Great News, It Looks Like It Might Be On In Orakzai Agency, Pakistan...15 Taliban Killed

Yessss! And that's a little bit of a guarded yes because I haven't seen an "official" announcement of formal military operations in the Orakzai agency in NW Pakistan by the Pakistani government but there this report out from Breitbart that three different targeted Taliban areas were hit by Pakistani forces resulting in 15 dead and gone Taliban.

From the article:

At least 15 Islamic militants were killed and 17 others injured in an operation against Pakistani Taliban and antigovernment tribesmen in the Orakzai Tribal Agency in northwestern Pakistan, a security official said Wednesday.
The official, seeking anonymity, said Pakistan Army and paramilitary troops supported by air operations attacked three suspected hideouts of militants in region.
"The security forces are mainly targeting fugitives from North Waziristan and Bajaur hiding in Orakzai," the official said.
The complaint against the Pakistani government and military has always been that they will run a damn good operation in one province or agency and really clean it out of Taliban, only to let the majority of those Taliban seek refuge in a neighboring province or agency. Well, ever since the first operations in Swat, the Pakistani forces have done a much better of continuing the operations and now, if they truly are going to go into Orakzai, we should see some HUGE numbers of dead Taliban.

Pakistan opens new front against Pakistani militants, tribesman+

ISLAMABAD, March 24 (AP) - (Kyodo)—At least 15 Islamic militants were killed and 17 others injured in an operation against Pakistani Taliban and antigovernment tribesmen in the Orakzai Tribal Agency in northwestern Pakistan, a security official said Wednesday.
The official, seeking anonymity, said Pakistan Army and paramilitary troops supported by air operations attacked three suspected hideouts of militants in region.

"The security forces are mainly targeting fugitives from North Waziristan and Bajaur hiding in Orakzai," the official said.

The Pakistan Army had earlier carried out a major operation in the Bajaur tribal area known to have several places used by the Taliban and al-Qaida remnants to cross the border with Afghanistan.

Security forces have been preparing to launch an operation in Orakzai and the latest ground and air operation came on the eve of a coveted Strategic Dialogue between Pakistan and the United States in Washington.

Pakistan is seeking economic and military assistance from the United States, which wants stepped up cooperation from Pakistan in its wars against terrorism.
