A very brief report on this breaking attack in northern Algeria from the BBC here so I'll excerpt the entire report here:
The al Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb has been active as hell in Algeria and just when the Algerian forces have had some success and it seems to have settled down, an attack like this one always comes next. At some point in time, the Algerians are going to wake up to the fact that they are in a long war with this group and as monies from all over al Qaeda land start flowing more into this group, the Algerians are going to find themselves in a helluva dogfight.
Algeria city hit by suicide bombNow, it says that no one has claimed responsibility for this attack but we all know it was al Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (which the article refers to as Al-Qaeda's North Africa wing). This is quintessential al Qaeda with a vehicle loaded with explosives targeting a police headquarters.
Eight people have been killed in a suicide bomb attack in northern Algeria, reports say.
Another 19 people were injured in the blast, which happened overnight in the northern city of Zemmouri, about 50km (31 miles) east of the capital Algiers.
Explosives packed into a vehicle detonated outside a police station in the city. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
The seaside city is a popular holiday destination, especially in the summer.
The attack came a week after more than 20 people were injured when a police station in Tizi Ouzou, another northern city, was targeted by a suicide car bomber.
Al-Qaeda's North Africa wing claimed responsibility for that attack.
