Iranians Conduct 2nd Round of Missile Tests Overnight

Hmmm....seems someone wants their ass handed to them. The Iranians did not heed any of the stern messages from the U.S. on Wednesday after they test fired long range missiles in the Strait of Hormuz and conducted a second round of missile testing overnight.
Here's some of the sketchy details from Breitbart:

Iran test-fired more long-range missiles overnight in a second round of exercises meant to show that the country can defend itself against any attack by the U.S. or Israel, Iranian state television reported Thursday.
The weapons have "special capabilities" and included missiles launched from naval ships in the Persian Gulf, along with torpedoes and surface-to-surface missiles, the broadcast said. It did not elaborate.
A brief video clip showed two missiles being fired simultaneously in the darkness.

What I'm not seeing in this report is a confirmation from the U.S. that indeed there were missiles actually launched overnight. If this news story is based solely on a press release from Tehran and some video clip that they provided, well...I might not be willing to take that at face value like the pawns at AP and Reuters.

But let's just say it did happen. Then it certainly sends the clear message that not only will Iran not stop with this testing and defiant behavior but they certainly have closed the door on any idea of the West that they would turn back on the nuke program.

It's a done deal, for pete's sakes - the Iranians, left alone, will have nuclear weapons within a year. And the only way to change that is to bomb the ever living shit out of that facility. The West, hell...the World has to admit to itself that by taking out Iran's nukes, there will be a significant loss of life but if the Persians are permitted to get the nukes, the world will exist in chaos forever and ever til the end.

Iran test-fires more missiles in Persian Gulf

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Iran test-fired more long-range missiles overnight in a second round of exercises meant to show that the country can defend itself against any attack by the U.S. or Israel, Iranian state television reported Thursday.
The weapons have "special capabilities" and included missiles launched from naval ships in the Persian Gulf, along with torpedoes and surface-to-surface missiles, the broadcast said. It did not elaborate.
A brief video clip showed two missiles being fired simultaneously in the darkness.
The launches come hours after Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice warned Iran that Washington will not back down in the face of threats against Israel.
"We are sending a message to Iran that we will defend American interests and the interests of our allies," Rice said Thursday in Georgia at the close of a three-day Eastern European trip.
Among the missiles Iran said it tested Wednesday was a new version of the Shahab-3, which officials have said has a range of 1,250 miles and is armed with a 1-ton conventional warhead.
That would put Israel, Turkey, the Arabian peninsula, Afghanistan and Pakistan all within striking distance.
Wednesday's missile tests were conducted at the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway at the mouth of the Persian Gulf through which about 40 percent of the world's oil passes. Iran has threatened to shut down traffic in the strait if attacked.
Oil prices jumped on news of Wednesday's tests, rising $1.44 to $137.48 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

We can only hope the civilized world wakes up and reacts appropriately. Didn't Mr. Neville Chamberlain teach us anything?

The "Hitlers" of this world can not be reasoned with. The people who will vote for Obama in the US think that he will visit the 'poison midget' for a nice talk and suddenly a rainbow will fill the sky and bluebirds will land on his shoulders. Wake up!

It's like the filthy terrorists in Lebanon who agree to cease fires with Israel, only because they need to regroup and rearm. Then back to their murderous ways killing innocent people. Wake up western civilization.

brent,

Let's face it, we have a society now of parents who don't even dare take away a 12 yr old's cell phone when she's on it at midnight on a school night - she might "hate" them. Western responses to Iran reflect society. I think in Hitler's day, the West simply could not believe it was happening or could happen.

Today, we have no excuse other than we have become a bunch of spineless pansies. Look at Israel compared to 10 years ago. If Hamas had done a decade ago what they have done the past six months, there would be Hamas blood one foot deep in the streets of Gaza.

I hope we wake up. I'm starting to have my doubts.

Oh I am sure we will wake up soon enough, perhaps right after a few cities have these ever expanding flashes of light and heat in their midst. Look at all the angst that was caused by taking down ol Saddam and his mad sons. Of course it will be Bush's fault for not acting sooner, and for once the libs will be right.
