This is an extremely brief report out of the Jerusalem Post and I'm sure more will be coming later but I wanted to get it up for you:
So there it is. What it means is your guess and mine and my guess, for what it is worth is that Hezbollah has pushed further into southern Lebanon and the Israelis were probably not only showing that they knew it was going on, but wanted some closeups of the actual violations of the treaty to end the 2006 Lebanon War.
At the same time, my guess is that this was to signal to the United Nations that the Israelis are fed up with this so-called force they have in southern Lebanon that is supposed to keep Hezbollah out.
It's been my contention that Hezbollah wants to try again at some kidnapping attempts of Israeli soldiers along the Lebanon border and my guess is that some of this southern movement was a test by Hezbollah to see how far they could get. The other possibility is that Hezbollah was trying to get Israel to fire the first round - an option I don't think is so bad as at this point, I don't see the Israelis having much world flak for doing it - if they killed a few dozen Hezbollah and their rockets inside of the southern section that is off limits to Hezbollah, that would be proof of the violation and the world would be better off with these Hezbollah no longer walking the earth.
IDF warplanes reportedly fly over southern Lebanon
IAF fighter jets flew over southern Lebanon on Sunday, Israel Radio reported, quoting a Lebanese news agency. The aircraft allegedly flew at low and moderate altitudes.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) had intensified its patrols between Metula and the Shaba Farms along the Israel-Lebanon border on Sunday afternoon, said the report.
