PLEASE Israel..do NOT put this woman in charge! I beg you. This would be like years and years more of Olmert and I personally don't think Israel can survive this kind of limp-wristed leadership. While it is still not clear as to who will end up as the new Israeli Prime Minister, Tzipi Livni, is already trying to position Israel as putting a peace plan on the table and part of the plan of hers is for Israel to concede MORE land over to the Palestinians. Here's some of the details from the article at Breitbart:
I guess I can't quite figure out how this position even plays in Israel but then again, I can't figure out how some in the U.S. are willing to allow Iran to get nuclear weapons either. But in my view, you will never see a lasting peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. It's impossible...simply because the Palestinians are not capable of negotiations. They are liars, they are devious. The Palestinians have bought into the Arab plan of acquiring ALL of Israel's land and nothing short of that is acceptable.
So in essence, we have Israeli leaders like Livni who want to "look" like they are doing something by offering the Palis something they don't even want. And it ends up weakening Israel and empowering the Pali terrorists.
I'm not a total Netanyahu fan either but at least he has been much more clear on NOT taking such a stance in talks with the Palestinians. Choose wisely, Israel - I can vouch for how bad an election can turn out.
Tzipi Livni, who hopes to be appointed Israel's prime minister-designate, said Monday Israel must give up considerable territory in exchange for peace with the Palestinians, drawing a clear distinction with her rival, Benjamin Netanyahu.
She told a convention of American Jewish leaders, "we need to give up parts of the Land of Israel," using a term that refers to biblical borders that include today's Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, repeating her well-known view that pulling out of Palestinian areas would be for the good of Israel, to maintain it as a Jewish state.
Livni told the Conference of Presidents of Major American Organizations that Israel must take the initiative and come forward with its own peace plan to head off international programs. "Any plan put on the table will not be in our interest," she said.
Livni's centrist Kadima Party won one more seat than the hawkish Likud, led by Netanyahu. He opposes large-scale territorial concessions in peace talks with the Palestinians. He believes negotiations should concentrate instead on building up the Palestinian economy.

Livni: Give up parts of 'Land of Israel'
JERUSALEM (AP) - Tzipi Livni, who hopes to be appointed Israel's prime minister-designate, said Monday Israel must give up considerable territory in exchange for peace with the Palestinians, drawing a clear distinction with her rival, Benjamin Netanyahu.
He believes negotiations should concentrate instead on building up the Palestinian economy
Netanyahu and Livni, the current foreign minister, both claimed victory in last week's election. Each hopes to be picked by President Shimon Peres to form the next government.
Netanyahu appears to have the edge, because a majority of members in the new parliament favor his views.
In his address before the gathering, Netanyahu ruled out unilateral pullbacks from territory, criticizing Israel's withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, charging that it allowed the Islamic militant Hamas to take over there.
He said he, too, does not want to govern Palestinians, but Israel must maintain control of all borders, airspace and electronic traffic, indicating that his offer to the Palestinians would be considerably less than a sovereign state.
"Regardless how the solution is achieved, the Palestinians should run their lives," he said. "They should govern themselves, but they shouldn't have certain powers that would threaten the state of Israel."
Official results of Israel's election are scheduled to be published Wednesday, and then Peres will begin formal consultations with the 12 parties in the new parliament. He is expected to choose a premier-designate within a few days, starting a period of up to six weeks for coalition negotiations.
In an interview broadcast Monday evening on Channel 2 TV, Livni invited Netanyahu to serve in a government she would lead. "I am appealing here to Benjamin Netanyahu to join forces with me in a unity government with a policy that represents the center of the political map," she said.
Netanyahu, who assumes he will be the next prime minister, has made a similar call to Livni, who rejected it.

Give up more land, so that your enemy can place their rockets closer to your cities????????
Anyone here want to give their property back to the Native Americans? Me neither, but this is what we have asked of the Palestinians. Occupation has a price - Get out of the West Bank and Gaza and be happy with that. Israel- stop taking my tax dollars- we need them here.
Anonymous #1 - good damn question.
Anonymous #2 - I'm not sure I'm reading your question right - are you telling the Israelis or the Palis to get out of the West Bank or Gaza? I'll see if you answer that part of it, if you come back.
As for tax dollars going to the Israelis, well ...if you haven't noticed lately, the vast majority of American dollars is going TO THE PALIS...for rebuilding and aid which of course goes to Hamas so they can build and buy more weapons so they can attack Israel and the whole cycle starts over again. Also, the vast majority of U.S. aid going to Israel is military - there's a reason for that and if you don't know that reason then I might as well save my keystrokes.

The Israelis need to go back to pre 1967 borders (Israel has never defined its borders -lest they have to stick to them). It is Israel who needs to get out of the West Bank and Gaza and be happy with their original mandate. We give Israel too much - for nothing in return. Hamas is what happens when every other viable leader is killed off by Israel. If Americans lived with the indignities suffered by most Palestinians we would be more violent than they are. If someone took over my family farm (as has happened too many times to Palestinians) and built a "settlement" on the land that my family has owned for over 100 years I'd be as pissed off as any "militant" Palestinian.
oh go cry on another blog Anonymous...that palestinian "farm" you speak of had NO ONE on the damn thing and you know it. Come here and spew this age old persecuted Palestinian crapola is hilarious. These are the blight of the Arab world. The Jordanians held the damn West Bank area as it is known now and the Jordanians couldn't wait to get away from the damn palis.
The Israelis outta take complete control of the West Bank AND Gaza and let the Saudis and Egyptians welcome their "brothers" into those prosperous countries. The palis have their own land now which they shit on and piss on and wouldn't know how to grow a crop of vegetables if their lives depended on it.
Send em packin' is the theme here, dude.

Uh the Israelies did leave Gaza and the folks there shit on themselves with the first the PLO then Fatah then Hamas. This whole pali as victim shit is bullshit.
Land for Peace hasnt worked since the first day we started throwing rocks at each other.
And for Israel anything less than victory is suicide.
So who planted those 400 year old olive groves the Israelis love to cut down? Not the Israelis. My family has lived in one part of Alabama for 150 years. God gave this land to the Choctaws, but if the UN came in here and wanted to take my farm and give it back to them then I (and most other locals) would get violent pretty quickly. There are more Jews in America than in Israel. The Israeli government does not represent the Jewish people or their opinions. Put America first- what has Israel done for us lately?
Yo Abu mous, I want you to thing of all your neighbors around you, The hate your guts and teach their children that the best they can aspire to be is a martyr that blows themselves up in your house amongst your family. If they had half a chance they would break your door down and come in and do despicable things to your family THEN kill them.
Try that for a while...
Anonymous,
G_d didn't give that land to the Choctaws...He owns it and whoever happens to have their feet planted on it at the moment are doing so with his blessings or at least a trial period.
As for what Israel has done for America lately...well, how about I list what they HAVEN'T done:
1. They didn't celebrate in the streets when 3,000 Americans died on 9/11
2. They didn't help the assassins in Lebanon who killed 274 U.S. Marines
3. They didn't back down from Saddam Hussein's nuclear plant nor Syrias
4. They didn't bomb the piss out of Iraq in the Gulf War when Iraq was pounding their cities with SCUD missiles because the Americans asked em not to
Want me to go on putz? You've said you piece - take your pali sympathizing, terrorist loving ass somewhere else. I"m tired of ya.

ok - the evidence is that GIVING "land for peace" encourages the Jihad.
So now it must be time for Israel to TAKE "land for peace".
"land for peace" is what the pali's have been asking for...TAKE them up on it!
Great idea ! "The Israelis outta take complete control of the West Bank AND Gaza and let the Saudis and Egyptians welcome their "brothers" into those prosperous countries."
Since she wants to give other's land away - surely it's time to GIVE Livni's persoanl property to a Kibbutz - "Land for Peas".
Grow peas, for the good of Israel.
sofa,
Great, great points! And this "Land for Peas".... GOLD! Pure GOLD, sofa! hahaha

Holger - I posted as Anonymous 1 but that was my only post (until now). I figure you can tell the difference, but it may be a little confusing for your readers.
I could post a comment under my real name but I don't want some Jihadi trying to track me down. I hope you understand.
Anonymous #1,
I understand completely - I appreciate you stopping back. If I'm not mistaken, when you post a comment here, if you click the box that says Name/URL, it allows you to just type any name like "Ace" or "binLadenIsGay" and so you can remain anonymous but still be more identifiable.
at least I think that is how it works.
