Mauritania Frees All Suspects In Israeli Embassy Attack

Just great. (sarcasm, off). The Mauritanian officials have let all eight suspects in the Israeli embassy attack go due to "lack of evidence." So, Mauritania joins a long list of countries to back down to the islamofascists. Appeasement has begun. We all know where this will lead - we've seen the likes of Italy give up Taliban prisoners for hostages, we've seen South Korea pay cash for hostages and we saw Spain surrender in Iraq to avoid attacks at home...and those cowardly acts resulted in renewed violence from the jihadists. Perhaps since Mauritania is an islamic country, this is their way of supporting attacks on Israel? Either way, they certainly have not taken the position of neighboring Algeria who is actively working to hunt down al Qaeda.
When the hell will the world ever learn? What would be Mauritania's response if the U.S. let all suspects go in a bombing of the Mauritania embassy? They'd be stomping their feet and shaking their fists at the U.N., that's what.
What's the reason here? Are they trying to send the message that they support al Qaeda in North Africa? Are they saying they are against the Israelis? Whichever it is, their message, whether intended or not, has come through loud and clear - at least to the jihadists, it has.

Mauritania Frees 8 After Embassy Attack

NOUAKCHOTT, Mauritania (AP) — Mauritanian authorities have released all eight people who had been detained after an attack on the Israeli Embassy earlier this month for lack of evidence, officials said Monday.
Seven of the detainees, including two Tunisian citizens, were held for 10 days and interrogated before being released on Monday, Judge Ould Moustapha said. The eighth was released last week shortly after his arrest, also because there was not enough proof to hold him.
Moustapha gave no other details.
Al-Qaida in Islamic North Africa claimed responsibility for the Feb. 1 shooting attack, in which shots were fired at the Israeli Embassy and a nearby restaurant popular with foreigners. Three bystanders were wounded.
Mauritania is a relatively stable Islamic republic in northwestern Africa. But the country has faced a setback following two attacks blamed on Islamic terrorists, including the Dec. 24 slaying of four French tourists picnicking on the side of a road.
