An Open Letter To Newly Named Senator Al Franken

Mr. Franken (you aren't Senator until you are sworn in):

I have two questions for you, concerning your upcoming work in the United States Senate. The first question pertains to your priorities in the U.S. Senate. In your campaign for the Senate, you ran against then President George W. Bush and his policies. So the first question is this:

Since Barack Hussein Obama is now President of the United States, what will you actually do in the Senate, or are you going to devote your six year term to seeing that President George W. Bush is brought up on criminal charges?

My second question pertains to both the Iraq War and the War in Afghanistan. In your campaign in Minnesota, your first hard hitting political advertisement on television featured the elderly parents of a northern Minnesota soldier who was killed in action in Iraq. Your advertisement had those grieving parents blaming Senator Coleman, personally, for their son's death. So, my second question is this:

Mr. Franken, since your advertisement showcased a family blaming the death of their son in the Iraq War on Senator Norm Coleman, are you going to, on your first day in the Senate, call for an immediate withdrawl of U.S. troops from the War in Afghanistan so that in six years from now, your Republican opponent won't run an advertisement blaming you for the death of their son in Afghanistan?

I'll look forward to your response, Mr. Franken. You can just put it into the comments section here for all to see.
Signed,

Holger
