The IDF is concerned about the chatter out there about possibly more soldier abductions planned and is taking steps to minimize that happening. Look at the entire article, excerpted here from The Jerusalem Post:
Considering the heartache and the loss of life that resulted in the capture of the two IDF soldiers at the Lebanon border by Hezbollah and also, the kidnapping of Gilad Shalit by Hamas, I can see why the IDF is nervous. Plus, you look at the high price the Israelis paid in just getting the remains back of the Hezbollah kidnapped soldiers and you can understand why all terrorists in the area are looking for new prizes.
With all the information out recently about the stunning rebuilding that Hezbollah has done along with their increased political stature in Lebanon, I've said all along that instead of Hezbollah actually attacking Israel, they would more than likely try to repeat the 2006 process of baiting the Israelis into action with a soldier abduction - only this time Hezbollah will be better armed and more prepared.
I would guess that the IDF has increase patrol sizes at the Lebanon border and no longer has just pairs of soldiers doing patrols.
IDF says there are increased alerts of plans to abduct soldiers
Security forces are warning of increased alerts on terrorist groups' plans to kidnap soldiers, Channel 2 reported Thursday.
IDF military police have established a special team that carries out mock abductions, and in the past week alone have arrested 25 soldiers who were caught hitching rides, in violation of military orders.
Chief of the General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Askenazi has said in internal meetings that he would rather explain to the soldiers' parents why their children were in jail than explain why they had fallen captive.
