they caw in Cast Lead and that is why they are begging for Egypt to intervene. At the same time, there are reports that the military wing of Hamas isn't so sure they want a cease fire.

Well, I say let's have Israel reinforce what they did in Cast Lead but this time go the full mile - Netanyahu would be in charge this time around and might just not pull back like his predecessor did.

It's time, don't you think? Yes, it's time that Hamas goes the way of the dodo bird. Exterminate them, Israel. Every last one of them.

Hamas would agree to immediate ceasefire with Israel

Hamas PM Ismail Haniyeh urges Egyptian intelligence chief to secure ceasefire with Israel; Popular Resistance Committees reject notion, say "We have nothing to do with a ceasefire with the enemy."

Only a number of hours earlier, the IAF launched air strikes on Hamas military installations in the northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip. The strikes were in retaliation for the continuing rocket fire from Gaza into population centers in southern Israel, including Beersheba and Ashdod.

Nine Israelis and at least 30 Palestinians have been killed in the spike of violence that began with the multistage attack last Thursday.

I think Bibi might be growing some balls:

Minister Hints Strong Gaza Strike is Imminent

Too many troops have complained that they were pulled out too soon. That they "Didn't get to finish the job!" That is their quote not mine.

During Operation Cast Lead Hamas was almost wiped out, it was only the intervention of Barack Hussein Obama, crying that the anti-Semitic outbursts at his inauguration will destroy the day. Olmert agreed and stopped the Operation. Hamas survived.

Now will Bibi continue and escalate? Will he have the balls to defy Obama and destroy Hamas once and for all?

I pray to G-d that he does.
