Israel's Defense Minister Barak: Israel Is Considering Saudi Peace Plan

Somebody pinch me and wake me up from this nightmare. Israel's Defense Minister, Ehud Barak, has admitted that Israel is considering the Saudi peace plan laid out quite some time ago that would have Israel giving up considerable land that it acquired in the war in 1967. Here's the details from Breitbart:

Israeli leaders are seriously considering a dormant Saudi plan offering a comprehensive peace between Israel and the Arab world in exchange for lands captured during the 1967 war, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Sunday.
Barak said it may be time to pursue an overall peace deal for the region since individual negotiations with Syria and the Palestinians have made little progress.

This, in my view, is crap. Here's my take on why this move by Israel would be a HUGE mistake:

1. The Saudi peace plan, as it is written, was endorsed by the Arab League but, and it is a huge but, it was not endorsed by Iran. Right now, the three biggest threats to Israel are: Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran - none of those terrorist organizations will abide by this peace plan.

2. Arabs lie. Simple as that. The Saudis are some of the biggest liars on the planet and if Israel thinks these Arabs will abide by this plan AFTER the lands are turned over, they are fools.

3. The Arabs don't want the lands of post 1967 returned to them, they want EVERY BLOODY INCH AND ACRE OF ISRAELI LAND! We all know this.

4. Finally, since when has any Arab country served as a monitor or policing force on the rest of the Arab League? Egypt has no control over Syria. Saudi Arabia has no control over Lebanon. Jordan has no control over the palestinian territories. There is nothing in this peace plan that will stop a single nation from violating it and attacking Israel.

For those of you who have read the Holy Bible and have tried to interpret some of the signals of the last days, the lead up to Armageddon....you have to be concerned about what is happening not only in Israel but also in America. Israel is turning into a dove and with that stance, their countless enemies gain confidence in exterminating them, and at the same time, if Israel is attacked under an Obama presidency, it is very probably that there would be no American defense of Israel. This indication by Israel is very alarming and the timing could simply be disastrous.

Barak: Israel considering Saudi peace plan

JERUSALEM (AP) - Israeli leaders are seriously considering a dormant Saudi plan offering a comprehensive peace between Israel and the Arab world in exchange for lands captured during the 1967 war, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Sunday.
Barak said it may be time to pursue an overall peace deal for the region since individual negotiations with Syria and the Palestinians have made little progress.
Barak said he has discussed the Saudi plan with Prime Minister-designate Tzipi Livni, who is in the process of forming a new Israeli government, and that Israel is considering a response.
Saudi Arabia first proposed the peace initiative in 2002, offering pan-Arab recognition of Israel in exchange for Israel's withdrawal from Arab lands captured in 1967—the West Bank, Gaza Strip, east Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.
The 22-member Arab League endorsed the plan last year.
