Three Dead As Russian Police Storm Hotel Held By 'Militants'

Okay, this is an extremely brief and information devoid article from The Jerusalem Post but I think it is worthy of taking a look at:

Three killed in storming of southern Russia hotel

Police stormed a small hotel where armed militants were blockaded in the southern Russian province of Dagestan on Saturday, and two rebels and a policeman died, the regional Interior Ministry said.
Details of the attack on the two-story hotel with about 10 rooms near the regional capital, Makhachkala, were sketchy. But the ministry's southern Russia division said the action was launched after police failed to negotiate a surrender with the militants.
Earlier reports said there were about four militants of uncertain affiliation blockaded in the hotel. It was not clear if any guests or employees were inside at the time.
The storming came as police and soldiers clashed with militants in Ingushetia, another republic in the restive Northern Caucasus.

First of all, this is an AP story so, as usual, any islamist attack is always referred to as a "militant" attack. But I ask you, is there any question in any of your minds that these were islamic jihadists holding this hotel? I'm sure more will come out in a few days and the AP will have to grudgingly admit that it was islamists but I'll be the farm on it now.

Secondly, is it just coincidence that only a week after the Mumbai attacks on hotels in Mumbai, India ...we see a hotel in Russia targeted? I think not. The islamists in Russia are not only trying to attack Russian society and seek an islamic state there, but they are aching for some international exposure and of course, they saw the attention given to the terrorists in Mumbai and I'd say this is pretty much a copycat situation.
