NATO Forces Kill 15 Taliban, Capture Senior Commander

Excellent, wonderful news! In a series of clashes in Afghanistan, NATO, U.S. and Afghan forces killed 15 Taliban jihadists and also captured a senior Taliban commander. Now, the reporting on this is coming from The Press Association who apparently has discovered every possible word in the English language that can be used to avoid "Taliban fighter" so put your filters on when you see the word "militant" over and over. Hell, look at the title of this news piece that I excerpted below - I had to dig down deeper to even figure out WHERE this action took place! From the article:

The joint forces fought with militants in the Zhari district of Kandahar province as part of a week-long operation in the area, a Defence Ministry statement said.Fifteen militants were killed during the fighting and authorities recovered a number of weapons and ammunition, the statement said.
Meanwhile, police nabbed a militant leader named Abdul Jabar, described as the deputy of another arrested militant leader, Mansoor Dadullah, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.Jabar was detained in Kandahar, Afghanistan's most important southern city and the Taliban's former stronghold, while on his way to Pakistan, the ministry said.
One thing to notice in this article - that Jabar was "on his way to Pakistan" - we have been seeing a lot of that lately, this stream of Taliban commanders headed to Pakistan when they are captured. Now, that could mean the sledding is a little tough in Afghanistan right now and they are looking for a bit safer haven or it may mean that some of the planning meetings are going on in Pakistan, but either way, it seems that U.S. and NATO forces have caught on to this fact and are really watching the escape routes into Pakistan.

Now, hopefully, as NATO and U.S. forces become more emboldened by the recent air strikes into Pakistan that have killed serious al Qaeda leaders, more of these attacks will be conducted on the Taliban meeting places. The fact of the matter remains that Pakistan is the haven for the Taliban leadership and must be gutted.
