Australian Military Under Fire From Muslims For Keeping Taliban Prisoners In 'dogpens'

LMAO ! Apparently, muslim leaders in Australia feel that the Australian troops in Afghanistan should be keeping Taliban prisoners in five star hotels and these muslim leaders are complaining up a storm about reports that Taliban were kept in "dogpens." Good grief - first off, these are Taliban - the same Taliban that has beheaded women, hanged women, blown children into bits and killed tens of thousands of innocent people in Afghanistan in Pakistan. But, at the same time, read all of the details here from the Breitbart story:

The Australian military has come under strong criticism from Muslims after it emerged that its troops in Afghanistan held Taliban prisoners in pens that had previously been used for dogs.
Australian Muslim groups have expressed shock and outrage at the alleged prisoner mistreatment, while the government has downplayed the incident as stemming from "cultural misunderstanding."
Four suspected Taliban militants were held April 29-30 by Australian troops in what the Defense Ministry describes as a "walled compound" previously been used for dogs, following a raid carried out in response to the killing of an Australian soldier.

This wasn't even what you and me would consider a "dogpen" for pete's sakes...this is simply bullshit and just another reason for some Australian islamists to get some attention. Look at what this asshat had to say about it all:

Ikebal Patel, president of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, was quoted by the Australian Broadcasting Corp. as saying he is "appalled that the Australian soldiers have been in any way implicated with such disgusting treatment of human beings."
"I mean we've heard about the Americans doing similar things of late in Iraq and one never expected that a great country such as Australia would go to such levels," he said.

These are Taliban prisoners! I'm surprised they aren't given a dog collar and chained to a bloody tree! The Australian government needs to shoot off a quick communication to these imams in Australia and tell them to keep their mouths shut or they can have a one way ticket to Afghanistan to see for themselves.

Australian troops under fire for holding Taliban prisoners in 'dog pens'+

SYDNEY, Sept. 2 (Kyodo)—The Australian military has come under strong criticism from Muslims after it emerged that its troops in Afghanistan held Taliban prisoners in pens that had previously been used for dogs.
The incident came to light after an Afghan soldier complained to his superiors that the prisoners, who included a 70-year-old man and a man with only one leg, were beaten and humiliated, which prompted an inquiry by the Australian Defense Ministry.
The inquiry found that medical evidence and witness statements did not support the allegations, which it said were underpinned by "a strong sense of cultural appropriateness."
The incident is particularly offensive to Muslims because dogs are considered unclean in the Islamic faith.
Amanullah Jayhoon, Afghanistan's Ambassador to Australia, condemned the incident, telling The Australian newspaper that such actions provide valuable propaganda for the Taliban.
Australian Muslim groups have also expressed outrage at incident, calling it a violation of human rights.
"This is of concern to us whether they are Muslim or other people being confined in accommodation designed for dogs," Mohamed Mehio, spokesman of the Islamic High Council, told the newspaper.
Defense Minister Joel Fitzgibbon told ABC Radio, however, that he is confident the Australian soldiers abided by the rules of engagement and were not in breach of the Geneva Convention in their treatment of the Taliban prisoners.
"Our people were patrolling far away from our main base...They did detain people suspected of the worst and most atrocious acts, and they detained them in the most practical way available to them at the time," Fitzgibbon said.
"They were in a compound I've had described to me as a walled compound, which I'm sure is used for a variety of purposes," he said, while confirming that one of those purposes was to house dogs.

I dont think the Aussies should be keeping their prisoners in "dogpens", I feel that there should not be any such creature as a "taliban prisoner" at all, just dead taliban.
