Do you suppose Senator Harry Reid would repeat his claim now that "we have lost" in Iraq? And by the way, have you noticed how those on the Left are back to using this phrase regarding the War in Afghanistan: "This is an unwinnable war." ?
Well, for those on the Left who claimed that the "civil war" in Iraq was unwinnable, I'll serve up another platter of crow for you and at the same time, I'll make the claim that the War in Afghanistan is just as winnable as Iraq.
Anyway, here at Aswat al-Iraq is the latest update on civilian casualties in Iraq and it shows that civilian deaths are at a six year low. Yep. Further proof that the American fighting forces kicked al Qaeda's gnarly asses big time...that this was NOT a civil war between Shia and Sunni but a war between terrorists and the civilized world ...and that this was a victory of a strategy that called for more commitment from America.
Why is it so difficult for those on the Left to see that what was done in Iraq, can be done in Afghanistan?

Civilian casualties hit lowest level since 2003
BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Civilian deaths in Iraq have hit a six-year low in November 2009 due to a decline in bombings, an Iraqi Interior Ministry official told Reuters.
“Eighty-eight civilians were killed last month as a result of acts of violence, the first time the monthly death count has dropped below 100,” according to figures released by the Iraqi Ministry of Health and published by Reuters.“The civilian death toll in Iraq has been gradually falling for two years as the sectarian warfare unleashed between once dominant Sunni Muslims and majority Shi’ites by the U.S. invasion began to subside,” Reuters said.“Suspected Sunni Islamist insurgents such as al Qaeda and adherents of Saddam Hussein’s outlawed Baath party are still capable of staging devastating attacks,” it added.
