'Al Qaeda plot to assassinate Musharraf foiled'
Karachi, Dec 12 - Pakistan intelligence agencies Wednesday claimed to have foiled an Al Qaeda plot to assassinate President Pervez Musharraf and have arrested some activists of the global terrorist network.
According to sources, the intelligence agencies on a tip-off raided a militant hideout in Malir area of Karachi and arrested members of the Al Qaeda, Online news agency said.
A huge cache of ammunition and weapons was claimed to have been recovered from the arrested terrorists, the news agency reported.
Sources said that the terrorists during their interrogation revealed that they were plotting to kill Musharraf during his next visit to Karachi.
