Syrian Rebels Give Hizballah Ultimatum
The story comes from The Investigative Project on Terrorism.
Syrian Rebels Give Hizballah Ultimatum
Rebels have given Hizballah a 48-hour ultimatum to cease its operations in Syria in support of President Bashar al-Assad's regime or face attacks on its forces in southern Lebanon.
The ultimatum found on the Free Syrian Army's (FSA) Facebook page warns that it will attack Hizballah in Lebanon if it does not stop shelling FSA targets in Syria. "[W]e will respond to the sources of fire by our hands and eliminate it from inside the Lebanese lands," the Facebook post said.
Gen. Selim Idriss, chief of staff of the rebel Free Syrian Army, denounced Hizballah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah as a "criminal" and called on the Lebanese people to "regain their state that has been taken over by the terrorist Hizballah gang."
"Hezbollah is abusing Lebanese sovereignty to shell Syrian territory and Free Syrian Army positions," Idriss told Agence France Presse. "In the past week... Hezbollah has been shelling into villages around Qusayr from Lebanese territory, and that we cannot accept."
The FSA warned that it would bombard Hizballah in several areas inside Lebanon.
Lebanon's government remains divided over the Syrian conflict, with the Sunni-led government identifying with the FSA and Hizballah siding with Assad.
A Hizballah official claimed that Shiite fighters who were killed last weekend in Syria were acting in "self defense" without admitting they were members of the terrorist group.
Hizballah has routinely denied sending its fighters into Syria to fight for Assad; however, Nasrallah acknowledged in October that Hizballah members had fought Syrian rebels on their own and not at the group's direction.
Nasrallah claimed the Hizballah members were killed while defending Lebanese-inhabited border towns inside of Syria.
"The residents of these towns took the decision to stay and defend themselves against the armed groups and did not engage in battle between the regime and the opposition," Nasrallah said.
In a first, local Swedish authority allows Islamic call to prayer
My Swedish great grandfather is rolling in his grave.
From Todays Zaman via The Religion of Peace:
So, in the land of the Vikings, in a land once feared by everyone in Europe, the Swedes have cowered and folded and will now pollute the silence of the day in the crisp clean north with the Call To Satan.
Disgusting.

In a first, local Swedish authority allows Islamic call to prayer
A municipality in the Swedish capital of Stockholm has allowed the recitation of adhan, the call to prayer, through minaret speakers, in an unprecedented move.
Islamic Cultural Center of Botkyrka, a municipality in Stockholm mostly populated by immigrants, applied almost a month ago to municipal authorities, seeking permission for recitation of the adhan before Friday prayers through speakers in the minaret of the Fittja Mosque, located within the boundaries of Botkyrka.
The municipal council recently convened and unanimously approved the request. İsmail Okur, the head of the Islamic center, told the Anatolia news agency that the first adhan will be broadcast in March after the technical preparations are completed.
“The authorities will measure the sound level. According to the rules, the sound of the adhan shall reach two kilometers at most from the mosque,” Okur remarked, referring to the regional authorities who granted permission for the adhan recitation through minaret speakers.
He further stated that Botkyrka is a region mostly populated by Muslims and the Fittja Mosque is the only mosque in Sweden that has a minaret.
Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla): Vote For Hagel and Be Held Accountable
There are few U.S. Senators that I respect more than Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma and thankfully, this Republican stalwart, this man who never caves to pressure is sounding the alarm that ANY Republican that votes to end the filibuster in the Senate over the confirmation of Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense is voting to confirm Hagel and in the long run, will be held accountable for that grave error.
I should point out to my readers that there were only a handful of Senators back in 2009 who had the balls to vote NO against the appointment of Eric Holder as Attorney General and Inhofe was one of them - while the rest of the senators crumpled like a paper airplane over accusations of "racism", Inhofe stood fast against Holder and his extremist gun grabbing aspirations.
Senator Inhofe will lose this one...Chuck Hagel will be our new Secretary of Defense and we will see Obama's plan of Israeli isolation complete.
Take a moment to email or call Senator Inhofe and thank him for being the lone patriot in the U.S. Senate.

Republican Warns: Vote for Hagel and be Held Accountable
Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) has warned fellow Republicans they will be held accountable if they vote to end an ongoing Senate filibuster over the nomination of embattled secretary of defense nominee Chuck Hagel, the Washington Free Beacon reports.
“Make no mistake; a vote for cloture is a vote to confirm Sen. Hagel as Secretary of Defense,” Inhofe wrote in a strongly worded letter to his Republican colleagues on Thursday, according to the Free Beacon.
Several of the Republicans have indicated in recent days that they would vote to end debate on Hagel’s nomination, paving the way for his confirmation.
Hagel’s nomination stalled last week when Senate Democrats could not muster the 60-votes needed to end a Republican filibuster of the nomination.
If just a few Republicans defect on Tuesday when the Senate resumes consideration of the nomination, Hagel is assured approval.
In the letter Inhofe warns his Republican colleagues that a vote for Hagel would imperil the nation’s security.
“As the Senate once again considers the Hagel nomination, it is essential to remember a vote for cloture is a vote to confirm Sen. Hagel as Secretary of Defense,” Inhofe wrote.
“We should not let claims about presidential prerogatives and precedents dissuade us from carefully assessing the judgment and positions of this nominee. The president can do better,” he added.
“Remember,” Inhofe wrote, “our nation’s security is at stake as you cast your vote on Tuesday.”
Inhofe’s missive appears aimed at several key Republicans who have expressed support for Hagel.
Three Republicans have said they would vote for Hagel’s confirmation (Sens. Richard Shelby, Mike Johanns, and Thad Cochran); a handful of other Republicans have said they will vote to advance the nomination to a full vote even if they do not vote for Hagel, which in effect would assure his confirmation.
Republican Sens. Deb Fischer (Neb.), Lisa Murkowski (Ala.), and Susan Collins (Maine) have said they will vote for cloture.
Inhofe rebuts Democratic claims that the delay of Hagel’s nomination has been an unprecedented and warranted move.
“I know the Senate had traditionally deferred to the president on cabinet nominations. However, our nation is at war,” Inhofe wrote. “The Senate must insist on confirming only the most effective leaders, not only to keep our nation safe, but to ensure our service members receive the leadership they deserve.”
“Unfortunately, I firmly believe Sen. Hagel’s well-established record does not meet this essential requirement for confirmation,” the letter states.
Inhofe goes on to outline his top concerns regarding Hagel, which include his controversial comments about Israel, his desire to cut the nation’s nuclear arsenal, and his desire to increase outreach to Iran.
The Republican Jewish Coalition, along with countless others, has cited a long list of Hagel’s anti-Israel policies, asserting that his nomination would “be a slap in the face for every American who is concerned about the safety of Israel.”
Hagel, however, recently claimed that there is "not one shred of evidence that I'm anti-Israeli, not one (Senate) vote that matters that hurt Israel."
Earlier this week, a publication of Hagel’s statements from a 2010 meeting with university students showed yet another anti-Israel statement.
Hagel reportedly said that Israel is becoming an “apartheid state,” and dismissed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu as “a radical.”
Hagel’s statements were revealed by a student who was present at the event. Former student Kenneth Wagner shared an email he wrote during Hagel’s talk with the Washington Free Beacon.
Despite all the criticism, however, Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) predicted this week that Hagel will likely be confirmed.
“No, I don’t believe he’s qualified, but I don’t believe that we should hold up his nomination any further, because I think it’s (been) a reasonable amount to time to have questions answered,” McCain said, denying that Republicans' attacks on Hagel were personal in nature.
"99 percent of it has to do with the positions Senator Hagel has taken," he told NBC’s “Meet the Press”.
The Suicide Terror Attacks In Mali That the MSM Isn't Telling You About
Yep. The Main Stream Media in America is far too busy carrying the anti-gun water for Barry Obama and the rest of the Leftist regime in America to bring you the news of full out Islamic terror going on in Mali but rest assured, here at Holger Awakens, we'll keep you informed as to what the Cult of Death is up to.

Mali jihadists launch 5 suicide attacks in 2 week
As the jihadist alliance of al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, the Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa (MUJAO), and Ansar Dine has lost control of most of the towns in northern Mali, it has launched a guerrilla campaign against the French and Malian troops. Yesterday, fighters from MUJAO infiltrated the town of Gao, took control of the mayor's office, and battled French and Malian troops in the streets. Fifteen MUJAO fighters are said to have been killed, but the message is clear: As the French plan on quickly exiting Mali, the Islamist alliance will remain to wage a brutal insurgency.
In addition to guerrilla warfare, MUJAO has signaled it is capable of deploying suicide bombers. There have now been five reported suicide attacks in Mali since the first was reported on Feb. 9, in Gao. Another suicide bomber, an "Arab," struck one day later, at the same place in Gao.
According to Xinhua, a suicide bomber struck yesterday in the northern town of Kidal, killing one security personnel. And today, a pair of suicide bombers detonated two car bombs near Tessalit. Five people were killed in today's blasts.
MUJAO has claimed credit for the Feb. 9 and Feb. 10 attacks in Gao, as well as yesterday's bombing in Kidal, and likely executed today's attacks in Tessalit.
The US government added MUJAO and two of its leaders to the list of global terrorists and entities in December 2012. Earlier last year, the group quickly established training camps for jihadists from across the globe following the Islamist takeover of northern Mali in March 2012. France did not intervene in Mali until January 2013, when AQIM, MUJAO, and Ansar Dine had begun marching south and threatened to take control of the capital of Bamako.
AQIM, MUJAO, and Ansar Dine have had sufficient time to establish camps and train and indoctrinate suicide bombers to be used in the Malian insurgency. As a letter written by AQIM emir Abdelmalek Droukdel shows, the jihadists were prepared for Western intervention, and planned accordingly.
Update:
Reuters reported that 13 Chadian soldiers and 65 jihadists were killed during fighting in the Adrar des Ifoghas mountains, an al Qaeda refuge near the border with Algeria. French troops are also hunting the jihadists in the mountain, no casualties have been reported:
"The provisional toll is ... on the enemy's side, five vehicles destroyed and 65 terrorists killed. We deplore the deaths of 13 of our valiant soldiers," said a statement from the army general staff read on state radio.

Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Sends Best Wishes To Pope Benedict (but doesn't mention their support of the massacre of Christians across the globe by Muslims)
If you look up the word "liar" in the dictionary, you'll find two photos there - one is a photo of Barack Hussein Obama and the other is a group photo of the leadership of CAIR.
So now we have the "nice boys" at CAIR sending their best wishes to the resigning Pope - I wonder if their first draft included an offer for them to behead him now before it happens later to him later.
Anyway, nice try CAIR - we know that you hate the Pope, we know that you insist that he convert to your dirty "religion" and we also know your well wishes are a complete and utter joke (and yes, we're laughing our asses off at you).
The release below comes from the CAIR site but as always, I will not link to CAIR's site.
U.S. Muslim Group Offers 'Best Wishes' to Resigning Pope, Seeks Positive Relations with New Pontiff
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 2/11/13) -- The nation's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization today offered "best wishes" to Pope Benedict XVI following his announced resignation and expressed a desire for continued positive relations between American Muslims and the Roman Catholic Church under his successor.
In a statement reacting to Pope Benedict's decision to step down at the end of this month, Nihad Awad, national executive director of the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said:
"We offer the American Muslim community's best wishes to Pope Benedict XVI as he leaves his position as head of the Roman Catholic Church.
"In recent years -- and despite some passing controversies -- relations between Muslims and Catholics have strengthened, particularly on issues related to social justice and family values.
"We look forward to continued and growing positive interfaith relations under the new pontiff as Muslims in the United States and worldwide join with people of all faiths and cultures who seek to make a better world."
[CAIR NOTE: Later today, Nihad Awad will discuss the pope's resignation on "To the Point," a one-hour daily national program co-produced by KCRW and Public Radio International.]
Awad noted that in 2009, CAIR welcomed Pope Benedict's expression of respect for Islam and Muslims as he began his first trip to the Middle East.
In 2008, representatives of CAIR met with Pope Benedict at an interfaith gathering in Washington, D.C.
In 2007, CAIR's Awad was a signatory, along with 137 other Muslim leaders and scholars, to an open letter titled "A Common Word Between Us and You," which was sent to Pope Benedict XVI, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams and more than 20 other Christian leaders.
The open letter was designed to promote understanding between Muslims and Christians worldwide. It stated in part: "[L]et our differences not cause hatred and strife between us. Let us vie with each other only in righteousness and good works. Let us respect each other, be fair, just and kind to (one) another and live in sincere peace, harmony and mutual goodwill."
CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
