Taliban Say They Will Take Over Pakistan

Big talk from the Taliban in Pakistan as one of their spokesman said today that unless the Pakistan government stops aiding NATO's efforts in Afghanistan, the Taliban in Pakistan will simply take over the country. My...haven't we come a long way from the days just nine months ago when these guys were sitting down for peace talks with the fledgling Pakistani government!

Here's some of the details from the article at ZeeNews:

In what could prove to be a nightmare for the international community, especially India, Taliban on Monday vowed to capture Pakistan if the democratic leadership does not alter its stand on North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). In an interview to a news channel, Hakeem Ullah Mehsud, believed to be right-hand man of Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud, said that his group will capture Pakistan if Islamabad continues to support NATO’s operation in Afghanistan. In fact, Taliban will not hesitate in taking over Peshawar, Hangur, and eventually the whole Pakistan, he said.
This story coming out right now is about all the Pakistani government needs - they are up to their elbows in Indian and world suspicion that they were involved in the Mumbai attacks as well as more and more scrutiny by Western nations who are fed up with their harboring the Taliban and al Qaeda and now, they have an internal threat to take over the country.

I'm not that fond of making predictions because I'm usually wrong but here goes, anyway. My prediction is that within the next six months, Pakistan will allow NATO forces into the NW Territories of Pakistan to hunt down the Taliban and al Qaeda. I know, shocking isn't it? I don't see anyway that Pakistan will get out of this predicament and they will probably word this agreement in a way that the NATO forces will be allowed into the country to go after al Qaeda criminals and proven Taliban fighters from the War in Afghanistan. The real story will be that the Pakistani government HAS to do something to end this Taliban-linked rebellion before they move into some cities.

Now, hopefully B. Hussein Obama will have other things to do than get in the way of NATO moving into Pakistan...cause if he messes it up, I can't be held accountable for a bad prediction! LOL.

Defiant Taliban vows to annex Pak

New Delhi, Dec 01: In what could prove to be a nightmare for the international community, especially India, Taliban on Monday vowed to capture Pakistan if the democratic leadership does not alter its stand on North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). Mehsud added that Taliban does not know the group behind kidnappings of foreign nationals in Afghanistan. The US, which is spearheading global war on terror after September 11 terror attacks on Washington and New York, is leaving no stone unturned in routing Taliban from Pakistan’s neighbour Afghanistan with the help of NATO forces. Pakistan is an ally of the US in the war aimed at eradicating terrorism. An increase in Taliban’s activities on the border areas of nuclear-armed Pakistan and Afghanistan leaves India alarmed. Notably, instability in Pakistan will have serious repercussions for India.
