Along The Watchtower: #2 The failure of Obamacare

I may change the name of this to "View from the Lookout" as I do not want anyone to confuse this with "The Watchtower" that is published by the Jehovah's Witness. I have nothing against the JW as I have some friends who are members of this denomination. I just do not want to have any confusion and would appreciate any comments you might have on this. The name is a spin on Jimi Hendrix's awesome version of "All Along The Watchtower." That song is in my top ten of all time. The four pawed editor and I are very serious about this, so please leave your comments! I am grateful to the real editors and contributors' here at Patriot's Corner. If I had to depend on AJ for much assistance, nothing would get accomplished. Once again, he is crashed in front of the woodstove. Well, he does live a spoiled dog's life.

This is a brief commentary on Obamacare. I live in Oregon and we have a stupid Attorney General, John Kroger who is filing legal briefs IN SUPPORT of Obamacare, not against it. Not a surprise as he is another union elected leftist who has supported Oregon Governor 'Sleepy Ted' Kulingowski in everything and in every way. A pair of leftards and Kool Aid stooges from way back. If I can anything good on Kroger's stupidity, I will post it later on.

The failure of Obamcare

Regardless of one’s position on Obama’s version of health care reform, Obama’s recent televised statement that “I’m not too concerned about the process used to get the bill passed” is stunning. What? He is not concerned about the law! We are and have been since our founding a nation of laws. The adherence to the rule of law is what has separated us from the Venezuela’s of the world where laws are changed at the whim of Chavez. The arrogance and self-absorption required to put one’s legacy ahead of all principle, and law, highlight the most dangerous aspect of this administration.

Saul Alinsky, the godfather of “the end justifies any means necessary” radical Chicago-style politics would be proud. We should all be very, very concerned.

And, oh yes, should we really be proud of our Democratic senators, Ron Wyden, Jeff Merkley and representatives who negotiated such a paltry increase in Medicare reimbursement for the state of Oregon lasting only two years? If they were going to cross that important line and sell their votes, at least negotiate for something meaningful. A small payoff is no more moral than a huge one. Perhaps they should take lessons in negotiation from Mary Landrieu or Ben Nelson. Thank goodness for Representative Greg Walden who stood tall in the saddle and voted NO on Obamacare and was always against it. Mr. Walden also has challenged the state of Oregon to refuse anymore pork from the swamp and learn to live within the budget that Kulingowski and his trolls have set for the state. Sadly, as evidenced from the last eight years of democratic rule in Oregon this will never happen. Oregon, the most progressive, regressive state in the Union.

All Along The Watchtower

Jimi Hendrix "All Along The Watchtower''

Songwriter: Dylan, Bob

"There must be some kinda way out of here"
Said the joker to the thief
"There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief"

"Businessmen, they, they drink my wine
Plowmen dig my earth
None will level on the line
Nobody of it is worth", hey

"No reason to get excited"
The thief, he kindly spoke
"There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke"

"But you and I, we've been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now
The hour is getting late", hey

Hey

All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants too

Outside in the cold distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl, hey

All along the watchtower
All along the watchtower

Several reviewers have pointed out that the lyrics in "All Along the Watchtower" echo lines in the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 21, verses 5-9. Isaiah is one of my favorite books of the Bible.
