Hezbollah Is Readying For War Via Southern Lebanon Buildup, IDF Shows Proof

This isn't the first time that Israel has had to prove to the world that Hezbollah has designs for war, potential IDF kidnapping attempts and weapons deployments throughout southern Lebanon. But the Hezbollah buildup this time is so extensive and so blatant that the IDF apparently decided to go public with the proof - photos have been introduced that show the Hezbollah buildup of weaponry and troops in towns and villages in close proximity of civilian homes, schools and hospitals.

From the report at Haaretz:

Israel's military on Wednesday offered evidence of what it says is a growing threat from Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, using aerial images to highlight the militants group's activities in towns and villages close to the Israeli border.

In a briefing to journalists, Israel Defense Forces Colonel Ronen Marley revealed previously classified photographs to show what he said was a unit of 90 Hezbollah militants operating in the village of Al-Hiyam, where they were storing weapons close to hospitals and schools.

"Hezbollah is establishing itself with increasing strength in the villages," Marley said. "Every day they are collecting significant intelligence on our forces along the border and every day they are engaged in digging, building and laying communications infrastructure to prepare themselves for war."

This new revelation is beyond disturbing. The tactics of Hezbollah are well known - they are masters of hiding behind civilians with their rocket launchers, they are the epitome of cowardly fighters, the apex of yellow belly assassins.

The question now is whether Israel will respond first to this threat. How much longer can the nation of Israel see the advanced weaponry of Iran creep closer to its border? At what point in time does the safety of those in places such as Tel Aviv warrant a push back into Lebanon?

Time for me to be blunt here. I've had it with Hezbollah. Every couple of years these maggots decide to try and turn the world on its ear and it's high time that western nations say enough is enough. It's way overdue for the United States, Britain, France and Germany to contact Israel and formulate a plan of attack to wipe out Hezbollah's weaponry in most of Lebanon. Granted, a warning should be given to Lebanon and Hezbollah - they get 30 days to move all weapons out of the country and if that is not done, the bombing starts.

The government of Lebanon made a decision last year that they would embrace Hezbollah - they approved the weapons that Hezbollah was bringing into the country and they place Hezbollah leaders inside the government. This is no longer a fight between Hezbollah and Israel - this is going to be a war between Lebanon and Israel and thus, towns, villages and cities are no longer off limits to Israeli attack. If you invite vermin into your house, you better be prepared for an exterminator to dust the entire house.

There is NO EXCUSE for Israel to have to shoulder this enemy to the north on its own - I realize that with Obama in charge it's a mute point but that doesn't mean that Congressional leaders in America can't come forward with a plan of battle in this matter. Iran needs to know that their terror farm club in Lebanon is going to be eliminated by a coalition of western forces and Israel.

It's time. Time to wipe the evil of Hezbollah from the map. And it's way past time that the bombing of the Marines barracks in Beirut is finally avenged.

Hezbollah readying for urban war in southern Lebanon, IDF warns

In the four years since Israel fought a month-long war with Hezbollah, the IDF had collected data on thousand of targets to be bombed by Israel in the event of renewed hostilities, Marley said.

In the last war, much of the fighting took place on open scrubland, he said. But the deployment of United Nations forces in southern Lebanon had forced Hezbollah into built up areas where troops from the international UNIFIL force have no authority.

The IDF believes Hezbollah has an arsenal of some 40,000 short and medium range rockets stored in towns and villages south of the Litani River, with many of the weapons stored in private houses.

Hezbollah also has hundreds of longer range M-600 rockets capable of striking major Israeli cities, Marley said.

The weapons are operated by a force of some 20,000 armed Shi'a Muslim militants, around a third of which have undergone combat training in Iran, available for action at short notice.

Marley said every Shi'a Muslim village had a detachment of between 30 and 200 fighters, whose task would be to hold of the advance of enemy troops into built-up areas in the event of an Israeli invasion.

Evenly spaced FAE's all the way to the Litani river should fix the problem nicely.

Israel has probably been eyeing the Litani River for a new water source for some time. They will not need help from the US or anyone else to deal with Hezbollah.

Once they booby-trap schools and hospitals, they're taut on the trigger. It's their way of donning the uniform and tying their boots to fight. The last thing they have left to do is give someone a camera to photograph the Israeli fire that reaches them.
