Former Pakistani Government Spy, Being Held By Terrorists, Threatens To Expose Govt and Military Weaknesses If Ransom Not Met

A former intelligence agent in the Pakistani government who was kidnapped by an islamic terrorist group is seen in a video stating that unless the government releases some 160 prisoners in exchange for his release, he will start singing about the weaknesses in the Pakistan government and military.

A former Pakistani spy who was kidnapped by militants in northwestern Pakistan has threatened in a video to expose the government's weaknesses unless it meets his captors' demands.

Sultan Amir Tarar, also known as Col. Imam, did not provide further details in the video obtained by The Associated Press on Tuesday. But he likely possesses significant knowledge about his former employer, the country's most powerful spy agency, and its overseer, the military.

Now, no one has ever accused me of being the sharpest knife in the drawer but you don't suppose this guy has actually JOINED that terror group, do you? I mean, if he's a former spy and knows those weaknesses, why don't his captors just "extract" that information from him? It's not like a group of islamic terrorists in the bowels of Pakistan are going to be adverse to a bit of torture. So, the government is supposed to believe they will release 160 terrorists from prison and these clowns would let the guy, if he is legitimate, just walk away with that treasure trove of info in his head?

But at the same time, I wouldn't put it past the Pakistani government to go ahead and release all of the prisoners - their past record of caving into ransoms is epic along with the concessions they have made over the years to groups like the Taliban.
