You know, if I couldn't envision an American Congress dominated by Democrats doing just this same thing, I'd call this beyond belief but it's a fact here - the Pakistani government is looking at an assessment of financial damages to the tribes that protected and gave support to Taliban-linked henchman, Baitullah Mehsud. In case anyone forgot out there, Mehsud is the dude that offed Bhutto. So there you have it, assassinate the potential new leader of a country and make money on the deal! Here's some of the story here at Daily Times:
I hate to flog a dead horse here but I need to recap the events again: Baitullah Mehsud orchestrated the assassination of Bhutto prior to the Pakistani elections as well as numerous Taliban attacks against government forces and innocents (the guy has more blood on his hands then a hog sticker at a pork plant)...so then the government of Pakistan half-heartedly went after his ass and blew up a few buildings. Then a few months go by and the Pakistani government grows weary of fighting and decides to sign a peace agreement with this blood thirsty killer. So that gets done. But wait, Mehsud is upset that his inbred buddies in the area got their goat barn blown up so he demands money from the government. And they are going to give it to him.
How exactly does the new government of Pakistan explain this to the families of the Pakistani troops that were captured and beheaded by Mehsud? How do they explain it to the family of Benazir Bhutto?
So, that seems to be just another reinforcement from the submissives of this world - terror pays and there is no repurcussions. Ridiculous.
On the directives of federal government, the political administration has formed a 12-member committee to asses the damage incurred by tribesmen during operations against Tehreek-e-Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud in South Waziristan Agency (SWA), Assistant Political Agent (APA) Khaista Rehman said on Saturday.
