Hahahahaha! The Iranian bid for a seat on the U.N. Security Council went down in flames as Japan crushed the Persians in a vote of 158-32. Then, of course, instead of taking their defeat like men or in a noble fashion, Iranians had to whine and throw a tantrum. Here's some of the details out of Breitbart:
Iran on Saturday blamed what it said was intolerance of its independent positions by the West for its failure to win a seat on the U.N. Security Council, which has imposed sanctions on Tehran over its disputed nuclear work.
Iran was overwhelmingly defeated by Japan in a vote on Friday for an Asian seat on the 15-seat Council. Tokyo secured a crushing 158-32 votes from the 192-member assembly for the right to sit on the Council for two years starting in January.
"Obviously the structure of the Security Council is such that it must be said in practice a few special countries make decisions there and impose ideas," Iran's U.N. ambassador, Mohammad Khazaee, told state television.
"And it is natural that these countries are disinterested in independent ideas or the entry of states that believe in the necessity of re-examining its structure," he said.
"Anyhow, some do not have the tolerance to hear an independent voice in a structure incompatible with today's world necessities," he added.
So, Khazee is, in essence, blaming the U.N. of being an "old boys network" - hey Khazee, you don't suppose it might be that most of the U.N. members had a problem with your country threatening to obliterate another U.N. member, do you? Or, perhaps there were some misgivings about your fresh approach of ignoring U.N. mandates on your own country?
I've gotten to the point where I am convinced that the Iranians are the poster child of islam's new trend toward inbreeding. I have never seen such consistently stupid statements come out of one nation in my entire life.
Iran blames intolerance for losing U.N. seat vote
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran on Saturday blamed what it said was intolerance of its independent positions by the West for its failure to win a seat on the U.N.

"And it is natural that these countries are disinterested in independent ideas or the entry of states that believe in the necessity of re-examining its structure," he said.
"Anyhow, some do not have the tolerance to hear an independent voice in a structure incompatible with today's world necessities," he added.
Iran's delegation did not speak to reporters immediately after the vote in New York.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who regularly rails against the West, has repeatedly said the Security Council was a relic of a post-World War II order that needs updating.
He has also repeatedly refused to halt sensitive nuclear work as demanded by the Council. The West believes Iran is seeking to build atomic bombs, a charge Tehran denies saying its plans are peaceful and aimed at generating electricity.
