This just happened a little bit ago - a terrorist's bomb went off in a crowded Cairo market and of the 14 wounded (that is SURE to go much higher) there are a number of foreign tourists. Here's the complete article that is out at this time from Breitbart:
No one is more at odds with the Egyptian government than the Muslim Brotherhood but to me, this bombing is too close to the tactics of al Qaeda and its splinter groups. We'll have to wait to see who claims responsibility for this ...and they definitely will now that we see infidel tourists in the wounded category. My bet is that we will see some relatively obscure group claim this and that group will have ties to al Qaeda.
Blast in crowded Cairo tourist area wounds 14Now, the Egyptians are on a number of shitlists at the moment in the muslim world - of course Hamas is none to happy with them after all of the hard lines conditions put out by the Egyptians for the Gaza truce, and also, the Egyptians and Hezbollah got into a pretty big feud over the Gaza situation as well. Add to that the long-standing feud between al Qaeda #2 Zawahiri and his former homeland of Egypt and you have a whole basket full of terrorists that could have pulled this off.
CAIRO (AP) - A bomb exploded Sunday in a crowded Cairo market frequented by tourists, wounding at least 14 people, including foreigners, said police and medical sources.
The injured included French and German tourists, said a security official who did not have an exact breakdown of the wounded.
The blast took place in the famed Khan el-Khalili market in medieval Cairo, frequented by tourists and locals alike. Blood could be seen, on the marble paving stones in front of the historic Hussein mosque.
A police colonel at the scene said the small bomb went off outside a cafe near the mosque kicking up stone and marble fragments, which wounded the passersby.
Riot police cordoned off the area and sniffer dogs could be seen as worshippers were being evacuated. A security official said police were attempting to defuse a second bomb. Fire engines were also on the scene.
Officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they was not authorized to speak to the press.
