Two More Al Qaeda In Iraq Leaders Nabbed In Mosul

Yes! Mosul operations are continuing to yield a nice bounty of al Qaeda in Iraq leaders. This is from an article here from Aswat Aliraq:

Iraqi army forces on Wednesday arrested two wanted person believed to be senior commanders of an organization linked to al-Qaeda network in Mosul, a Ninewa security spokesman said.“Army forces captured two wanted persons from the self-proclaimed Islamic State of Iraq, including a senior commander Khalid Suleiman al-Sabawi in al-Muharibeen neighborhood, east Mosul,” Brig, Khalid Abdel Sattar, spokesman for Ninewa security operations

I said it just the other day that this is most encouraging as it is the Iraq Army and security forces that are bringing these guys down. The fact of the matter is they are receiving tips from Iraqi citizens and are going in and nabbing these al Qaeda leaders. With each leader captured in Mosul, the easier it is going to be to disperse all of the al Qaeda in Iraq factions there. The goal of the U.S. and Iraqi forces is to get al Qaeda in Iraq running - get them out of Mosul as a stronghold and send them scattering to unknown areas where they don't have their bases of operation.

This continues to be a good operation - long, but good.

NOTE: Aswat Aliraq got the title of the article below wrong - the two leaders were arrested in Mosul, not Ninewa - there were roadside bombs discovered in Ninewa.
