Breaking: Sarah Palin Stepping Down As Alaska Governor

UPDATE: See the video above for the actual resignation message from Sarah Palin that details more of her decision. More and more is pointing to how Palin decided that her required defenses to the MSM attacks were depriving her of serving the people of Alaska.

Good lord. This just broke - Governor Sarah Palin has just announced to reporters in Wasilla, Alaska that she will be stepping down as Governor of Alaska on July 26th. There are absolutely no details here at one of the few reports I've found on the net at Breitbart. My only guess here is that with a number of emails from the Palin campaign becoming public, there is something in some emails that might be a bit devastating. Other than that I cannot even conjure up a guess. I can't imagine she would step down for preparations for a Presidential run.

To repeat, this is NOT Palin saying she won't run for reelection, but that she will step down as Governor on July 26th.

Here's the brief report:

Palin resigning as Alaska governor

WASILLA, Alaska (AP) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she will resign from office July 26.
Her spokesman wouldn't say why Palin decided to step down, but the announcement stirred speculation that she would focus on a 2012 bid for the Republican nomination for president

"the MSM attacks were depriving her of serving the people of Alaska." Media attacks are part and parcel of a life in politics. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

I suspect (another) scandal.
