Another U.S. UAV Airstrike On Al Qaeda, Taliban Inside Of Pakistan - 5 Jihadists Dead

Yep, yet another airstrike inside of Pakistan by U.S. UAV predator drones and this time two missiles found their mark and killed five jihadists. Here's the report from Reuters:

Suspected U.S. drones fired two missiles on Saturday into a Pakistani region regarded as an al Qaeda and Taliban safe haven, killing at least five militants, residents and an intelligence official said.

"The missiles were fired with a gap of a minute," a Reuters witness said from Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan. "They caused huge blasts. I saw flames rising towards the sky after the explosions."
An intelligence official said five militants were killed in the attack on a house in a shanty neighbourhood known as Machis Colony. There were foreigners also among those killed and their number and nationality had not yet been ascertained, he said.
"The mud-walled house has long been used by the guests as their abode," he said, referring to the term used for the militants in the tribal areas.
So that's what the local tribesmen in the NW part of Pakistan call al Qaeda and the Taliban now... "guests." Well, those "guests" , as long as they are welcome in the neighborhood, are going to keep the hellfires raining down on the general area.

I wanted to point out something on these attacks - I mentioned it awhile back that I thought the U.S. was covering themselves on hitting inside of Pakistan by making those strikes against al Qaeda and not just the Taliban. And in the last half dozen of these reports on the missile strikes, you will see a mention of "foreigners" or "foreign fighters" - those are al Qaeda and although I have never read it anywhere, it's my belief that when the Pakistanis complain of these strikes inside of their borders, the U.S. command simply tells them they are only targeting al Qaeda who the Pakistanis want gutted as well.

Five killed in U.S. missile attack in Pakistan

MIRANSHAH, Pakistan, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Suspected U.S. drones fired two missiles on Saturday into a Pakistani region regarded as an al Qaeda and Taliban safe haven, killing at least five militants, residents and an intelligence official said.
It was the second such attack in North Waziristan tribal region on the Afghan border this week.
Residents said the drones had been flying over Miranshah for hours and tribesmen also fired shots in the air before they struck.
The Pentagon had no comment on the report.
Six people, including three Arab fighters linked to al Qaeda, were killed in a similar attack near Miranshah on Thursday night.
