Five Brits Sailing a Yacht To Dubai Are Captured By Iranian Navy

Pretty scant on details is this report from KUNA here but in essence, five British citizens were sailing their yacht from Bahrain to Dubai and they were picked up by the Iranian navy and are being held at this time.

The report says they "might" have strayed into Iranian waters but hell, the Iranians basically think their waters are any surface of ocean within 10,000 miles of Iran.

So, that gives five Brits in the hands of the Iranians and at the same time, the Iranians are still holding three Americans who were captured next to the Iraqi border. Hmmm...seems to me the Iranians are working on their negotiating position in regards to their nuclear program. Yes?

The five are understood to be safe and well and their families informed, Foreign Secretary David Miliband said in a statement.The sailors were crewing a boat belonging to "Sail Bahrain" when they were stopped and arrested.Meanwhile, Britain is hoping to resolve the matter quickly and peacefully, officials said.Relations between London and Tehran are strained over Irans nuclear crisis.

Exclusive: Washington’s Anti-Capitalist Strategy

Most Americans are unaware of the strategies and tactics being used today to destroy America’s free enterprise economic system by radical leftists in our government. This is understandable because America’s President and Congress – including government bureaucrats all the way down to representatives in municipal government – are using these strategies and tactics, knowingly or unknowingly, to undermine the very economic principles that have made America the most successful economy on the planet.

The strategies are those of Cloward-Piven, two Columbia University sociology professors Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Pivenwho, frustrated by the inability to turn America into a socialist state, decided to promote a strategy to force political and economic change through orchestrated crisis. They first advanced this strategy in an article titled "The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty" in the May 2, 1966 issue of The Nation.

Their article, according to DiscoverTheNetworks.org:

…called for "cadres of aggressive organizers" to use "demonstrations to create a climate of militancy." Intimidated by threats of black violence, politicians would appeal to the federal government for help. Carefully orchestrated media campaigns, carried out by friendly, leftwing journalists, would float the idea of "a federal program of income redistribution," in the form of a guaranteed living income for all -- working and non-working people alike. Local officials would clutch at this idea like drowning men to a lifeline. They would apply pressure on Washington to implement it. With every major city erupting into chaos, Washington would have to act.This was an example of what are commonly called Trojan Horse movements -- mass movements whose outward purpose seems to be providing material help to the downtrodden, but whose real objective is to draft poor people into service as revolutionary foot soldiers; to mobilize poor people en masse to overwhelm government agencies with a flood of demands beyond the capacity of those agencies to meet. The flood of demands was calculated to break the budget, jam the bureaucratic gears into gridlock, and bring the system crashing down. Fear, turmoil, violence and economic collapse would accompany such a breakdown -- providing perfect conditions for fostering radical change.

Sound familiar?

Today’s economic demands are examples of just how impossible such burdens can be: welfare, massive entitlements, union blackmail, hyper-taxation, over-regulation, inflation, environmental obstruction, global warming fraud, ethanol production, emission standards, health care takeover and Cap and Trade…on top of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and Disability…to name a few.

Their strategy has worked. Coupled with the tactics of Saul Alinsky and his Rules for Radicals, America’s financial system is being brought to its knees by the strategy of Cloward-Pliven. As an example, ACORN (the Left’s army) along with complicit government hacks forced banks to make NINJA loans to those who couldn’t afford them, compelling the government to use taxpayer money to rescue the banks. While there is lots of blame to go around, the Left played a major role in orchestrating this recession/depression following the instructions of these professors.

The current administration is an advocate of Cloward-Piven strategies and Alinsky tactics. They have deceived and manipulated the country by claiming to (1) rescue the people from the income disparity caused by the Republicans, (2) cut the budget line by line and eliminate Washington corruption then (3) appoint the most corrupt people and organizations – most if not all of them unvetted, unelected and unaccountable - to positions of power while imposing policies that will only make the people poorer.
Even some on the Left are starting to wake up to this plan to destroy capitalism and the golden egg it lays. Robert Samuelson wrote last week in the Washington Post:

"The disconnect between what President Obama says and what he's doing is so glaring that most people could not abide it. The president, his advisers and allies have no trouble. But reconciling blatantly contradictory objectives requires them to engage in willful self-deception, public dishonesty, or both.”

The actual cost, at a minimum, over the next ten years of the Obama/Pelosi/Reid takeover of your health care is $2.5 TRILLION. The cost for the next five years is $1.7 TRILLION. "The Senate Republicans' chart demonstrates that the total for all of these costs – based on CBO projections for the bill's true first 10 years – is $2.5 TRILLION. And costs would only skyrocket from there, as the chart's trajectory suggests. In the 5 years to follow (2024-28), spending on "expansions in insurance coverage" alone would be $1.7 TRILLION, making the bill's total costs in its real first 15 years well over $4 TRILLION – based on CBO projections."
The current Administration is following the destructive strategies of Cloward-Piven by designing a future where the American economy, along with health care delivery systems, will collapse and set the stage for socialism to take over.

For years, even before the Obama administration, Americans has been whistling past the grave ignoring the economic disaster of the Cloward-Piven strategies. The weapons the Left uses to push the economy into crisis are entitlements which now comprise 58 percent of our national budget. Tragically, on top of that annual burden, the Left with the help of useful idiots on the right have made $110 TRILLION dollars worth of promises to deliver future entitlement benefits in excess of anticipated receipts. True to their belief in capsizing capitalism, the Obama crowd has been proposing adding tens of trillions even to this unsustainable debt.

What makes any thinking American stark raving mad is the current wave on the Right (and in some quarters on the Left) to balance the budget to reduce the deficit. That may be the call to defeat healthcare reform, cap and trade, bailouts, etc., but it doesn’t even pinch the 800-pound gorilla in the room. America needs a sea change in policy, not a Band-Aid.

America must replace entitlements with a system that works. The present one doesn’t and the Left is driving the country right off the cliff ignoring it. As we said, Cloward-Pliven is working and, in implementing that strategy, the leftists in society are bringing down the most successful economy – and civilization - in the history of man. Why are so many standing on the sidelines content to be entertained by talking points propaganda and a clean suit?

Pakistani Security Forces Kill 61 Taliban In Khyber

Okay, the news report here from DAWN is pretty brief but it doesn't take that many words to announce that 61 Taliban jihadists were killed in Khyber and that 87 others were arrested by Pakistani security forces - yep, short and VERY sweet !

What is so encouraging in all of this is that the Pakistani military is dismissing all the fears that we had that they would simply stop their operations once they had cleared a path through South Waziristan...on the contrary....we have seen them continue to push into the other surrounding areas such as Khyber, North Waziristan and Tank. We know that much of the Taliban leadership escaped the South Waziristan offensive but it is now becoming clear that the government forces aren't going to let them rest.

ISLAMABAD: At least 61 militants were killed and 87 others, including locals, Uzbeks and Afghans, were arrested during the ongoing search operation in the Khyber tribal region, FC commandant Brigadier Fayyaz told a press conference.
At the press conference in Bara tehsil, Brigadier Fayyaz said security forces cleared most parts of the tehsil and the current operation in the area was successful.

Russians urged to not give in to terror after train bomb kills 25

The Russian people were urged yesterday to display a strong will “for a victory over terror” after the death of 25 people in the bombing of an express train.
The attackers were determined “to frighten everybody who lives in Russia”, the head of the Orthodox Church said, as he led prayers for the victims.
“Our people have been challenged,” Patriarch Kirill said. “A crime of which any one of us could have been a victim has been committed for effect.”
He urged anyone who might be able to help the authorities to identify the terrorists to do so.

The Nevsky Express from Moscow to St Petersburg was carrying 661 passengers when it was blown off the track on Friday. More than 100 people were injured, 21 of whom are in a critical condition.
Tatyana Tarasova, a businesswoman who suffered a broken rib, said: “People were tossed around the carriage like rags. Suitcases were jumping from the racks and falling on people.”
The bombing raises fears of a new terrorist campaign in Russia. According to Rashid Nurgaliyev, the Interior Minister, the attack appeared to be the work of a gang. He said that one suspect was “over 40, stocky and ginger-haired”.
Vladimir Yakunin, the head of Russian Railways, said that two bombs had been planted at the site of the crash near Bologoye, about 250 miles northwest of Moscow. The second, smaller than the first, had gone off on Saturday afternoon, delaying efforts to repair the line.
Grieving relatives identified the dead and 85 people remained in hospital. Services of mourning took place at churches and mosques across the country. Fans attending the Russian football season’s final round of matches observed a minute’s silence, and television stations replaced some entertainment programmes.
Aleksandr Bortnikov, head of the Federal Security Service, said that a device containing the equivalent of 7kg of TNT had been used in what was Russia’s worst terrorist attack outside the North Caucasus in five years.
Sergei Shoigu, the Emergencies Minister, said that 26 people were still unaccounted for, although he suggested that they had either survived or had never boarded the train.
With nobody claiming responsibility for the attack, investigators were focusing on groups with links to Islamist rebels in the Muslim republics of the turbulent North Caucasus, where the Kremlin has been struggling to suppress a growing insurgency. Extreme nationalists were also coming under suspicion, with the attack seen as a possible reaction to a crackdown on racist and skinhead groups.

Authorities say two suspects entered the coffee shop and opened fire on the four officers. The officers were sitting in the coffee shop with their laptops, going over paper work before starting their day shift when they were killed.There were customers and baristas in the store as well, but authorities say the suspects ambushed and singled out the officers.

Four Lakewood Police officers were shot and killed Sunday morning in what authorities called a targeted ambush at a coffee shop.

Troyer said the suspect is a black male, 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, 20s to 30s, scruffy appearance, wearing a black coat and blue jeans.
He said they are looking to see if there is any surveillance cameras that may have caught the suspect on video.

4 Police Officers Shot Dead Near Washington State Air Force Base


SEATTLE — Four police officers were shot dead in an ambush at a Washington state coffee house, a sheriff's official said Sunday.
The attack occurred near McChord Air Force Base in Parkland, Wash.
Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer tells KOMO-TV that the officers were hit near 116th Street and Steele Street on the east side of the Air Force base at about 8:30 a.m.
The officers were shot at Forza Coffee, the News Tribune of Tacoma reported.

Switzerland Shocks The World: It Appears That The Ban On Minarets On Mosques Has Passed

This is glorious news...and I have to admit I'm holding my breath that it is officially confirmed but it seems very evident that the Swiss have stood up to worldwide islamic pressure and have voted for an amendment to the Swiss constitution that would ban minarets from mosques in the country. I cannot, personally, believe this happened...in Europe? In "neutral" Switzerland?

The exit polls not only show that the majority of legislators backed the ban (which is required) but that 59% of the people voted for the ban.

Now, here are the arguments, from The Telegraph, that were made against the ban of the mosque minarets:

Commentators had said the country risked international pariah status and a backlash across the Muslim world if a ’yes’ vote was achieved.
If the exit polls prove correct it will be a huge shock and Switzerland risks international pariah status and a backlash across the Muslim world.

"The 'Swiss' brand must continue to represent values such as openness, pluralism and freedom of religion. Under no circumstances must it be connected with hatred, animosity towards foreigners and narrow-mindedness," he said.
Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf, the Swiss justice minister, has suggested that a vote for a ban could fuel Islamist radicalism and violent protests, such as those that greeted Danish cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed in 2006.
"This is not an appropriate instrument for combating religious extremism. It risks the opposite, of serving the cause of fanatics," she said

But here was a statement calling for the ban:

"This minaret is a symbol of conquest and power which marks the will to introduce Sharia law as has happened in some other European cities. We will not accept that," said Ulrich Schueler, an SVP politician and leader of the "stop" minaret campaign.

As we can all see, the major argument against the ban was the fear of islamic reprisals - both inside of Switzerland and all over the islamic world. You saw the reference to the Danish cartoons. Now, I want to look at this statement from a muslim immigrant to Switzerland...read it closely:

Mutalip Karaademi, leader of Langenthal's Muslim community and of Albanian origin, accused Mr Schueler of telling "dirty lies".
"A minaret is a symbol nothing more. It s nice to see a house of god with a minaret or a church steeple or cupolas on a synagogue," he said.

Well, all I can say is CONGRATULATIONS to the Swiss people for having the backbone to stand up to the evil swarm. When a country like Switzerland, which has always prided itself on neutrality and peaceful existence, recognizes that islamic forces are poised to take over their country then one has to believe that countries like France, Britain, Sweden, Germany and yes, America should be able to wake up, too.

According to the respected gfs.bern polling institute an estimated 59 per cent of voters backed the ban. A majority of cantons were also in support of the initiative.
“A majority have voted for a nationwide ban on the construction of minarets,” said the institute’s director Claude Longchamp, speaking on Swiss Radio DRS.
For the Swiss constitution to be changed, the majority of the electorate and a majority of the cantons are required to vote ‘yes’.
A survey two weeks ago showed 53 per cent said they would reject it. Both the government and parliament had rejected the initiative.
Commentators had said the country risked international pariah status and a backlash across the Muslim world if a ’yes’ vote was achieved.

Earlier this year Langenthal's 750 Muslims asked for planning permission to add a minaret, 30 feet high, to their mosque in a town with 11 churches and 14,500 inhabitants.
The reaction to the apparently harmless request has polarised Switzerland and crossed borders to feed into British, French, Dutch and Austrian fears over Islam and national identity.

NATO Airstrike Kills 30 Taliban In Eastern Afghanistan

The scenario was simple - Taliban forces attacked an Afghan police outpost in Khost province, the Afghans called up NATO for help, NATO sent fighter aircraft in and up to 30 Taliban are now dead. Now THAT is how it is supposed to work!

The end result is .... the police outpost/checkpoint is safe, the Taliban are rotting on the ground and the survivors are washing their pants out in a nearby creek and you and me are sitting here with smiles on our faces.

I'm guessing that by the end of the day, CNN will throw up a report that one of the air strike victims was an old Afghan woman who went out to get a bucket of water so the air strike was evil. :Sigh:

Air strike kills 30 Taliban in Afghanistan

KHOST, Afghanistan (Reuters) - About 30 Taliban insurgents were killed in a NATO-led air strike in eastern Afghanistan after they attacked an Afghan police post, a police official and the alliance said on Sunday.
Afghan border police commander Sayed Nabi Mullahkhil said a police checkpoint in eastern Khost province, which shares a border with Pakistan, was attacked by militants overnight.
The privately owned Tolo TV station said 26 insurgents were killed, including one fighter from Chechnya.
A spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Kabul confirmed an air strike was carried out by foreign troops in Khost late on Saturday after Afghan police called for their assistance.
"Afghan forces came under attack and asked for assistance and we provided it in the form of air support," the spokesman said, declining to give any details of casualties.
General Stanley McChrystal, the top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan, has identified Khost province, the power base of insurgents loyal to the Haqqani family, as a battlefront, along with the neighboring provinces of Paktia and Paktika.

Tehran denies this is the program's purpose.

Of course we deny that this is the program’s purpose! Our nuclear program is a peaceful one, and is designed for peaceful purposes. We are currently working on a number of initiatives that will make Iran, and by extension the world, a much safer place. For example, Tehran has seen an increase in automobile accidents of late. Most of these accidents are of the auto versus camel variety, and occur during the evening hours. Utilizing the pinnacle of 1972 technology, our scientists are crafting enriched uranium into “camel bumpers.” (Iran patented the term “camel bumper” and owns all of its subsidiary rights.) These bumpers are harnessed to the camel, and due to the radioactivity, glow bright enough to be seen from Mars. Problem solved.

The West, unfortunately, believes that we will be using our newfound nuclear prowess for evil applications. America and Israel are claiming that my country is developing nuclear weapons. Nothing could be further from the truth, and as the infidels can plainly see, we are conducting war games using strictly conventional weapons. To wit:

Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards and military forces jointly started five days of maneuvers in various parts of the Islamic state, Brigadier General Ahmad Mighani said, according to state television.

"It is the biggest war game, which takes place over an area 600,000 sq km (230,000 sq miles). The aim of this war game is to promote military power of the armed forces against any attack," the television quoted Mighani as saying.

Actually, ours is the second largest war game. The biggest war game is Risk: The Game of Strategic Conquest. The Iranian citizens do not have access to it, because the game board shows Israel. Make no mistake; the filthy goats at Hasbro will suffer greatly for that. Defense representatives like me can purchase a modified version, where Israel and the United States are removed with the help of Infidel-Out correctional fluid.

Unlike Risk, however, our military games are deadly serious. Three specific plans have been developed in the event of an infidel attack. The first plan, named “Operation Aladdin,” calls for the revamping of the Iranian Air Force and the development of a sustained air assault of Israel using our newest weapon: the flying carpet. Scoff if you must, but our technicians have developed a self-propelled floor covering that can be outfitted with air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles. It is highly maneuverable and sleek in style. This rug looks a million times better than the one atop William Shatner’s head! Operation Aladdin will be successful because our carpets are undetectable to radar and can be deployed at a moment’s notice – as long as they are not being steam cleaned at the time.

The second plan is entitled “Operation Pork Belly.” This plan has been designed to stealthily smuggle forces into Israel. Our army corps of engineers is constructing a 50-foot tall armored swine, armed to the teeth with rockets, mortars, and scalding hot bacon grease. The swine can safely and easily transport 300 soldiers up to 3,000km, which will cover the trip to the Zionist homeland. The beauty of Operation Pork Belly is its unassuming nature. No one would expect the Iranian military to traverse the desert in the stomach of a pig. We will use the element of surprise to our advantage, and spring our trap when the time is right – or when the built-in thermometer pops up, whichever comes first.

The final plan, coded “Operation Jerry Lewis,” is a take upon the age-old French strategy. Our country will build several stationary bunkers across the border in the hopes that it will slow down any ground assault. When the infidels simply detour around the bunkers, we will employ the second-most popular French tactic. We will raise our arms, yell “Hey Lady!” and surrender unconditionally. Naturally, Operation Jerry Lewis will only be implemented as a last resort.

Using one of these battle plans – or a combination of the three – Iran will prove its mettle to the world. We will no longer sit on the sidelines like a 98-pound weakling. We are getting into the game, and are about to kick sand in the faces of the infidels! Allah knows we have enough of it in this country.

Russians Determine That Train Crash That Killed 26 Was A Terrorist Attack

How many times have I said that Russia has itself one muther of an islamic terror problem? Twenty times? Fifty? Well, that Russian train derailment that killed 26 Russians has now been determined to have been caused by an impovised explosive device placed on the tracks.

Russian officials opened a terrorism investigation Saturday, saying that a homemade bomb planted on the tracks of the high-speed Moscow-to-St. Petersburg route caused a derailment that killed at least 26 people and injured dozens more.

The head of Russia's Federal Security Service, Alexander Borotnikov, was quoted by the Interfax and RIA Novosti news as saying that an improvised explosive device equivalent to 15 pounds (7 kilograms) of TNT had detonated when the train passed over it Friday night. Remains of the device were found at the site of the crash, Borotnikov said

"Indeed, this was a terrorist attack," Interfax cited Vladimir Markin, a spokesman for federal prosecutors, as saying

As the story goes on to say, the real troubling significance of this is that this attack took place outside of the regions that have been having the terror problem....this could be the sign that the movement is spreading.

Russia: Bomb caused train crash that killed 26

UGLOVKA, Russia (AP) - Russian officials opened a terrorism investigation Saturday, saying that a homemade bomb planted on the tracks of the high-speed Moscow-to-St. Petersburg route caused a derailment that killed at least 26 people and injured dozens more.

If terrorism is confirmed, the train derailment would be Russia's deadliest terrorist strike outside the volatile North Caucasus region in years. The high-end train was popular with government officials and Russian business executives.
President Dmitry Medvedev called for calm, saying "we need there to be no chaos, because the situation is tense as it is."
Witness accounts appeared to back up reports of a bomb blast.
"It was immensely scary. I think it was an act of terrorism because there was a bang," passenger Vitaly Rafikov told Channel One state television. Uninjured in the accident, he helped with the rescue, hauling victims from the wreckage and lighting fires for warmth.
The last three carriages of the 14-car Nevsky Express careered off the tracks Friday night as the train approached speeds of 200 kilometers per hour (130 mph), officials said.
More than 600 passengers were on the train when it derailed near the border of the Novgorod and Tver provinces. The rural area is 250 miles (402 kilometers) northwest of Moscow and 150 miles (250 kilometers) southeast of St. Petersburg.
Reports on the death toll varied.
Health Minister Tatyana Golikova said at least 26 people were killed, 18 were missing and nearly 100 were injured and hospitalized in the derailment. The Prosecutor General's office said the death toll had risen to 30, with 60 others in the hospital.
Police and prosecutors swarmed over the disaster site Saturday and restricted access to what was reported to be a bomb crater. Rescue workers scoured the wreckage, searching for the missing, as two huge cranes lifted up pieces of twisted metal.
Their efforts were hampered later Saturday when a small explosion was heard, forcing Russia's security services to close rail links between the two main cities that had been partially reopened, Interfax reported. There was no elaboration.
Passenger Igor Pechnikov described being in the second of the three derailed cars.
"A trembling began, and the carriage jolted violently to the left. I flew through half of the carriage," he said.
A battered railway carriage lay on its side across the tracks Saturday, while baggage and metal debris were scattered in the mud. Emergency workers wrapped up in blankets and huddled around fires as a light rain started to fall.
Terrorism has been a major concern in Russia since the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union, as Chechen rebels have clashed with government forces in two wars and Islamist separatists continue to target law enforcement officials.
If terrorism is confirmed, it would not be the first time the Moscow-St. Petersburg rail line has been attacked. A 2007 derailment on the line was caused by an explosion and injured 27 people. Authorities arrested two suspects and are searching for a third—a former military officer.
Across Russia's North Caucasus region, attacks are relatively frequent. In August, a suicide bombing of a police station in Ingushetia's capital killed 25 people and injured 164. A September 2004 attack on a school in the North Ossetian town of Beslan ignited a three-day hostage-taking ordeal in which more than 330 hostages were killed in a botched rescue. In addition, a December 2003 suicide bombing of a train near Chechnya killed 44 people.
But outside the volatile southern region, the last fatal terrorist attacks occurred in August 2004. A suicide car bombing in Moscow that month killed 10 people only days after bombs ripped through two passenger aircraft, killing more than 80 people. Those attacks were blamed on Chechen rebels, as was a February 2004 Moscow subway bombing that killed 40 people.
A 2002 hostage-taking at a Moscow theater ended with the deaths of around 130 people.
Another train derailment in June 2005 left at least 12 injured on a train that had been traveling from Chechnya to Moscow.

Halifax Honor Killing Sees Two More Arrested

Once again, we have to dig pretty deep to find any details on any honor killings in North America but the latest case, up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada has seen two more arrested in the honor killing of their sister's new husband. Apparently, two brothers objected to the "secret" marriage between their sister and the now, deceased and contracted to have the new groom offed.

Two more go on trial for husband's contract killing

He is set to give evidence for the prosecution. Mr Bayliss said the couple were married in Pakistan in 2004. Mrs Shahid returned to England in March 2005 followed by her husband in February 2006. His whereabouts in Halifax became known and Mrs Shahid's brothers organised his murder. A third brother, Tahir Mahmood, was acquitted of the killing.

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN): The Jihadi In Congress

Much was made of Rep. Keith Ellison becoming the first muslim member of Congress as he was elected to represent the 5th Congressional district of Minnesota - I believe some used the term "historic"....ring a bell?

Well, the fears that many of us felt about seeing an elected representative with ties to the most radical elements of islam in America are being realized as Ellison's tenure grows longer and he is emboldened by fewer and fewer critics. The two pronged defense for Ellison, islamophobia and political correctness, have served him well as he defends radical islam and anti-Israeli behavior in one of the highest elected offices in America.

As you read this, keep one thing in mind...this isn't nothing...this man, Ellison, has a plan and it ain't the American Dream....and he will reveal more of that plan as his teflon grows stronger. You wait. You'll see.

Rep. Keith Ellison, the Islamists' Man on Capitol Hill

As a U.S. representative, Keith Ellison's primary responsibility is to represent his constituents in Minnesota's 5th congressional district.
The first Muslim elected to Congress, Ellison, a Democrat, also seems to feel an obligation to be the voice of Muslim Americans in Washington. That alone would not be an issue. But in his two terms, he has established a disturbing record of promoting and defending radical Islamists who hide beneath a veneer of moderation.
When those organizations are criticized, Ellison often jumps to their defense. He also travels the country to raise money on their behalf. In 2009, Ellison spoke at three fundraising dinners for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and provided videotaped remarks at others, including the CAIR-Sacramento Valley dinner last weekend. He also appeared with CAIR officials at events on health care reform and celebrating the Muslim Eid holiday.
Last month, Ellison took to the House floor to rebuke four colleagues who called for an investigation of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and whether it was targeting offices tied to committees on the judiciary, homeland security and intelligence to place interns. According to the book Muslim Mafia, internal CAIR records show the group sought to infiltrate those congressional offices.
"These charges smack of an America 60 years ago where lists of 'un-American' agitators were identified," Ellison said in his floor remarks. "The idea that we should investigate Muslim interns as spies is a blow to the very principle of religious freedom that our Founding Fathers cherished so dearly. If anything, we should be encouraging all Americans to take part in the U.S. political process."
The four Republican officials never asked that Muslim interns be investigated. Their concern focused solely on CAIR and cited internal CAIR documents published in the book.
CAIR deserves special scrutiny because of documented proof that it was founded by members of a U.S.-based Hamas support network created by the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Brotherhood is an Egyptian religious/political movement which aims to spread Islamic law throughout the world. The Hamas support by CAIR founders documented in the terror-financing trial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development prompted the FBI to cut off communications with CAIR in 2008. CAIR's access reportedly could be restored if it pledged not to support Hamas. CAIR officials have rejected that pledge.

Debating Muslim Moderates

Two weeks before defending CAIR on the House floor, Ellison engaged in a brief debate with M. Zuhdi Jasser, founder and president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy. Jasser, a former Navy physician, challenges the insidious threat from political Islam and is a staunch advocate of separating "mosque and state."
Ellison responded to this message with a tirade in which he all but called Jasser an Islamic "Uncle Tom." Blacks, he said, are "familiar with people who would seek to ingratiate themselves with powerful people in the white community and would there turn them on the rest of us and give license to attack us all. Arguing 'African-Americans are criminally inclined, they're all in gangs, they're all on welfare.' Black people who say stuff like this. But what they're really trying to do is win themselves individual benefit at the expense of everyone else."
"I don't know you well enough to know that's what you're doing," Ellison told Jasser. "But I must admit that when I heard you speaking, that's what I thought of."
Muslims must "stand against" extremist members of their faith, Ellison said. But he seemed more threatened by Jasser. "Now is somebody going to snatch my 13-year-old daughter's hijab off, call her a horrible name, spit on her because of something that you said, Dr. Jasser, I worry about that," he added. Inconsistent Stands

Ellison also wants to be regarded as a statesman and an advocate of inter-religious cooperation and peace. When he addressed the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) on October 15, he denounced Muslim Brotherhood luminary Sayyid Qutb, whom he described as one of a number of "theorists" who "are responsible for what we would regard today as violent extremism with what I call a Muslim veneer."
In the same speech, however, Ellison praised one very questionable Islamist role model: Hamza Yusuf, president and chairman of the Zaytuna Institute in California. Ellison described Yusuf as one of several "respected religious authorities who converted to Islam." But Yusuf has a long record of anti-Jewish rabble-rousing and other extremist statements. In a 1995 videotape, Yusuf called Judaism a "most racist religion."
On September 9, 2001, Yusuf spoke at a fundraiser at the University of California-Irvine for Jamal Al-Amin, then-accused of murdering a Fulton County, Ga. sheriff's deputy and wounding his partner. Al-Amin would be convicted in 2002. Speaking just two days before the September 11 attacks, Yusuf warned: "We saw the destruction of Russia after its invasion of Afghanistan, This country [America] unfortunately has a great…tribulation coming to it. And much of it is already here, yet people are too illiterate to read the writing on the wall."

Ellison went on to describe himself as a "supporter" of Israel, which he described as "an important country, our ally."
But Ellison has also received plaudits from the virulently anti-Israel Washington Report on Middle East Affairs, which publishes hateful stories like this conspiracy theory of an international Jewish organ theft program. Ellison was one of only 33 House members who earned a spot in the Washington Report's "Hall of Fame," supporting the magazine's position on all eight issues polled during the 110th Congress. The issues ranged from opposing sanctions against Iran to calling on the U.S. government to press Israel and Hamas for a Gaza ceasefire.
In his USIP speech, Ellison designated himself pro-Israel to make a segue to a larger point - to urge support for a questionable report from a United Nations "fact-finding" mission on the war this past winter between Israel and Hamas. As careful analysts have pointed out, the mission, headed by South African jurist Richard Goldstone, was skewed from the start against Israel and in favor of Hamas.
The United Nations Human Rights Council resolution which established the Goldstone mission prejudged Israel's guilt and denounced its behavior while omitting criticism of Hamas. The resolution asserted that Israel's military operation in Gaza "resulted in massive violations of the human rights of the Palestinian people." The resolution called on the Goldstone mission to investigate Israel's conduct in Gaza but not that of Hamas.
Earlier this month, Ellison backed up his words by joining the losing side of a 344-36 House vote in favor of a resolution calling on the President and Secretary of State to oppose any endorsement of the report.
Jonathan Halevi, a research fellow with the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, and others have documented in great detail how Goldstone and Company misrepresented the facts in attacking Israel's conduct of the war while ignoring the fact that Hamas and other Gaza-based terror groups engaged in war crimes by using civilians as human shields. But Ellison said it was "unfortunate" to hear reports that the Obama Administration had tried to persuade the Palestinian Authority not to press for a United Nations Security Council debate on the Goldstone report. Israel, Ellison suggested at one point, needn't fear Goldstone because he calls himself "a Zionist Jew." In fact, Israel would benefit if it were to admit its wrongdoing, according to Ellison.
"I also know that the United States has seen Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, Jim Crow, all types of problems," Ellison told USIP. "Don't be afraid of a report that might reflect something unflattering about our ally. It won't hurt them. It may strengthen them."
It would be difficult to imagine a more false, disingenuous formulation.
First, it is slanderous to liken Israel's efforts to defend its civilian population from terrorist attack to a genuine moral evil like segregation in the South. Second, the Goldstone mission and the one-sided report it produced weren't authorized by the United Nations Human Rights Council in order to further Israel's moral betterment as Ellison suggests. The resolution, which passed 33-1 (with supporters that included Russia, Cuba, China, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan), was aimed at undercutting the ability of a democratic nation to defend itself against terrorists who attacked it by operating out of densely populated civilian areas.

Hints of Hamas Support

In the wake of the Gaza conflict, Ellison voted "present" rather than take a stand on a January 9, 2009 nonbinding House resolution "recognizing Israel's right to defend itself against attacks from Gaza, reaffirming the United States' strong support for Israel, and supporting the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. The resolution passed 390-5, with 22 lawmakers who voted "present." Ellison explained his vote by saying he was "torn" on the issue. The congressman said he supported Israel's right to defend itself but complained that the resolution "barely mentions the human suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza."
In mid-February 2009, Ellison, accompanied by Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA), visited Gaza and Israel to observe the humanitarian situation after the Gaza War. Although the pair spent time on both sides of the border, most of their public statements emphasized the idea that Israel, and not Hamas, was victimizing Palestinians in Gaza.
In a subsequent BBC interview, Ellison was asked why he wasn't emulating European nations by talking to Hamas. It wasn't because Hamas is a terrorist group. Rather, the congressman said if he did "I'd have to defend myself to my colleagues why I reached out to a terrorist organization. It would absorb all of my time. I would spend a lot of time fighting off personal attack and would not be able to achieve the goals that I have."
Ellison expressed hope that European parliamentarians could persuade Hamas "that if they soften their position it would be a lot easier for American politicians to talk to them."

CAIR 's Go-To Congressman

Among all these activities, Ellison's collaboration with CAIR has been the most persistent dating back to his taking office in 2007. He also appears at functions for the Muslim American Society (MAS) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), both entities created by Muslim Brotherhood members in the U.S. In fact, when Ellison traveled to Saudi Arabia last year to make the hajj, a pilgrimage required of Muslims able to get there once in their lives, the MAS-Minnesota chapter paid his way.
Among other examples:
In November 2007, Ellison spoke at CAIR-National's 13th Annual Banquet, where he thanked CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad for appearing there. This occurred after Awad was identified by the FBI as someone who participated in a 1993 summit of Hamas supporters in Philadelphia.
At the banquet, Ellison touted "Muslim finance" as a solution to the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis. He questioned whether the United States would be facing a subprime mortgage crisis if Muslims were to "truly promote" it. He suggested that many Jews and Christians would favor such financing schemes which could enable them to "actually hang on to their house" and "not be thrown out when the interest rate jumped up."
Ellison also said Americans should "thank God" for groups like CAIR who were working to safeguard their liberties against a reprise of the Salem witchcraft trials.
In November 2008, Ellison, interviewed at CAIR-Tampa's 6th Annual Banquet by a local radio station, urged support for Sami Al-Arian, who pleaded guilty in April 2006 to conspiring to provide goods and services to the terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). Evidence in Al-Arian's 2005 criminal trial showed he was a member of the PIJ's governing board and that he solicited donations by praising the group's terrorist attacks.
Al-Arian faces a criminal contempt charge for refusing to testify before a federal grand jury investigating terror financing in northern Virginia, despite a grant of immunity, but Ellison saw the PIJ member as a victim.
"I hope that Dr. Al-Arian and his family have peace" and "justice, and are able to secure a greater quality of justice for their case. You don't declare democracy and the rule of law and then it's that way forever. You have to fight for it," he told WMNF Radio. "That's why we have an appeals process, habeas corpus, various legal instruments to try to get ourselves a just and proper result." Ellison added that "there are some things about his [Al-Arian's] case that I think raise legitimate questions."
In his speech at the banquet, Ellison urged CAIR members in the audience to get jobs in the Obama Administration in order to make "recommendations about how the United States can safely extricate itself from Iraq."
Eight days after speaking to CAIR-Florida, Ellison spoke at a CAIR-National fundraiser in Washington, D.C, where he called for closing the terrorist detention facility at Guantanamo Bay; urged the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq; said Muslims should mobilize to make sure that U.S. forces are not sent to Iran; and repeated his call for CAIR supporters to apply for jobs in the incoming Obama Administration.
After Ellison and Rep. Baird visited Gaza last February, earning praise from Hamas (see above), MAS Freedom sent out a press release announcing that it "Commends Congressman Ellison and Baird on Call for Immediate Relief and Change in Policy in Gaza."
Ellison boasted of his work on behalf of "the flying imams" during CAIR-Arizona's banquet in September 2009. US Airways removed the six imams from a 2006 after passengers and crew members expressed concern about their behavior. They sued the airline and tried to sue the passengers who reported them. The case ended October 20 when the airline agreed to pay an undisclosed amount.
Congress passed legislation over the objections of Ellison and many of his fellow Democratic lawmakers, protecting private citizens who report suspicious activity and law enforcement authorities who act in good faith based on reasonable suspicion. Read more here.
Ellison's record is clear. Ellison has spoken on the behalf of radical Islamists, defended Hamas over Israel and has a dubious voting record. The Congressman either doesn't know about the nefarious connections of those he works to support, or he doesn't care. It might not be the issue Minneapolis voters hinge their votes on, but it is a part of his public record on which he can be judged.

Lebanese Cabinet Says It Is Perfectly Aokay For Hezbollah To Use Weapons On Israel

It's official, folks...the Lebanese government has just officially joined forces with Hezbollah in approving Hezbollah attacks on Israel and thus, in my mind ...and probably Israel's, there should be no "hands off" areas of Lebanon if Hezbollah does attack Israel. What I mean by that is this - if Hezbollah attacks Israel and the Israelis respond across the border, the Israelis should feel NO need to avoid Lebanese military installations, airports, communication centers and ports.

This is a hugely significant development that in the previous Lebanon/Israel wars all started by Hezbollah...the Israelis avoided direct attacks on "official" Lebanese areas and confined their responses to Hezbollah strongholds in southern Lebanon, including southern parts of Beirut.

It appears that Israel's Defense Minister Barak is in line with my thinking:

Barak added that it holds Lebanon responsible for any conflict with Hezbollah. "Hezbollah is not our target," in such a case, said Barak. "Our target will be the state of Lebanon."

So what does this mean? Well, I think this is actually wonderful news because it takes the handcuffs off the Israelis. Hezbollah and Lebanon are "one" now. A supposed Lebanese military convoy moving into southern Lebanon, during the next war, will not be spared but blown to bits. At least it should be. We have all known that the Lebanese government has appeased Hezbollah in the past and recently has brought Hezbollah more and more into the fold of the government itself, so now, with this statement, Lebanon as a whole gets the distinct honor of being one entity, one enemy of the state of Israel.

I truly hope Israel takes the opportunity the next time to obliterate this evil neighbor to the north. Obviously, the Lebanese government has asked for it. I say give it to them. By the way Lebanon, good luck.

Report: Lebanon says Hezbollah has right to fight Israel

Lebanon's newly formed cabinet has agreed on a policy statement that acknowledges Hezbollah's right to use its weapons against Israel, French news agency AFP reported on Thursday. According to the report, Lebanese Information Minister Tarek Mitri said late Wednesday that an agreement had been reached after a cabinet committee set up to draft the statement met for the ninth time. Mitri said the new statement will retain the same clause regarding Hezbollah's arsenal that was approved by the previous cabinet.


The clause states the right of "Lebanon, its government, its people, its army and its resistance" to liberate all Lebanese territory. Hezbollah, which fought against Israel in 2006, is considered a terrorist organization by Washington. According to AFP, Mitri said that reservations concerning the clause by members of the Western-backed majority would be noted in the government program. Christian members of parliament, including the Phalange Party and Lebanese Forces, argue that Hezbollah's arsenal undermines the state's authority and runs counter to UN resolutions. Hezbollah argues its arms are necessary to protect the country against any future aggression by Israel, which withdrew from southern Lebanon in 2000 after a 22-year occupation. Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Tuesday warned Lebanon that it, not Hezbollah, would be the target of retaliatory attacks should the militant group escalate tension along Israel's northern border. "Lebanon grants Hezbollah permission to operate on its soil," said Barak. "We must clarify for the international community that we do not accept that a militia like Hezbollah exists in Lebanon, a sovereign country, and even sits in its parliament." Barak added that it holds Lebanon responsible for any conflict with Hezbollah. "Hezbollah is not our target," in such a case, said Barak. "Our target will be the state of Lebanon."

Pakistanis Capture #17 of 20 Most Wanted Taliban Leadership - Abdullah Shah Mehsud

Nice, nice catch for the Pakistani military as their Top 20 Taliban Leader Target list can now have #17 scratched off, as they have captured Abdullah Shah Mehsud in the district of Tank. The good news is that Abdullah Shah was turned in by a civilian tip (which netted the tipster some cold hard cash) - hopefully, this will open a flood gate of tips on other leaders.

Here's some of the details from The Long War Journal:

Abdullah Shah Mehsud, who was number 17 on the list of 20 most-wanted Taliban commanders from South Waziristan, was captured by Pakistani forces in the district of Tank. He is an "active member of Hakeemullah Mehsud Group from Shaktoi village near Razmak" in North Waziristan, the Pakistani military said in a press release. The military paid "head money," a sum of about $120,000, to the informer who turned Abdullah Shah in.

Note to readers: All of the Taliban from that Mehsud group in South Waziristan use the "last name" of Mehsud so that is why you see that same name referred to so much.

The bad news in all of this is that this capture reinforces the conclusion that nearly all of the Taliban leadership in South Waziristan DID flee from South Waziristan ahead of the Pakistani military operation and are in provinces and districts all over the place now - North Waziristan, Tank, Arakzai, Khyber, etc. Although even that has a silver lining in that the coordination of their attacks and operations (the Taliban's) has to be severely disrupted with these leaders all cowering in caves and huts all over the region.

Pakistan captures wanted South Waziristan Taliban commander

Pakistani security forces recently detained a mid-level Taliban commander who was wanted by the government.
Abdullah Shah Mehsud, who was number 17 on the list of 20 most-wanted Taliban commanders from South Waziristan, was captured by Pakistani forces in the district of Tank. He is an "active member of Hakeemullah Mehsud Group from Shaktoi village near Razmak" in North Waziristan, the Pakistani military said in a press release. Abdullah Shah is the first senior Taliban leader in South Waziristan to be captured since the operation began on Oct. 17. Much of the Taliban leadership is believed to have slipped the military operation in South Waziristan and to be sheltering in North Waziristan, Arakzai, Kurram, Khyber, and in regions in South Waziristan not affected by the operation.
On Nov. 2, the military released a list of 20 most-wanted Taliban leaders. The bounties are to be paid for information leading to the death or capture of the senior leaders of the Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan.
"Anyone who captures these people dead or alive or provides concrete information, the government will award them a cash reward," says the statement accompanying the wanted posters. "The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban [Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan] terrorists are daily involved in deadly activities and because of their activities innocent Muslims are going to the valley of death."
The Pakistani government offered $600,000 rewards for Hakeemullah, South Waziristan overall commander Waliur Rehman Mehsud, and master suicide bomber trainer Qari Hussain Mehsud.
Rewards of $300,000 were issued for 11 mid-level leaders, including spokesman Azam Tariq, military commander Maulvi Azmatullah Mehsud, and camp commander Mufti Noor Wali.
Six other commanders, including Abdullah Shah Mehsud, Asmatullah Bhittani, and Mohammad Anwer Gandapur, each have $120,000 bounties on their heads.
The military has dropped flyers with the wanted posters in Mir Ali in North Waziristan, according to a report in Dawn. Mir Ali is a stronghold of al Qaeda commander Abu Kasha al Iraqi as well as Taliban leader Hafiz Gul Bahadar, who is reportedly sheltering the families of Hakeemullah and Waliur Rehman Mehsud.

1. Hakeemullah Mehsud: The overall leader of the Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan. Considered a dangerous and effective leader, he led Taliban forces in Arakzai, Kurram, and in regions in Khyber and Peshawar before assuming the top job after Baitullah Mehsud, his cousin, was killed in a US Predator strike on Aug. 5.
2. Waliur Rehman Mehsud: The overall commander of the Taliban in South Waziristan. Waliur was competing with Hakeemullah for the top spot in the Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan. He is considered an able commander with strong ties to outside Taliban groups.
3. Qari Hussain Mehsud: The notorious trainer of child suicide bombers and an effective military commander. He is credited with masterminding some of the most deadly suicide strikes in Pakistan.

Rewards of $300,000:
4. Azam Tariq: The chief spokesman for the Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan. His real name is Mohammad Raees Khan Mehsud.
5. Maulvi Azmatullah Mehsud: The military commander of Taliban forces in the Barvand region. Formerly a close aide to Baitullah.
6. Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud: Commander of a Taliban training camp in the Gargaray region.
7. Mufti Noor Saeed: Military commander in South Waziristan.
8. Maulvi Shameem Mehsud: Military commander in South Waziristan.
9. Ameerullah Mehsud: Military commander in South Waziristan.
10. Naseeruddin Mehsud: Military commander in South Waziristan.
11. Shah Faisal Mehsud: Military commander in South Waziristan.

On this Thanksgiving Day, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of the readers of Holger Awakens. Your coming here and checking out what I have put up means the world to me. The commenters are all appreciated ... no matter what side of the fence you are on - I have personally grown from all of the great insights left by commenters here, please keep it going!

Today marks the two year anniversary of Holger Awakens ... what a journey it has been. I started this blog when I saw that the counter-jihad efforts against the evils of radical islam were fragmenting, wavering and submitting. I vowed to fight this evil each and every day with no compromise. As many of you know, I then found myself needing to cover one of the most dramatic wars in American history - the War in Iraq and I vowed to grasp the mantle and try to do our fighting men and women, our heroes, proud. And I have tried to do the same for the War in Afghanistan.

Each and every day our way of life, our Faith, our Country and our freedom is under attack by the minions of Islam and when that attack bleeds into the very politics of America...well, I have to fight on all fronts.

Through it all, I've tried to remain loyal to the original goals and I vow to continue to do that. I'm sure I'd get more hits and attention here if I put up more Michael Jackson vids and gossip about Hollywood starlets but that ain't gonna happen here.

Again, I want to thank all the loyal followers of Holger Awakens who have been here since the start, those that joined along the way and the ones that just got here for the first time today.

Dem Senator, Kent Conrad, of North Dakota Tells Those Of Us Against The KSM Trials In NYC To Leave America

Sen. Conrad Suggests That People Who Don’t Believe in Civilian Trials for Terrorists Should Leave America and ‘Go Somewhere Else’

Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) told CNSNews.com that civilian courts are well-suited to prosecute al Qaeda terrorists and that "if people don't believe in our system, maybe they ought to go somewhere else.” Conrad also dismissed a question about the rights of terrorists captured on foreign battlefields and the rules of evidence in terms of a civilian court trial as not serious.Attorney General Eric Holder announced on Nov. 13 that five suspects in the 9/11 attacks would be tried in a civilian court in New York City instead of facing a military trial.On Capitol Hill on Nov. 19, CNSNews.com asked Conrad: “We’re going to have a civilian trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. If our troops--the evidence against him is going to be found in Afghanistan, there on the battlefield--if our troops need to enter a house and they think that there’s evidence there, should they have to establish probable cause and get a search warrant from a judge first?”Conrad said: “You’re not being serious about these questions, are you?”

If I was on trial or you were on trial, that would have to be [done].”Conrad responded, “We have tried terrorists in our courts and done so very successfully in the past and that is our system. If this happened at any school in the United States there would have been hell to pay. First of all the useful idiots in the media would have broken into their regularly scheduled news program with not only this as breaking news, but hourly updates on the condition of the victims. Each and every government official from the President on down would be commenting on this event with the President holding an kicking summit over ice cream at the White House. School officials would be fired at once with total sensitivity training and classes being taught for days. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be holding daily rallies in the town. Finally Maxine Waters would hold Congressional Hearings.

So why didn't anything like that happen when a Florida school allowed a 'Kick A Jew Day'?

Ten students at a Florida middle school were suspended after district officials say they participated in "kick a Jew day."

District spokesman Joe Landon says a Jewish student at North Naples Middle School reported being kicked on Thursday. The school's principal addressed the entire student body the next morning and asked for anyone with information about the alleged attack to come forward.

The district determined that 10 students should be punished. They each served one day of in-school suspension Monday.

Landon says the first 20 minutes of the school day, which is normally used for reading and tutoring, will now be used to teach students about respect, kindness and ways to prevent bullying.

No criminal charges have been filed.

I would bet you any amount of money that if the victim was black not only would charges be filed, but they would be charged as adults.
