Israeli Cabinets Says 'Yes' To Unilateral Ceasefire

Per Israeli TV, the Israeli Cabinet has voted FOR a unilateral ceasefire in Gaza. I will update this later when there is a news source feed with hopefully some of the transcript from Olmert's announcement.

But mark my words, you will NEVER, EVER hear any sympathy here at Holger Awakens ever again for the Israelis suffering casualties from Hamas rockets landing in Israel. They had their chance to end this maggot of an enemy in Hamas...perhaps their last chance to finally rid the world of Hamas and they have given up, they've blown it.

UPDATE:

It's official - here's the formal announcement over at the BBC.

I feel exactly the same way. The rockets will fly again.

Jeff,

Yep - you're exactly right. I'd have to say that this point in time, the only chance Israel has is a new leader that will show some balls, but the Israelis have to realize that if they go back in, they will face world condemnation TWICE as bad as it was this time.

I can see only one good thing that may come out of this. It may propel Netanyahu to the top once again. I think Israelis are getting quite tired of not "winning" anymore. Hopefully Hamas will give them a reason to continue the op in the next ten days.

I don't agree with that...hundreds of thousands of Israelis ARE suffering from these rocket attacks, and you should continue to express your support with them against the corrupt Israeli government.

The majority of southerners had already stated their complete support for the operation...in fact most Israelis support the operation.

It's the government...the fucking government.

Joe,

You're right. I was angry when I wrote this post. My support of Israel will never ebb, it will never fail. This was my frustration showing here over this decision - i have followed for too long the nightmares caused in Israel by the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah and I have no doubt that in time, those two evil factions and their sugar daddy, Iran, will be left at the feet of G_d to deal with but I so wanted Israel to finally exterminate Hamas.

If the Israeli people rise up accordingly to ask for justice - I have to believe the leadership in Israel will bend. I hope so.

Thanks Joe, for knocking some sense into me.
